‘I would love to go out with Nicki,’ singer says on Ustream. By Mawuse Ziegbe Keyshia Cole Photo: Frank Micelotta/ Getty Images As she preps for a tour to support her latest release, Calling All Hearts, Keyshia Cole is calling up some of her soulful friends to possibly hit the road with her next year. The “Long Way Down” songstress took to Ustream on Tuesday, when her album dropped, to chop it up with fans, and mentioned she plans to head out on a trek in the spring but hasn’t yet decided on an R&B-heavy tour roster or a hip-hop/soul outing alongside Young Money diva Nicki Minaj . “[I’ll go on tour] in March. We’ll probably start promoting sometime in January, probably the end of January. We’re trying to figure out who I’m gonna go on the road with. I had a conversation with Monica about a week ago about it and I told her I would love for her to come, and Faith [Evans] and Melanie Fiona and also Tank — just to add some kind of other flavor in there. But if not, if we don’t do that tour, then it will probably be me and Nicki Minaj,” she said. “I mean, I would love to go out with Nicki, so we’ll see which one happens.” The songstress also opened about her relationship with her “I Ain’t Thru” collaborator, Minaj , explaining that the two can relate due to their hardscrabble backgrounds. Cole, who is four albums into her career, said she often doles out props to Minaj as the lyricist continues her ascent to superstardom. “We’re cool, we’re buddies,” she said. “I see things on TV and I just call her to say congratulations, and stuff like that. I’ll send her an email. I think she’s great. I got love for Nicki. To be honest, she’s a young girl that comes up the same kind of way I came up. Swift fell in and out of love through song, but we never stopped loving the superstar in 2010. She toured the world, released a chart-topping album and even starred in her first feature film. Swift kicked off the year winning awards and ended it dominating the charts, and in between, she never looked back. (They’re more than just pretty faces, but you can still check out photos of our Men and Women of 2010!) Swift proved that she was more than just a crossover coincidence thanks to catchy songs and girl-next-door charm that appeals to the masses. She managed to scoop up awards and be surprised by each win. The other shoe isn’t going to drop anytime soon, and 2010 proved that. 2010 Highlights : In January, Taylor took home her first People’s Choice Award and covered Better Than Ezra’s “Breathless” at the “Hope for Haiti Now” telethon. She also broke Britney Spears’ record for first-week download sales by a female artist thanks to her tune “Today Was a Fairytale.” But it was February that would truly leave her breathless. At the Grammys in February, Swift took home four trophies , including Album of the Year. She also hit the stage with Stevie Nicks at the awards show. Weeks later, she would rule the box office alongside former beau Taylor Lautner in “Valentine’s Day.” Swift spent much of 2010 on tour, but along the way, she racked up nominations at a slew of awards shows, including the Academy of Country Music Awards and CMT Awards . In the spring, she revealed that she was working on her next album and that, unsurprisingly, it would focus on “boys and love.” In July, the singer announced that her next album would be out in October and that she wouldn’t hold back on the aptly titled Speak Now. Weeks later, in August, the album’s first single, “Mine,” leaked online and then soared to the top of the charts. “I was reflecting back on a boy I liked at a certain time,” she said about the song. The video was released at the end of August and showed a more adult side of the singer. Then September rolled around and Swift took the stage at the VMAs . It was a defining moment for the singer, as she publicly let go of the Kanye West incident from a year prior and buried the hatchet with the rapper thanks to her heartfelt performance of “Innocent.” Swift later explained , “I had a lot of options going into the VMAs: You can not go, you can perform your current single, you can pretend that nothing happened or you can say what you need to say at the time you need to say it.” By early October, Swift was pre-releasing Speak Now tracks, prompting speculation about whether the songs were referring to famous exes like Taylor Lautner and Joe Jonas . “I’ve never kept quiet the fact that I write songs about people,” she said. “It’s like, this is album number three. You guys have had fair warning!” For the album’s release, Swift invited fans to her album-release party , and just one week later, she found out that Speak Now had sold 1,047,000 units in its first week, making it the biggest album release in five years . Swift capped 2010 with performances at the CMA Awards and the American Music Awards , announcing a world tour , embarking on a whirlwind romance with Jake Gyllenhaal and turning 21 . Taylor Swift Is MTV News’ #3 Woman Of The Year
An extraordinary discovery in 21st century science has been made if confirmed: evidence of something that occurred before the Big Bang. Our cosmos was “bruised” in collisions with other universes. Astronomers, led by Sir Roger Penrose, mathematical physicist and Emeritus Rouse Ball Professor of Mathematics at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford and Vahe Gurzadyan at Yerevan State University in Armenia have found the first evidence of these impacts in the cosmic microwave background data acquired by the Planck Space Observatory designed to observe the anisotropies of the cosmic microwave background (CMB), using high sensitivity and angular resolution. Last month the duo announced that they had found patterns of concentric circles in the cosmic microwave background, the echo of the Big Bang, which what you'd find if the universe were eternally cyclical. By that, they mean that each cycle ends with a big bang that starts the next cycle. In this model, according to MIT's Technology Review, “the universe is a kind of cosmic Russian Doll, with all previous universes contained within the current one.” Now, another group says they've found something else in the echo of the Big Bang: an inflationary model in which the the universe we see is merely a bubble among infinite bubbles, all of which are other universes where the laws of physics may be dramatically different to ours. These bubbles, reports Technology Review, “probably had a violent past, jostling together and leaving 'cosmic bruises' where they touched. If so, these bruises ought to be visible today in the cosmic microwave background.” Stephen Feeney at University College London and colleagues say they've found tentative evidence of four bruises in the form of circular patters, implying that our universe must have smashed into other bubbles at least four times in the past. Skeptics believe that the “circles” in the WMAP could be a trick of the eye. Feeney in fact acknowledges that “it is rather easy to find all sorts of statistically unlikely properties in a large dataset like the CMB.” In the past few weeks, several groups have confirmed Pernose's finding while others have found no evidence for it. One of the great science debate appears to be unfolding with only way to confirm the new theories will be to confirm or refute the findings with new data forthcoming soon thanks to the Planck spacecraft that is currently scanning into the cosmic microwave background with more unparalled resolution. The reclusive singer will hit the stage for stops in Boston, New York and Miami beginning December 20. At this summer’s Rock the Bells, the reclusive raptress emerged for four tour stops, giving front-to-back performances of her classic debut, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, almost a dozen years to the day after its release. Now, L-Boogie is set to meet her hungry public again with a grip of shows along the East Coast. According to Brooklyn Vegan , Hill will hit Boston, New York, and Miami for a string of shows beginning December 20. She’ll make stops at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg at the end of the month, and the Bowery Ballroom in New York City on New Year’s Day. The “Ex-Factor” singer will then resume the jaunt in the spring with a pair of performances in the Magic City as part of Miami’s Jazz in the Gardens Festival. Tickets for the first trio of shows went on sale on Friday (December 10); no additional dates have been announced. At this summer’s Rock the Bells, Hill chuckled when we asked her about a due date for fresh material, but told MTV News, “We’re getting closer. That’s all I can say.” The ex-Fugees frontwoman, who became something of a voice for a generation of pre-millennium girls drawn to her cerebral brand of rap&B, shunned the limelight not long after the jaw-dropping success of her debut. But in August, she remarked that the industry had changed in recent years, adding that she was feeling sparked by how eclectic music in the age of MP3s was sounding. “You got a lot of young talent out there,” Hill observed. “Because we don’t necessarily have the same sort of industry complex that used to exist, people don’t always give, I want to say, proper respect to. Directed by John Singleton, this thriller revolves around Taylor’s character, who sets out to uncover the truth after discovering a baby photo of himself listed on a missing persons website.

