Spike Lee And Russell Simmons Say The Academy Made A Mistake Not Giving Denzel An Oscar For Fences As predicted by many, Denzel Washington lost out on his Best Male Actor In A Lead Role Oscar Sunday night to Casey Affleck , whose movie “Manchester By The Sea” seemed like another boonies of Boston working class movie produced by Matt Damon and Ben AFfleck to us… Affleck was gracious in his acceptance and acknowledged that he learned his craft by watching Denzel. Two of our culture’s elder statesmen — Spike Lee and Russell Simmons — wasted no time in commenting about the tremendous failure on the Academy’s part to give Denzel his just due. Russell Simmons echoed Spike and Devon Franklin’s opinion that Denzel crushed his role in ‘Fences’ Russell went kinda hard in the paint after the show but we noticed he took down this strongly worded post and replaced it with the one below: Wonder why he did that? You think Denzel asked him to change it? The academy? In anycase, do you agree that Denzel was robbed? Did anyone even see ‘Manchester By The Sea’? But that didn't make them any less dramatic or impactful. “People ask me all the time, what kind of stories do you want to tell, Viola?” said Davis early on in her acceptance speech, adding: “And I say, exhume those bodies, exhume those stories, the stories of the people who dreamed.” She went on, explaining her rationale and showering praise on her industry in general. “I became an artist, and thank god I did, because we are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life. So here’s to August Wilson, who exhumed and exalted the ordinary people.” The How to Get Away with Murder star continued to gush over the playwright behind Fences, which she described as, “a movie that is about people, and words, and life, and forgiveness, and grace.” Now the only black woman to have won an Oscar, Emmy and Tony for acting, Davis referred to co-star and director Denzel Washington as her “captain” and told the actor: “Thank you for putting two entities in the driving seat: August and God. More sad news today out of the television world. A few hours after we learned that Bill Paxton died at the age of 61, due to complications after heart surgery, TMZ is reporting that Jospeh Wapner has also passed away. The retired judge rose to surprise TV stardom as the host of The People’s Court. He was 97 years old. Long before Judge Judy and many others in this profession used the small screen to take their career to a new and famous level, Judge Wapner sat on the bench in September of 1981 at the front of The People Court. In many ways, it was the first reality show of all-time. And Wapner earned instant fandom as its clear-cut star. Opinionated, intelligent, affable and humorous, Wapner led the series for 12 years and 2,484 total episodes. He earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in recognition of his work in the entertainment space. . The program itself was parodied on Saturday Night Live. In Rain Man, Dustin Hoffman was often quoted as his character of Raymond for saying there were only “three minutes to Wapner,” an expression that took on a life of its own for years. Prior to signing on as a television judge, Wapner served as an L.A. County Superior Court judge for over two decades. According to TMZ insiders, he was hospitalized last week after suffering a few breathing problems. The condition sadly grew worsen, prompting a transfer to his home in Los Angeles on Friday, February 24, at which time Wapner was placed hospice care. He passed away on Sunday morning. After The People’s Court was canceled in 1993, it aired in syndication until it was revived for a second incarnation in September 1997. For this version, former attorney and mayor of New York Ed Koch replaced Wapner for two seasons and was later succeeded by Judge Jerry Sheindlin and Florida State Circuit Court Judge Marilyn Milian, the latter of whom has since become the show’s longest-reigning arbiter. Black Hollywood Makes A Statement At The Independent Spirit Awards The Spirit Awards were held on Saturday and they set the tone for all types of Black Excellence sure to be coming our way on Oscar Sunday. We were excited to see Kerry Washington post up for photos with Janelle Monae. Both ladies looking absolutely stunning and gorgeous in every way. Kerry’s hubby Nnamdi Asomugha also made a rare appearance at the event. Taraji P. Henson looked beautiful as always. She’s become such a pro at always showing up looking stunning. We love to see Ruth Negga on a carpet. She did such an amazing job in “Loving.” Relative newcomer Sasha Lane also made a big statement at the awards in her Black Lives Matter jersey. Sasha is the star of “American Honey” which also starred Shia Labeouf Sasha is multi-racial. Her dad is black and mom is part Maori from New Zealand. WENN

