‘Breaking Dawn’ Last Day ‘Wasn’t Super Dramatic’

‘It was surprising, actually, how little we had to say when we finished,’ Nikki Reed tells MTV News. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli Photo: MTV News “Breaking Dawn” has wrapped, the trailer has officially debuted at the MTV Movie Awards , and the stars of “The Twilight Saga” are nearing the end of their years-long franchise. MTV News caught up with Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli outside the Gibson Amphitheatre after “Eclipse” won the Golden Popcorn for Best Movie. The Cullen trio chatted about the last day of shooting, saying it wasn’t as emotional as fans might have expected. “It was surprising, actually, how little we had to say when we finished, to be honest,” Reed said. “We know we’re going to see each other, so it wasn’t super dramatic.” Facinelli agreed, adding, “We have two more movies coming out, so it wasn’t so much of a goodbye as it was a ‘see ya later.’ ” According to the three “Twilight” stars, there was no big commotion made on their last day of filming “Breaking Dawn.” In fact, none of the stars even made a speech. “We should have a speech right now!” Facinelli suggested. “Kellan?” Lutz turned to his co-stars and deadpanned, “I worked the very last day, and I hate you mother—-ers. That’s my speech.” Though the stars of “The Twilight Saga” still have another year and a half until the second part of “Breaking Dawn” hits theaters, and then will have to make press rounds to promote the DVD and Blu-ray release, they still are willing to look into the future to what they will be doing for other projects. Or they’re willing to joke about it, at least. “Broadway musical, let’s do it,” Facinelli said with a laugh. ” ‘Carlisle on Ice.’ I can’t wait.” “I’ll buy a ticket,” Lutz offered. MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . President Obama Delivers Commencement Address At Booker T. Washington High School

Winners of White House’s 2011 Race to the Top Commencement Challenge got surprise of their lives at graduation ceremony. By James Montgomery President Obama meets with Booker T. Washington students Cassandra and Christopher Photo: Andrew Huang / MTV News & Docs Four years ago, Cassandra Henderson didn’t want to attend Booker T. Washington High School because, as she put it, “I thought the same as everyone else: that it was a bad school with nothing but bad people in it.” Now? Well, let’s just say she’s changed her opinion. That’s because, thanks to the commitment of Principal Alisha Kiner, the faculty and the students, not only has Booker T. Washington changed public opinion (posting math scores that are 20 percent higher and a 30 percent increase in graduation tends to do that), it has earned the attention of the nation, too, as the winner of the 2011 Race to the Top Commencement Challenge , a competition sponsored by Viacom, the Get Schooled Foundation and, oh yeah, the White House. Booker T. Washington students created a video that showed not only school pride, but the resiliency its students possess in the face of overwhelming odds. Booker T. Washington HS is not only located in Memphis, one of the nation’s poorest cities, but South Memphis has the 14th-highest crime rate in the country. And earlier this year, 20 percent of the school’s students’ homes were demolished in a citywide renewal plan. Still, in spite of all that, the school’s successes speak for themselves … which not only won them the nationwide competition, but meant that President Barack Obama would be coming to town to deliver the commencement speech at Booker T. Washington’s graduation ceremony on Monday (May 16). And understandably, students like Henderson were glad they stuck it out, not to mention proud of their school’s accomplishments. “It felt great,” she beamed. “For him to come to Booker T. Washington, this school people thought was terrible; for him to come to our graduation was a great honor and it brings hope to the school, it brings more students to the school, it changes the way people think about the school. Now they know what we’re all about here at BTW.” And as was the case last year, when Michigan’s Kalamazoo Central High School won the Race to the Top Challenge, Obama arrived in Memphis and was greeted by a select group of students — a group that included Henderson — who met him as he landed in Air Force One and rode in a 30-plus vehicle motorcade to the school’s graduation ceremony … a ride they’ll never forget. “We got to the airport and we got checked, then we waited for the airplane to land, and we watched Air Force One land, and the ladder came down, and Obama came out. Oh my gosh, I didn’t even cry — most people cry when they see him — I was just like, ‘Oh, wow!’ ” Henderson laughed. “And then we rode in his motorcade, and it was like we were the bosses. We were running the streets, nobody was getting past us. We were all saying, ‘We’re rolling with Obama!’ ” Also along for the ride was graduating senior Christopher Dean, who starred in Booker T. Washington’s winning video (“I tried to introduce myself, and he said ‘Stop, I know who you are! You’re Christopher Dean, I love your video!” Dean laughed). And once they arrived at graduation, Obama spoke to both students privately — and helped Dean straighten his tie — before surprising the rest of the student body before the ceremony took place. And he had Dean help him out in the surprise. “Our principal was giving [the graduating students] this speech, ‘This is how everyone needs to be,’ like she was going to be hard on them,” Dean explained. “Then I walked in and the president was behind me, and they went wild. When I brought him into the room, there were tears.” Dean then introduced Obama at the ceremony &#8212 but not before Obama gave him a little help. “Before I gave my speech, he could tell I was nervous, so he looked at me and was like, ‘You know what? You got it. Do it for me,’ Dean said. “And I knew I couldn’t mess up. These words were going to flow like water in the Mississippi River!” And for the students at Booker T. Washington, Obama’s surprise appearance was not only an added bonus to an already thrilling day, but it served as inspiration for a city that’s been down on its luck for a while now. And, hopefully, using Booker T. Washington High as an example, it can strive to be just a little bit better from now on. “I’m proud of my school and happy for my city. It was easy to play a role [in the winning video] once you’ve got peers like I have, and friends like I have … these are great people, and they deserve to have the President come here,” Dean said. “This city needed the help that he brings. What better place to come than Memphis? I love my school, I love my friends; we deserve it.” Related Photos President Obama Delivers Graduation Speech At Memphis High School

