Brooke McCarter – the actor best known for his role in the 1987 teen vampire film The Lost Boys – has passed away at the age of 52. Sources close to the McCarter family say Brooke had been suffering from a genetic liver condition. In addition to The Lost Boys , McCarter starred in the cult favorite as Thrashin ‘ – a skateboarding film that helped launch the careers of Tony Hawk, Josh Brolin and the Red Hot Chili Peppers – as well as the John Belushi biopic, Wired . McCarter mostly kept away from the spotlight in the years that followed Lost Boys, but he remained active in the entertainment world until his death. After working as a drummer and music programmer for several years, McCarter returned to the world of film as a producer and a director of documentaries. Possibly as a result of his ongoing health problems, McCarter was frequently the subject of death rumors throughout his life. The actor always handled the macabre speculation with the gentle good humor for which he was known. Throughout his short career, McCarter shared billing with such famous names as Kieffer Sutherland, Jason Patric and Corey Feldman. Kim Kardashian West Eager To Lose Pregnancy Pounds Kim Kardashian West and her son Saint are home (well at Kris Jenner’s for the time being) from the hospital, but don’t expect tons of appearances just yet… According to NY Daily News Confidenti@al : Kim Kardashian has left Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where she gave birth to baby boy Saint West — but don’t expect to see her ample assets again for a long time, a source tells Confidenti@l. “She will not be showing herself until she’s in tip top shape,” a source tells us. “She went to (mom) Kris (Jenner’s house). She’s there with Kanye and North. And why would she leave? She has everything she needs there, so she won’t be showing her face.” In 2013, Kim waited six months before revealing her postbaby bod in a white bikini on the December issue of Us Weekly. The headline read: “My body is back! No gimmicks, no surgery!” Our insider adds that Kim’s diet and exercise plan will be even more “intense” this time around, confirming that her new nursery, bedroom and closets — temporarily transformed from bedrooms for Kim and hubby Kanye West — have been set up for months already and that Kris made sure her daughter arrived home to her own, separate full staff. “Kim is so hands-on, but also has nurses and baby nurses around the clock. They were waiting for her at the house even when she was in the hospital,” adds our source, who says that in six weeks, Kim will begin a rigorous workout routine and diet. Our source dishes that Kardashian has a personal chef at the house just for her. She will also have a trainer come daily once she can do strenuous exercise. Dancing With the Stars pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd began dating back in 2012, but just like the competition for the mirrored ball trophy, their relationship has been far from easy. The couple split several times amidst infidelity rumors, always telling the press that their work schedules were too hectic to allow them time for a relationship. (We feel like training and filming just a few feet away from each other would make it easy to put in long days at work and still spend time together, but we digress.) Anyway, after many ups and downs, Maksim and Peta got back together in May of this year, and over the weekend, Maks asked Peta to be his dancing partner for the rest of their lives. This is not a couple that's ever shied away from the spotlight, so it's fitting that Maks proposed during a performance at the Olympia Theater in Miami. The NFL will celebrate an epic milestone on February 7, 2016. And it will do so with an epically boring selection of halftime performers. According to Us Weekly insiders, the league has chosen Coldplay to take to the stage midway through Super Bowl 50 next year. The British rock band – which consists of Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion – is an unexpected choice, considering their song catalog is not exactly filled with up-tempo jams. The magazine does add that Bruno Mars (who kicked serious booty in 2013 at the Super Bowl) will also be involved in the show in some way, shape or form; as will other “friends of the group.” Despite previous reports, neither Maroon 5 nor Taylor Swift will take part in the show. We’re just a few weeks away from the premiere of Jill & Jessa: Counting On , the 19 Kids and Counting spinoff series that both TLC and the Duggars are hoping will mark the start of a comeback for the embattled reality TV family. Obviously, the whole Duggar clan is hoping to put Josh Duggar’s sex scandals behind them, but insiders say patriarch Jim Bob is especially eager to rebuild his empire, and he sees Counting On as the first, crucial step. “Jim Bob is desperate to stay relevant and reclaim the Duggar name,” an insider tells Life & Style. “The family fortune has taken massive hit and he’s fighting back.” Jim Bob is reportedly happy with the opportunity to prove