Pleasure P Declares ‘War’ On His Detractors Via Twitter

‘Half the world think im something that im not,’ former Pretty Ricky member tweets about child-molestation allegations. By Jayson Rodriguez Pleasure P Photo: David Livingston/Getty Images R&B singer Pleasure P spent the majority of the past 12 months lying low after allegations of sexual misconduct with a child . Don’t expect the new year to go the same way. The singer lashed out against his detractors via Twitter on Tuesday; presumably, the targets of his tirade were members of his former group, Pretty Ricky. “Mutha f—as talking bout let it go i aint letting sh– go half the world think im something that im not yall dont know what that feels like,” he wrote. “I had a year to prepare for war now war is about to begin if n—az thought it was over they got another thing coming hahahahahahaha.” The diatribe began when the singer tweeted that he heard what he characterized as “the worst song ever” and asked his followers to guess who recorded the number. Pretty Ricky recently released a new track, “Cookie Cutter,” that’s been embraced relatively slowly, considering their past work. Last December, an anonymous source alleged that Pleasure P molested a young child, which the singer responded by calling the charge against him “vile” and “disgusting.” A legal document that appeared online traced some involvement in the case back to members of Pretty Ricky’s camp. The group denied any involvement in a statement to MTV News at the time. Pleasure P has been pursuing the party he feels is responsible, though he would not confirm that person’s identity. After a tumultuous year, however, the Grammy-nominated Pleasure P appears to be ready to fight fire with hits. He sent his followers a new track, “She Likes,” featuring LaToya Luckett, that appears to be slated for his sophomore set, Pleasure Principles. “We dont do it for the streets we do it for the sheetz lol what it izzzzzzzz,” he wrote before posting the record. Eminem, Jay-Z Track ‘Syllables’ Leaks Online

The dated tune, titled ‘Syllables,’ also features Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Stat Quo and Cashis. By Jayson Rodriguez Eminem and Jay-Z Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Leave it to the last two Hottest MCs winner, Eminem and Jay-Z, to lament the lost art of lyricism in hip-hop. The two top-notch rappers — along with Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Stat Quo and Cashis — spit about catchy choruses and gimmicks taking over the game on “Syllables.” The track is a buried studio gem from old recording sessions that made its way online on Tuesday night. “If we got to dumb down our style and A-B-C it, then so be it,” Em raps over slow piano stabs. “‘Cause nowadays, these kids, geez/ Don’t give a sh– about lyrics, all they want to hear is a beat and that’s it/ Long as they can go to the club and get blitz, pick up some chicks and get some digits. “We don’t know a word to the verse, we only know the chorus,” he adds later. “‘Cause the chorus repeats the same four words for us.” It’s unclear when the song was recorded, although Cashis confirmed that the number was dated via a Twitter post . “I recorded it a while ago but it just came out today,” wrote the rapper. “Timing is everything.” The tune likely dates back to when Cashis was a newcomer on Shady Records (he and Stat Quo, an Aftermath signee, have since left the respective labels). Meanwhile, a track called “Topless” featuring Eminem and Nas also hit the Net on Tuesday night. A previous version of the song with Nas and T.I. has been circulating online for some time. Em and Tip both rap in cadences similar to Dr. Dre, a sign that their vocals are references for the producer. Related Artists Eminem Jay-Z

Avril Lavigne Offers Free Download Of ‘What The Hell’

