Her name is Aurelia Gliwski….no idea where she’s from…. She’s a low level 28 year old model who no one has ever heard of…but still making more money than any of us…cuz all she needs is a campaign like this every couple of months that pays her 10,000 dollars to get half naked…and shit’s far better than working an actual job…think of all the free time she has to get high, drunk, suck dick, play, party, travel, etc…..cuz she only needs to work 10 days a fucking year…. You see cuz everyone focuses on the top models…the supermodels…the 300,000 dollar per campaign models…but the world is filled with hot babes willing to get naked in hopes of being a top model super model…while making more than a decent salary doing it….and you’ve likely never heard of her…and either have I… But you likely don’t care about her….because you don’t believe we are all god’s children…you believe the media endorsed garbage is better than the less promoted cuz it has marketing budget behind it…it is the American way….give thanks…. While I prefer the girls who want to one day be that top model…nearing the end of the road as 30 approaches…who still get low level model gigs and live the model life…but more importantly who give me hope that they are willing to fuck with me to get to the top….when in reality…they don’t….m
Michea Crawford is some babe who lived in Montreal at one point in time…before moving to NYC on her quest to being some kind of hot model… I don’t think I’ve ever met her…..reminding me of another lost opportunity….one in which I coulda become her best friend ever…helping her take over the world….carrying her purse to gigs…doing whatever it took to get her trust so that I could make my move to touch her breast tenderly while she’s had one too many drinks…. I could have wrote love songs or love poems…and gazed in her eyes…and whispered sweet nothings to her….we could have got matching tattoos…and held hands in the rain…we could have had a family and kids..and spent the rest of our lives together…our love eternal…. But too late for that now…I don’t know much about her…other than that she’s got potential to be fucking famous…and here she is in catalog shots for Elle Macpherson lingerie…even though I hate catalog shots for any lingerie….I still like looking at babes half naked….especially one I could potentially run into on the street one day when she’s visiting her old digs….giving me the opportunity…to have her sign my tit….we’re all allowed to have dreams people…it’s fucking thanksgiving…and I give thanks to having dreams….
Katy Perry’s horrible bodied, talentless, sidekick who she brought up to fame with her….was on the Today Show where she performed horribly, as that’s kinda her thing…but more importantly showed off her really obscure looking bod in a leotard like she was Gaga, Augilera, Madonna, every fucking pop tart trash who doesn’t belong on stage in a one piece….broadcasting the weirdness of their ass….in fishnets…like this was a fucking fetish party…when in reality…it is just proof that we’re all fucking doomed that this is the shit our kids get down to….Good thing I don’t have kids… The worst…even in pics of her looking like she’s getting fisted….
I wish this Lindsay Lohan lawsuit shit was a hell of a lot more erotic…but instead shit is just weird….even depressing…and I figure if I want a convict to masturbate to…I might as well just hire one off the street who is way less maintenance than this white collar crime bullshit…I like my unstable women a little less hollywood and a lot more down on their fucking luck to find their next hit…not to order their next meal at their 5 star hotel’s room service. Lohan coulda been saved…but I am pretty sure – she’s fallen off so hard she can’t get back up…ever….all while wasting the tax payers money with spoiled brat bullshit. But I’ll still believe there’s hope cuz I am a Lohan believer….and I know like a phoenix she will rise from the ashes and win an academy award…that or die of an overdose alone in her hotel room…either way…I mourn her or at least what she was….. This is just a cry for media attention…and I’m buying into it – cuz I have a crush on her.
