Justin Bieber Reveals Release Dates For New Singles

Bieber’s Far East Movement collabo drops next week, followed by his first Believe single in March. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: James Devaney/ Getty Images Fans who want to hear some new music from Justin Bieber won’t have to wait much longer. The singer has revealed that he’s set to drop not one but two singles in the very near future. First off, Bieber’s collaboration with Far East Movement , which also features Party Rockers LMFAO, drops on Tuesday. The Twitter announcement for the release included the hashtag “#LiveMyLife,” perhaps a hint as to the name of the song. The song’s producer, RedOne, recently spoke to MTV News about the track. “I did a few songs with Far East Movement, and one of the songs … to me, it’s a smash,” he said. “And Justin sang the chorus. It’s a really good song, and I think people are gonna dance like crazy to it.” In addition to the release, Bieber revealed that his first single off his forthcoming album Believe will drop in March. “And u guys keep asking. so yeah. my single is NEXT MONTH> #BELIEVE,” he wrote. Little else is know about the song, but given the caliber of talent he’s been recording with for the album of the same name, it’s certain to be something his Beliebers will look forward to. For the album, he’s hooked up with everyone from Pharrell and Rodney Jerkins to Drake, Lil Wayne, Timbaland and will.i.am. “The only conversation we’ve had about Justin’s album that we’re about to do is it’s really important that it’s the proper transition, because we’ve seen him [with] ‘Baby,’ now we’re watching him grow up,” vocal producer Kuk Harrell told us. “And we can’t just throw him into the adult game right away. It has to be the proper transition. There’s a record in between.” It’s an exciting time for Bieber. As he continues to up his professional game, he’s also about to celebrate a personal milestone: The teen star will turn 18 on March 1. Fans weigh in on ‘Birthday Cake’ and ‘Turn Up the Music’ remixes and what working together again says about their relationship. By Jocelyn Vena Rihanna and Chris Brown in 2008 Photo: WireImage When Chris Brown and Rihanna dropped their remixes of “Birthday Cake” and “Turn Up the Music,” fans immediately began to weigh in on the collaborations and what they mean about the status of Ri and Brown’s highly publicized tumultuous relationship. While the songs may serve as a distraction from their personal past (which includes Brown’s assault of Rihanna in 2009), many of the music fans we caught up with in Times Square stood on two sides of the line. Some were willing to forget the past and enjoy the music for what it is, while others were not yet ready to forgive. “They’re both really good artists. I like Chris Brown a lot. He was down at the bottom during that time and then he came back up,” James Hauser told MTV News. “So he’s starting to do better.” Cassy Cnegt pointed out the negative attention it could bring to both artists, rehashing a personal story line that doesn’t seem to end. “I think there’s going to be a lot of bad publicity about why she’s doing it,” she said. Another fan, Billy Titus, added, “His music’s all right, but I think that she can do a lot better by herself than be with him.” Jean-Yves thinks their collaborations show how far their relationship has come. “The fact that they’re able to work together is a good sign for Chris Brown, as opposed to the animosity that was there before.” However, Aliyyah notes that it’s difficult to separate the music from the events. “Personally, I think it’s a little bit awkward for them in terms of their relationship, because he did hit her and the world knows that, so it kind of sends a weird message to her fans — especially her women fans — to still support him in that way, but I guess it’s not our life,” she said, adding that Brown has built up a “bad boy” reputation and that he may be trying to get Rihanna to take him back. While music fans stand on both sides of the complex issue, one domestic violence expert tells MTV News that seeing these two artists work together again is “not surprising.” “I don’t know what the message [of the songs] is. I would like the message to be: ‘People can change, and I will never be treated that way again and I will never treat anyone that way again.’ If they had released a song saying, ‘This is what this represents for us,’ that would be such a much more fabulous, powerful story than not saying a word,” Rita Smith, the executive director for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, said. “The content of the songs seems to be more in-your-face than something about, ‘We’re collaborating on something because we care about the way people treat each other.’ That would have been the message that would have been nice to come out of this very public and tragic incident.” What do you think of Chris Brown and Rihanna’s recent collaborations? The lady is blessed with brains and buns… According to RadarOnline reports : The honeymoon is over for Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel — before it even began. Since they got engaged over the holidays, the couple have been butting heads over everything from hammering out their prenup to becoming parents. And JT’s serial cheating throughout their four-year romance is a big issue. “She thinks if he strays during the marriage, she should be royally compensated,” says an insider. “She wants a fidelity clause in the prenup giving her at least $500,000 if he does.” But Justin, 31, is offering a cash settlement with no fidelity clause or alimony, adds the source. “But Jess won’t budge.” The A-Team babe, 29, also insists that they hold off on starting a family. “If he’s faithful for several years, maybe she’ll agree to have a baby,” says the insider. “She doesn’t trust him 100 percent yet. Jessica figures if she gets fat during pregnancy, he’ll cheat again.” Damn it sounds like these two might not even make it down the aisle… Where there is no trust, can there really be any love? Hi Haters: The Obamas In Hot Water For Making It Rain On All Of Their Family Vacations