The King’s Speech Costumes Destroyed by Arsonist

A giant British costume collection that included several of The King’s Speech military uniforms was destroyed in a fire purportedly set by 29-year-old Christopher Donnachie, who was arrested. I’m sorry if any of this was spurred by Movieline’s fever dream where Helena Bonham Carter sets fire to Melissa Leo . This wasn’t our intention. The arson comes on the heels of the giant homosexual fire that ripped through The King’s Speech ‘s set when it was a gay porn hub . [ Contact Music ]

VIDEO: Used Car Salesman Actually Only Selling New Cars 2 Footage

Unlike that clever, slightly creepy commercial for the Lots-O-Huggin’ bear that popped up on the internet on the eve of the Toy Story 3 marketing blitz, no one’s going to mistake this over-the-top Cars 2 viral video for a legitimate ad. If the hammy acting and the not-so-subtle use of CGI don’t tip you off, the fact that a user named DisneyPixar posted it on You Tube still give it away. But if you play ball anyway, you’ll get to see a minute of new footage from Cars 2 !

Katy Perry’s ‘E.T.’ Video Look Inspired By Jellyfish, Stylist Says

‘I just wanted [Katy] to look really odd … but still fashionable,” Carol Beadle tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry in her “E.T.” music video Photo: Capitol Katy Perry leaves Candyfornia for outer space in her latest video, “E.T.” The otherworldly clip follows an alien woman played by the Teenage Dream singer as she falls to a planet to find her lost extraterrestrial lover. While fans are used to seeing Perry in dresses made from cupcakes and cotton candy, this time around she sports flowing gowns, metal body armor and lots of intricate makeup. Stylist Carol Beadle, who worked with director Floria Sigismondi on the style for the video, explained to MTV News that she wanted to take things to a more “avant-garde” level in the clip. “I just wanted [Katy] to look really odd, unreal if we could, but still fashionable,” she said. “I was looking at jellyfishes and amoebas; those words were constantly used and we wanted it to look like a flash of an amoeba and then it coming to life,” Beadle explained about the video’s fashion inspiration. “It’s like falling to the sky and the amoeba brought in the color palette and I wanted to hit it with a bit of color, so that it would pop. But to make it look 2011, it has to have a context and a reference point.” While Beadle kept Perry in mind when thinking up looks for the video, she also wanted to make sure that the fashions would fit the clip’s themes and story. “I tried to see her body type and her personality and how she’s perceived but, really, the main focus was on the director and I and making the story work and making her the lead,” she said. “I designed her first outfit and last outfit,” Beadle continued, adding about the flowing red dress Perry is first seen wearing, as she falls from space to the planet where her lover waits for her, “We wanted her to look like she was on fire and falling from the sky.” Soon the red dress becomes this “one massive white piece” by Viktor & Rolf, which, Beadle said, was “one of the most interesting pieces from the runway.” Perry’s next look is a flowing gown combined with metal pieces. “I built all the metal,” Beadle revealed. “All the skirts and stuff were designed and built by me.” While Perry went spacey glam in the video, her “E.T.” collaborator Kanye West kept his look decidedly Yeezy. “I went and talked to him and went through his things and his stylist had gone shopping,” Beadle said. “I’ve worked with him before [on ‘Love Lockdown’]. I did one of his other videos. He’s got very good style. I always find him very lovely. He’s got good taste, a good eye.” Related Videos MTV First: Katy Perry’s ‘E.T.’ Related Artists Katy Perry

