By James Dinh Justin Timberlake Photo: Kevork Djansezian/ Getty Images Contrary to reports, Justin Timberlake is not the singer behind a track called “Take Me Down,” a rep confirmed to MTV News on Monday (January 3). The song, which was reportedly produced by the Neptunes, began circulating on the Internet on Thursday and was believed to be a previously unreleased JT tune. “Various media outlets recently reported that a song called ‘Take You Down’ is a new track from Justin Timberlake. These reports are untrue,’ the singer’s rep said in a statement to MTV News. “Justin has no involvement with either the song or the artist but wants to assure his fans that when he releases new music, they will be the first to know.” Despite the JT resemblance, the track is actually by Danish artist Rasmus Thude and titled “LLL (Love, Liquor, Lick It).” MTV News regrets the error. Fans will have to wait to hear new music from Timberlake , who has said in a number of recent interviews that he isn’t ready to record the follow-up to 2006’s FutureSex/ LoveSounds. “I want to conceptualize something a little bit more,” he recently told the Los Angeles Times. “And it’s probably because of the experience I’m having working with directors and screenwriters and getting to play cool characters. If that means I come up with, like, my version of ‘Ziggy Stardust,’ so be it. Who knows? They brought plenty of baggage with them. When “Jersey Shore” picks up again on Thursday with the premiere of the show’s new season, there will be many lingering questions left over from the reality stars’ time down south. Before this season’s final fist-pump, here are five questions we hope to have answered: Will Sammi and Ronnie Make It Work? The drama between these two lovebirds — by turns crabbily thin-skinned and candidly raw — has provided the show with much of its dramatic energy for two seasons. Sam and Ron ended the second season just as they ended the first: together and in love. But the up-and-down pair is as addicted to relationship conflict as they are to maintaining their tans. No doubt they’ll engage in some (irrational) brawling. Whether they’ll survive a summer of Shore temptation remains to be seen.

When she partied 2010 away at Tao in Las Vegas on Friday night, she surprised the crowd with her first tune, tentatively titled “Turn It Up.” A source told MTV News that the song had the club going bananas. “Oh my god! [The response was] huge,” the source said. “People wanted an encore and the DJ only played it once, but they wanted to hear it again. She was singing along and dancing with it. She wasn’t singing over a track, she wasn’t performing for the guests.” After the DJ made the announcement that he was about to play the song, Kim had a little fun. “Kim, as if she was a normal clubgoer, she was just singing along. She didn’t debut it with a performance. She introduced it, but she wasn’t singing it over a track.” The debut at Tao will also appear in the song’s Hype Williams-directed video, the insider said. The source added that Kim’s camp has described the song as sounding like “back-in-the-day Jennifer Lopez … a little bit of a Jennifer Lopez feel.” “It’s totally a dance song,” the source explained. “It’s good and it definitely sounds like her in my mind. You know it’s her voice. She definitely can sing.” So, what is Kim singing about on the song? Michael Lohan has hired Delious Kennedy, one of the members of the group All-4-One, to write and perform a track dedicated to his daughter Lindsay. Despite the amorous stage in her life, the pop star appears strong, bold and just a tad resentful after a breakup on the previously unheard pop-rock song “Part of Me,” which surfaced on the Internet on Wednesday. As speculated, the pop princess is set to premiere her brand-new track called “Hold It Against Me” late next week, according to Entertainment Weekly. In the latest issue of the magazine, Sharon Dastur, program director for New York’s Z100, dished a few details about the pop star’s anticipated new single. “It’s produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin,” Dastur revealed. “And the beat that they give her is really unique compared to other artists — this infectious bass beat beneath the song. Plus, the hook is just amazing. It will be out on January 7.” Rumored lyrics to “Hold It Against Me” circulated on the Internet earlier this week, but Britney’s camp has yet to confirm whether they are real or not. And while details about the track remain scarce, a tweet from Dr. Luke indicated that it will feature a guitar. Fans began speculating about Britney’s new single when PopJustice.com reported on the song earlier this month. Dr. Luke also began to tease fans about the tune, tweeting, “I/we never wrote a song called ‘don’t hold it against me’…. BewaRe of InaccuraTe info kids 😉 We did write ‘hold it against me’ but those lyrics are NOT the lyrics ….” Swedish producer Shellback recently spoke about Spears’ work ethic and professionalism while working on her new LP, which drops in March. “[Britney]’s actually damn professional.