The Obamas and their vacations are causing some issues. Conservative pundits are putting the Obamas over the coals for the number of family vacations they have taken. Reportedly, the Obamas have traveled 16 times in the three years they’ve been in the White House, and Republican and conservative naysayers are lambasting the reported costs of the trips, even though Obama’s predecessor, former President George W. Bush, took far more vacation days with his family. On Monday, the Washington Examiner reported the number of vacations the First Family has taken since 2009, mentioning that Bush himself took 30 such trips during his third year in office. The Examiner’s take on Bush’s vacations were that they happened stateside at his ranch in Texas whereas the Obamas’ trips have traipsed the globe. The Examiner further alleges that critics on both sides of the aisle are not happy with the extravagant spending the Obamas have done on vacationing to public vacation areas in comparison to Bush doing smaller scale jaunts on his own property. They also claim that it is a greater cost to the public, when the Obamas travel publicly. The piece also mentioned a Hawaii Reporter article that said the Obamas’ Christmas vacation last year cost more than $1 million. We see both sides here. Bush took way more vacations than Obama did, but his were cheaper. Of course, George W. had a crapload more money than Obama to spend. Maybe Obeezy can take some cheaper trips and call it a day. Ho sit down … Usher reportedly acted like a top class diva earlier last weekend when he visited a restaurant in Hollywood: The ‘Climax’ singer rolled up to the Cleo restaurant in the Redbury Hotel with an entourage of about 10 people, but he wasn’t in the mood to be friendly with the people who would be serving the large group. A source told NY Post’s Page Six that Usher kept his sunglasses on all night – even throughout the dinner – so that he wouldn’t have to make contact with the wait staff. “Apparently the staff was not allowed to speak to him directly. In February 2011, 21 debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with first-week sales of 352,000 copies. My name is Deema, I’m 14, Saudi and I’m a proud Belieber since 2009. I haven’t met Justin or seen him but getting a tweet from him meant more than the world to me. To just have him notice me, even over Twitter, was beyond amazing. I’m sharing this to let all of you know that if you Never Say Never then your dreams WILL come true.  On 30/1/2012 it was the best day of my life. It was finally the day that Justin noticed me. In the morning when I woke up and went on Twitter, I just suddenly got this gut feeling that I was going to get noticed that day. I’ve had that feeling before but this time it was different. I felt like it was actually going to happen so I was thinking positive the entire day and thinking in my head ‘Never Say Never’ and ‘Believe’. That day, Arab Beliebers were planning to trend ‘Arab World Is Waiting For Justin’ and it worked, we got it trending!  It was up for a while. I was on Justin’s Twitter page, so if he tweeted I would know quickly and when I saw the ‘(1)’ on the tab, I went on his page. I’m not gonna lie, I usually spam him with tweets, so he could notice me because that was the only thing I wanted, but this time I only tweeted him ONCE . I tweeted him ‘you saw our TT?’ and I waited for maybe 30 seconds then I saw that he had a new tweet. I clicked on it then I just couldn’t believe my eyes. My name ‘BiebrauhlSchwag’ was actually there! Justin Bieber actually tweeted me! That second my heart started beating so fast, I thought it was a dream but it wasn’t. He tweeted me ‘yes and we are gonna make it happen on the #BELIEVE tour’ so not only did Justin tweet me, but he also said that he’s coming to the Arab World for BELIEVE! I was more than happy i can’t even put into words what I felt but I’ll just put it this way  ‘every feeling I ever felt before < THAT FEELING’   I  couldn’t have asked for something better. Us Arab Beliebers didn’t experience the My World Tour but we are all ecstatic that at least some of us are going to experience the Believe Tour! I was getting SO much love from Arab Beliebers that day it made me cry even more than I was. I had the biggest smile on my face when Justin tweeted but the fact that loads of Arab Beliebers were sending me so much love made it so much better. They told me that I made their day and I put the biggest smiles on their faces, nothing can beat that. Well to start off this story, I have been a HUGE fan of Justin’s since day one. Before he was even famous. Living in  Tennessee , you’d never think that someone as big as Justin Bieber would shoot a music video in your home town. I never really had hope or even thought that one day I’d be in the same town as Justin Bieber. On September 28, 2011 that all changed. I had just gotten home from school and it was around 4:00pm. I went on Facebook and started seeing all these statuses about how Justin Bieber was downtown Franklin and people kept posting pictures of them with Selena at Chik-fil-a. Not even grasping what was going on, I screamed at the TOP of my lungs and told my mom we had to go. My mom, loving Justin almost as much as I do, hopped in the car and we were in downtown Franklin in minutes. Turns out, he was shooting a music video for ‘Mistletoe’ and no one was allowed to be close enough to the set to see Justin. So, my clever friends (that I met up with there) and I decided we’d