Taylor Swift Is ‘A Pretty Normal Girl,’ Emma Stone Says

At the country/pop star’s urging, Stone talks about her secret baking skills during MTV’s Sneak Peek Week. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Emma Stone Photo: MTV News Emma Stone and Taylor Swift are best gal pals. Stone has opened up about Swift in the past, revealing that the superstar “has such a sick sense of humor,” and when Stone sat down for a Q&A about “The Help” during MTV’s Sneak Peek Week , she divulged a bit more about their relationship. So is Stone digging Swift’s latest album, Speak Now ? “I am indeed. I was lucky enough to hear it pretty early on, so it’s so exciting for it to be out and own the songs instead of just be singing them [in my head],” she dished, sharing that just because Swift is one of the biggest pop stars in the world doesn’t mean she’s at all critical of her friends who can’t sing as well as her. “Taylor’s a pretty normal girl,” Stone said. ” … She’s not [like], ‘I am one of the world’s most popular singers.’ ” Stone’s kind words came shortly after an email was read to her from her superstar pal who wanted to know more about her love of baking. “I’ve been baking at least once a day,” she shared, revealing some of the sweet treats she’s been making the past few months. While she’s got some sweet skills when it comes to confections, when she attempts to bake for a large group, the results aren’t as delicious. “I made 60 biscuits once for a party,” she said. “They didn’t turn out so great, though. I think in bulk I’m a little subpar.” Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ? Find out June 5, when the 20th annual show airs live at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Nas Calls Odd Future’s Frank Ocean ‘New, Fresh’

‘I hear what he’s sayin’, and I relate,’ Queens MC tells MTV News about collaborating with the ‘Novacane’ singer. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Nas Photo: Jason Kempin/ Getty Images Everyone loves OFWGKTA. In an exclusive sit-down with MTV News, Nas spoke on his upcoming work with Odd Future singer/songwriter Frank Ocean . In April, the Illmatic rapper tweeted , “In the studio with my little n—a @frank_ocean,” and just last week he opened up to Sway about the collaboration and Ocean’s appeal. “He’s new, he’s fresh. He doesn’t sound fly-by-night. The moment you hear it — I hear what he’s sayin’, and I relate. He got me as soon as I heard it,” Nas said. The Queensbridge MC, who, like Ocean, is signed to Def Jam, feels that the 23-year-old talent has already proved he has chops. “He’s a Def Jam artist that’s been slept-on and he’s proven himself. He’s proven himself and I think he has a lot to offer,” the rapper explained. “We met, he played some music and we’re excited. We’ll see what happens. Nothing’s totally complete, but we have started recording some things.” Frank Ocean has earned critical acclaim thanks to the release of Nostalgia, Ultra, a free Internet album he released on his Tumblr page in February. The album’s de facto single, “Novacane,” has gained momentum, debuting at #65 this week on Billboard ‘s R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. In addition to Nas, the singer has been in the studio writing for Justin Bieber, Brandy and John Legend and recently had a session with Beyonc

Kim Kardashian Shills for New Fragrance

On Saturday night, somehow, some way, Kim Kardashian overcame the torment she faces about her body and faced the public. She did so on behalf of her new fragrance, “Gold,” which she says reminds her of her late father and “other happy times in my childhood.” “To me, summer is sexy, beachy and glamorous with thoughts turning to romantic evenings,” Kardashian told People at the launch of the perfume outside Miami. “I wanted something powerful yet not too sweet. I got stressed out while developing the scent because I wanted it to be just perfect.” Claiming to embrace her curvy side (for these few seconds, at least), Kim added that she designed the bottle to be “sleek and round” in order to “represent me” and recommended it to fans from personal use: “I spray myself before I go out. The fragrance makes me feel sexy.” [Photo: Johnny Louis/WENN]

Ivanka Trump: Pregnant, Posing Like Playboy Bunny

This pregnant Ivanka Trump Playboy-style shot taken for, of all places, Harper’s Bazaar (which also features Britney Spears this month) is a little unusual. On the one hand, the picture accompanying their Ivanka interview is just strange. Why the Playboy juxtaposition? On the other, however, it’s gorgeous. Pose on top of a building? Check. Flawless hair and makeup? Check. Beautiful smile? Check. Great heels? Check. Perfect baby bump? Adorable check. Donald Trump sure generates a lot of controversy, but here’s one thing he created (by some miracle of genetics) that everyone can appreciate.

