Help Caption These Photos of Jesse Eisenberg Hang Gliding

If there was ever a perfect afternoon for a hang gliding lesson in Rio de Janeiro, it was today. At least that’s what new photos of Rio star Jesse Eisenberg suggest. The normally serious actor looks like he was having a ball learning valuable lessons of flight. Since Movieline HQ is in a “joining” mood this afternoon, let’s all throw on our best sporting helmet and glide through the jump to caption the hilarious/adorable full-size images.

Justin Timberlake Says He Might Hit The Studio ‘This Summer’

‘I haven’t been hired for anything so I may hire myself to write some music,’ says ‘The Social Network’ star. By James Dinh Justin Timberlake Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images Time and time again, Justin Timberlake , busy with acting, has said that he wasn’t ready to return to the world of music . But with no forthcoming film gigs on his plate, it appears that the multi-talent is finally ready to make some new tunes. “I think I may spend some time in the studio this summer,” the 30-year-old singer/actor told E! Online ‘s Marc Malkin at this year’s Academy Awards. As for why 2011 is the year to return to his musical roots, J.T. explained that it’s all a matter of scheduling as he hasn’t signed on to any other project. “I’m unemployed right now,” he admitted. “I haven’t been hired for anything so I may hire myself to write some music. … It’s right around the corner.” While Timberlake hasn’t put out a solo album since 2006’s FutureSex/LoveSounds, the pop star has collaborated with a range of other artists, including Madonna, Rihanna and Ciara, on their material. In November, Drake also teased a possible collaboration with the pop megastar, saying, “I’ve always wanted to work with him and it’s in the works right now; me and Justin Timberlake will probably have a song soon.” Just a few months ago, Timberlake opened up about his fans’ response to his shifting career trajectory. “They’re looking at me like, ‘Why aren’t you staying with one path?’ ” he told the Los Angeles Times. “They look at me like I’m ungrateful for my music career because I want to do film.” The pop star explained that he wanted to hold off on recording new music to develop his ideas. “I want to conceptualize something a little bit more,” he said. “And it’s probably because of the experience I’m having working with directors and screenwriters and getting to play cool characters. If that means I come up with, like, my version of ‘Ziggy Stardust,’ so be it. Who knows? What I’ve learned from acting in movies, I want to apply to music and see what happens.” Who should J.T. collaborate with on his new album? Share your suggestions below! Black Actors Who Deserve Oscars

Sunday is the big day! And while we won’t hate on the current Oscar nominees (The Social Network, Black Swan, and Inception are dope), we’d like to file a grievance with the Academy for ignoring, or robbing a few black actors & actresses their just due during Oscar season. They may not always have the lead roles in the films they’re in, but they definitely always steal our attention when they waltz across the screen and stay in our minds long after the movie is over. Quietly brilliant, they are the underrated stars in the little universe known as Hollywood. See the list at MadameNoire.com

Oscars Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need To Know!

Join us at 6 p.m. tonight live from the Academy Awards red carpet on MTVNews.com. By Eric Ditzian Photo: Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences All across La La Land in the hectic hours before the 83rd Academy Awards , nominees are putting the finishing touches on the scraps of paper containing their — fingers crossed! — acceptance speeches. Limo drivers are gassing up their rides. And somewhere inside the bowels of the Kodak Theatre, co-host James Franco (or, more likely, James Franco’s assistant) is shining his shoes. Meanwhile, you’re putting the finishing touches on your Oscar ballot or making sure your Oscar party doesn’t run out of Jesse Eisenburgers and King’s Peach Pie. Stressful! Soon, though, the action on Hollywood’s biggest night will be under way. What can you expect when the show goes live? MTV News has got you covered. Read on for everything you need to know about this year’s Academy Awards: The Live Coverage The first thing you need to know is that MTV News will be everywhere on Oscar night. To begin the evening, we’ll be launching a red-carpet live stream at MTVNews.com from 6 to 8 p.m. ET tonight, where we’ll be chatting up everyone from Natalie Portman to Christian Bale. We’ll also be taking your questions via Twitter, so tweet your questions to @MTVNews using the hashtag #oscars for a chance to see your favorite celebrities fielding your own inquiries. We’ll also be running a red-carpet fashion blog on Hollywood Crush . Once the show begins, shift over to Movies Blog for a live blog about the show itself. And, of course, we’ll be churning out loads of video, analyses and breakout stories across all our Web properties, so keep it locked to MTV News for the very latest updates about the show. The Races All week long, we’ve been previewing the major Oscar categories. Best Supporting Actress might be the tightest of all the top races, with Melissa Leo (“The Fighter”) grappling with Hailee Steinfeld (“True Grit”) and Helena Bonham Carter (“The King’s Speech”). Best Supporting Actor couldn’t present more of a contrast: Christian Bale (“The Fighter”) long ago locked up this win. Colin Firth (“The King’s Speech”), too, is a sure bet to win Best Actor, while Natalie Portman (“Black Swan”) should coast to Best Actress victory (though Annette Bening [“The Kids Are All Right”] could play the spoiler). When it comes to Best Director , Tom Hooper (“The King’s Speech”) is a slight favorite over David Fincher (“The Social Network”), but either of these gentlemen could walk away the victor. The same likely cannot be said about Best Picture: “King’s Speech” appears to have pulled away from “Social Network” and should end up the night’s big winner. The Rundown Deadline Hollywood has published the broad outline of the telecast, giving us a general idea of how things are going to go down. Franco and co-host Anne Hathaway will begin the evening with a pre-taped video in which they appear in scenes from the Best Picture nominees. Tom Hanks will be the first presenter, announcing both Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography. Other presenters include Russell Brand, Sandra Bullock, Robert Downey Jr., Hugh Jackman, Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon and Oprah Winfrey. Hilary Swank and Kathryn Bigelow will present Best Director and then, just before the clock strikes 11:30 p.m. on the East Coast, Steven Spielberg will hand out Best Picture. So you think you have a good picture about what the Oscars are going to look like? Hopefully, but check out this TwitPic from Franco for what he simply calls “my view.” Will it be a regal evening for “The King’s Speech”? Can “The Social Network” dial up Oscar gold? Don’t miss MTV News’ “2011 Oscars Live” at 6 p.m. tonight when we’ll be chatting with your favorite Hollywood stars live from the red carpet on MTVNews.com, and stick with us all Oscar night for winners, interviews, photos and more! Darren Aronofsky Calls Spirit Award Winner Black Swan ‘Fun,’ Defines Indie Film