After spending four years and five movies playing Bella Swan’s vampire sister-in-law Rosalie Hale in the Twilight series, Nikki Reed understandably has a bittersweet perspective on the billion-dollar franchise coming to a close in this week’s Breaking Dawn Part 2 . On the one hand, she won’t miss the hate mail from fans who have taken her character’s onscreen iciness to Kristen Stewart ‘s heroine to heart for four films. But few of Twilight ‘s central figures have been as close to the saga as long as Reed has, dating back to even before director Catherine Hardwicke had cast Stewart and Robert Pattinson in the roles that would skyrocket them, the films, and all of their cast, to global fame. “Catherine called me seven or eight months before it was happening and she was like, ‘Hey, do you like the vampire genre? Because there’s this thing I’m thinking about and there are actually some books, and some fans — I don’t know if you’re into it…’ It was that sort of conversation,” said Reed, who at the time had acted in a handful of indie films including 2003’s Thirteen , which she co-wrote with director Hardwicke. Tempted by the role of Edward Cullen’s disapproving adopted sister Rosalie, Reed decided against early retirement from acting and took the gig, joining Stewart, Pattinson, and their fellow Twilight cast mates at the film’s Portland shoot — the first and last time the cast would be able to make a Twilight movie in relative anonymity. “We were just kids, and no one knew who anyone was,” Reed remembered. “There were no stars, there was no celebrity. We were just people together.” Fast forward to 2012: Reed has four non- Twilight films in the pipeline, including turns in Empire State with Liam Hemsworth and Dwayne Johnson and In Your Eyes , from producer Joss Whedon. She recently launched her own jewelry line, Mattlin Era , featuring designs inspired by her mother and grandmother. And with musician husband Paul McDonald — who she met on the red carpet for Hardwicke’s Red Riding Hood , another cosmically unpredictable byproduct of the Twilight saga’s success — Reed recently debuted her first album anchored by “All I’ve Ever Needed,” an original song they wrote for the Breaking Dawn soundtrack. PHOTOS: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson & Co. Premiere ‘Breaking Dawn 2’ How do you feel right now about Twilight and your experience with this franchise now that it’s coming to a close? Having us all together is such a special thing. As the movies have gotten bigger it’s become more rare. In the beginning when there wasn’t this kind of success or fan base for the films, we were all together more. Now there’s more isolation and we don’t get to all hang out in the same room like we used to. It feels really sad, and there are not many moments in your life when you can consciously close a chapter. You reach a milestone like you’re graduating college, and you’re like, oh — I’m aware that this is going to completely change my life when this is done. You normally look back on things in hindsight, but with this we’ve known that it’s been coming to an end since the beginning. It’s really sad for me. I feel really sad. Everyone else is like, “No, it’s fun and exciting!” and it’s all those things, too. But it’s hard to know what an experience this has been, and be conscious of that, and still know that it’s done. And don’t get me wrong, I’m happy about this film and I want it to come out so that the fans can see it. It’s a lot of mixed feelings. Is that why you’ve been driving by Elizabeth Reaser’s house, sending her photos when she’s not home? Isn’t that funny! We both live outside of Hollywood on the same mountain, but I live one mountain over and she lives on the street that I take to get into town. So I drive by her house four times a day, and sometimes when I’m feeling goofy I’ll pull over and get out and take a picture of her license plate and I’ll go, “This is how close I was.” It’s just silly! I see her all the time. Rosalie finally gets some nice, warm moments in Breaking Dawn Part 2 – she’s become basically like a godmother to baby Renesmee, able to exercise her latent maternal instincts. How happy were you to bring Rosalie to this point as a character? I think one of the greatest challenges with this franchise for me has been knowing that Stephenie [Meyer] wrote such multifaceted, dynamic character but only getting to play one aspect of that person. It sort of makes everything look a lot more superficial than it is; there’s so much depth to all of the characters she wrote. They all have incredible back stories. If you sit down with her and ask her questions, she has answers to everything — this is her world. Also, even if the fans have read the books and know the character and connect with the character, what we bring to life is so different than