Is Rick Grimes the luckiest person alive? It certainly seemed that way on The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 10 when he continued to round up people to fight for his cause against the brutes known as The Saviors. Rick’s storyline kicked off pretty much where we left off last week. Rick and his people were surrounded by a new group. The powers that be were not lying when they claimed they were expanding the world. Watch The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 10 Online There have been so many new groups throughout The Walking Dead Season 7 that it’s getting pretty difficult to keep track of it. If you watch The Walking Dead online, you’re probably enjoying it. The series has suffered over past few seasons with a lack of consistent pacing and storytelling, so it’s surprising that Season 7B is off to such a strong start. Rick tried to reason with these new people, who laughed off the idea of going to war. However, the leader — known as Jadis, pulled Rick aside and asked for some more details. It was evident she did not want to agree to war straight off the bat, or her people would have questioned her leadership. Yes, Rick would know a lot about that and could probably take some leadership training from his new best friend. Jadis was eager to find out whether Rick was worthy of her time, so she threw him into a pit of garbage with a walker who had a little too much protection. Rick struggled to get his bearings because he was so shocked by all of it, but thanks to Michonne shouting through a pipe at him, he managed to eke out a victory. Who would have guessed you could use garbage to take down one of the most protected walkers in the history of walkers? Not us. Unfortunately for Rick, the scuffle resulted in him getting a huge hole in his hand. But, he did manage to prove himself to this new community, and they agreed to go to war if Rick was kind enough to get them some weapons. Considering the way Rick said they could win the war, Jadis probably knew he was talking crap. It would not be surprising if Jadis double-crossed them at the last second. Yes, she needs guns, but is she prepared to throw her group into a war that will signal the loss of most of her people? I think not. Jadis is one of the more intriguing characters this time around. She built a strong rapport with Rick and did not seem to care that Gabriel almost killed one of her people. Maybe she’s smarter than she looks. Elsewhere, The Saviors appeared at The Kingdom to pick up their latest shipment, but Richard was still having issues with one of them and the pair fought it out. However, they were told to quit it, but this just fueled Richard’s appetite for murdering some Saviors. He reeled Daryl in on a plan to to kill some and send the villains Carol’s way. But Daryl had no idea Carol was living in such close quarters and battled with Richard to stop his crazy plan before it went too far. The pair fought, with Daryl eking out a victory. Ezekiel and his men then dropped off some cobbler to Carol, who did not want anyone near her. Just as she sat down to enjoy her book (at a window!) her door was knocked again. This time, however, it was her old pal, Daryl. It made for a heartbreaking reunion. Daryl felt the need to lie about Glenn, Spencer, Olivia and Abraham being murdered by Negan. This was down to the fact that Carol was already hurting because of the way she had acted in the past. They shared dinner and Daryl returned to the Kingdom. Does Daryl have an untold story of working in a zoo, or something? Either way, Daryl made his getaway from the Kingdom with the intention of returning to the hilltop. The daughter of The Great One, Paulina Gretzky has some great news to share with the world: She is expecting another child!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The model and husband Dustin Johnson confirmed this miraculous development on Sunday, in somewhat unusual fashion: As you can see above, 28-year old beauty shared a snapshot of her hand over her bump while she holds up an ultrasound photo that reads “Baby Johnson #2.” “Coming soon…” Gretzky wrote as a caption to the image, along with a heart emoji and a baby emoji We also say it’s unusual because Paulina is sitting next to her dog in the photo, as opposed to the man who played a pretty important role in the pregnancy. Not that we doubt Gretzky’s love for Johnson. Last August, Paulina stood up strongly for her husband, after a bunch of idiots slammed Johnson for skipping the Summer Olympics in Brazil. He did so due to Zika, a virus whose side effects include birth defects in future children. As proven out here, Gretzky and Johnson wanted to have more kids, making it an easy decision for Johnson to stay home, rather than risk harming his next baby. Naturally, however, because the Internet is a horrible place, critics jumped all over Johnson for his supposedly un-American choice to skip the Games… prompting an awesome response from his wife. “Listen here you hating pieces of shit trolls,” Paulina wrote on Instagram, adding: “I’ll say it once he didn’t work his ass of his entire life for a gold medal he achieved his MAJOR and let everyone else do what they need to do and leave my fanf-ckingtastic man alone [peace sign].” There you go. “Shans Of Sunset” Reality Star Reveals Secret Elopment Another day, another secret “celebrity” wedding! “Shahs of Sunset” fans will be happy to hear that one of the show’s stars, Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi is married. The reality starlet shared the news on Instagram, but later deleted the post. Fortunately E! News grabbed the caption in time: “January 25, 2017 We walked into a courthouse just to see what type of paperwork is needed for getting married. They sarcastically told us there’s a small chapel we could go to and do it right then,” she captioned a touching video of the ceremony. “An hour later, we walked out of that chapel as husband & wife. We clearly weren’t dressed for it and I couldn’t stop laughing from shock… but f–k it… we’re not like ordinary people.” Anyone who has seen the show knows that GG is far from ordinary. We don’t know much about Shalom, but apparently GG isn’t the only reality star he’s dated. Fans pointed out that they remembered him from his relationship with Durrani on “Dash Dolls.” Hopefully things will be better with GG. The marriage reveal wasn’t the only post from Golnesa.
