‘Breaking Dawn’ Part Two Release Date Not Set For Summer 2012

Summit exec says the final ‘Twilight’ movie’s release date is ‘still the source of discussions.’ By Eric Ditzian Stephenie Meyer’s “Breaking Dawn” Photo: Little, Brown and Company In June, Summit Entertainment announced that “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” will be released as two separate films , with the first part arriving on November 18, 2011. Though no release date for the second part has been announced, the conventional wisdom has been that the second part would follow in the summer of 2012. Not so fast. Summit distribution chief Richie Fay told MTV News that no such decision has been made and that the studio is still exploring multiple release dates, not just ones in the summer. “We’ve targeted a number of dates, and we have yet to determine when it will happen,” Fay said. “We haven’t even determined that it will be the summer. It’s still the source of discussions.” Of course, studios always explore various release dates for pictures, especially established blockbusters, and the fact that Summit hasn’t committed the second “Breaking Dawn” to the summer season shouldn’t be mistaken for confusion or indecision within studio headquarters. But the 2012 summer movie calendar is rapidly filling up, not necessarily with films that widely share an audience with “Breaking Dawn,” but with established franchises or properties in their own right. That May will offer “The Avengers,” “Madagascar 3” and “Men in Black 3,” while June delivers a “Star Trek” sequel. The rebooted “Spider-Man” has already nabbed the July 4th slot (occupied this year by “Eclipse”), followed closely by another “Ice Age” and a third “Batman.” Surely there’s room here for “Breaking Dawn,” but Summit now has experience releasing “Twilight” movies both in the summer and the fall. And, as Fay says, the studio might not be ready to pick a season for “Breaking Dawn” until “Eclipse” finishes up its theatrical run . “We might have a preference when we see where ‘Eclipse’ ends up,” he said of choosing one season over another. “It certainly might color our thinking, but we’re comfortable with either place. Right now, it’s a bit early in that stage of planning.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Jeremy London Thought He Was ‘Going To Die’ During Alleged Kidnapping

‘Party of Five’ actor insists abduction happened, but others have cast doubt on his story. By Gil Kaufman Jeremy London Photo: Charley Gallay/WireImage Reacting to reports that have cast doubt on his tale of an abduction during which he was allegedly forced to smoke drugs and drink, former “Party of Five” star Jeremy London made his first statements about the incident on Tuesday, telling RadarOnline , “I thought I was going to die.” London, 37, a recovering addict, said the alleged incident in Palm Springs, California, a week and a half ago really rattled him. “It’s been an absolute nightmare,” London said in the interview, which appeared to be shot on a camera phone in a car and during which his voice was shaky. “First of all, I want to say [the incident] actually did happen. It was one of the worst days of my life. I thought I was going to die. Thank God I made it out alive.” The actor said his alleged captors put a gun to his head and threatened his family, adding, “We’re working closely with the Palm Springs Police Department to get the rest of the guys. There’s one guy in custody. There’s two more out there.” The one confirmed suspect, Brandon Adams, 26, has been charged with kidnapping, robbery, possession of stolen property, vehicle theft and carjacking. According to Radar, in a statement released on Monday, Adams’ lawyer said the pair had “partied together” on the evening of the alleged abduction. “I’m confident that a jury will find that the allegations are just not true,” said attorney Gregory Geist. People magazine reported that London has been involved in a nasty custody battle with his ex-wife, Melissa, over their 3-year-old son, Lyrik. But it appeared the two had reconciled, since reports have emerged that Melissa, who has also allegedly struggled with drugs, was with London earlier on the night of the alleged kidnapping. The former child actor lashed out at his mother, his twin brother Jason and his brother’s girlfriend in the interview, claiming they were spreading “outrageous lies” about the incident. London added that he hasn’t spoken to his family in six months, has sent legal threats to them to stop talking to the press and is seeking a restraining order against them. According to Radar , one of the most damning pieces of evidence casting doubt on the kidnapping allegation are reports that Melissa was dropped off at home by the alleged abductors when she decided she wanted to leave. London was trying to change a tire when three men stopped to help him on June 10, after which he offered to drive them home and they allegedly held him at gunpoint and drove him around for five hours, reportedly forcing him to smoke crack cocaine and amphetamines and then purchase alcohol and hand it out in a gang-infested area of Palm Springs. London is adamant that the incident occurred, saying in the Radar interview that the kidnappers told him, “Hit this! Hit this or I’m gonna kill you!” as they held a gun to his head and threatened to go after his son. “I had a gun put to my head,” he said. “I had my family threatened.” Melissa London backed up her husband’s story, saying that the tony Palm Springs area has been hit by a crime wave lately. “Police told us this is the new thing to do down here,” she said. “Rob people at gunpoint and make them do drugs so they won’t be reliable witnesses. It’s happening more and more.” When asked if police have any doubts about London’s version of events, Palm Springs Police spokeswoman Melissa Desmarais told the site, “No, not at this point. Our investigators had enough information to arrest a suspect and the investigation is ongoing.” Asked about Melissa London’s claims that kidnapping and forced drug-taking incidents are on the rise in the Palm Springs area, a Palm Springs Watch Commander Sergeant said, “We have not had a rash of them — they are not commonplace here.” Speaking to People on Monday, Jason London said, “I’m glad my brother’s okay, but I have serious questions about what transpired. His health is our number one concern.” Related Videos Brand New ‘Eclipse’ Sneak Peeks MTV Rough Cut: Kristen Stewart