what’s in the books sometimes, and it’s almost impossible to portray. So I think I’ve been waiting for this moment, not just for myself but for Rosalie. It’s been so hard defending her for so many years and defending who she is – No, she’s not that, and she’s not this, and there are all these feelings inside! Subconsciously people in general have a hard time disassociating an actor from a character; people who play the villain — you look at John Lithgow on Dexter , playing that character on that show has changed my whole perception of him. Every time I see him in something else now, I can only think of that, and you don’t even know you’re doing it. If I had known going in that playing the outcast and playing the least-liked character was going to… how you’re perceived by the fans is different from how the rest of the cast is perceived because of how they connect you with your character. So I’m happy I didn’t realize that going in, because that would have given me a lot of anxiety about the next four years of my life. It’s interesting to see how the fans will connect with you more now that Rosalie is on Bella’s side. Now you’re playing the hero. That’s an interesting, unexpected drawback to being a part of the Twilight franchise — especially considering how much the popularity of the franchise has changed your lives, with screaming fans at events and paparazzi out in public. It’s bizarre, but I can’t cry about that because my mother would kill me. I’m so blessed to be in the position I’m in, and this is today — I don’t know what tomorrow’s going to bring, but I can tell you that being in this series, there’s no golden ticket here. Any of us who think that are crazy, because you have to constantly work hard. You’re constantly proving yourself. And even when you’ve done a great job, you have to do something else to show people that you can do something great in some other role. We’re always trying to grow and better ourselves, and I feel like I can’t complain. There are so many perks and so many wonderful things about being a part of this. Any time I get down — which I do, by the way. When I get hate mail I get really down on myself and I read it to my mom and my mom is like, “So what? Who cares? These people don’t know you, so you can’t take the praise or the hate to heart.” All of it comes from a very distant place, so you have to receive all of it that way. Even the love, you have to appreciate it but from a distance, because you don’t want that to be absorbed either. People actually send you hate mail? People send everyone hate mail. That’s the way the world works right now, I’m nothing special. [Laughs] Trust me. It’s just the way that the world communicates now, the way that everyone functions. I love this quote, and it was a friend of mine who told me this and I think about it consciously whenever I’m feeling like this: “If it’s not personal, you don’t take it personally.” If that person doesn’t know me, it’s not personal. Whatever you have to say about me doesn’t actually exist because this relationship doesn’t exist. You don’t know me.
It speaks to just how good David O. Russell is at portraying raw, high-strung sincerity that Silver Linings Playbook is able to walk a line between likable and tolerable despite a premise the reeks of quirky bullshit. In addition to its frequently cutesy treatment of mental illness, the movie features a love interest who instantly latches onto and pursues the film’s mess of a hero like she read the script in advance and was assured things will eventually work out. Based on a novel by Matthew Quick and adapted for the screen by Russell himself, Silver Linings Playbook is an unfussy, rambling crowd-pleaser that recalls elements of the filmmaker’s past work: the New Age coachings of the existential detectives in I Heart Huckabees, the back-in-your-childhood-home set-up of Spanking the Monkey and the chaotic regional family flavor of The Fighter . More than any of that, though, the movie brings to mind the leaked videos of Russell having a meltdown in front of Lily Tomlin on the set of Huckabees , pacing back and forth, incensed and out of control. Russell seems, from all accounts, like a man who knows his way around mood swings and wild bursts of emotion. His very apparent ability to empathize with his protagonist in Silver Linings Playbook while allowing him to behave in some ugly ways both grounds the film and, at times, proves problematic. Russell is more generous with his hero than he is with those who live with and love the guy. Pat ( Bradley Cooper ) is a former teacher back from eight months in a Baltimore mental institution, The state-provided treatment he’s receiving for a previously undiagnosed bipolar disorder is part of a plea bargain stemming from his violent reaction to the discovery that his wife Nikki (Brea Bee) had been fooling around with another man. Pat has talked his mother Dolores (Jacki Weaver) into letting him come home against his doctor’s recommendation, and with Nikki having sold their house and secured a restraining order against him, he moves into the attic of his Pennsylvania childhood home and attempts to get his life in order. Despite having embraced a new fitness regimen (he’s rarely dressed in anything other than workout gear, with the occasional addition of a garbage bag-like vest to stimulate sweating) and a garbled but deeply felt set of self-help principles involving finding silver linings, maintaining positivity and the affirmation “excelsior,” Pat’s not doing that well. He isn’t taking his meds, he unapologetically bursts into his parents’ room at four in the morning to complain about the ending of A Farewell to Arms and he’s fixated on how he’s going to prove himself to Nikki and win her back, despite all the evidence that she’s done with him. Cooper’s slippery charm makes him an unexpected and imperfect fit for the role of Pat. He’s great at portraying his character’s utter conviction in his delusions and his enveloping rage when something pushes him over the edge. But, as devoted as he is to the role, Cooper does less well showing the character’s filter-free, no pretense appeal. To put it another way, Cooper tends to get cast as a handsome jerk for a reason, and given the oafish way he reacts to Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence) when they first meet in the movie, it’s not easy to see why she would be so instantly and strongly attracted to him. She literally begins chasing him down the street when he goes for runs until he starts spending time with her. Tiffany, who is the widowed sister of the wife (Julia Stiles) of Pat’s friend Ronnie (John Ortiz), has some instability and past tragedy of her own to deal with, but Pat doesn’t want to play reluctant outcasts with her. He is determined to become the upright citizen he thinks Nikki wants. Lawrence imbues this potential (okay, likely) manic pixie dream girl with complexity and heart, showing her as someone who’s unwilling to let Pat push her around or push her away — though aside from Tiffany’s loneliness, Lawrence is given little to indicate why her character feels compelled to try so hard with this erratic new arrival in her life. She enlists Pat as her partner in a dance competition, and slowly begins to win him over as well as his family, which is headed up by a skeptical Robert De Niro as Pat Sr., a football obsessive and bookie whose superstitious beliefs feed into his OCD. The glorious mess that is Pat’s family and community is the warmest, funniest aspect of Silver Linings Playbook , from Dolores’ continual preparation of “crabby snacks and homemades” to the earnest but panicked Ronnie and the repeated arrivals and subsequent reclaimings by police of Pat’s friend from the hospital Danny (Chris Tucker). De Niro, showing uncharacteristic (for his recent work) signs of life, is downright wonderful as Pat Sr., channeling his fondness and hope for his wayward son into an insistence that Pat watch Eagles games with him because he brings good luck. Pat isn’t as lovable as the filmmaker seems to find him, and sentiments like the one expressed by Danny that the mentally ill might “know something you don’t know” come cloyingly close to suggesting Silver Linings Playbook believes mood disorders to be a gift. The tangible details of the town and its supporting characters are anything but saccharine, however, and when the film takes time and indulges in them, it creates a sense of place you don’t want to leave behind. Poor thang… NOT! Kim Kardashian might not hear the word No often but word on the street is Kate Middleton had no problem giving her the brush off. Via The National Enquirer : THE princess of American reality TV is getting the royal brush-off from the future Queen of England! During a London trip to promote her clan’s clothing line, KIM KARDASHIAN put word out that she’d like to take tea with Prince William’s wife KATE MIDDLETON, said a source. But Buckingham Palace sent back a not-so-diplomatic answer – GET REALl! “Kim wasn’t happy because she’s obsessed with Kate, but the Duchess of Cambridge has no interest in becoming part of the Kardashian publicity machine,” said an insider close to the royal family. “Kate can’t stand their style, and from what she knows about their TV show, it’s just a bunch of trashy people primping and yelling at each other. She’s far too polite to diss Kim to her face, but she’s got enough on her plate without having tea with someone like her.” Royalty-crazy Kim headed across the Atlantic with her sister Kourtney for the early November launch of their Kardashian Kollection fashion line. Her beau Kanye West came along, and