‘She felt more free, I felt more free, that’s how you can see the camaraderie in the video,’ 2 Chainz tells MTV News of Nicki’s ‘Beez in the Trap’ clip. By Rob Markman 2 Chainz Photo: MTV News While filming the “Beez in the Trap” video , it was hard for 2 Chainz to ignore all of Nicki Minaj ‘s assets. Luckily, Deuce is a professional. “I was like, ‘Damn my little sister fine as hell,'” 2 Chainz told MTV News after a taping of MTV2’s upcoming game show “Hip Hop Squares.” Tity Boi then broke down his relationship with the Harajuku Barbie, one that dates back to around 2008. “I’ve known Nicki for a minute; I met her on the I Am Music Tour, the first leg with Wayne. It was cool, we had a great relationship, we used to talk, trip out here and there.” The “Beez” clip was shot in a strip club and features a bikini-clad Minaj counting hundred stacks. By the time 2 Chainz gets to his verse, Nicki grinds alongside him in leopard-print cat suit that accentuates her much-fawned-over rump. 2 Chainz attributes Nicki’s comfort while doing her naughty dance to the closed set. “When it’s closed off, she felt more free, I felt more free, that’s how you can see the camaraderie in the video and how we just kinda vibing with each other,” he said. As for Nicki, the MC just wanted to salute all of the dancers who supported her as she was performing in strip clubs at the beginning of her career. “When I see the strippers and all of that, they always show me love, so I wanted to kinda make a video around them,” the reigning rap queen said. “I hit up Benny Boom like, ‘Yo, I need a sexy video right now.’ I knew 2 Chainz wasn’t gonna be mad.” Deuce, who is preparing his solo debut Based on a T.R.U. Story for an August release on Def Jam, didn’t get to see the video while it was being edited but was very pleased with the result. “I just knew I got a little dance in on her and I’m glad they used it,” he said. “She’s very talented and I support what she’s doin’.” In other Nicki news, the Young Money star disappointed millions of fans when she deactivated her Twitter account on Sunday after feuding with a fansite for posting snippets from her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded LP . “Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good f–king bye,” she wrote before vanishing from the social networking site. Do you like the “Beez in the Trap” video? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Nicki Minaj 2 Chainz
‘If you don’t tell your story, somebody else will,’ he tells MTV News about why he decided to open up. By Nadeska Alexis Nas Photo: MTV News Nas has earned a reputation for being a man of few words during interviews, so it comes as a bit of a surprise that the Queens rapper agreed to film a segment of VH1’s “Behind the Music.” Just as we suspected, though, Nas was very reluctant to open up for the cameras, as he told MTV News. “It was tough. I didn’t want to do ‘Behind the Music,’ ” Nas admits, reflecting on his decision to go through with the taping. “I didn’t. But at some point, if you don’t tell your story, somebody else will. So I gave them a little peek inside. It can’t hurt, just a little peek inside.” In a preview clip from the episode, Nas talks about growing up in the Queensbridge Housing Projects and watching his parents separate at a young age, in addition to talking about his storied hip-hop career. “You can never forget where you come from, no matter how far you go,” he says. “In the neighborhood where I’m from, people are killed for nothing. You can’t just ignore it. That’s the beauty of rap music, because we’re going to give you the side that no one wants to talk about.” Before sitting down for the interview, Nas said he didn’t know what he would reveal. “I didn’t know what I would give them. I just sat down and talked,” he said. “I knew that I just needed to say enough. And as I’m talking, I realize, ‘Damn, there’s a lot of life here.’ I’m just giving it to them how I feel, but I’m realizing how much more there is.” For someone known to be tight-lipped, Nas is opening up quite a bit this year. Whatever tales are left untold in his “Behind the Music” episode, fans will find in his upcoming autobiography, which is being penned with help from writer Tour