‘Hangover Part II’ Trailer: Five Key Moments

First full trailer shows return of Ken Jeong as Leslie Chow. By Eric Ditzian Ken Jeong in “The Hangover Part II” Photo: Warner Bros. Kanye West’s “Dark Fantasy” playing during the trailer’s opening moments tells you everything you need to know about “The Hangover Part II”: “Can we get much higher?” Apparently we can. At least Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) can as they drop into Thailand — or “Thigh-land,” as Alan calls it — for Stu’s destination wedding. The “Hangover Part II” teaser trailer gave us a taste of the sort of madness the sequel to 2009’s blockbuster comedy would deliver. But the first full trailer, which popped up online Thursday evening, gives us a more robust — and occasionally more raunchy — idea of exactly how these three jokers once again end up effed up and racing to get back to their loved ones. Here are our picks for the five key moments from the trailer. The Worst Rehearsal-Dinner Speech Ever Stu should know that as soon as Alan gets up to give a speech in front of friends and family, things are not going to go well. No sooner does Alan say he can never speak of what happened in Las Vegas (during the events of the original film) then he proceeds to do just that. “This is not Stu’s first marriage. There was a whore in Las Vegas a couple of …,” he declares before being cut off. Besides being highly inappropriate and pretty darn funny, the speech lets us know that the storyline of the sequel takes place a few years after Vegas, perhaps in real time following 2009’s “Hangover.” Teddy Is Bad News Stu’s bride-to-be comes up with one unfortunate idea when she suggests the guys go out for a drink and take her little brother Teddy along. Cut to the next morning and, once again, one seriously vicious post-party hangover. Teddy is missing. The boys have somehow landed in Bangkok. And Stu can’t return to his bride until he locates her bro. Is Teddy the one responsible for dosing them with drugs and kicking off their misadventure? Alan promises that, unlike last time, it wasn’t him. Teddy seems a likely culprit. Although there’s also … Leslie Chow?! As Phil says when they find him in their dive of a hotel room, “Chow, what are you doing here?” That’s a great question. Well, apparently he is Alan’s plus one, whatever that entails. And according to Chow himself, “We had a sick night, bitches!” Though the way in which he figures into the plot remains to be seen, it’s great to see 2010 MTV Movie Award winner Ken Jeong back in the mix. Stu, Unleashed Blink and you’ll miss it, but around the two-minute mark, we get a glimpse of Stu going buck-wild on what looks to be the streets of Bangkok. Is this a peek at what happens before the hangover sets in? Or perhaps Stu lets loose a second time? It’s impossible to tell when exactly this scene takes place, since the left side of his face — the one that bears a Mike Tyson-esque tattoo — is not revealed to the camera. Call PETA! Let’s just put this out there: Director Todd Phillips digs masturbation humor. In “Hangover,” he had Galifianakis take advantage of a baby. In “Due Date,” he had Galifianakis do unclean things to a dog. And now, it’s a monkey’s turn: After hiding a water bottle under a monk’s robes, he has the animal simulate, well, let Zack explain: “When a monkey nibbles on a weenus, it’s funny in any language.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