he encouraged his bootylicious squeeze to contact the duchess, said the source. “Kanye has met Prince William, who’s a big fan of his music, and he’s become a big fan of Kate too,” said the source. “He’s even suggested to Kim that she could take a leaf out of the royal beauty’s book and tone down her makeup for a more natural look.” In a bold move, the Kardashian sisters offered Kate free samples from their British line, which includes skintight sequin minidresses, pleather pants, blue leopard-print tops and gold-studded bags, according to the source. But the Kardashians shouldn’t expect any free publicity from England’s future queen. “Kate wouldn’t be caught dead in a Kardashian outfit!” sniffed the source. “The Duchess gets free clothes sent to her every day of the week, and she always sends them back. The royal family is very careful about not being seen to endorse any product. It’s just not proper. Quite apart from that, the Kardashian outfits just aren’t appropriate for a duchess. “Kate is hardly going to turn up for an event with the queen in a cheap leopard-print miniskirt or gold sequined jacket!” This is hilarious to us for some reason. Kimmy Cakes clearly gets NO LOVE in certain circles. WENN
Barack won before Ohio, Virgina, and Florida’s votes even came in tonight! With his voice strong but quivering with passion, Barack gave a heartfelt speech after a long night of waiting for the electoral votes to come in. POTUS let us know that “The role of citizens of our democracy does not end with your vote” after he thanked US ALL for campaigning and voting during the last few months. According to The Huffington Post : President Barack Obama did not just win reelection tonight. His victory signaled the irreversible triumph of a new, 21st-century America: multiracial, multi-ethnic, global in outlook and moving beyond centuries of racial, sexual, marital and religious tradition. Obama, the mixed-race son of Hawaii by way of Kansas, Indonesia, Los Angeles, New York and Chicago, won reelection in good part because he not only embodied but spoke to that New America, as did the Democratic Party he leads. His victorious coalition spoke for and about him: a good share of the white vote (about 45 percent in Ohio, for example); 70 percent or so of the Latino vote across the country, according to experts; 96 percent of the African-American vote; and large proportions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. The Republican Party, by contrast, has been reduced to a rump parliament of Caucasian traditionalism: white, married, church-going — to oversimplify only slightly. “It’s a catastrophe,” said GOP strategist Steve Schmidt. “This is, this will have to be, the last time that the Republican Party tries to win this way.” The GOP chose as its standard-bearer Mitt Romney, whose own Mormon Church until recent decades discriminated officially against blacks. His campaign made little serious effort to reach out to Hispanics voters, and Romney hurt himself by taking far-right positions on immigration during the GOP primaries. He made no effort whatsoever in the black community. Obama reached out not only racially and ethnically, but in terms of lifestyle. Analysts made fun of, and Republicans derided, his campaign’s focus on discrete demographic and social slices of the electorate, including gays and lesbians. But the message was one about the future, not the American past. U.S. Census numbers tell the story. In the first decade of the new millennium, the Asian-American population rose 43.3 percent, the African-American population 12.3 percent, the Latino community 43 percent — and the white population just 5.7 percent. To be sure, the president won because of his stand on the issues — health care reform, Wall Street regulation, the auto industry bailout, among others. But his victory is something more: a sense that we are all in this together as a society, no matter who we are or how we live our lives. I saw this new America at the heart of the Obama reelection effort, in their campaign offices. In one office in Virgina, for example, the local campaign manager was Pakistani-American, the volunteers were of every race and background, the people heading out to handle the signup drive were Hispanic, and the event they were working on was a concert by Bruce Springsteen. Not only did Barack and his mayne man Joe win the electoral vote, they also won the popular vote too. While Mitt won the white vote (SMH), he failed to bring in votes with minorities. Barack also brought in votes from more than 60% of young voters (those ages 18-29) and, even though he fell from 44% to 39% of the overall white vote this election year, he still stomped Robney with a huge lead. To quote CNN “This is a crisis amongst the Republican Party”. Crisis or not, we’re pretty sure POUTUS can get a lot more isht done than Mittens would’ve been able to over the course of the next four years. Images via facebook