With today’s theatrical opening of the documentary Hit So Hard , Movieline is pleased to revisit its coverage from the film’s New York festival premiere on March 28, 2011. — Ed. Courtney Love shrugged. “We’ve been in lots of rooms together,” she said to a packed theater of moviegoers at the Museum of Modern Art, where Hit So Hard , a documentary about her band Hole (and, more specifically, drummer/addict/survivor Patty Schemel) had its New York premiere Monday night. The crowd laughed, steeped in nostalgia and recognition — not that Love was talking about this room or this crowd. Love was talking about the members of Hole themselves — herself, Schemel, guitarist Eric Erlandson and bassist Melissa auf der Mar, reunited for the New Directors/New Films festival screening. Hit So Hard ‘s director, P. David Ebersole, had earlier repeated the fest’s talking point about the event being the first time all four had been “in the same room” in 13 years, and many of the evening’s attendees — casual viewers and die-hard Hole fans alike, many dressed in faded black merch-table artifacts from Hole’s 1997 Celebrity Skin tour — had been drawn in for the express purpose of seeing what drama might transpire. How would the quartet respond to the home-movie evidence of debauchery, chaos and self-destruction? How would the erstwhile intimacy and contemporary candor reflect on the band members and their work? Would Courtney Love even bother to show up? Indeed she would, because ultimately Hit So Hard isn’t a rock expos
Live-action film will tell ‘Sleeping Beauty’ villain’s side of the story. By Fallon Prinzivalli Angelina Jolie Photo: Getty Images Get excited, villain fans: Walt Disney Studios announced the U.S. release date for “Maleficent” — March 14, 2014! Based on Disney’s animated classic “Sleeping Beauty,” this live-action movie will delve into the origins of Maleficent and what caused her to curse Princess Aurora. The film stars Angelina Jolie as the title role and will show a different side to the evil fairy. Before casting and filming was finalized, Jolie told MTV News’ Josh Horowitz she would love to play the titular sorceress. “It’s all new and being discussed, but I loved her when I was a little girl. She was my favorite.” When we caught up with the actress a year later at the red carpet for “Kung Fu Panda 2,” she confirmed “there’s a great script.” The script was penned by Linda Woolverton, and Jolie admitted she had loved it for a very long time. Even though the movie tells Maleficent’s version of the story doesn’t mean Aurora will be portrayed as the bad guy . “It’s not anti-princess,” Jolie told Entertainment Weekly about the film. “But it’s the first time they’re looking at this epic woman. … I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things, and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn’t mean she can’t have other [warmer] qualities.” Jolie believes “Maleficent” will be a positive film for young girls to see because of its message of seeing a story from someone else’s point of view. But it isn’t just the script that fans can look forward to; Robert Stromberg — who has worked on “Avatar” and “Alice in Wonderland” in the past — will direct, which means audiences can prepare themselves for stunning visuals as well. Let’s give Amanda Bynes credit: the actress didn’t merely get arrested for DUI early this morning. She made her arrest count!* As first reported by TMZ, Bynes was busted around 3 a.m. in West Hollywood after she attempted to pass a police car in hew BMW… and ended up side-swiping the vehicle! Following this incident cops pulled the 26-year old over, determined she was not fit to be driving and hauled her into the station. She was released hours later on $5,000 bond. * We are just kidding. No DUI arrest ever “counts” for anything positive. Stay alive, readers. Don’t drink and drive.
LeAnn Rimes, country star and wife of Eddie Cibrian, is reportedly mulling a tell-all book in which she speaks candidly about romance, marriage and divorce. The 29-year-old has been a celebrity gossip staple since her affair with now-husband Eddie Cibrian – a tryst that broke up both of their marriages at the time. Rimes and Cibrian first fell in love in 2009 on the set of the Lifetime’s Northern Lights . After a scrutinized courtship, LeAnn and Eddie married last April. Rimes’ rep is ” putting out feelers ” to find the right person to help write her autobiography and “tell LeAnn’s side of the story in her own voice.” How juicy will it be? A publishing source says she “wants it to be a very honest book so she can speak directly to her fans and tell her side of the story.” “She’s been through a lot of changes over the past few years,” the insider adds, “and this is LeAnn’s chance to speak candidly to her fans.” Also planning to write a book? Cibrian’s ex-wife Brandi Glanville . The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star tweeted last month that her story “has been a long time coming [and it’s] about surviving divorce.” Will both ladies take the literary high road? Or would this reignite what has been an ongoing, intermittent feud for years? We’ll have to stay tuned. [Photo: WENN.com]