go to the back of the store he was shooting in front of and see what was going on. There we saw the beautiful shinning black tour bus of our future husband. We started balling. It wasn’t even Justin, just his bus, but any trace of him was unbelievable. It is about 4:45 and only about 15 people had found the tour bus. Waiting for a spark of Bieber, we just stood outside there talking. Then all of the sudden my mom notices Selena. She had her car pull up, but before she gets in we yell, “Hey Selena!” and she politely waves back and smiles. By the way, that girl is FLAWLESS without a trace of makeup on. Anyway so she gets in her car and rides off. By this time, we had talked to Ryan Good and Kenny and we were drying to see Justin. It is now around 5:30ish and so many people have arrived around the bus, the security guards had to put barriers up but luckily we were front and center! Justin had been no where to be found but suddenly I hear the biggest scream come from the other side of the tour bus. That was a Justin scream. Before I knew it, Bieber was walking 10 feet in front of me with his “people” around him. I couldn’t help but burst into tears. I was so close to my inspiration. We decided to start chants and sing his songs at the top of our lungs! After this we see Jazzy (cutest girl ever) and then eventually Justin’s dad and later that night his beautiful mommy. This goes on until about 8:30pm. And at this time Justin accidentally left the blinds open on the bus and we saw him change his shirt hahaha! So at this time it starts to POUR down rain. But do you think I cared? Not at all. Standing in the rain chanting and singing to Justin, I was having the time of my life. Long story short I ended up seeing him 4 other times walking to and from his tour bus. Let me tell you that boy is even cuter in person! Needless to say, that was my Bieber experience. From 4:30pm-12am, I got to fulfill my Bieber craving. Even though I never talked to him face to face it was enough for me. Of course I would like to meet him but I really felt a connection with Justin and you could tell he really cares for his fans. He wanted us to stay safe outside and not get sick from the cold rain. He is such a sweetheart and I just want you all to know that he truly wishes everyone could have a Bieber Experience. I know he’d do anything to make it happen. By Zachary Swickey Bon Iver wins Best New Artist at the 2012 Grammy Awards Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Like Arcade Fire ‘s surprise Album of the Year win at last year’s Grammys , Bon Iver taking home Best New Artist on Sunday night (February 12) over more established artists like Nicki Minaj was bound to raise a few eyebrows. And when you asked “Who are Arcade Fire?” in 2012, we had you covered, and we’ve been following Wisconsin singer Justin Vernon (the man behind Bon Iver) for quite some time — long before he snagged BNA and Best Alternative Album at this year’s ceremony. Quite the pleasant surprise for the under-the-radar folk singer, who recently became the face of a Bushmills whiskey ad to boot. Bon Iver’s second, self-titled disc was released in early 2011 but is still clearly getting the attention it deserves. He may have made a few public derogatory comments about the Grammy Awards ceremony itself, but that didn’t sway the voters or the singer from showing up. To put his “underground” status into perspective: Bon Iver debuted at #2 in June 2011 on sales of just under 104,000, but their total album sales to date (just over 357,000) are nothing compared to a powerhouse-seller like Adele’s 21 . A helpful primer on Justin Vernon/ Bon Iver: The former All-State high school football star and World Religion college major began his career playing in the jazzy party band Mount Vernon, which transitioned into DeYarmond Edison, formed with some old high school pals who all moved to North Carolina in 2005 to spread their musical wings. A year later, things fell apart with his band and his girlfriend, just as he was laid low by a vicious bout of mono, driving Vernon back to Eau Claire for some physical and psychic healing. He holed up in isolation in a deer-hunting log cabin built by his dad in the woods in northwestern Wisconsin and began writing the high and lonesome songs that would become For Emma. After months spent drinking and watching “Northern Exposure” DVDs, he alighted on the name Bon Iver, which is a French phrase used as a greeting in the show that translates to “good winter.” The tunes he recorded were intended as a demo, but once they got some blog love, he was signed to indie Jagjaguwar, and For Emma was released in May 2008. The album became an indie sensation, and its mix of acoustic folk and manipulated, Auto-Tuned vocals not only landed him on the “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” soundtrack, but also on a number of songs from Kanye West’s Grammy-nominated My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Video: Watch Highlights From The 2012 Grammy Awards Even as his star was rising, Vernon kept collaborating with a number of other artists, lending his voice to the indie supergroup Gayngs, playing in the side project Volcano Choir and hooking up with English singer James Blake recently on the song “Fall Creek Boys Choir.” Bon Iver continued to be his main focus, so Vernon built his own cabin to record his self-titled project, again just outside of Eau Claire, turning what used to be an indoor pool into a recording studio where he tracked the songs mostly by himself. (The live version of the band includes a drummer, guitarist and bassist.) The denser, 10-track album featured help from a number of collaborators, including renowned session player and pedal steel maestro Greg Leisz, as well as a number of percussionists and horn and string players.