Hi my name is Ashton and I was one of the lucky girls who got to meet Justin Bieber on October 19th in Minneapolis. I had been planning this for months and months, actually ever since his Mistletoe album came out; so about a year ago. The excitement started when my friend, Joe, and I got tickets to his concert back in May when it was the 1st day of the pre-sale tickets. He and I started planning what we were going to do and how we were going to meet him because I was SO determined to meet him . The closer and closer October 19th came around the more and more excited I got. I knew he had a concert in Canada Thursday night, figuring out they’d leave after that concert and come to Minneapolis, giving them a day off on Friday. I actually left school to come home Thursday night and stayed up until 4 am making posters and planning every small detail out. Joe, his girlfriend, Kate and I were planning on getting to the cities around 10 a.m. and start from there. The morning came and the excitement was over taking me. We got to the cities and parked, seeing many tour buses in sight, my heart was racing. We knew our best bet was Twitter, so we found the Starbucks across from the Target Center and waited there. I brought my laptop so I got on Twitter and pull up everyones that was on the team or apart of the tour ; Justin’s, Dan’s, Kenny’s, Alfredo’s, Scooters, Ryan’s, even Carly’s hoping one of them would Tweet something. Finally at about 11 a.m. Scooter tweeted “new day.. new adventure.” I immediately tweeted him back asking for any kind of clue as to where they were, I think about there was about 25 tweets to him. Then for some reason I thought to tweet Alfredo, because he seems to tweet the fans back a lot. So I asked him the same thing, and finally after 30 tweets Alfredo tweeted back “GYM!” and then deleted it , so only a select few could see it, I being one of them. Joe, Kate and I packed up and headed to Lifetime that was in the Target Center. However, on the way we saw a couple tour buses at the back of the Target Center so we stopped and waited a bit to see if Justin was in one. Two girls had spotted us and walked up to us asking if we were looking for Justin and of course, we were. They joined in with us as well as this other girl who was walking by herself. All seven of us headed to Lifetime but since its a gym and none of us had a membership how were we supposed to get in? Joe went in and asked if Justin was there and they said no if anything he’s at the private one, but they wouldn’t tell us where the private one was. We asked around and finally someone was like, “Oh its connected to the Grand Hotel off of 2nd Ave and 6th street.” We looked it up on GPS and started walking to it, finally turning the corner we saw a tour bus right out side of the hotel and booked it. Some guy waiting for the city bus was like, “You just missed him, he walked in literally five minutes ago.” Kinda bummed, but also excited still knowing we had found his hotel! It was about 12:30 p.m. and we decided to wait around. The group broke up to make it look less suspicious to other girls because we didn’t want a huge crowd, so Kelsey, one of the girls and I waited in at a bus stop and all of a sudden saw his grandparents just walking down the street. We ran up to them and said hi and they casually walked passed us saying hi back. Then the hotel security guy put up a rope to stand behind and right then and there we knew all we had to do was wait. We didn’t know how long it was actually going to be. It had already snowed for 3 hours that morning and was about 40 degrees outside, but I was determined and I was going to meet him. As time went on Dan Kanter walks in but stops to take pictures and talk to us, then Scrappy stopped and did the same, as did Kenny. We saw Alfredo walk in but only at the last second. At about 6 p.m. the group of girls saw Justin, Alfredo and Ryan walking down the street towards the hotel and they ran towards him but he ran into the garage entrance and had said, “I love you guys, I’ll be back later.” Kelsey and I managed to sneak into the hotel, so when we heard that we were a little sad we had missed him and decide to wait outside. Finally at about 8:30 p.m. Justin drove by the front of the hotel hanging out the window giving us the peace sign and drove off. The girls and I chased the car but couldn’t keep up and figured he had gone out to dinner and would be back like promised. So we waited, and waited, and waited. The group grew larger and larger making me doubt he’d actually stop and take pictures with us, but I stayed. All of a sudden a couple minutes before midnight Justin’s car pulls up and stops. He got out of the car with Alfredo and a