What Kind Of Fawkery Is This??? BLACK Op-Ed Writer Claims Blacks Should “Thank White America For Slavery”

We just knew this story was about to be about some crazy white guy trolling. But no. Believe it or not this is the thought process of a black writer named King Nazir Muhammad who published an op-ed on Newsblaze.com titled “Blacks Should Thank White America For Slavery”. Ready it below: Let’s look at the positive aspects of what slavery did for African Americans and what was gained from it. First, let’s look at slavery as a training process in which a person learns discipline and the value of work and how to build a nation. We can think of the slave master as a “teacher” and the slave as the student. Under this teaching, the students eventually learn to be a master themselves. This is the real relationship between the master and the slave, but many chose to look at it differently. Many see it as forced servitude without pay, but the payment is what is learned, to farm, to build, and to become a master. If blacks where not sold by their own African brothers to the slave masters, we would not have endured slavery in the first place. That is the negative that African Americans seem to purposely overlook so they will not have to confront their fierce African brothers one day. Nevertheless, what would life in Africa have brought us if we had never been made slaves? We obviously were a people who where looked at by the Africans as “useless.” That is why they sold us. So life there would have been of no real benefit, but because we were sold, we now are some of the smartest and wealthiest black people on earth. There’s more, but we’ll stop there. You can go to Newsblaze if you have to read the whole thing. SMH. Sorry but this is some BS from where we’re sitting. Slavery set up Black America for a LOSS — not a gain. Our families were broken apart, we weren’t able to amass wealth or pass it on to future generations, blacks were denied basic human rights… Crazy. How many people do you know who have this same mentality?

Florida Man Punches Shark That Bit Him

Josh Green, a student at University of Central Florida, was swimming last week when a shark tore into his leg. Of course, Josh did what any man with a set would do, he punched the shark. UCF Student Punches Shark Green told Knight News, UCF’s college newspaper,  “I didn’t realize it was a shark until I punched it, thinking it was someone messing with me and then felt the face.” Although Green got in a punch, the shark got the best of the fight. Green had to get 18 stitches in his foot, ankle, and calf. Green recalls, “When I hit it, my foot was sort of released and I just swam to shore as fast as possible. I limped out over to my friends and they brought me up to the lifeguard.” The lifeguard suspects it was a black tip shark. Whatever it was that he attacked, Green posted pics of his wounds , and they are nasty. He captioned the photos “sharkbait hoo haha.” View Slideshow: Florida Man: Strange Sunshine State Stories

Hispanic Dining Hall Workers Not Allowed To Speak Spanish Around Columbia University Students

Dining Hall Workers Not Allowed To Speak Spanish Around Columbia Students Columbia University dining hall workers are circulating a petition against “arbitrary and racist policies ” that allegedly forbid them from speaking Spanish in the presence of students or eating in the Butler lounge during their lunch breaks. The workers in question staff Blue Java Coffee bar in Butler Library, the Columbia Spectator reports. Via Gothamist : Unsurprisingly, these rules have not yet been made public by Dining Services. The petition, which began circulating yesterday and was written in collaboration with Student Worker Solidarity, states that Vicki Dunn, the executive director of Columbia Dining, first announced the rules during an orientation session in August 2013. According to the petition, at the time workers were relegated to eating their meals inside a closet. A timeline in the petition suggests the closet issue escalated considerably this spring. According to the petition, the closet rule has been “temporarily reversed.” Here’s an excerpt of the timeline: Early April, 2015 : [Columbia manager] Hazel Clark tells Butler lounge workers that a student complained about trash being kept outside in the lounge area. Responding to this complaint, Clark ordered that workers move the trash to the closet, where they were also expected to sit when eating. April 13, 2015: SWS members send email to Vicki Dunn expressing concern about workers eating in the closet, where the trash was kept and schedule meeting to discuss the issue. In response to the email, Dunn emails Butler Lounge management rescinding the rule that workers should eat in the closet. April 15: SWS members meet with Columbia dining administration, who claim not to know about the closet rule. They do not confirm or deny the prohibition on speaking Spanish, but cite student complaints in justifying rules against workers talking amongst themselves An anonymous dining worker quoted in the petition reasons, “If it wasn’t for us, they wouldn’t be raking in thousands of dollars a day from Columbia Dining Services. They need to treat us differently.” Discuss….

