Multiple co-hosts on The View showed their ignorance and their idiocy on Tuesday by making fun of Kelly Johnson during a particularly unfunny segment. Johnson represented Colorado at this year’s Miss America Pageant. Kelly Johnson Monologue Instead of showing off a talent such as singing, dancing or juggling, however, Johnson appeared on stage in her nurse’s uniform and talked about the challenges and the rewards of her profession. You can watch her speech above. Pretty cool, right? Nice and different and inspiring? Not according to The View. “There was a girl who wrote her own monologue and I was like ‘Turn the volume up, this is going be amazing, let’s listen,’” said Michelle Collins. “She came out in a nurse’s uniform and basically read her emails out loud and shockingly did not win.” Collins went on to say it was “hilarious.” Joy Behar then inquired as to why Johnson had a “doctor’s stethoscope on,” a remark that drew ire and consternation on Twitter. For the record, nurses around the world nearly all wear and use stethoscopes on a daily basis. They always have. In the end, Betty Cantrell was crowned Miss America 2016 , partly due to her opera singing. She gave an impressive performance and all… but why The View panelists chose to focus on a nurse’s inspiring speech, as opposed to the mere fact that beauty pageants (with evening gown and swimsuit competitions) still exist is rather depressing. Anyway, TMZ unearthed subscriber numbers that are staggering on a number of levels, most notably that 891,340 people signed up in 24 hours. If all of them paid, that’s more than $2.65 million for the Kards. A MONTH. It’s okay if you hurl violently, just aim away from your electronic device. Let’s hope Kylie’s getting paid on a revenue sharing basis, given each individual family member’s contribution to that total, though. The breakdown: Kylie: 74 percent!!!!! Khloe: 10.8 percent Kim: 9 percent Kendall: 5.6 percent Pretty amazing, and yet not at all. Earlier this week, former tennis star James Blake was arrested in NYC while standing outside of his hotel and waiting for a ride to take him to the US Open. It turned out to be a case of mistaken identity, aw police say Blake resembles a suspect in an identity theft ring. Blake has stated that he does not believe race was a factor, and he's accepted the NYPD's explanation for the incident. However, the 35-year-old has stated that he wants video of the incident to be released to the public so that all can see just how violent the officer's actions truly were. That video went public today, and it is now clear that Blake was certainly not exaggerating. The security camera footage shows the officer violently slamming Blake to the ground despite the fact that Blake shows no signs of resistance. Thus far, only minor disciplinary actions have been taken against the arresting officer, but many are hoping this video will change that.

We are saddened to report that former New York Giants safety and Super Bowl champion Tyler Sash has died. Iowa State’s medical examiner’s office confirmed the 27-year-old’s death yesterday, September 8. Authorities told media reporters that emergency services were called to the football star’s residence on Tuesday morning. At this time, foul play is not suspected in Tyler’s death . An autopsy will be performed today, Wednesday, September 9. From 2007 to 2010, Sash played for the Iowa Hawkeyes. He then played two seasons with the New York Giants, earning a Super Bowl ring in 2011. In a statement about his death, the Giants said, “We were all deeply saddened today to hear of the passing of Tyler. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tyler’s family and friends and all the Hawkeyes he was so proud to represent.” Former Iowa running back Paki O’Meara described Sash as a quiet guy who was enthusiastic on game day. O’Meara said, ”To think of somebody that was so selfless and gave so much, such a good guy, I’m just really shocked.” Sash’s professional football career came to a halt when he was suspended from the New York Giant for four games after testing positive for Adderall in 2012. The drug is a stimulant used to treat ADHD. He claimed he had a prescription for it, but that he wasn’t aware it was banned under NFL policy. He then left the team prior to the 2013 opener due to an injury. He and the Giants reached an injury settlement for a concussion he received during the preseason finale against New England. In May 2014, Sash was arrested in Oskaloosa, Iowa, after running from the police for four blocks while on a motorized scooter. He pleaded guilty to public intoxication and was fined $65. Kirk Ferentz, Iowa’s coach, canceled his weekly press conference on Tuesday. He later addressed Sash’s death in a statement. He said, “We are all very saddened to hear about the untimely loss of Tyler.” “It is always so difficult when it involves someone this young. Serena Williams faced off against her lifelong rival/partner in greatness Venus Williams at the US Open this evening, and triumphed once again — moving forward to the next round in the international competition. This win thrusts Serena into the semifinals of the U.S. Open, placing her only two matches away from a calendar Grand Slam. Her next match-up should prove fairly easy — Serena faces 43rd-ranked Roberta Vinci, a player she’s already beaten each of the four matches they’ve played.