body guard and we all ran towards him. The bodyguard put out his hands and said, “Stop! If you run to him he’s just going to get back into the car and leave. Let him come to you.” At this time my heart was racing and I was shaking, seeing Justin in the flesh…. never thought that would happen so close to me. Justin then came up to me and Kelsey and was like, “I’m going to start on this side,” as he singled for me to come and take a picture with him. I couldn’t believe it. I got my picture with him, hugged him, said thank you, as his response was, “You’re welcome sweetie,” and I walked away. My friend realized her camera had died and asked if she could use my camera, and of course she could. I stood by her and she waited for her turn, she handed Alfredo the camera and Justin saw I was to the side, he held out his arm grabbing my shoulder to pull me in as he said, “You might as well join in on the picture,” and smiled at me. So I had gotten a second picture with him. My dream came true, I met Justin Bieber, after 3 years of wanting to meet him it finally came true. It was worth every second of that day. I stood out in the snow and rain in 40 degree weather for 12 hours. Didn’t eat or drink anything all day. It was SO worth it. If there was one thing I learned from this experience. It’s that if you really want something and you set your mind to it, it’s possible! The next day I had so many people message me telling me how inspirational my story was to them, and it makes me happy knowing that I can help show people that anything is possible. If your reading this and feel discouraged because you don’t think its possible or will happen, I promise you that if you don’t give up and you dedicate your time to doing this, it is possible. Honestly, never say never, because I never thought this day would come for me, and it did. It was everything I could ever imagine it being and more. He is an incredible human being, with so much love and compassion towards his fans. If he has the opportunity to meet fans, he will take time out of his day or night to do so. Have faith in him, he won’t let you down. View post: Hi my name is Ashton and I was one of the lucky girls who got to…
This is too heartbreaking to read more than once. Stories of Sandy’s destruction just keep getting worse and news like this raise so many questions. According to The Daily Mail , the mother of two was holding her boys as a rush of waves knocked her over…and all she could do was watch as they were swept away. The remains of Brandon, two, and Connor Moore, four, were discovered only yards from where they went missing in Staten Island, New York. The boys’ mother Glenda Moore, 39, is said to have spent 12 hours screaming in the street after they were swept away, but residents would not help her look for them. The boys were sucked away by floodwater after Mrs Moore’s car stalled and became stuck just before 6pm on Monday near the 400-block of Fr. Capodanno Boulevard in South Beach…Ms Moore told police her car stalled and she became stranded in the marsh when the left her home in search of higher ground as the storm worsened. Mrs Moore, a nurse, tried to hold on to them but was overpowered by the force of the storm. Police found the young brothers about 30 yards off the corner of McLaughlin Street and Father Capodanno Boulevard. ‘Terrible, absolutely terrible,’ police commissioner Ray Kelly said. ‘It just compounds all the tragic aspects of this horrific event.’ The boys were about 20 yards apart from each other, under water, buried by trees and debris, law enforcement sources told the New York Post. After the storm cleared on Tuesday morning, officers, dogs and other searchers – armed with shovels, sticks and pitchforks – had been scouring those marshlands off Father Capodanno. A team of scuba divers were also there to search the marshy area. At 10:15am today, police in wetsuits found Brandon waist-deep in water. His brother was found close by shortly after. After the boys disappeared, Mrs Moore knocked on a nearby door for help but was told: ‘I don’t know you. I’m not going to help you.’ Mrs Moore then tried another neighbor near her Staten Island home, but when she rang the bell they turned off the lights and refused to answer. As the storm raged around her, the nurse took shelter in a doorstep, screaming and staring at the waters which had just snatched away her children. Twelve hours later, at dawn when the weather calmed down, she found the strength to walk down the street and flag down a passing police car to raise the alarm. Mrs. Moore is married to Damien, 39, who works at the New York Sanitation Department. They have no other children and are ‘devastated’ at the loss of their sons. Our hearts go out to the family but we’ve still got to ask…why did she head out at the last minute?? Images via NBC
