A.J. Pero Dies; Twisted Sister Drummer Was 55

A.J. Pero, the lead drummer for rock band Twisted Sister, was found dead on Friday in Poughkeepsie, New York. He was 55 years old. According to multiple outlets, Pero was found unresponsive on the group’s tour bus and pronounced dead soon afterward at a nearby hospital. It is believed he passed away from a heart attack. “The members of Twisted Sister are profoundly saddened to announce the untimely passing of our brother, AJ Pero,” the group announced on Facebook this afternoon. “The band, crew and most importantly the family of AJ Pero thank you for your thoughts and prayers at this time.” Pero joined Twisted Sister in 1982; departed the band in 1986; and returned in 1997. He played on all but one of the beloved hair metal band’s studio albums. Via statement, singer Dee Snider referred to Pero as “the final piece in a band that would become an international sensation, adding: “His sledgehammer assault on the drums helped drive Twisted Sister and I to greatness, and inspired me to rock every single show. My heart breaks knowing I will never feel the power of his beat behind me, or turn to see his face smiling broadly from the sheer joy he got from doing what he loved.” Celebrities We Lost in 2015 1. Bradley Cooper and Suki Waterhouse: It’s Over!

Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper and model Suki Waterhouse have recently called it quits after two years of dating, according to reports. Waterhouse, 22, attended the Oscars just last month with Cooper, 40, who was nominated for American Sniper . (Bradley’s mother was also there.) The lovebirds were first linked in March 2013 and made their public debut as a couple when she attended the premiere of American Hustle in December 2013. No word on why Cooper and Waterhouse split , and don’t expect it anytime soon. Suki has spoken about how they have always tried to stay very private. “I don’t talk about my boyfriend because it’s boring,” she said. “I think whatever I say will sound weird. But the truth is, if I start talking about him, I won’t be able to stop.” “And I don’t really want to talk about him, you know?” The product of the UK is making her own mark in the acting world, appearing in Insurgent , the second movie in the Divergent franchise, in theaters Friday. Rihanna has been making the media rounds to promote her new animated film, Home, and she recently sat down for a Time magazine interview alongside co-stars Jim Parsons and Steve Martin. When questioned about her favorite film as a child, RiRi answered with the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast. Asked why that film has stuck with her over the years, Queen Rih replied, I fell in love with the Beast. That’s pretty much been my dating record so far.” Now, clearly, the unlucky-in-love singer was making a joke at her own expense, but it’s hard to imagine she didn’t have her D-bag ex Chris Brown in mind when she made the remark. Granted, Rihanna is dating Leonardo DiCaprio these days (allegedly) and the beefed-up, bearded Leo is looking mighty beastly these days, but only one of her exes is known for flying into violent rages that could terrify an entire mansion full of anthropomorphic furniture. Scandal Season 4 Episode 16 Recap: It’s Good To Be Kink

Welcome back, Olivia Pope! On  Scandal Season 4 Episode 16 , our favorite fixer finally returned to doing what she does best: fixing everyone else’s problems. The fun Case of the Week centered on guest star Lena Dunham as an NC-17-rated gossip monger nicknamed “Kinky Sue,” who was ready and willing to dish on all of the city’s major sex secrets. Olivia, of course, would not stand for this, putting Sue in her place via a series of political machinations. But not before Sue actually inspired Liv to get her groove back, delivering a classic Shonda Rhimes monologue. “When did you become so weak?” she asked. “You and Ruth Bader Gisnburg were all we got…. you gave other women a contact high….. I thought you’d be brave, fearless and sexy, but you’re a dried-up prude.” Ouch. It hurt Olivia because it was so true. Abby, meanwhile, spelled out for Leo why this particular sex scandal would affect her far worse than him. She made her point especially clear by telling of how every story that has been written about her, despite all her accomplishments, starts and ends with him. She is defined by a man, no matter what she does. She is seen er the “property of Leo Bergen.” Another great speech from another strong woman. Then, of course there’s Russell, who may have come across a bit brazen for Olivia. But she explained it perfectly to Cyrus: she has to put those two other guys in her rear view mirror. She has to move forward. The sooner, the better. Elsewhere, Huck acted a bit shady and the term dustbuster sex was coined. Google it at your own risk. Wigged Out It was the moment that took How to Get Away with Murder from good to holy-cow-I-can’t-believe-the-show-went-there GREAT. Who knew Annalise Keating was wearing a wig this whole time? 2. Who Killed Sam? The main How to Get Away with Murder mystery from the first part of Season 1 was answered via flashback: It was Wes! With the trophy! In order to save Rebecca’s life! 3. Speaking of Rebecca… … she’s also dead, killed off on the How to Get Away with Murder Season 1 finale. By whom? Let the speculation begin! 4. Who Killed Lila? As for the mystery of who actually killed Lila Stangard, as it turns out, it wasn’t Sam after all. Well, not exactly. Sam just had Frank do it for him. The same-sex scenes between Connor and Oliver caused a mini uproar online, but were defended valiantly by Shonda Rhimes. 6. Jerry’s Death Sure, we’d only met Jerry, Fitz and Mellie’s oldest child, like, twice before he died, but that didn’t make his death or the reveal that Rowan killed the kid a) to get back at Fitz for taking his daughter away and b) to ensure Fitz got re-elected because it’s what Olivia wanted any less shocking. 16. It’s been almost four months since we first learned that  Farrah Abraham is dating Simon Saran and remarkably, they’re still going strong. Or perhaps we should say, they were going strong. Farrah has a way of messing up the relationships in her life by blurting out whatever nonsense pops into her head while talking to the press, and we’re guessing Simon won’t be too pleased to find out that she talked about his masturbation habits during a recent interview. “He has my sex toys!” Farrah excitedly told Radar Online. Bruce Jenner Nose Job: The Next Step in His Sex Change?