Songstress will give new single away for free via Facebook on New Year’s Day. By James Dinh Avril Lavigne Photo: John Parra/ Wireimage Avril Lavigne is poising herself for a comeback. Not only will the pop-punk princess debut her brand-new single, “What the Hell,” on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2011,” but she’s also treating fans to a free download of the tune on New Year’s Day. In order to get the freebie, fans will need to head to the Avril’s official Facebook page and “like” the starlet on January 1. As of now, the singer/songwriter has uploaded a 21-second video titled “Knock! Knock!” to the social media site to tease the premiere. The clip begins with the song’s flashing title before a cameraman walks up to Lavigne’s trailer and knocks on the door. The clip ends with the 26-year-old starlet opening the door and proclaiming, “What the hell?” Earlier this month, the Canadian songstress described the lead single off Goodbye Lullaby, which hits stores March 8, as “an unabashed embrace of fun and freedom.” However, Lavigne has stressed in numerous interviews that the rest of the LP will have a raw essence to it. Among other tunes featured on the new album are “Smile,” which she described on her website as a rocker in which she “expresses her gratitude for special people in her life,” the ballad “Wish You Were Here” and the song she told Entertainment Weekly was the album’s most personal track, “Goodbye.” During the making of Goodbye Lullaby, the singer worked with producer/songwriter Butch Walker, pop innovator Max Martin, her former guitarist Evan Taubenfeld and even ex-husband, Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley. Justin Bieber And Chris Brown Team Up For Song

Brown tweeted that the song will drop ‘at the top of the NEW YEAR!!!’ By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: Jeffrey Ufberg/ Getty Images Justin Bieber has never shied away from a good collaboration. At the ripe old age of 16, the singer has worked with everyone from Sean Kingston and Ludacris to Kanye West and Raekwon. Now it looks like he has found a new collaborator: Chris Brown tweeted that he and the Biebs plan to drop a joint song this weekend. It’s unclear whose album the song is for, but Brown seemed enthusiastic about the collabo. “ME and @justinbieber got a BANGER/SMASH record for all the fans out there at the top of the NEW YEAR!!!” Brown teased. “2011.” Bieber had hinted at a possible collabo with Brown back in October on his Twitter , sharing a thinly veiled message with his fans about a duet with the “Deuces” singer. “Kinda hyped rt now. for a new single teamed up with one of my friends and an artist I used to sing covers of on youtube. BIG RECORD. SMASH!!” He then tweeted a video of himself covering Brown’s “With You.” After Brown’s assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna, the singer hit a personal and professional low. But he seems to be making his way back into the spotlight, with Keri Hilson co-signing his return . “People are already putting [Brown] back in their good graces, ’cause they see his remorse,” Hilson told MTV News. “And I know people are saying, ‘Is he really a man? You have him on your album.’ I mean, yeah. To me, a man is someone, you don’t go backwards in life. You learn from your mistakes, and you don’t do it again. You show remorse, and you move on. You move forward onto bigger and better things. That’s a man trait.” Meanwhile, Bieber has been busy working on new music. MTV News recently caught up with him while he was hanging with Diddy in the studio , and both he and Rascal Flatts frontman Gary LeVox have confirmed that they’re working on new music together for the pop star’s 2011 album. Enrique Iglesias Says ‘Tonight’ Isn’t About Shock Factor

Online sneak peeks tease Ludacris-starring video: ‘It’s a little out there.’ By Jocelyn Vena Enrique Iglesias (file) Photo: Kevin Winter/ AMA2010/ Getty Images Enrique Iglesias is following up his 2010 hit “I Like It” with another sexy dance track, “Tonight.” While this song’s a bit more forward than his previous one — boasting the lyric, “Tonight, I’m f—ing you” — it is just as party-ready. And though the song may leave some listeners blushing, Iglesias says he wasn’t trying to shock anyone. “I was asked by a bunch of journalists, ‘Was it a shock factor that you wanted to create?’ And I honestly told them, it truly wasn’t about that,” he explained to MTV News. “I love the song. I loved the melody. I loved the beat. I thought it was unique. Look, how many adults go out at night or go to the club and that goes through their head, but they would never have the guts to say it?” Regarding the song being a bit sexier than fans may be used to hearing from the singer, he laughed, replying, “I’m a little more religious, right?” Iglesias joked that he got Ludacris on the track to displace some of the blame he might get from the song’s raunchy content. “I loved his work. I think he’s one of those artists that every single feature I’ve heard of his, it’s always a perfect 10. He’s always dead on,” Iglesias explained. “I played it for him, and I wanted to see what his reaction would be like, so when I played it for him he immediately called me back and was like, ‘Man, I’m on this.’ This is exactly what he said: ‘This is my kind of sh–.’ ” The guys will be teasing the “Tonight” video , set to debut in early 2011, with online sneak peeks. The video was shot over four days in Cabo, Mexico and Los Angeles. Iglesias explains that it’s going to be “a little more cinematic, a little more of a long story. You get a little bit of acting on Luda’s part. I was a little afraid: It’s a tough song. What type of video do you make? What do you do?” So what did they do? “It’s stylized, and it’s not so ‘in your face,’ ” he explained. “I don’t know how to explain it. When I saw the video, it didn’t feel offensive. Although I saw the video and it’s a little out there, but I loved it. It’s almost like the guys’ fantasy. That’s what we wanted to create.” Luda is the only one doing the acting in the video, and Iglesias, who will be kicking off his 2011 live shows February 5 at Madison Square Garden, has a very good reason for that. “I was there when he was shooting, but in this video, it wasn’t about us being together in the video. I wanted to separate his part,” he said. “But it was great, and I think he’s one of those guys — he’s so charismatic. I wanted to get a little bit of his acting skills in there because he’s a great actor. I’m trying to be as laid-back as possible.” Are you a fan of “Tonight’? Bozell Column: Exploiting the Teen Temptress