Michael Douglas is not cancer-free just yet. But the Oscar-winning actor, who was diagnosed in August , tells People he feels “stronger everyday,” as he continues to undergo treatment, recognizing: “It’s a long road back.” Part of that road involves prepping for his next role. The 66-year old will take the title role in Liberace, a biopic directed by Steven Soderbergh. “I’ve got a bunch of tapes of performances,” he said of the real-life character. “I’m thinking; I’m a blank slate. Everything shows me he was a lovely man; I just want to reconfirm that.” The movie stars shooting this spring, which should give Douglas plenty more time to spend with his family. He spent Thanksgiving weekend with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and their kids at Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando.

This time it’s not for reality TV, just reality. Or something. Yeah, right. Weeks after confessing they faked their divorce proceedings, and days after calling his own made-for-TV Hills marriage ceremony a contrived nightmare , Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have said “I do” in their first “real” wedding. Third time’s the charm, right? WEDDINGS PAST AND PRESENT : This time, Speidi swears, it’s legit . Before The Hills aired their union to end its fifth season in the spring of 2009, the couple staged a bogus wedding in Cabo the previous winter. So this is #3. Finally, the gruesome twosome says, it was for love. “It’s just me and my bride on a little secret beach with nobody else, and it’s just about her,” Spencer Pratt told ET of their Sunday vow renewal . “Last time it was about everything else, it was about drama, it was about ratings.” How terrible was that? The poor, victimized couple. Echoes Heidi Montag : “It was about everyone but us, so this is our first wedding about our love. I can finally just be Heidi. I’m just really enjoying every day.” Indeed. How can we possibly argue with such heartfelt emotions from two genuine people deeply in love with publicity each other? Congratulations, we guess.

The two have been together for years, with a couple brief break-ups along the way. Already regulars in the pages of supermarket tabloids , Kate and William can expect even more coverage as they move toward a wedding that’s scheduled to take place some time in 2011. Ahead for Kate Middleton and Prince William: love, marriage… and $20 billion . William proposed during a vacation in Kenya last month. He has informed the Queen of his intentions and also sought permission from Middleton’s father. In part, the official statement by Great Britain reads: The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton. The wedding will take place in the Spring or Summer of 2011, in London. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course. Following the marriage, the couple will live in north Wales, where Prince William will continue to serve with the Royal Air Force.