Taylor Swift Remains Hopeful

It hasn’t worked out with Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer or Taylor Lautner . But Taylor Swift remains a romantic at heart. In a new interview with InStyle , the singer is asked about her take on romance and the fact that she pens so many songs about ex-boyfriends. “There are no rules when it comes to love,” she says. “I just try to let love surprise me because you never know who you’re going to fall in love with. You never know who’s going to come into your life – and for me, when I picture the person I want to end up with, I don’t think about what their career is, or what they look like. I picture the feeling I get when I’m with them.” But have the failed relationships taken a toll on her outlook? Dampened Swift’s aspirations for love? No way, she says. “I’m really a daydreamer… When it comes to ‘happily ever after,’ I always have a tendency to write a happy ending to my songs. That’s probably wishful thinking on my part.”

Young Jeezy, Polow Da Don, Jazze Pha Accused Of Owing Thousands In Unpaid Studio Fees

While their songs continue to grow more and more popular, a number of artists in Atlanta are accused of owing thousands of dollars in unpaid fees for some of their biggest hits. According to CBS Atlanta , recording engineer Tony Terrebonne has confirmed that producer Polow Da Don owes more than $20,000 in unpaid studio services and attorneys fees. Terrebonne said $8,000 of that is for his work on the Chris Brown hit “Forever” and he’s owed an additional $480 for Usher’s “Love In The Club.” According to Terrebone this isn’t his first issue with the Zone 4 head, who previously owed him $50,000 causing him to move in with his parents and sell his car to make up for the loss. In addition to Da Don, Young Jeezy and Producer Jazze Pha are also reportedly guilty of not making payments. Since CBS published their story, Butler received $20,000 from Young Jeezy’s YJ Entertainment and  Zumpano received about $2,000 from TSG Financial Management who represents Jazze Pha. Bad Meets Evil Producers Tease ‘Top-Secret’ Eminem/ Royce Da 5’9" EP

‘The album is dope. That’s all I can tell you about it,’ Denaun Porter tells Mixtape Daily. By Rob Markman Eminem and Royce Da 5′ 9″ Photo: Courtesy of Tim Westwood Behind the Beats: Denaun Porter, Havoc, DJ Khalil and Bangladesh Eminem is looking to thrill hip-hop fans once again. Earlier this week, it was announced that Shady Records will release a joint EP featuring Em himself and fellow Detroit lyricist Royce Da 5’9″, under the group moniker Bad Meets Evil. But fans aren’t the only ones excited about the upcoming project. Producers Denaun Porter, Mobb Deep’s Havoc, DJ Khalil and Bangladesh have all been tapped to provide beats for the project and seem to be pretty pumped for the final product, which is set to drop June 14. “The album is dope. That’s all I can tell you about it,” said Porter when Mixtape Daily caught up with him at his Detroit studio. (Big Mixtape shout-out to photographer Patrick Daly.) The idea for a Bad Meets Evil EP first came about while Porter and Royce were working on Royce’s solo album. “We had one song and it turned into, ‘Yo, what do you think about getting Em on this record?’ ” Denuan recalled. Soon, Royce and Em were bouncing ideas back and forth, and more producers were eventually brought into the fold. Havoc, who also worked on Eminem’s Recovery, submitted a number of tracks to the Shady camp, but initially had no idea what Em and Royce were cooking up. “A couple of months ago I got hit up and they told me that they’re using another track for some future project,” he said. “So I found out along with everybody else what it was actually for, because they like to keep things top-secret.” West Coast beatsmith DJ Khalil has been a longtime fan of the Bad Meets Evil duo and has fond memories of buying Em and Royce’s first collaborative 1999 single, “Nothin’ to Do.” “I remember buying the 12-inch back in the day when I was DJ’in’,” he said. “It’s like a classic; I still have the vinyl.” Bangladesh , like Havoc, didn’t learn that he was going to be on the EP until recently. “I ain’t know that [Eminem] even had this beat, I didn’t even know he liked the beat. I ain’t know I was gonna be on this EP until probably like two weeks ago.” The producers couldn’t say much in terms of song detail, but Bangladesh did confirm that his track has a vocal sample in the hook, while Havoc said his beat has an eerie feel and sounds like, “You’re going down a dark hall with a whole bunch of monks just screamin’ at you.” Denuan, an original member of D12 and a longtime friend and collaborator of both Em and Royce, is perhaps the most thrilled about the upcoming Bad Meets Evil project. “I was happy to see it because I thought the songs that they did back in the day was dope.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines .
