On April 17, 2012 I went to The Voice because I heard Justin Bieber was going to be there, I had to go! I had general tickets and it looked like we were going to get pretty crappy seats. We’ve been waiting and waiting for like 2 hours to at least get our wristbands. We finally got them and we got a blue one until this guy gave me a black one too. I was so confused because I now had 2 wristbands. He asked me if those 2 girls were my friends and I said yes. He’s said okay because I gave them black wristbands too. I asked what they were for. He told us we would be sitting in the PIT! I was freaking out! My friend Nicole was dying because she is in love with Adam Levine and Justin Bieber too. We waited another good hour and began walking toward the studio. We were waiting in line before going into the studio and Justin and Scooter were driving on a golf cart right by us! All I saw was Scooter because everyone was blocking my way. But that was still exciting for me. Anyways the show goes on, we meet The Wanted, they preformed right in front of us and talked to us. They’re such sweet guys! Then we met Adam Levine, Christina Auguilara, Cee Lo, Blake and then of course Justin Bieber. During comercial breaks I was like, “Adam tell Justin I said whats up” and he was laughing and said “Okay.” The show was so much fun! All I could think about was seeing Justin. I heard Carson Daily say, “and now it’s time to premiere the video,” etc and I hear Justin, I just couldn’t see him yet! My friend was like, “Omg he’s behind, you turn around!” I turned and I saw him standing there. Everyone around me knew I was such a huge fan, I was screaming and couldn’t help but have the biggest smile on my face and tears. He’s grown up and come so far and I’m really proud to say that I’ve been a fan since the very beginning. Then after they were like thanks for coming and he was saying bye to all the judges. I was so sad because I thought he wasn’t going to come close to me. All of a sudden I see him running up the steps and coming straight towards me and the rest of the fans. I was in total shock, I was speechless. All I could do was point to my cheek and he grabbed my hand and went, “Muuuuuaaaaaaaaaahhhhh” and kissed me. My friends were screaming in shock, we were so speechless!! After it was commercial break and the guy who was keeping the crowd going came and asked who did he kiss and I was like me! He was like, “How does it feel to be kissed by Justin Bieber and make everyone jealous” and stuff like that. I felt so happy, I couldn’t help but keep a smile on my face. Then I come home to find out that him kissing me was on TV! I was so happy because some people didn’t believe me. Justin is truly the nicest guy ever and he’ll never forget about his fans and how much you guys have impacted his life. We support him and he shows us his love for us back. Singer Hayley Williams says band is working on ‘a pretty strange schedule.’ By Gil Kaufman Paramore’s Hayley Williams Photo: MTV Less than six months ago, Paramore said they were determined to have more fun while recording their fourth studio album . Well, so much for that. On Wednesday, singer Hayley Williams gave fans a long-awaited update on the band’s still-untitled effort, which, from the sounds of it, has not been much of a party so far. “I’ve never known what it’s like to be home for more than a few weeks at a time that absolutely nothing is going on,” wrote Williams in a lengthy post in which she decried how quickly time flies. “The only thing I could think about was if we could snap our fingers and make the 4th album happen so that the next time I looked up, we’d be back on a stage somewhere and not sitting around at home. But you can’t just make things like that happen. For something to be great, there has to be some kind of trial or some type of struggle that actually makes it special or valuable to you. Otherwise, anything could be easily taken for granted.” After promising fans last year that they would release new music despite the December 2010 departure of members Josh and Zac Farro, Paramore weren’t able to produce a full-length album. They did, however, launch a killer single, “Monster,” and a Singles Club that served up fresh tracks “Hello Cold World” and “Renegades.” The group, which made it to the Elite Eight in this year’s Musical March Madness , are hard at work on the follow-up to 2009’s Brand New Eyes . So far, they’ve finished at least one song, “Daydreaming,” for the album that is being produced by former Beck band member Justin Meldal-Johnsen. “There’s no reason to lie about it, the first few months of writing were ridiculously draining and a lot more of a pain than a pleasure,” Williams said. “It was supposed to be fun right? We made it all the way to this point to just struggle some more. So, you can probably imagine that when the flood gates burst this past January and inspiration started filling us up again, we were more than willing to let it take us wherever it wanted. We’ve written a lot of songs I never thought we would write. And we aren’t done yet! The writing will continue even as we enter the studio.” Williams reported that she, bassist Jeremy Davis and guitarist Taylor York went in to record the track a week-and-a-half ago excited, but unsure if the results would be something they could use. “At the end of our time in the studio, it was clear to us that this was definitely right!” she wrote. “In case you can’t tell, we’re working on a pretty strange schedule, by our standards. There has never been so much time and care put into a Paramore album. Usually, we are rushing to make a very strict deadline, which so far has just not been right for this record. We cannot assure you it will be out this year. What we can tell you is that from now on, when we go in to create this thing, whether for a day at a time or for a month, you will be kept more informed. British boy banders clear