Paramore Roar Back With New Single, ‘Monster’

Band’s first song since the departure of Josh and Zac Farro seems to address breakup. By James Montgomery Paramore Photo: Jordan Strauss/ Getty Images “You” can be a worrisome word. A weighty one. By its very definition — “the one or ones being addressed” — it is up for interpretation, and when it’s used in a song, things get even more muddy. Does “you” refer to the listener or the public at large? Does it take the place of the subject of the lyric, someone who has wronged, inspired, doubted, betrayed the writer? Or does “you” even have to be a person? Couldn’t someone “want” or “love” a refreshing beverage or an old car or, you know, drugs? Shoot, now that we’re on the subject, maybe we’re never supposed to figure out who or what “you” is referring to (the classic example, of course, being Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain,” which is apparently about Warren Beatty … or David Geffen … or David Bowie, depending on whom you ask). I only bring this up because in Paramore’s brand-new song “Monster,” which premiered Friday on the band’s official

‘Twilight’ Star Jackson Rathbone Sings Movie Awards Best Line Noms

Jackson Rathbone picks up his guitar and plucks through lines from Justin Timberlake, Emma Stone and more. By Ryan J. Downey, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Jackson Rathbone Photo: MTV News If this whole “Twilight” thing doesn’t work out, Jackson Rathbone could have a great career translating movie dialogue into catchy little jingles for big awards shows. Winklevoss Twins File New Appeal Against Mark Zuckerberg, Allege IMs Prove Facebook Fraud

Despite losing their appeal , Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss are STILL going after Mark Zuckerberg, saying he and Facebook ruthlessly defrauded them. The Winkelevoss twins are not giving up on their claims against Zuckerberg and the social networking site, which they claim was there idea originally. They point to two damning IMs as proof that Zuck f*%ked them. Zuckerberg and Facebook settled with the genetic freaks for $65 million, but they’ve been trying to undo the deal , on grounds of fraud, to obtain more. The Winklevii want a federal appellate court to reexamine their settlement with Facebook, acknowledge that the IMs are proof of fraud and nullify it. Tyler and Cameron claim Facebook intentionally withheld messages sent by Mark saying, “Yeah, I’m going to f**k them … probably in the [ear].” In another IM, Zuckerberg allegedly told a friend: “But [the twins] made a mistake haha. They asked me to make it for them. So I’m like delaying it so it won’t be ready until after the facebook comes out.” Maybe The Social Network was more accurate than we thought …

Winklevoss Twins Lose Appeal of Facebook Settlement

Despite their claims that Facebook did not provide an accurate valuation, a judge ruled that Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss must accept their $65 million settlement from the social networking behemoth and move on. SUCKS for them. A U.S. appeals court ruled that the settlement (depicted in The Social Network ) stands. The Winklevoss twins (seen here with the actor who portrayed them, Armie Hammer) claim Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg stole their idea for the site. Zuckerberg and Facebook denied this, but settled 2008. The Winklevii have since tried to secure more $$ by claiming that

‘Snow White’ Director Tarsem Singh Talks Costumes, Lily Collins

‘Everything’s in snow, but the costumes are very colorful,’ he tells MTV News. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Lily Collins Photo: John Shearer/ WireImage Two cinematic reimaginings of Snow White are currently in the works, but lest you think both are going to turn out more or less the same, simply listen to how director Tarsem Singh conceives of his film’s look . “It’s actually like if you looked at Gaudi’s architecture, based in England, done like a turn-of-the-century Russian film by an Indian guy,” he told MTV News. Right. We’re guessing that the competing Snow White tale — from Rupert Sanders, making his directorial debut after a string of hyper-stylized TV commercials — isn’t going to encroach on Tarsem’s territory, and that’s just the way he wants it. “There’s a brown guy telling you a Snow White tale to white people. Just by definition, when you put different ingredients, you get a different stew,” he said. His yet-untitled film stars Julia Roberts as the evil queen, Armie Hammer (“The Social Network”) as the handsome prince and, after being cast earlier this month, Lily Collins (“The Blind Side”) as Snow White herself. Why Collins, a relative unknown whose profile is on the rise after being cast in the adaptation of the “Mortal Instruments” young adult book series? “Her eyebrows,” Tarsem joked. “I just saw her eyebrows and I said, ‘That’s Snow White.’ ” With the key players in place, the filmmakers are busy building sets and designing costumes. True to Tarsem’s earlier work, like “The Cell” and the forthcoming “Immortals,” the new Snow White film will dress its cast in some eye-popping garb. “Everything’s in snow, but the costumes are very colorful. It’s like no color, then a lot of color,” Tarsem said. “I never know how actors give you all the trust, because the stuff that I make people wear does not look ridiculous — it looks ridiculous. ” Check out everything we’ve got on “Snow White.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .

Who are the people working to keep your Facebook page not only up and running but constantly innovating and transforming? MTV’s ” Diary of Facebook ” — premiering March 30 at 11 p.m. ET/PT — goes deep inside the social network’s hyperkinetic Palo Alto headquarters to tell the story of what really goes on; you think you know, but you have no idea. For the first time ever, we get an inside look at Facebook’s famous “hack-a-thon,” a 24-hour, no-code-barred event in which employees are directed to ditch their normal duties and instead break ground on those pet tech projects they’ve always wanted to create but have never found the time to pursue. Not only does Pedram innovate, he does so under-pressure, and overnight. And then there’s Erin, a driving force behind Stories.Facebook.com ‘s effort to highlight users’ life-changing, social-networking stories, from one woman’s quest to locate long-lost family members to an A.L.S.-stricken man who finds in Facebook a way to engage with the world around him despite the limitations of his disease. In the end, viewers will walk away with an intimate look at the personalities and day-to-day dealings of one of the world’s most talked-about companies and social platforms.
