Mark Sanchez and Jamie-Lynn Sigler

Mark Sanchez, 23, and Jamie-Lynn Sigler, 29, reportedly started dating at the end of April after meeting at the Tribeca Film Festival, though the New York Jets quarterback was quick to dispel any rumors they were more than just friends. World Cup Begins in Colour and Rhythm

The South Africa 2010 party got under way in style last night with a joyous, colourful and truly African FIFA World Cup™ Kick-off Celebration Concert in Soweto, Johannesburg. Held in the football heartland that is Orlando Stadium, home of iconic club side Orlando Pirates, the concert featured a host of stars including Shakira, Alicia Keys, K’Naan and the Black Eyed Peas. A wide variety of acts took to the stage but the abiding theme was one of celebration for the African continent with the event broadcast across the world. The countdown clock introducing the three-hour extravaganza finally hit zero and with it came a cacophonous roar as seemingly thousands of South Africa flags were lifted aloft creating an ocean of colour among the estimated 30,000 in attendance. Joining the countless Rainbow Nation colours were a broad cross-section of national flags representing every corner of the globe, as the many visitors in attendance took the opportunity to enjoy Africa’s impressive ability to turn on a party. FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and South African President Jacob Zuma jointly opened the concert after the early acts. As the evening progressed a cavalcade of football stars took to the stage between performances including former Bafana Bafana captain Lucas Radebe, Christian Karembeu, Quinton Fortune, Socrates and Jay Jay Okacha. Another joyous presenter was Archbishop Desmond Tutu decked out in Bafana Bafana supporter gear and who introduced a video presentation on Nelson Mandela with trademark enthusiasm. The large crowd rarely dropped their energy levels and their infectious enthusiasm was palpable. “I have been to a lot of concerts but I have never been to a concert like this,” said ebullient Johannesburg resident Khensami Majola, just as K’Naan took to the stage to perform his poignant song ‘Wavin Flag’. “It is amazing fun, we are having a huge jam. It is a perfect presentation of Africa – north, south, east and west.” The concert drew to a spectacular conclusion with Colombian pop princess Shakira in impressive form. She was joined on stage by Freshlyground for a rendition of ‘Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)’, the Official FIFA World Cup theme. Another proud concert-goer was Soweto local William Oosthuizen who spoke with pride as he took a rare break from dancing. “I am very proud and I am enjoying this immensely,” he said. “Beauty in the heart of Soweto. This is what Africa is all about. Sport has a unifying factor and it’s all about people enjoying themselves.” #

Kanye West Treats Chicago High Schools To Private Concerts

Lupe Fiasco and Common joined Yeezy in rewarding public school students for their achievements this year. By Gil Kaufman Kanye West and Common perform at the Kanye West Foundation’s 3rd annual Stay in School event on June 8 Photo: Daniel Boczarski/ Getty Images Kanye West gave the students at three Chicago public schools serious incentive to keep up their grades and make it to school: the promise of a private concert. On Tuesday, the rapper’s 33rd birthday, he made good on that pledge with the Kanye West Foundation’s third annual Stay in School event, which found him visiting three different hometown high schools to perform a mini-concert along with pals Lupe Fiasco and Common , according to the Chicago Tribune. With the exception of a recent club appearance in Manhattan , West has been keeping a low profile for the past eight months. But he stepped back in the spotlight to reward the kids at Farragut Career Academy, John Marshall Metropolitan and Percy L. Julian High School for posting the highest gains in grades, behavior and performance among seven participating schools. In previous years, the concerts took place in area venues, but this year West and his friends played a six-song set at each school. Fiasco kicked the shows off with his hit “Superstar,” followed by Common’s “Universal Mind Control,” according to the paper. “We want to congratulate you on the incredible job you’ve done in school,” said Common. “Whatever you do, be the best at it.” Then it was Kanye’s turn to take the stage. He performed “Run This Town,” “Good Life,” the new song “Power” (which TV cameras were not allowed to record) and “Touch the Sky.” West didn’t say much to the crowd during the Farragut show, leaving most of the stage banter to Common and Fiasco, though that show did end with the more than 1,600 students — all wearing white Kanye West Foundation T-shirts — singing “Happy Birthday” to the rapper. Would the promise of a Kanye West concert get you to improve your grades? Discuss it in the comments. Related Artists Kanye West Lupe Fiasco Common