Backstage at the Spirit Awards Saturday afternoon, Darren Aronofsky was in a jaunty mood. And why not? With Black Swan ‘s two biggest Oscar rivals, The Social Network and The King’s Speech , absent from competition at the penultimate awards show of the year ( TSN excluded by budget, TKS relegated to the foreign film category), the night belonged to Aronofsky’s stylish psychological ballet thriller. So after Black Swan took home Best Cinematography (Matthew Libatique), Best Actress (Natalie Portman), Best Director, and Best Feature, Aronofsky took to the winners’ room to have some fun with the press.

David Cross Pessimistic About ‘Arrested Development’ Movie Prospects

‘I’ll believe it when I see it,’ Cross says at the Independent Spirit Awards. By Brian Warmoth, with reporting by Josh Horowitz David Cross Photo: Steve Granitz/ WireImage An “Arrested Development” movie may be a priority in the eyes of former exec producer Ron Howard and creator Mitch Hurwitz, but David Cross doesn’t sound confident that that’s enough to make it happen. Cross thinks the film’s premise sounds “awesome” and knows that many of his former castmates want to get the cameras rolling, but as of Saturday night at the Independent Spirit Awards , he didn’t expect to be playing Tobias F

Billy Burke on His ‘Tasty’ Turn in Drive Angry 3D and the Red Riding Hood/Twilight Connection

Twilight fans who flock to see Drive Angry 3D this weekend in support of Billy Burke are in for a bit of a surprise, as the actor — who plays the calm, mustachioed father to Kristen Stewart’s Bella in Summit’s Twilight Saga films — swaggers his way through the South as a sexually-charged Satanic cult leader. To put it plainly, Burke’s Jim Jones-meets-Jim Morrison villain gives co-star Nicolas Cage a run for his money in the anti-subtlety department, and Burke clearly relished every second of the departure from Charlie Swan.

Brian’s Oscar Predictions: The King’s What?

Were I a betting man, I’d probably stick to the the conclusions of the exhaustively-researched Movieline Oscar Index . More to point: I know in my mind that The King’s Speech will probably win most of the awards, but I just don’t feel it in my heart! And here in Paris , where Speech has only been out for a few weeks and everyone’s obsessed with David Fincher, the cultural climate is still screaming The Social Network ! So here it goes: I’m still predicting a “Facebook movie” sweep.

VIDEO: Latest Oscar Promo Turns Anne Hathaway Into a ‘Rump Shaker’

James Franco and Anne Hathaway (and the ABC promo department) have done well in creating a sense of guarded optimism about the job the pair will do hosting the Oscars on Sunday night. Which is why you should think twice before watching the latest promo for the show. No, it’s not romantic and beautiful, like the 19 seconds of the Grease parody that James Franco sent out to Twitter on Wednesday; it’s awkward and cringe-worthy. Unless the idea of seeing Anne Hathaway-as-Madonna-as-Evita singing “Rump Shaker” is your idea of a party. Then, watch away! Popping and locking at your desk is optional.
