Kristen Leone Arrested For Having Sex With Student Gotta love the teachers of today: Investigators determined the 26-year-old Clifton High School history teacher engaged in sexual conduct with the male student on at least two separate occasions. Police launched an investigation into the allegations on Monday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes told CBS New York. Leone was arrested Monday and charged with sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of criminal sexual contact, luring and enticing a child, and two counts of official misconduct. She was released Monday night on $100,000 bail. Parents and students expressed shock over the allegations. “That’s disgusting, that’s unacceptable, that should never happen,” one parent told the station. Clifton High School has had more than its share of sex scandals. CBS New York reports that in the past year, at least three girls have claimed to having been raped or sexually assaulted by other students on campus. In 2010, the former principal was accused of exposing himself to the mother of a special needs student during a meeting about her child. Leone faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted. Rachel Ehmke, a Minnesota seventh grader, reportedly took her own life as a result of three months of cruel bullying at the hands of her classmates. Just 13, she was found hanged in her home on April 29 after suffering repeated abuse such as threats, being called a “slut,” “prostitute,” and worse. A text message allegedly circulated through the student body three days before her death, encouraging others to pick on her so she’d quit school. Rachel Ehmke Suicide Case Sparks Investigation The text, described by a parent as “pretty explicit,” came from a student at a different school, officials said. Regardless, it was too much for Ehmke. Her parents, Rick and Mary Ehmke, said Rachel – who pleaded with them not to report the bullying, so as not to inflame it – left a note that read: “I’m fine = I wish I could tell you how I really feel.” Somewhat surprisingly, Rick said he’s not going to pursue legal ramifications against those whose actions pushed his daughter over the edge. “They’re kids who made horrible decisions. If [they] would’ve known this would happen I’m pretty sure they never, ever would have done what they did,” her dad said. “Sadly enough, even those kids that know who they are will carry this baggage their whole life. That’s a sad thing too, it really is.”

6 Year-Old Kindergartner Arrested For Kicking And Threatening School Staff Educators know children throw tantrums. Kicking, screaming, violent tantrums. However, few would ever dream of calling the cops to arrest a tantrum-throwing child — especially a 6-year-old kindergartner. But that’s exactly what a Shelbyville family is facing after their son was arrested recently on allegations of kicking a principal and threatening to kill administrators at Hendricks Elementary School. School Principal Patrick Lumbley said this was a matter of doing what’s best for the student, who already had developed a pattern of aggressive behavior. “I know how this looks,” Lumbley said. “Our goal is, we want a successful adult one day. We hope we can get him on a path to success now, so when he’s a middle-schooler and teenager, he’s there.” Others, however, questioned the wisdom of taking such drastic action with such a young child. According to police, on April 18, the boy kicked Lumbley, 41, and also threatened him and assistant principal Jessica Poe, 34. The boy had just returned to school after serving a suspension for biting and hitting a staff member, a Shelbyville police report said. “We had reached a point where we were struggling with this particular child,” Lumbley said. “We had exhausted our resources here at the school as far as helping him.” Lumbley described the boy as typical in size and strength for a kindergartner — not strong enough to cause any serious harm to an adult. his kind of behavior is often associated with autism or other problems, but police and school officials declined to say whether this boy has been diagnosed with any medical or mental health problem. “I think arresting a 6-year-old is crossing the line,” said Dana Renay, director of the Autism Society of Indiana. “There are many other things the school could have done before they called police.” If the boy hasn’t already been diagnosed with a problem, Renay said it’s vital to get him checked out by doctors. Children with autism and other special needs have a special individual education plan that spells out how teachers will deal with outbursts and tantrums. Renay said there are organizations in Indiana, including hers, where families can receive free services for children with special needs. But children must first be diagnosed with a problem. “Kids have behaviors and behaviors need to be addressed,” Renay said. “Calling the police is not how you address a behavior where a young, young child is acting out.” SMH. Blood matching that of missing Marine wife Brittany Dawn Killgore has been found in the car of the chief suspect in her murder, according to new reports. Killgore was found dead near a lake in Riverside County. Staff Sgt. Louis Ray Perez and Jessica Lynn Lopez were arrested and charged with murder. Killgore was supposed to be going out for the evening with a Marine Corps sergeant and his girlfriend until the night of April 13 took a frightening turn. “She sent a text to a female friend of hers indicating that she was in distress,” San Diego Deputy District Attorney Patrick Espinoza said Thursday in court. “She was missing from that point on.” The first details about the investigation came out at Perez’s arraignment in Vista, Calif., where the prosecutor revealed the aforementioned text message. More significantly, officials also stated that police found Killgore’s blood in Perez’s car as well as a weapon. Authorities have not revealed a possible motive. Perez’s attorney told the judge that Lopez, who had been found with self-inflicted cuts in a motel room, left a suicide note admitting to Killgore’s murder. Both Lopez, 25, and Perez, 45, have pleaded not guilty to all charges. Killgore, the estranged wife of another U.S. Marine, was only 22 years old.
A bear can be seen falling from a tree in a truly memorable image after being tranquilized by police in Boulder, Co., this week. Fortunately, he’s doing fine. The young bear, estimated to weigh between 150-200 pounds, had somehow wandered onto the University of Colorado campus and climbed into a tree. While it’s never funny that an animal has to be tranquilized, all ended well. He landed safely on a mattress and was released into the wild when he woke up: “[The bear] was tranquilized by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Department and it fell onto some mats that the Rec Center provided,” CU Police said. “It was placed in a cage, relocated at a higher elevation and released.” Before it was tranquilized and immortalized in this photo, the bear spent about two hours in a tree near the campus dorms, terrifying students. Prosecutors in the city of Chenzhou charged the suspects with intentional injury for organizing the removal and transplant of a kidney from a 17-year-old high school student surnamed Wang, the official Xinhua News Agency said late Friday. Xinhua described one of the defendants named He Wei as being broke and frustrated over gambling debts. It said he asked another defendant to look for organ donors in online chat rooms and someone else to lease an operating room for the transplant, which took place in April last year. He received 220,000 yuan ($35,000) for the transplant, gave the student 22,000 yuan ($3,500) and shared the remaining money with the other defendants and several medical staff involved in the operation, Xinhua said. When the student returned home, he was asked how he could afford a new iPhone and an iPad and he told his mother that he sold one of his kidneys, the report said. The Southern Daily newspaper reported last month that other individuals have sold, or seriously considered selling, their kidneys to earn money for reasons that included paying off large debts, making a payment on a smartphone, or paying for an abortion for a girlfriend. “Without facing complete hardship, these young people born after the 1990s made rash decisions. According to the police report, which was published by the Arkansas Times, Petrino was not alone on his bike as he and the university had described. Arkansas released this statement after the accident: Coach Petrino was involved in a motorcycle accident on Sunday evening that involved no other individuals. He is in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery. Our family appreciates respect for our privacy during the recovery and we are grateful for the thoughts of Razorback fans at this time. Not so fast there… According to the police report, 25-year-old Jessica Dorrell was on the back of Petrino’s motorcycle at the time of the crash. As if this development wasn’t curious enough, Dorrell, a former volleyball player, just started her job working as the student-athlete coordinator for the Arkansas football team a week ago.
