The Rewind Episode 16 On the latest episode of “The Rewind” hosts Landon and DJ Franchise talk Mahershala Ali’s new movie Green Book. In it, Ali plays a famed pianist who has an Italian bodyguard played by Viggo Mortensen to protect him on a concert tour in the Deep South. Franchise LOVED the film and gave it a 10/10 even comparing it to Denzel’s portrayal of Malcolm X. “I’m a street bully when it comes to movies, I’m a street bully when it comes to music but […] this movie was tremendous and I really think people should check it out. I’m a big fan of Green Book,” said Franchise. They also discussed Sade “shining up her crown” for the track “The Big Unknown” from The Widows soundtrack before paying homage to the late, great Stan Lee. Jordan Speaks On Boat Pictures With GQ One of the honorees for GQ’s annual “Man Of The Year” issue recently reacted to a Bossip headline we wrote about some Becky behavior he participated in. If you can remember, Michael Bae Jordan caught HELL back in July after he was spotted in St. Tropez surrounded by melanin deficient women and his buddy Steelo Brim. We of course commented and dubbed their Italian joyride a “ Milky Mayo-y Boat Tour” to reflect how some women felt betrayed by his seemingly sunken behavior. GQ recently brought up the headline and others to MBJ who once again reiterated that he doesn’t prefer white women, and instead, the boat ride got completely misconstrued. “Did you know whose boat it was? No. Was it a yacht? Nah. If you knew what a yacht was, you’d know that wasn’t a yacht. It’s a boat,” said Jordan. “It’s a boat. Have you ever been to Italy before? Do you know how that works? Sometimes you get on a boat, you go and meet people you’ve never met before, enjoy some stuff. It’s vacation, it’s life. Then it just turned into this whole other thing that it wasn’t. It just wasn’t that. I felt like I needed to say something in that moment.” In a previous Facebook Live, Michael seemingly reacted to the milk line in particular; “I like milk. I like chocolate milk. I love chocolate milk. I like almond milk, strawberry milk. You know the Cinnamon Toast Crunch? You know what I’m saying, the milk after that? I like that, too. That’s pretty good.” and he told GQ that in hindsight he regrets commenting. “In hindsight, I probably shouldn’t have. As I was doing it, all my boys, everyone, were just like, ‘Mike, put the phone down.’ But I was like, ‘Nah, I need to get this off my chest.’ I just felt like it was unfair, I guess. I just felt emotional at the time.” Aww man, Mike. Sorry you took offense but if you look back at those pictures they wereeeeee milky. His friend Steelo also took partial responsibility for the lack of black women on board. “Michael wouldn’t say this,” Brim tells me over the phone. “I will. He was getting on the boat, but that was my girlfriend. I have a white girlfriend,” vaguely suggesting that all the white women on the boat in Italy were friends with his girlfriend. Jessica McGowan/Getty Images Oprah Campaigns For Stacey Abrams In Georgia Oprah sent a strong message out to Georgians today; “Vote for Stacey Abrams!” The mogul was in Marietta, Georgia today to campaign for the candidate vying to become America’s first black female governor. While there she told attendees who came out in DROVES, that she was there on her volition after scouring for Stacey’s number. She also added that she wasn’t paid for the appearance. “I wasn’t asked, I just called Stacy up three days ago. Yes. I didn’t even know her. I am an independent woman. I have earned the right to do exactly what I want to do. I’ve earned the right to do what I want to do when I want to do it. I’ve earned the right to think for myself and vote for myself,” she added. “Nobody paid for me to come. Nobody even asked for me to come here. I paid for myself and I approved this message.” She also shunned people considering not voting and told a story about Otis Moss Sr. who walked 18 miles to vote in an election but was told he was too late to cast a ballot. He never got a chance to vote before he passed. “When I go to the polls and I cast my ballot, I cast it for a man I never knew. I cast it for Otis Moss Sr., who walked 18 miles one day just for the chance to vote,” said Oprah.” When I go to the polls, I cast the vote for my grandmother who died in 1963 before the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and never had a chance to vote.” “For anybody here who has an ancestor who didn’t have the right to vote and you are choosing not to vote wherever you are in this state or this country, you are dishonoring your family,’ she said. “Honor your legacy and honor your right to citizenship in this, which is the greatest country in the world!” Atlanta’s Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms was also in attendance in support of Abrams. The iconic Marvel movie has made an incredible feat by crossing the $700 million mark at the U.S. Box Office. ShadowAndAct reports that it’s just the third film to do so, alongside Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($760.5 million) and Avatar ($936.7 million). The site also adds that Avengers: Infinity War is unlikely to reach that mark, leaving Black Panther with this sole distinction. This comes after Black Panther initially made the list of highest-grossing domestic films of all-time after reaching the $652.5 million and surpassing Jurassic World. It’s currently still showing in some theaters and available on DVD. You buying? WAKANDA FOREVER!

While off camera during a filming of reality competition show Big Brother two white cast members were recorded complaining about how their suntans made them look “ghetto” and Black like one of their African-American cast mates. Rachel Swindler and Angela Rummans were named as the two bigoted Beckies who saw absolutely nothing wrong with what they were saying. Bayleigh Dayton is the Black cast member who they were referring to according to TMZ . “I know.