You may have never heard of the 17-year-old actress Taylor Momsen, but she represents everything that’s wrong with pop culture today. At seven, she starred as the adorable Cindy Lou Who in Jim Carrey’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” but there’s nothing adorable in what she’s done lately. Momsen is a “multiple threat,” matching acting on CW’s smutty teen series “Gossip Girl” with a “music career” with a band accurately titled “The Pretty Reckless.” In July, still aged 16, Momsen's music video for the song “Miss Nothing” featured her in raccoonish eye makeup wearing a white silk bodysuit, fishnet stockings and garters – not exactly your standard high school junior outfit – a child, crawling, standing and lying on her back on a banquet table offering herself figuratively as a morsel for men twice her age. In September came another video, for the song “Make Me Wanna Die,” where she walked down the street, systematically stripping until she stood in a fiery cemetery in her underwear and stockings. She promised in the lyrics she would steal and die for her beloved. read more

Lil Wayne And Eminem: Relive The MCs’ Past ‘SNL’ Glory

Before the duo hit the ‘Saturday Night Live’ stage, we look back on the rappers’ previous guest turns. By Paul Cantor Eminem and Lil Wayne Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images Lil Wayne and Eminem are set to appear as musical guests on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend. Em and Wayne collaborated earlier this year on singles — Em on Wayne’s “Drop the World” and Wayne on Em’s “No Love” — and there’s a possibility they’ll perform both songs on the show. But this is far from either artist’s first tour of duty at Studio 8H. Here, we take a quick look back at the rappers’ past ‘SNL’ glory. September 2008 : Lil Wayne appeared one time, back in ’08, in an episode hosted by Olympian Michael Phelps. At the time, his album Tha Carter III was one of the year’s biggest sellers. Backed by the ‘SNL’ band and his Cash Money cohort (and current Young Money president) Mack Maine, Wayne performed “Got Money.” Decked out in a black leather biker jacket and violet-colored skinny jeans, Weezy ran through the song before introducing Mack, who closed the set. Wayne returned for “Lollipop,” dressed in a white V-neck T-shirt and grey jeans. He sang with a green-and-white electric guitar strapped to his torso and noodled his way through a few (out-of-key) chords toward the song’s close. October 2004 : Em’s history with ‘SNL’ stretches back to 1999, and he would continue to pop up on the sketch show over the years. In 2004, he appeared on an episode hosted by Kate Winslet. Wearing an oversize Detroit Tigers jersey, and flanked by D12 member Proof , Eminem performed the hilarious, bouncy “Just Lose It.” In a more serious moment, he also rapped “Mosh.” Dressed in all black, he passionately spit his George Bush-protest song, imploring viewers not to re-elect the U.S. president come Election Day, which was just weeks away. Then in May 2002 , Em guest-starred on an episode hosted by Kirsten Dunst, doing only one song this time, “Without Me.” The now-deceased Proof was Em’s hypeman on this stop too. Em also showed off his acting chops — his “8 Mile” was only a few months from its November release — taking part in an ‘SNL’ sketch , in which he played himself. October 2000 : In an episode hosted by Rob Lowe, Em made his first solo ‘SNL’ appearance. The Detroit MC was riding high off the success of The Marshall Mathers LP that year, and he performed two of the album’s biggest hits, “The Real Slim Shady” and “Stan.” For “Stan,” he brought along Dido, who sang the song’s hook as Em waved his hands side to side. October 1999 : Eminem turned up on ‘SNL’ for the very first time alongside his mentor Dr. Dre back in the fall of 1999, in an episode hosted by Norm Macdonald. Dre brought Marshall along for a performance of “Forgot About Dre.” In baggy jeans, backward cap and puffy, goose-down jacket, Em spit his multisyllabic flow and bounced along to the catchy Dre beat. Lil Wayne Premieres New Song, ‘6’7" ‘

