Robber Complains That Stolen Jewelry Is Fake A Miami man was recently arrested after authorities say he robbed a man at gunpoint, took off running and returned moments later to complain that the pilfered goods were fake. NBC Miami reports: A man accused of snatching jewelry from a Miami Beach tourist then becoming angry over the quality of the merchandise was behind bars Thursday. Daniel Sion Palmer, 26, is charged with armed robbery, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving and possession of a suspended license, police said. Palmer was being held without bond Thursday. It was unknown if he has an attorney. The incident happened about 3 a.m. on South Beach, near 11th Street and Ocean Drive, when Palmer allegedly pointed a gun at a man from New York, grabbed his gold chain and then took off. Police say Palmer apparently was not satisfied with his freshly stolen jewelry, and so he approached the victim again a block away, near 10th Street, just so he could tell him the jewelry was fake. “That was a brazen move and because of that he was able to be apprehended,” Det. Ernesto Rodriguez said. The victim was able to flag police down and point out Palmer, who was now driving a Mercedes. Investigators say he sped across 8th street, then down Collins Avenue, disregarding the police officers who had turned on their lights and sirens. He then drove onto the MacArthur Causeway, and was arrested there. Erika Allgaier, visiting from Boston, wouldn’t think twice about wearing jewelry in south Florida. “You feel safe when you’re in Miami, you shouldn’t feel you should be threatened by someone or someone coming up and taking your jewelry,” Allgaier said. Teen Shot In Accident Retaliation Revealed As Toddler’s Brother Yesterday, we reported the Milwaukee man who was shot dead just moments after accidentally running over a 2-year-old boy who darted into the street, alongside a teenager who was on the scene. In an even more tragic turn of events, the young boy who was also shot at the scene by the unknown shooter, later dying during operation, was actually the toddler’s older brother — having run to the scene to check on the 2-year-old just moments after he was struck by the van. Via MailOnline : The 15-year-old Wisconsin boy who was gunned down along with the driver who accidentally ran over a 2-year-old with his van Sunday has now been identified as the dead toddler’s brother. Police say an unnamed gunman opened fire in Milwaukee Sunday after 40-year-old Archie Brown Jr struck and killed little Damani Terry when the toddler darted out of a house into the street. A person armed with a gun rushed to the scene of the crash and shot dead Brown, along with Damani Terry’s big brother, 15-year-old Rasheed Chiles, who ran outside to check on the toddler. Brown, a father of four, was struck in the head by a bullet and died at the scene near a park on Milwaukee’s near northwest side. Chiles was hit in the shoulder and was taken to a hospital, where he died during surgery. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed in a statement late Monday that Damani and Rasheed were brothers. A police statement said Brown was distraught about hitting the child and stopped right away, according to witnesses. The statement didn’t explain how and why Chiles was shot, but police said he and the 2-year-old were attending a cookout together at the house near the accident. Mayor Tom Barrett called the shooting of Brown an ‘assassination’ during an emotional press conference. “Someone got angry,” Barrett said. “Someone took a gun and basically assassinated this gentleman.” So this family lost not one, but two children in this tragic accident followed by what seemed to be an act of revenge.
