Britney Spears Concert Special: 3 Can’t-Miss Moments

Get a sneak peek of the Femme Fatale special before it airs Saturday on Epix. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears Photo: MTV News & Docs Light your vanilla candles and snuggle under the covers: The Britney Spears concert special drops this weekend! Filmed at the Toronto stop of her Femme Fatale Tour, the special — which airs Saturday on Epix at 8 p.m. ET/PT — puts every fan in the front row. Look out for cameos from Nicki Minaj and Sabi, killer dancing, beautifully designed costumes, elaborate stage setups and a set list that even the biggest Britney critic couldn’t help but shake their groove thing to. In a sea of can’t-miss moments, there are definitely several standouts. Lucky for you, we’ve rounded them up! Britney Singing “Don’t Let Me Be the Last to Know” It’s rare these days to see Britney Spears show her soft side, but she takes a break from the nonstop, fist-pumping music during the spectacle that is the Femme Fatale Tour and kicks it old-school, showing us she still has the heart and soul to bust out a power ballad. The Short Films These glossy, dark and incredibly fashionable cinematic clips follow the Femme Fatale herself as she gets into risky situations, being pursued by dangerous men with even more dangerous intentions. Of course, Spears isn’t all that innocent herself, giving the boys a run for their money in the bad department. They don’t call her the Femme Fatale for nothing. The Lap Dance Over the course of her tour, Britney has chosen one lucky guy for a very special dance , and the lucky guy at the Toronto tour stop can watch his dance on loop forever. Brit made that gentleman, named Alex, very happy when he was picked from a sea of devotees to get a private lap dance from Britney and her sexy backup dancers during “Leather and Lace.” The special hits DVD and Blu-ray on November 21. Backstreet Boy Howie D will join Spears on the Femme Fatale Tour before it wraps up December 10 in Puerto Rico. What tour moments are you hoping are in the special? Let us know in the comments! La Toya Jackson Demands MSNBC Yank Dr. Conrad Murray Documentary

La Toya Jackson is irate over the documentary featuring Dr. Conrad Murray to air on MSNBC. She’s demanding it be pulled out of respect for her brother Michael. The late pop singer’s sister says the controversial documentary, which will air tomorrow, essentially gives “a murderer and convicted felon … celebrity status.” Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter, not murder, but MJ’s estate and fans are still understandably upset about the Conrad Murray documentary . La Toya fired off a letter to MSNBC, claiming it’s outrageous that Michael cannot defend himself against Murray’s claims, of which there are apparently many. Some of Murray’s comments about MJ in the film, taken during the run-up to his trial, which ended in a guilty verdict earlier this week, are extremely critical. La Toya says Murray will profit from “homicidal acts that left my family without a brother, my niece and nephews without a father, my parents without a son …” La Toya wants the network to shelve it, but MSNBC has no plans to, and insists that Dr. Conrad Murray’s legal team didn’t get any money, directly or indirectly. There are reports out today that MSNBC funded Murray’s legal defense in return for the rights to air the documentary, but TMZ sources say that is simply untrue. In fact, Murray’s lead attorney Ed Chernoff is about to leave the case – possibly even before an appeal is filed – because the Murray case almost put him under. Murray reportedly got $1 for his participation in the documentary, but there could be loopholes, such as a side deal to give him share in profits from the show. La Toya can be heard cheering the verdict below. Classy. Dr. Conrad Murray Verdict Reading

The Real Reason Kate Middleton Refused Peanuts …

Does passing on peanuts really mean Kate Middleton is pregnant ? The pregnancy rumor mill began turning hard last week when the 29-year-old Duchess declined to sample peanut paste during a UNICEF visit to Denmark. Although Kate Middleton is not allergic to peanuts, pregnant women are often advised to avoid peanut products to prevent allergies in their babies-to-be. So … Naturally, coupled with the belly touching seen below, this sparked major royal baby speculation. But a royal insider says (shockingly) it may not be the case. “She’s not comfortable eating in front of cameras,” the insider said. “What if she didn’t like it and made a face? That expression would then be on every newspaper.” What a fair, valid and seemingly obvious explanation. No fun! A spokesman for the couple says that the policy is “to never confirm or deny [pregnancy] rumors,” but a palace insider insists: “If and when there is an announcement to make, officially, it will be made by the palace as soon as it’s safe to.” Long story short … don’t hold your breath for it anytime soon.

