Poor thang! Bravo checked you boo We reported about the rumors that Sheree Whitfield’s days as a Real Housewife of Atlanta were numbered, and she’s been told exactly how many days she has left on the hit reality show… ZERO! After weeks of speculation, news broke today that Sheree Whitfield got the ole’ heave ho from the reality show after four seasons: The reality star told Wetpaint.com that she felt her time on the Bravo series had run its time and so she had chosen to leave — but RadarOnline.com can exclusively report, that Sheree was actually fired — for being a diva! “After four solid seasons of helping Bravo build the show into its most successful Housewives franchise, I have decided to leave. The direction the show is going in is no longer a fit for my lifestyle. I’m tired of the fighting and the cattiness,” Sheree told Wetpaint.com. “I want to be part of something that empowers and inspires women to not only be healthy, but to treat themselves with respect. I wish the rest of the women the best of luck. I’m thrilled to say I’m now a free agent and am already fielding offers.” However, our source tells a very different story, one not so favorable to the Southern born socialite. “Sheree was fired,” the source says. “She was demanding more money and that didn’t go over well with show executives. They are tired of dealing with her diva attitude and demands.” The 42-year-old single mother of three was often captured on TV during her rigorous daily fitness regimen, arguing with her ex husband over child support and debuting her She By Sheree clothing line – all of which the show’s producers found less than exciting for primetime. “Executives think she’s just boring and they want someone new on the show,” the source says. On the upside, Sheree will have more time to dedicate towards her “Neverland” mansion, dating fake doctors and working on her She by Sheree fashions for Goodwill. Source More On Bossip! You can’t be serious : The head of the Southern Baptist Convention’s public policy arm condemns the response of many black leaders to the Trayvon Martin case as “shameful.” Some black pastors within the nation’s largest Protestant denomination say Richard Land’s comments are setting back an effort to broaden the faith’s appeal beyond its traditional white, Southern base. Land says he stands by his assertion that President Barack Obama “poured gasoline on the racialist fires” when he addressed Martin’s slaying and that Obama, the Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rev. Al Sharpton have used the case “to try to gin up the black vote for an African American president who is in deep, deep, deep trouble for re-election.” Land, who is white, said in an interview he has no regrets about his remarks. He said he understands why the case has touched a nerve among black leaders, but he also defended the idea that people are justified in seeing young black men as threatening: A black man is “statistically more likely to do you harm than a white man.” “Is it tragic that people react that way? Yes. Is it unfair? Yes? But it is understandable,” he said. The comments come as the Southern Baptist Convention is trying hard to diversify its membership and distance itself from a past that includes support of slavery and segregation. A quick update on the flurry of Sundance deal-making of recent days, with well-received documentaries and less acclaimed but star-driven (read: marketable) narratives sitting pretty with distribution agreements. Will this be, as pundits predicted, a high-volume buying year in Park City? This list will be updated as more films reach distribution deals this week at Sundance, where smaller hits (i.e. Beasts of the Southern Wild ) and high profile pieces (Spike Lee’s Red Hook Summer , which screens tonight) have piqued buyer interest. The documentary field is especially strong so far, with Searching for Sugar Man , The Queen of Versailles , Kirby Dick’s The Invisible War , and West of Memphis having already screened to warm responses, while a host of narratives featuring name actors have also shown promise. Searching for Sugar Man (Sony Classics) – The documentary about 1960s musician Rodriguez played well to critics and was snatched up by SPC for a reported six figures . The Queen of Versailles (Magnolia Pictures) – Another well-received doc, Lauren Greenfield’s examination of Florida real estate mogul David Siegel was picked up by Magnolia on Friday. Black Rock (LD Distribution) – Katie Aselton’s thriller about three female friends (Aselton, Lake Bell, Kate Bosworth) surviving a weekend getaway gone wrong was the first Midnight selection to seal a deal, partnering with newbie venture LD Distribution. The Words (CBS Films) – Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, and Jeremy Irons lead a cast of recognizable stars in this literary drama about a writer (Cooper) who claims credit on someone else’s manuscript and is confronted by its real author, so it’s easy to see why buyers were interested. CBS Films reportedly made the most expensive buy of the fest so far, laying down $2 million for the film. Whether or not that move was smart remains to be seen, as this first review over at The Playlist is less than encouraging.