Bizarre Says Eminem, D12 ‘Back In The Lab’ For New Mixtape, Album

‘We’re in our little grimy studio and we’re knocking it out,’ Biz says, in Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Bizarre Photo: Shady The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive D12’s Bizarre says “the Band” is back in the lab making music together. The Detroit collective are simultaneously recording their next official LP and a new mixtape. “It took Marshall a little bit of time to get on his grind,” Biz said of his D12 partner Eminem. “Now he’s about to drop the Recovery album. I got my album, I snuck it in there,” added the rapper, who just released his solo independent LP, Friday Night at St. Andrews. “Right now we’re working on this mixtape. We decided we should work on this mixtape to get the streets a little hot right quick then drop the album. We’re kinda doing both at the same time. We’re definitely back in the lab working. All original material,” Biz said of the tape. “If you got some beats man, hit me up, man. We don’t discriminate when it comes to music — ain’t no politics with us. If you got some fresh music, some hotness, we got you.” Biz noted that with all the fellas back together after a long hiatus, which included grieving over the death of their partner Proof in 2006, the vibe finally felt right. “It’s good, man,” he said. “It’s a nice feelin’, man. We’re taking it back to the roots. We’re in our little grimy studio and we’re knocking it out. I can’t describe the feeling. To get back in there with the group and get on some beats, it’s a challenge within ourselves. We don’t even let each other hear each other’s verse before we rap, so you definitely need to be trying to come with it. It’s a friendly competition thing. It’s a lot of pressure, but it’s good pressure.” It’s probably no surprise that the guy who’s really terrorizing the booth on both efforts is Em. “Em is sounding crazy,” his longtime friend said. “He always sounds crazy. This dude is an alien. He’s probably got hundreds of raps thought about already, in different styles and different patterns. That’s one dude you can’t compare yourself to … or worry about what he’s doing. If you worry about that cat, you’re gonna be lost.” While his rhymes will surely reign on the D12 project, whether we’ll hear any beats from the Shady Records head is up in the air. “Em ain’t really into producing no more, but he’s gonna be on both projects,” Biz said. Neither D12 project has a release date, but Biz said he thinks the mixtape will drop in the fall on the mischief-making Devil’s Night. For now, Bizarre is pushing his solo LP and recording. “It’s a … historic place in Detroit,” he explained of his album’s title. “[St. Andrews], it was a church that they turned into a club and had hip-hop on Friday night. Being that Detroit is such a gangsta city, this was the only outlet we really had for hip-hop, breakdancing and battling. Basically, I’m paying homage.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines or follow the Mixtape Daily team on Twitter: @shaheemreid and @mongosladenyc .