Conrad Murray Documentary To Air Friday

‘Michael Jackson and the Doctor’ will premiere on MSNBC. By Gil Kaufman Dr. Conrad Murray Photo: Al Seib/ Getty Images Just five days after his conviction on a felony count of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson , a documentary about Dr. Conrad Murray will air on MSNBC. The special, “Michael Jackson and the Doctor,” will include footage of Murray insisting that Jackson “begged and pleaded” for the surgical anesthetic propofol. It will hit the airwaves a few days after Murray settled into Los Angeles County Jail , where he is awaiting a November 29 sentencing hearing following his conviction. “He asked me, ‘Please, please, Dr. Conrad … I need some milk [propofol] so that I can sleep,” Murray says in the special, according to MSNBC . “If I don’t get any sleep today, I cannot perform, I cannot do anything.” After nearly 10 hours of deliberation, the jury in the Murray case came back with a unanimous guilty verdict, agreeing the doctor acted in a fashion that caused Jackson’s death. The seven-man, five-woman jury made the decision after 49 witnesses and some bruising testimony from prosecution experts lashing Murray, a cardiologist with clinics in Texas and Las Vegas who was recruited in 2009 by Jackson to help the then-50-year-old star stay healthy in the run-up to his planned 50-date comeback tour, This Is It. The prosecution brought a long list of medical experts and emergency-room doctors to the stand to testify that Murray had not followed proper procedure in dealing with Jackson when the singer was in distress on the morning of June 25, 2009. They also presented evidence that the care Murray provided for Jackson in the weeks and months leading up to that fateful morning were substandard or outside the bounds of legal and ethical requirements. The witnesses concluded that Murray lacked the proper monitoring equipment to administer the surgical anesthetic propofol to Jackson, an off-label use of the intravenously delivered drug that was reportedly employed to help chronic insomniac Jackson get to sleep. According to TMZ , Murray signed on for the documentary back in 2009 just after MJ’s death, and it will feature scenes of infighting among his defense team. The MSNBC special will chronicle the trial from the perspective of Murray — who did not take the stand in the trial — and his defense team, including an interview with the doctor about the day Jackson died, in which he shares details about his relationship with the pop star. In one segment, Murray describes Jackson’s appearance the morning he died, saying the singer looked “hysterical” and was so distraught he resembled his ghoulish alter-ego from the iconic 1982 “Thriller” video. Cameras have followed Murray and his defense team for two years in compiling the film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie’s distributor also acquired the rights to an exclusive interview Murray gave to British broadcaster Steve Hewlett on October 30, which is reportedly the only interview Murray plans to give on the trial. “I think in many ways, there were some mirror images in our lives,” Murray says about MJ in the special. “I’ve seen him cry so many times. He lived a life greater than a hundred years of pain of any human.” The verdict is in on the Conrad Murray trial. Stick with MTV News for continued coverage, updates and analysis on MTVNews.com . 5 Suggestions for Amazing, 3-D Adaptations of Victorian Novels

Remakes often suck — but when they’re total stylistic upheavals of the source material, I’m more optimistic. Would you see a whacked-out, space-age remake of a classic period piece like Little Dorrit ? I would! Or better yet, this weekend’s ridiculous, steampunk The Three Musketeers in 3-D? It puts the “rich” in Richelieu and the “dumbass” in Dumas. I dig it! Ahead, we investigate five other Victorian novels worth revisiting in a fulgent 3-D experience. Put on your special glasses, Heathcliff.
