Jacquelyn Carter Runs For Magisterial District Judge In Coatesville, PA Black women rock and one incredible example is a Coatesville, PA resident by the name of Jacquelyn Carter! The Pennsylvania resident is seeking to bring a brighter future to her community by running for Magisterial District Judge (MDJ) for Coatesville Wards 1, 3, 5 & Valley Township. Ms. Carter’s platform emphasizes that the criminal justice system is flawed in its approach to render fair and just decisions resulting in prison overcrowding, a backlog of cases that keeps members of our community in legal limbo, and does not allow you, the people, to understand the court process. The Magistrate hopeful created innovative community programs that have been the catalyst for educational change. The SAFE Program (Suspension Alternative For Education) was an out-of-school suspension program during the zero-tolerance policy era that resulted in a substantial amount of students becoming indefinitely suspended or expelled. The SAFE Program allowed students to remain current with their schoolwork, receive mentoring and tutoring, and breakfast and lunch. Another program that was launched, Our Returning Citizens Ministry (traditionally called Prison Ministry) allows people to visit men and women behind prison walls on a regular basis, serve as their advocates for basic human rights while incarcerated, and demonstrate to the men and women incarcerated that they are not forgotten. Ms. Carter adds that it has never been more important to elect a MDJ who can objectively hear and effectively decide cases, ensure rights to due process of the law, and empower you by explaining the court process. Therefore, if a time arises that you may need to attend a magisterial district court hearing, you can be empowered by knowing your rights. You can learn more about Jacquelyn Carter’s campaign as well as donate to bring impactful and positive change by clicking HERE . We wish Ms. Carter the best in her campaign, and hope she inspires more young African-American women to always strive for more to enrich their communities!

Toya Wright Explains Her Separation From Memphitz Toya Wright is finally confirming what’s been speculated for weeks; that her marriage to Memphitz is on the rocks . The ex-wife of Lil Wayne recently dished on her marital woes and gave her take on her hubby and his latest social media outbursts. Via NecoleBitchie: On the status of her and Memphtiz relationship and Why He’s Acting Out: The current status of me and my husband [is] we are separated at the moment. And, we’re just- everybody has their marital issues. And right now, you know, we’re separated. I mean, what is going on with my husband, like I said when I spoke on it, is it’s bigger than me. Micky has been going through something for the last few years since the whole lawsuit thing against his ex [K. Michelle] and Viacom and it really took a toll on him and it caused him to be a different person. So I think that, going through all of those things, and having all of that stress and the world looking at you one way as a “woman beater” and person that steals someone’s money, it’s hard for you to get back into your industry when you had a career and not a job and somebody defames your character. I mean, it’s a lot to deal with day to day. And I watched it. I went through it with him for three years. And I’ve been to counseling with him and you know all types of things or whatever so he can get back strong. It’s a lot for him, that’s on him and choosing to live our marriage publicly, everybody has an opinion, and when somebody has the bigger platform to share their story and the other person doesn’t, it kind of gets one sided. And for him- I always get upset when he reacts out of anger on social media because I know that’s not really him and it’s coming from a bitter, angry place because the world has turned him into that person. You know, constantly accusing him of doing this and doing that and he’s constantly struggling to get back to what he had. Toya also touched on how the possibility that he’s “fallen into her shadow” since their marriage: When I met him, he had a career. He was a self made guy with his own. And then to fall back into my shadow, and then to be known as a woman beater and a this and a that it’s kind of, a lot. It’s a lot to deal with. And I’m just praying for him and praying for our situation. I’m a person that is all about love and our family and I don’t like to give up. Especially being married two times. I don’t even like to go through the whole dating stage and all of that. I love my husband and I’m praying that we can get through this and he can get back right to the person that I met because he’s not the person that I met. This whole situation has changed him into someone else. In addition to dishing on their ongoing marital issues, Toya also revealed that they were at one point considered for “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” and brought up K. Michelle’s abuse allegations. See what else Toya had to say on the flip.