Weezy re-teams with ‘A Milli’ producer Bangladesh for first single off Tha Carter IV. By Alvin Blanco Lil Wayne Photo: Getty Images Lil Wayne is officially back. The Young Money CEO was released from Rikers Island in November, but on Tuesday (December 14) Lil Wayne let Funkmaster Flex premiere his latest single, “6′ 7″,” featuring Cory Gunz and produced by Bangladesh. The combo of Weezy and Bangladesh creates instant heat, just as it did when they linked up on “A Milli” from Tha Carter III. That single became one of 2007’s most popular and helped push the album to a million units sold in its first week. Lil Wayne snaps on “6′ 7,” ” dropping some very quotable verses (“Most of y’all don’t get the picture unless the flash is on”) over Bangladesh’s schizoid production of sped-up vocals, blade-sharp percussion and murky bass. Vivid metaphors flow throughout the track. Raps Wayne, “Life is a bitch and death is her sister, sleep is the cousin, what a f—in’ family picture/ You know father time, we all know mother nature. It’s all in the family, but I am of no relation. …” The latest Young Money signee, Cory Gunz, caps off the song with a double time flow on the final third verse. Blog sites began posting a radio rip of the song almost immediately. On Shade 45 earlier Tuesday morning, Lil Wayne told hosts DJ Drama and Karen Civil that “6′ 7″ ” is not only “a very tall record” but is the lead single from Tha Carter IV, which he said will be in stores February 2011. Katy Perry Asks Fans Via Twitter To Help Pick Her Next Single

‘Your voice has been heard! We’re on the same page,’ the singer tweeted over the weekend after fielding requests. By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry Photo: Amy Sussman/ Getty Images With three Teenage Dream tunes already soaring to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, it seems that Katy Perry is planning chart domination once again. The singer took to her Twitter over the weekend to get her fans in on the important decision of which track off her album should be her next single. “PEOPLE u are the reason why I’m here, SO what song off of TEENAGE DREAM do u want to blow up NEXT?!” she tweeted on Sunday. “Put a # next to the song YOU want!” Among the fans who weighed in were some of Perry’s celebrity pals, including Perez Hilton, who made his choice clear when he tweeted , “@katyperry It HAS to be #Peacock! Definitely!!!!” Perry hasn’t divulged the name of the tune she’s chosen, but she did let fans know that there is a clear winner. “Thanks for all your great suggestions for the next single today!” she wrote early Monday morning (December 13). “Your voice has been heard! We’re on the same page…” The single would follow in the footsteps of “California Gurls,” “Teenage Dream” and “Firework,” the latter of which just became her latest smash off the release. While no one is sure that Perez’s suggestion of “Peacock” will be the track that’s picked, Perry has talked about the song in the past to MTV News. “With me there are a lot of double entendres,” she said. “There’s a lot of puns. You know, when I learned how to write a song, the person that was kind of teaching me was an amazing songwriter, and he was like, ‘Don’t forget about the double entendres. Don’t forget about the puns. Don’t forget that one word can have two meanings.’ So I’m always kind of looking for that one thing that’s really normal that you can make twisted.” So what song do you think Katy Perry’s next single should be?