the air with MTV News about their studio visit with the teen superstar. By Jocelyn Vena One Direction Photo: MTV News There’s been some chatter about a possible One Direction collaboration with the one-man boy band known as Justin Bieber for some time now. It all started in March when Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, teased that he and the Biebs were thinking about working with the chart-topping boy band . “[A collaboration is] very possible. He likes them and thinks they are good dudes. All people of that generation should be there to help each other.” The chatter had died down for a bit, until this week when the guys of 1D tweeted that they had visited Bieber in the studio . That led fans to speculate that the six guys had recorded something together, though it wasn’t clear what. Tweets like “expect the unexpected” fueled the fire. But when MTV News caught up with the guys in New York City, they were quick to clarify that all they were there to do was listen to some of their pal’s new music. “We actually went down to the studio to listen to some of Justin Bieber’s tracks,” Liam Payne explained. “He invited us down and we had a good listen, but there’s no real collaboration or anything.” With chatter about any big group-sing in the works between the six heartthrobs now over and done, Payne gave us a little critique of Believe , which drops later this year. “We were just having a listen to some of his music and hanging out,” he said, adding, “[It’s a] really good, really good album.” That seems to jibe with some of the tweets the guys sent out on Wednesday, prompting the initial collaboration conjecture. Tyler Perry shared his recent encounter with the Atlanta Police Department on his Facebook fan page yesterday. Perry says he was stopped by police officers soon after leaving his Atlanta studios. The officers did not know who he was and he felt that he was in a situation that could have gone very badly until another officer arrived. This is an excerpt of what he shared: A few days before President Obama was supposed to speak at my studio, I was leaving the studio, headed to the airport. Most times when I leave the studio I have an unmarked escort. Other times I constantly check in my rearview mirror to be sure that I’m not being followed. It’s a safety precaution that my security team taught me. As I got to an intersection, I made a left turn from the right lane and was pulled over by two police officers. I pulled the car over and put it in park. Then, I let the window down and sat in the car waiting for the officer. The officer came up to the driver’s door and said that I made an illegal turn. I said, “I signaled to get into the turning lane, then made the turn because I have to be sure I’m not being followed.” He said, “why do you think someone would be following you?” More than 92,000 fans liked his thoughts, another 8,741 shared them and more than 15,000 comments have been made on this story as of 10:15 P.M. [ Flash 10 is required to watch video.] My name is Lexi and I’m 18 and MBE all started Monday January 30th when I found out Justin Bieber was coming to Miami to record his new album! I thought I knew where he was recording so I told my friend Taylor and she decided to go check it out! A little bit after she got there, she texted me and told me he was going to be there tonight! But I had class that night. Luckily I ended up taking a test before class and it let me drop the class completely! After I raced home and begged my sister’s boyfriend to let me use his car, he finally said yes! I speeded all the way until I got there! When I met up with my friend Taylor, there was around 15 other girls there, and then suddenly a car pulled up and it was Justin! I was beyond excited! Everyone ran to the gate. He came and said he really didn’t have a lot of time but he would take a group picture! Of course I was okay with that. I ended up being no where near him in the picture. But I left right after the picture at like 11:30. At around 12, Alexis and Danielle showed up and just waited outside until Justin ended up coming out and because they were the only 2 girls that were there, he came over and took pictures with them. The next night Wednesday February 1st. There was about 30 girls there. We all went back that night and this is when I met Alexis, and Danielle. We started talking and they told me the best way to get a single picture with him is to wait until hardly no one was here. We ended up going to Walmart together to get lawn chairs and other stuff we needed. We all sat and talked together the whole night. Justin would come out randomly to walk to the other studio or skateboard for a little, but he couldn’t really stop and take pictures and sign stuff for us. Paparazzi was there and Justin didn’t wanna skateboard with them around. Alfredo would come out with him too, so we would talk to him for a little. At around 4:30am Amanda had to leave, but me Alexis and Danielle stayed. And at around 5am there was about 7 of us left and Justin and Alfredo came out. Justin was skateboarding and we all just watched and would randomly ask questions and he would answer and talk to us, it was really fun! The sprinklers in the bushes turned out right by the gate we were at watching Justin at but we all just stood there getting soaked so we could still see him. Then he decided to come and take pictures with us and sign some stuff! He was so nice! He stood there and talked to Danielle, Alexis and I. We all ended up leaving around 6am. I got home around 7am, slept for 3 hours, got up and went to work, and after work showered and got ready, picked up my sister Jamie and headed back to the studio. That night was Thursday February 2nd. Someone from Timbaland’s crew accidentally tweeted the name of the studio, so that next there was about 200+ girls, the news was there and it was a whole big scene! When Justin got there, it got