that the Duggars are still a major draw, but some insiders say he’s upset that the new series will focus on Jill and Jessa, instead of featuring the entire family. As such, Jim Bob is planning to cameo on the series along with wife Michelle, and sources say his end game is to eventually get a series featuring the whole Duggar brood back on the air. “He absolutely want to be back on TV and was never thrilled about the show suddenly shifting focus,” says one insider. Kourtney Kardashian is taking the blame for her troubled ex-boyfriend’s behavior, or at least for not being more proactive in years past. The 36-year-old mom of three believes she should have forced Scott Disick – who is currently rehab – to get his s–t together sooner. According to a source, “Kourtney blames herself more than anyone else over the demise of her relationship with Scott.” “They have always had their problems, but instead of really addressing the issues, they just played out on Keeping Up With The Kardashians .” Remaining in the spotlight and maintaining notoriety is the Kardashians’ main agenda. As a result, they even exploited Scott’s addiction on the show: “The show’s ratings were and actually still are more of a priority than Kourtney and Scott’s real life relationship,” the source revealed. Scott has been in a downward spiral for years, which you don’t need to watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians online to know well. In fact, Scott has a long history of bailing on rehab . And as he became a household name, he fell deeper into substance abuse. Had Scott received serious treatment sooner, he may had been able to save his relationship with Kourtney. Kourtney dumped Scott in July of this year. “Scott should have been sent to rehab years ago when he and Kourtney still had a chance. Kourtney still beats herself up over this because she feels had their problems been nipped in the bud, she wouldn’t be where she is today, and Scott would be a lot healthier,” the source explained. A few weeks ago though, Scott checked into rehab again to undergo treatment for an alcohol addiction. His willingness to receive treatment came after Kourtney offered him an ultimatum: get help or lose your kids. Thankfully, it looks like Scotts is doing well with this round of treatment. He is in a program at Cliffside Malibu. Rumors even claim he wants to win Kourtney back. Unfortunately for him, Kourtney is likely done with him. “While she’s encouraging when it comes to his rehab, Kourtney doesn’t want to give Scott false hope in getting back together,” a source dished. “She feels that she might give Scott mixed signals if she drops everything and visits him, and she’s still on the fence with what to do next in their relationship.” Kourtney and Scott have three children: Mason, 5, Penelope, 3, and Reign, 10 months. There was no truth to the rumors that the Kardashian family brought a camera crew to Lamar Odom’s hospital room following his near-fatal overdose, but that doesn’t mean Momager Kris doesn’t already have big plans for her son-in-law’s return to the spotlight. According to Radar Online, Kris Jenner is already planning Lamar’s first post-overdose interview . Sources say she’s also working out deals for Lamar’s return to Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and even an E! network special focusing on his recovery. “All of a sudden, Lamar’s become useful to her again,” says one insider. And while the reports about camera crews filming a comatose Lamar just hours after his hospitalization turned out to be bogus, the source claims the Kard clan has definitely been compiling footage for eventual use on Lamar’s TV special. “Anyone saying they’ve not been filming throughout this doesn’t know what they’re talking about,” says the insider. Not long after the world learned about Lamar Odom’s near-fatal overdose , rumors about the Kardashian family’s attempts to milk the tragedy for ratings began to circulate online. Sources claimed that Khloe had brought a camera crew to Lamar’s bedside so that her grief could be featured on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Reps for the Kard clan say there’s no truth to those rumors, but according to a new report from Radar Online, a revamped version of Khloe and Lamar that will focus on Odom’s recovery may already be in the works. Sources say Khloe was planning on producing a KUWTK spinoff that would star her and new boyfriend James Harden, but those plans have been scrapped for obvious reasons. ”Khloe had really been gunning for a spin-off show with James,” says one insider. Now that Khloe and Lamar have called off their divorce (and Harden has been kicked to the curb), the source says she’s done some slight re-casting. Yes, Khloe still wants to do her own show, but now she wants it to focus on her efforts to nurse Lamar back to health. It’s opportunism at its finest/ugliest, but that’s what the Kardashians are all about. We say as long is Lamar is cool with it (and cashing in on it), why not? Just kidding; it’s an awful idea.
