Another tragic shooting in the Bronx. This time, 21-year-old Allen McQueen was killed with his baby girl, Taylor, on his back. According to police, the tragic incident happened around 1:20pm when the gunman fired once and missed, before chasing McQueen down the street and firing twice more. The gunman, described as a man in his 20s, sped off in a Mercedes Benz after the shooting. Arielle Corkery heard the gunshots from her window and said, Taylor was on his back, and when he fell he twirled and fell on top of her.” Adding, “I picked him up, and I picked up the baby. She was covered in blood.” Allen McQueen had another side, one that cops say this may have played a role in his murder. McQueen had been arrested 23 times, mostly for robbery and assault, and was known to carry a gun. According to police, 168 people have been killed in the city this year, a nearly 10% increase over the same period in 2014.??

Although the record-breaking heat caused 188 Ironman Triathlon competitors to quit Sunday’s race in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, nothing stopped blind veteran Scotty Smiley. The retired major crossed the finish line with his brother-in-law, Andy Cooper, at 10:20 p.m., after a 16-hour journey. Smiley told People Magazine, “There were so many times I just wanted to quit and give up. I just couldn’t see the end in sight.” Though Smiley couldn’t see his progress, he could hear his family behind him. His wife Tiffany rode her bike alongside him for half of the marathon. “It was amazing to hear them as I transitioned from the bike to the run – throughout the run just screaming my name,” Smiley said. “And then to be there to give my wife and my boys a hug, it was a great feeling.” In April 2005, Smiley lost his vision and was partially paralyzed in northern Iraq when a suicide car bomb went off and spewed shrapnel.

Son Of Zimbabwe’s First Lady Receives No Jail Time For Killing Man With Car It’s no secret that the rich and powerful get away with murder… Or in this case, manslaughter. According to NY Daily News The eldest son of Zimbabwe’s First Lady has been fined $800 after being convicted of manslaughter. Russell Goreraza, the stepson of long-time leader Robert Mugabe, knocked down and killed a man in Harare, the country’s capital, reports the BBC . The judge said he had decided against jailing the 31-year-old — and taking away his license — because of the defendant’s remorse. Goreraza was also a first-time offender. “I regret and want to apologise for the incident,” he said in court. The BBC claims the lenient sentence has shocked many in Zimbabwe. Tape one underneath it?’ Texas resident Ray Briggs asked. Briggs and others in Olympic Heights, a neighborhood where the streets are named after famous Olympians such as Wilma Rudolph and Jim Thorpe, say they are supportive of Jenner. However, they now must decide if doing the paperwork to make a change official is worth it. ‘I thought about doing it myself,’ Briggs told KVUE. Address information for bills and GPS systems would need to be updated given an official switch.
