The founder of TaxiTreaters tells The Huffington Post he expects his venture to spread throughout The Big Apple this summer, meaning a vending machine that sells “convenience” items such as gum and, yes, condoms, may soon be part of your cab-riding experience. “Our goal is to provide people with things they want, when they want them, right where they are,” Shimmerlik says . The machine would feature a touch screen and accept credit cards and is being released this myth throughout NYC bars and restaurants. With Mayor Michael Bloomberg introducing The Taxi of Tomorrow last year, one that provides users with 10 inches more of legroom, Shimmerlik sees this as the perfect time to add his helpful apparatus as well. “This is clearly an imaginative product, and we congratulate them on the progress they’ve made,” said Allan Fromberg, spokesman for the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission. Our national nightmare will not end for at least another three months. The day after Kris Humphries’ lawyer peaced out on his client and also trashed Humphries for claiming he can annul his marriage to Kim Kardashian, a judge has set a trial date for this pair to finally hash it all out. They will meet in court on May 6. Kardashian’s attorney fought for a date next month, but nothing was available until well into the spring. By now, everyone (unfortunately) knows the particulars: Kris and Kim were married for 72 days. Kim has been pushing for a divorce for well over a year. Humphries has been stalling and claiming the marriage ought to be annulled because he was duped into a union Kim knew was phony from the start. In other words: he’s holding out to embarrass Kim, irritate Kim or force Kim into giving him a ton of money. Or a combination of each. Oh, and a pregnant Kim Kardashian is expecting Kanye West’s baby. Good times all around.

But that has not scared away movie studios from snapping up commercial time on Super Bowl XLVII. Studios will air ads for upcoming blockbusters including Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man 3 , J.J. The director of Oscar-nominated documentary The Gatekeepers says he believes American Jews hold Israel on too high of a pedestal – something he believes could prove detrimental to the crisis-torn Middle Eastern country. Israeli filmmaker Dror Moreh told The Huff Post that the Jewish community in the United States view Israel as a “safe haven” nearly seven decades after the Holocaust and that American Jews are willing to support Israel despite the potential of becoming what he called an Apartheid state. Moreh’s acclaimed non-fiction feature spotlights six retired directors of Israel’s domestic spy agency, Shin Bet, exposing the organization’s targeted killings behind the Jewish state’s ongoing occupation of the Palestinian territories. The film has caused waves in both the Israel and the U.S. about the spy agency’s tactics. “There is something that I felt while I am here in America, that most of the majority of the Jewish population here are cherishing Israel,” Moreh told the Huff Post, adding that that strict adherence has lead many in the U.S. to the “wrong conclusion that they have to support Israel no matter what.” He said that orthodoxy is in fact, “damaging to the state of Israel.” “They don’t understand that we are going towards an Apartheid country,” said Moreh. “By not criticizing it, by accepting everything Israel does politically and especially towards the conflict, they are damaging their own goal, to protect the state of Israel as a safe haven for them.” Sony Pictures Classics opens The Gatekeepers in the U.S. beginning Friday, February 1st. According to NBC News: A married father of two who coaches girls’ softball is accused of having a sexual relationship with his teenage daughter’s best friend — a girl who looked up to her coach as a father-like figure, according to a criminal complaint obtained by NBC10. Kevin Jones, 34, of Fairless Hills, Pa., northeast of Philadelphia, is accused of having intimate contact with the girl starting when she was 14, according to Falls Township Police. Police say that Jones would text and Facebook message with the girl, whom he coached on the same softball team, the Levittown Bulldogs, that his daughter played on. The girl and Jones would tell each other that they loved one another and he would refer to her as his “baby doll” and she would call him “daddy,” according to a criminal complaint. Jones allegedly told the girl, whose father left the picture about seven years ago, that she could consider him a father. “I’ll be your dad from now on and I’ll protect you like I’m your dad,” Jones told the girl, according to the affidavit. According to the criminal complaint, the relationship between the two started in the spring of 2012 with “flirting” as Jones would put his arm around the girl and hold her hand while speaking to her. Over time, the girl told police that their relationship progressed, first to kissing then to sexual activities and eventually to intercourse about two weeks ago. The affidavit said that Jones’ children were in his home during many of the alleged sex acts. The girl, now 15, told police that all the alleged sex was consensual and that no drugs or alcohol were involved. Jones denies any sexual contact with the alleged victim outside of hugging and kissing that happened only in front of the girl’s mother. The criminal complaint states that during questioning Jones told police, “I don’t know if she thinks I touched her, we play fight.” The relationship was uncovered after the teenager confided in her sister about the relationship and the girls’ mother in turn reported it to Falls Township Police on Jan. 9. Around that time, the victim allegedly tried to warn Jones that her mother knew of their alleged relationship in a series of texts and Facebook messages that are referenced in the affidavit. Those Facebook messages date back to June of 2011, when the girl was just 13, and include messages where Jones threatens to kill any boy the girl has interest in, according to the affidavit. Police planned to serve a search warrant at Jones’ home on Jan. 25, but around 2 p.m. the home burned down. Jones and his family escaped the blaze and the cause of the fire remained under investigation. Jones was arrested Monday and charged with six counts including indecent sexual intercourse with a minor, statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors and related offenses. He was arraigned and held on $2 million bail, according to court documents. Wow, and these are the types of people we trust and leave our children with…so sad.