Ho Sit Yo Dumb Azz Down: University Of South Carolina Student Suspended For Viral List That Included “Ni**ers” As Top Reason Why Campus Wifi Blows

Student Suspended From University Of South Carolina Over Racist Snapchat Her parents must be so proud. Via WISTV reports: A student at the University of South Carolina has been suspended after a photo of the student who appeared to be writing a racial slur went viral Friday. The photo, which appears to be taken from Snapchat and posted on several social media sites, shows a list of reasons why “USC’s WiFi blows.” On the top of that list is the N-word. The University of South Carolina said it actually took place inside a study room. President Harris Pastides said the student was suspended Friday and a code of conduct investigation has begun. The course of action endorsed was also endorsed by the Board of Trustees, Pastides said. “The unfortunate and disappointing act of a student in a study room has challenged the Carolina community to reflect on our values and tell the world what we believe,” Pastides said in a statement. “Respect for all is at the heart of the Carolinian Creed, the code by which we agree to abide. Racist and uncivil rhetoric have no place at the University of South Carolina.” The student, who was not named, could also face expulsion. Following the incident the NAACP released the following statement: “A recent tweet that shows a student at the University of South Carolina listing the N-word as one of her grievances against the institution brings to mind a famous quote attributed to the French writer Alfonse Karr, “the more things change, the more they remain the same”. Such negative attitudes have existed since the first European explorers visited the land we now call America. It is disappointing but no longer shocking to see a college student following what appears to be a growing trend in our state and nation. Scenes such as this while captured in still shots from time to time through social media, sadly reflect what people of color often experience in many communities. In the midst of the positive portrayal of University of South Carolina students over the past several weeks, we once again face a stark reality: even at our highest points as a society there are those among us – including the young – who wish they were still in Dixie. This is why the NAACP cannot compromise, must not relent in its pursuit of dignity, justice and equality for all people in America.” The student shown in the photo has yet to say anything publicly about the incident. There goes that theory that only old people are racist… SMH. Do you think they should expel her? Twitter

Noose Found At Duke University Weeks After Young Woman Was Taunted With Racial Slurs

Another Racist Incident For Duke University, Noose Found On Campus Racial tensions continue to rise on the campus of Duke University . The second incident in just a few weeks has students rattled. According to Duke Chronicle reports : A noose was discovered hanging from a tree on the Bryan Center Plaza early Wednesday morning. Reports on social media showed a photo of the noose, made with a thin yellow rope, with several students linking the incident to racially charged motivations. The noose was removed from the tree prior to 2:45 a.m. Wednesday. Two police officers were on the scene speaking to a group of several concerned students shortly after reports surfaced online. The incident comes approximately two weeks after students allegedly chanted a racist song at a black female student, which prompted President Richard Brodhead and Provost Sally Kornbluth to send an email to the student body affirming Duke’s commitment to racial equality. The Duke University Police Department deferred comment until the morning. The Duke People of Color Caucus, an anonymous group that emerged following the alleged chanting, released the following statement on Tumblr along with a photo of the noose: To all black students, staff, faculty, and/or Durhamites on campus and in the area: Please take care of yourselves and each other. This campus is not a safe space, and has proven beyond any doubt that it is a hostile environment for any and all black people. One reblogger of the post commented, “I don’t feel safe on my own campus.” Damn can you blame them? NY Daily News published part of a statement from the University on the incident: The thin, yellow rope was cut down around 2:45 a.m., Vice President for Student Affairs Larry Moneta said in an email to students Wednesday, according to WRAL. “To whomever committed this hateful and stupid act, I just want to say that if your intent was to create fear, it will have the opposite effect,” Moneta wrote. The North Carolina university is investigating, he said. Craziness… Just to go into a little more detail, two weeks ago, a black female student accused her classmates of chanting a racist song — which including racial slurs and an allusion to lynching — at her. That incident prompted a the formation of the Duke People of Color Caucus, an anonymous online group. Click here for a full statement from the group’s Tumblr
