But pulling over to the side of the road for a break is nothing compared to landing a plane in the middle of a California highway. According to NBC7 San Diego , a single-engine plane had to make an emergency landing last Friday due to an engine failure mid-flight. The aircraft was piloted by a 36-year-old flight student and a 25-year-old instructor. When the engine started having problems, the student handed over the reigns to the instructor, and they landed the plane right in the middle of Interstate 8 in El Cajon. No cars were hit and no one was injured. “For them to make that landing and have nobody else involved in it, I’d say that’s a miracle,” said California Highway Patrol Officer Travis Garrow. Boss. B ullying has become an ever-growing issue in schools across the country. According to StopBullying.gov , nearly 1 in 4 students say they have been bullied at school. After learning that his son was being tormented, a Houston father stepped in and took matters into his own hands in a positive way, KHOU11 reported. Instead of getting upset, Fontenot decided that the solution to stopping the issue would be to have a one-on-one conversation with the other child to get to the root of the problem. He took the child for a drive where they discussed what was going on at school. The youngster, whose name is Tamarion , shared that he bullies other kids because he is being bullied himself. After a phone conversation with Tamarion’s mother, Fontenot learned that his family was homeless. He ended up buying Tamarion new clothes and sneakers. The heartfelt conversation was captured in a video which has now gone viral. Tamarion and Jordan later met to discuss their issue and after learning more about each other ended up laying the foundation for a friendship. The two played video games at Fontenot’s tattoo shop. “One kid said one thing, another kid said something. I said we need to settle this stuff like men,” Fontenot told the news outlet. He also added that the encounter wasn’t only a learning experience for the children but for himself as well. “It taught me something. I was angry at first, then I said let me try something different.” There are many people who are taking a stand against bullying. Principal Akbar Cook created a laundry room at West Side High School in Newark for students being bullied about their unclean clothes. T here are some concerns about the safety of Black students at the University of South Alabama after nooses were discovered Tuesday (September 25) hanging from a tree on campus. See Also: Michigan State University Has A Strange Response To A Racist Student The university released a statement on Wednesday notifying the college community that the campus police identified the student responsible for the incident. “A University of South Alabama student has been interimly suspended and banned from campus, pending a formal hearing, after confessing to an incident discovered last night outside the campus dining hall. USA Police have determined the student acted alone in hanging a bicycle and two nooses in a tree,” the statement said. Free counseling was offered to students, but it’s unclear what steps the university will take to ensure student safety. The local NAACP chapter noted in its statement that Mobile, where the campus is located, was the site of the last documented Ku Klux Klan lynching. “This is a rare and isolated incident, and from a safety standpoint the student responsible has been suspended and barred from campus until a formal disciplinary hearing can be held,” the university’s spokesman Bob Lowry told NewsOne . Prior to the president’s statement, the Mobile County chapter of the NAACP criticized the university for not immediately addressing the situation. “This is a circumstance that many of us feel needs immediate attention considering America’s history and Mobile’s history,” a statement from Jordan Harris , president of the chapter, said. Harris pointed out that members of the KKK were responsible for hanging 19-year-old Michael Donald in 1981 from a tree in Mobile. A cafeteria worker was also fired after posting an offensive tweet from the university’s dining hall account. “The rope outside of the caf last night was just a sign that our food is KILLER! Come get some fried chicken and tell us any different,” the tweet said. The worker was an employee of Aramark, which manages the dining facility, the university stated. Photo by Eric Thayer/Getty Images The Texas Senator Faces Sexual Misconduct Allegations Another politician allegedly can’t keep their peen nestled in the privacy of their drawers. According to the American-Statesman , state Senator Charles Schwertner of Texas allegedly texted sexually explicit pics to a graduate student at The University of Texas. Schwertner reportedly met the student at an on-campus event this past summer. Schwertner is an alumni of UT and was invited to the event. According to two school officials with knowledge of the investigation, the student spoke with Schwertner saying she was interested in working in the Legislature. After the event, the two exchanged messages on LinkedIn before moving to text messages. Their messages were professional at first with the two discussing networking and career advice. But then, out of nowhere, Schwertner wrote, “I just really want to fu** you,” and he sent the student an image that appeared to be a pic of his genitals in the shower, according to a UT official who saw the exchange and the photo. The pic does not include Schwertner’s face. Did we mention, Schwertner has a wife and three kids. The student responded to Schwertner saying she thought he acted inappropriately, the officials said. Schwertner did not respond. The student then reported Schwertner’s actions to the school, which prompted an investigation. If the student’s allegations ring true, the university would consider banning Schwertner from campus says two officials. A third official said the university is also thinking about hiring outside legal counsel to investigate further. Through a spokesperson, Schwertner said he “categorically denies any knowledge of the accusations” and he intends to cooperate with UT’s investigation. Th UT officials will not reveal the identity of the student out of respect for her privacy and to honor their promise of confidentiality when she came forth. Student privacy laws also prohibit the university from sharing the student’s name. Meanwhile, Schwertner, a Republican, faces re-election on November 6. He will go up against Democrat runner Meg Walsh .
This is yet another story of a school employee having sex with a minor. A former middle school employee was arrested after she confessed to police. The woman claims that she “fell in love” with her underage victim … and that she lost her virginity to him. Hannah Siboyeh is a former employee of Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. In July of 2017, she was 23 when she began an elleged sexual relationship with an underage student. The student has not been identified, of course, as he is both a minor and the victim. But it sounds like the former Labay Middle School student was 15 at the time. According to court documents, Siboyeh has acknowledged that what she did was the result of “one mistake after another.” Authorities learned about this on April 5th, 2018, after another student came forward to an assistant principal. They had apparently been at the student’s home and they noticed that Siboyeh was allegedly in bed with the student. Court documents state that the student reported the two “lying in bed together and that weird noises would be coming from the room.” That is, emphatically, not appropriate for any adult and minor. Good for that student for recognizing that and having the bravery to come forward. When investigators spoke to witnesses, they confirmed that the boy and Siboyeh were engaged in a “boyfriend girlfriend” type relationship. Court documents say that Siboyeh didn’t exactly hold out under interrogation. When confrontated by law enforcement at the middle school, she is said to have “started crying and stated that she lost her virginity to” the victim. “She admitted that she loved [the teen] with all of her heart,” the documents read. “She described the relationship as one mistake after another,” the documents say. “And admitted that it was her fault because she was the grownup and was older.” Not that it makes anything else okay, but it’s good that she is at least not blaming the minor. It is always the adult’s responsibility. Siboyeh posted the $10,000 bond on Friday and was able to go free. She is of course instructed to avoid any contact with her victim or his family. Additionally, she is to avoid going within 200 feet of any sort of school or child care center, and she is also to give that clearance to the boy’s home. She has been instructed to avoid contact with anyone under the age of 17. A little less intuitively, she has been forbidden from accessing the internet.