crazy. He ended up leaving early. Basically everyone left. Danielle, Alexis, Amanda, Amanda’s mom Dania, and her friend’s kids were still there. Out of no where, Lil Wayne comes out! He ended up coming over and talking to us and was really nice! Wayne let Max come inside the studio and skateboard with him! He was so happy and then Lil Wayne even came out of the gate and took pictures with us. He ended up hitting on Amanda’s mom Dania. He had us give our phone numbers to his assistant, and he told us for you girls only I’ll do something special, for you and Justin! We were all like okay cool thanks! When me and my sister both got in the car, we had like a mental breakdown! The next day, Friday February 3rd was the day I’ve been waiting forever for! Again there was probably around 200+ people there and Justin got there and he ran out of his car and straight to the skateboard and started skateboarding in front of all his fans! I have no idea what made him decide to do this, but he took off his shirt! It was amazing . After he skateboarded for like 10-15 minutes, they were like, “Okay Justin we have to go record,” so he went inside, and that’s when so most people left. While we waited, Alfredo and Scooter came outside and it was fun! Scooter talked to us a lot and told us stories about Justin. At around 3am, Scooter left and we sat outside waiting. At around 4am Lil Wayne got to the studio! We were all like, “It’s Dania’s daughter!” He came to gate around 5am and told us he would let us in. He took us into the studio and told us to just sit here and he will be in a minute. A minute later, Justin finally walks in! He comes and shakes all of our hands and said,”Hi. I’m Justin.” After that we took pictures, we talked about his 18th birthday, where he wants to live etc. And luckily we got to hear a beat to one of his songs in the background. After about 15 minutes, he said, “It was really nice to meet you guys but I have to go back to recording,” so we said our goodbyes, and went outside. When we were outside, we meet Mike Posner who was helping Justin with his album. Then some of us took pictures with Justin’s skateboard then we left! It was one of the most amazing weeks and to me the greatest MBE. It was definitely worth missing shifts and getting on trouble at work. And the exhaustion. High five to Fox for pulling their bullet-ridden Neighborhood Watch marketing materials from Florida theaters this week following the February killing of Trayvon Martin. Trying to get as much distance as possible from the teaser’s emphasis on grown men Ben Stiller , Vince Vaughn , Jonah Hill , and Richard Ayoade stalking and finger-shooting suburban kids is a good idea and a sensitive move — not to mention a no-brainer necessity, PR-wise — so the studio’s forthcoming campaign will likely focus on the film’s “broad alien-invasion comedy” elements. But even four months from now, will it be too soon for Neighborhood Watch to make fun escapism out of vigilante violence? A Fox representative explained the studio’s decision to THR : “We are very sensitive to the Trayvon Martin case, but our film is a broad alien-invasion comedy and bears absolutely no relation to the tragic events in Florida,” a Fox spokesperson tells THR. “The movie, which is not scheduled for release for several months, was made and these initial marketing materials were released before this incident ever came to light. The teaser materials were part of an early phase of our marketing and were never planned for long-term use. Above all else, our thoughts go out to the families touched by this terrible event.” Extending that retraction on a wider scale might even be in order, seeing as the media firestorm over Martin and his shooter, George Zimmerman, is now a national conversation and not just one for Floridians. Which brings us to the big question: Is the Trayvon Martin case too big, too incendiary, or just too heartbreaking for Neighborhood Watch to come out as planned, and perform well, in four months’ time? What’s in the teaser trailer may be an indication of the problem here: Whether or not it’s revealed in marketing materials, the film seems to glorify the kind of volunteer policing that Martin shooter Zimmerman was a part of in real life. The sounds of Dr. Dre’s “Still D.R.E.” underscore the comically grandiose slow-motion crawl of the Neighborhood Watch gang — they’re lazy suburbanites using a self-important Neighborhood Watch front to get away from their families, but once the aliens invade they’ll become true-blue heroes. (Since I haven’t seen the film, I’m only guessing here — maybe it’ll turn out that the aliens were only visiting peaceably, their presence horribly misunderstood by overzealous would-be heroes, who resolve their differences with nonviolence.) That setup would be fairly harmless if it didn’t tap directly into the debate over what really happened on February 26 in Sanford, FL. Zimmerman was an active Neighborhood Watch captain in his gated community who, by many accounts, took citizen policing very seriously; following Martin as a suspicious person on the day of the incident led to the unarmed 17-year-old’s fatal shooting, which Zimmerman claimed was an act of self-defense. Neighborhood Watch , penned by Seth Rogen , Evan Goldberg, and Jared Stern as a ” hard R ” and directed by Lonely Island ‘s Akiva Schaffer, is still on Fox’s schedule for a July 27 wide release. According to the THR report, the studio doesn’t plan on pushing back the debut, despite the ongoing furor over the Martin case. I’d like to think that Martin’s death will be resolved but not forgotten by then, if only to give his family and all who’ve become invested in the case some closure, but I’m skeptical that four months — or five, or a year, or any measure of time — will be long enough that I won’t be thinking of George Zimmerman while watching Ben Stiller blow away the aliens who darken his doorstep.