‘Harry Potter’ Star Tom Felton Teases ‘Deathly Hallows’ Epilogue Details

‘It was … exciting, and what a way to end it,’ Tom Felton says at MTV Movie Awards. Tom Felton Photo: MTV News Millions of fans spent the past decade feverishly devouring “Harry Potter” books and movies, even as they longed for answers to the many lingering questions: What is Harry’s fate? Who will live and who dies? What will happen between Ron and Hermione? Now, with the final two “Potter” films on their way, one of the series’ stars, Tom Felton, provided some insight at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards about another pressing question: What will it be like to say goodbye? “I had my last day shooting three days ago,” revealed Felton, known onscreen as Draco Malfoy . “So the blond hair is gone.” Before heading into the Gibson Amphitheatre to collect his award for Best Villain, Felton dropped an even bigger bombshell. His girlfriend, “Potter” stunt assistant Jade Olivia , will have an acting cameo in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” “This is an exclusive for you — she is, yes,” Felton told MTV News. “The producers came to me about six months ago, and I said, ‘OK, I’ll ask her.’ She was at first reluctant, but I pulled her arm and twisted it. She was filming with me for three days at King’s Cross [railway station in the U.K.]; we were very excited.” Olivia and Felton appear alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and other castmembers in an epilogue that depicts the “Potter” stars after the “Deathly Hallows” films have concluded. “She plays my wife, Astoria Malfoy; we have a kid together,” Felton said. “It was all very rush, rush. So yeah, we were married for three days. It was fun.” “It gave me a chance to see what she’s going to look like in 19 years,” Felton joked. “And if that’s what she looks like, I’m doing pretty well for myself,” he laughed, commenting on the makeup work. “But I look terrible. The years have not been kind to me in the slightest. But what can I do? I’ve gotta just roll with it.” “It’s amazing,” he said of the epilogue. “I don’t want to drop too many hints, but Rupert, Daniel, Emma, they all look fantastic. There’s lots to look forward to.” Fans, of course, can look forward to the unveiling of “Deathly Hallows” beginning in November. Part two of the split-for-cinema sequel hits theaters in July 2011. But as for Felton and his gal-pal, the anticipation of the films paled in comparison to the thrill of attending the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. “I’ve never been here,” Felton explained. “This is my first American awards show, period. And MTV is my life, man. I grew up with this stuff. So to be here is a massive honor, let alone to be nominated.” “It’s a sad thing,” Felton said of saying goodbye to the ” “Potter” franchise. “But it was also exciting, and what a way to end it — to come and celebrate it here.” Relive the wildest, funniest and most-jaw-dropping moments of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, watch revealing red-carpet interviews and get exclusive movie clips after the show at MovieAwards.MTV.com. Christina Aguilera Gets Steamy At 2010 MTV Movie Awards

Singer heats up stage with medley of songs from forthcoming Bionic LP. By James Montgomery Christina Aguilera performs at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Christopher Polk/Getty Images Christina Aguilera got futuristic, funky and downright freaky at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, performing a supercharged medley of songs from her forthcoming Bionic album — which comes out Tuesday — that hit hard and probably got millions of people all hot and bothered. She kicked things off sitting down in a gilded throne, decked out in a diamond-encrusted one-piece, looking very much like a 23rd-century queen, and began rapping the opening lines of the title track from her album. She then descended to the stage and, surrounded by a crew of leather-clad dancers began throwing punches while laser blasts resounded through the audience (bonus points for the Iron Man-esque light pods she wore on the palms of her hands.) After a bit more strutting, Aguilera’s dancers surrounded her, and the electronic thump of first single “Not Myself Tonight” blared loud and proud. As steam poured from the stage, Xtina belted out the chorus, getting low and singing for the rafters. “Tonight” segued directly into “Woohoo,” minus Nikki Minaj on this night. But that didn’t stop Christina from upping the heat even more, breaking into a seriously sexy dance number that was made only more hot by the fact that her dancers were now wearing glowing red hearts on their crotches. Not to be outdone, Agulera ended things by standing tall at center stage, the camera zooming in on her midsection, which now bore a beating heart of its own. The celeb-packed audience roared their approval, and Aguilera bounded off the stage — presumably to go take a nice long, cold shower. Nashville Debate Part 1

Due to the large number of debate photographs from Nashville, we’ve split them into two posts – before and after the debate. These pictures really speak for themselves and are the essence of why I created this blog in the first place, to show everyone what happens behind the scenes. These pictures feature my father prepping before the debate and entering the stage at Belmont University. Hope you enjoy! Song of the Day: “Bittersweet Symphony” by The Verve