According to a new report, Bruce Jenner has taken yet another step toward becoming a woman. This one has nothing to do with any private parts, however, as sources tell TMZ Jenner has undergone a nose job. The procedure supposedly took place a few weeks ago and was meant to “soften” the star’s features, helping him look more feminine in the process. As he transitions genders, Jenner has altered his physical appearance in numerous ways. He’s grown his hair way out, of course, often wearing it in a ponytail; and he underwent a laryngeal shave in late 2013 to smooth out his Adam’s Apple. It was right around that time when the Bruce Jenner sex change chatter got started in earnest. Bruce has been undergoing hormone treatments for his major life change, which is apparently still very much a go. Various outlets claim Jenner is still intent on becoming a female, though he’s now angling to axe the reality show that would document this decision because he wants to be taken seriously as a transgender role model. That’s certainly admirable if true. If Jenner did get a nose job, he’s just the latest member of his famous family to go under the knife. The Voice Season 8 Episode 7 Recap: An Agonizing Choice

The Battle Rounds continued last night on NBC’s The Voice Season 8 Episode 7, with the coaches facing some difficult choices in terms of who to advance. Pharrell, in particular, seemed to agonize over one decision … Kimberly Nichole vs. Lowell Oakley (The Voice Battle Round) Kimberly Nichole vs. Lowell Oakley (Team Pharrell): Their duet on “Hound Dog” thoroughly flummoxed their coach, who took an eternity to declare a winner. Lowell was it. Somewhat surprisingly. Pharrell again crafted a terrific Battle Round performance, but one that assured he would cut loose a great talent. Luckily for the supremely strong Kimberly, she was stolen by Christina, who may have just landed one of the favorites to win this thing, by accident. Briar Jonnee vs. Caitlin Caporale (The Voice Battle Round) Briar Jonnee vs. Caitlin Caporale (Team Pharrell): This one wasn’t as challenging for their mentor. Both were good, but Caitlin was better. It showed. She won the battle, and no steal was used on Briar. Barry Minniefield vs. Jack Gregori (The Voice Battle Round) Barry Minniefield vs. Jack Gregori (Team Adam). Barry took this one rather easily (to us) and advanced to the Knockout Round with a victory over Jack. He’s “Feelin’ Alright” or better than alright after this effort. Katelyn Read vs. Treeva Gibson (The Voice Battle Round) Katelyn Read vs. Treeva Gibson (Team Christina): An unusual and slightly uneven but solid enough performance yielded a clear winner in Treeva. No steal was awarded to Katelyn, so she’s going home. Brenna Yaeger vs. Kelsie May (The Voice Battle Round) Brenna Yaeger vs. Kelsie May Team Blake): Not the best take on Reba’s “Fancy” by either singer, as both were a bit off at times and clearly nervous. Based on her potential, Brenna got the nod. No steal. India Carney vs. Clinton Washington (The Voice Battle Round) Clinton Washington vs. India Carney (Team Christina): Finally, a barn burner! India was incredible in winning this battle, but her rival also won acclaim. That was enough to keep Clinton on the program. Adam swooped in for the steal, meaning that both he and Christina ended the night by cutting one singer and adding another, better one to their rosters. Back in October of 2014,  Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was canceled by TLC after the world learned that June Shannon was dating the man convicted of molesting her eldest daughter. Mama June and family laid low for a while, but recently they’ve been back in the public eye in a big way…no pun intended. June and Honey Boo Boo recently appeared on The Doctors to discuss Honey Boo Boo’s eating habits . A week later, June was photographed working out with her new trainer, and she’s reportedly trying to land a spot on the Biggest Loser. You may have picked up on the theme here: Mama June is either serious about getting into shape, or she wants the world to think that she is, so that she can get back on TV. If June’s former almost-brother-in-law Lee “Uncle Poodle” Thompson is telling the truth about her diet, then it’s definitely the latter: “She never stays on diets for long,” Lee said when asked about June’s current health kick. “She gains the weight right back. She doesn’t eat in moderation. “She can eat about three boxes of chocolate-covered donuts in a day. She orders four 20-piece Chicken McNuggets from McDonald’s and eats as many as possible.” Uncle Poodle adds that the family’s diet is even worse than it appeared to be on their reality show. He says that trips to McDonald’s are a near-daily occurrence, and that 9-year-old Honey Boo Boo can polish off a 20-piece McNugget in one sitting. “[June] is not healthy and never has been,” Lee says. “She says she is sick all the time. She sleeps all day and stays up all night when she’s not working.” Thompson was also the one who revealed that June passes out drunk with alarming frequency, and she did so at his wedding last year…before the ceremony even began. We’ll take that any day over the uncreative, borderline racist nonsense of abysmal sitcoms such as 2 Broke Girls. And Glee also dealt with a real-life tragedy when Cory Monteith died , providing the series with a certain tragic gravitas as it nears its conclusion. Look for the musical comedy to pay homage to the late star on its series finale this Friday.
