Drake presented his lady love with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, telling the audience that he’s been in love with Rihanna since he was 22. After the show wrapped, according to Page Six , they had dinner at Carbone in Greenwich Village, then went to an after party at Up&Down nightclub thrown by her label, Roc Nation. Sources told the gossip column that Drake and Rihanna “looking very much like a couple and very in love ,” when they arrived at the party. “They were holding hands and looked very affectionate,” the source added, noting that they stayed in a “private” section of the club, and left together. Other guests at the party included Naomi Campbell, Tracee Ellis Ross, Chance the Rapper, The Chainsmokers, Kevin Spacey and magician David Blaine, who reportedly did magic tricks. While viewers were wondering where Gabby Douglas was at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards , the gold medalist was battling a pretty serious mouth infection. So serious that it sent her back into the hospital on Sunday night. “Gabby is back in the hospital tonight being treated for a seriously infected past mouth injury,” the gymnast’s publicist told People Magazine. “She continues to have deep swelling and adverse reactions to medication.” Prior to that, Douglas Instagram’d a photo of herself in bed, wishing she were with her four teammates, Aly Raisman, Simone Biles, Madison Kocian and Laurie Hernandez , who presented Beyonce with Best Female Video. “Out of the hospital & resting comfortably! #FinalFive so sad I can’t be with u all to present tonite@MTV thank u xoxo #VMAs #myview,” Douglas Instagram’d. When only four of the five Rio 2016 teammates arrived on the red carpet, viewers wondered when Douglas was. “I think she’s feeling a little better, but she’s staying home as a precaution,” Biles told People . “We’re sad she couldn’t be here to enjoy this with us. We miss her!” Douglas has not had it easy during and after this summer’s Olympic games. She didn’t put her hand over her heart when the national anthem play after her team won gold in the all-around competition. Instead, she said, she “stood to attention. Maine Gov. Paul LePage left a profane voicemail for a state lawmaker asking him to “prove that I'm a racist” after accusations to that effect. LePage, a Republican, left the voicemail for Democratic State Rep. Drew Gattine on Thursday, according to the Portland Press Herald. The uncensored audio (below) contains several explicit phrases. A bombastic politician and one who does not mince words, the 67-year-old is a frequent target of criticism and magnet for controversy. Earlier this week, LePage doubled down on comments he has made in the past about the racial background of drug dealers in Maine. He infamously said that “90-plus percent … are black and Hispanic people” in remarks that went viral and caused a media firestorm. Subsequently, Gattine was identified by local media as having called LePage racist, though for his part, Gattine denies having doing so. In any case, LePage let him have it on his voicemail … “Mr. Gattine, this is Gov. Paul Richard LePage,” he says. “I would like to talk to you about your comments about my being a racist, you (expletive).” “I want to talk to you. I want you to prove that I'm a racist. I've spent my life helping black people and you little (expletive), socialist (expletive).” “You … I need you to … just friggin' … I want you to record this and make it public because I am after you. Thank you.” Be careful what you wish for? LePage apologized for the voicemail Friday, but said being labeled a racist is “the absolute worst, most vile thing you can call a person.” “I didn't know Drew Gattine from a hole in the wall until yesterday,” LePage said, and the accusation “made me enormously angry.” “When a TV reporter asked me for my reaction about Gattine calling me a racist … I called Gattine and used the worst word I could think of.” “I apologize for that to the people of Maine, but I make no apology for trying to end the drug epidemic that is ravaging our state.” On Thursday, the governor reportedly took credit for leaving the voicemail, and said he would like to challenge Gattine to a duel. “When a snot-nosed little guy from Westbrook calls me a racist, now I'd like him to come up here because, tell you right now, I wish it were 1825.” “And we would have a duel, that's how angry I am, and I would not put my gun in the air, I guarantee you, I would not be (Alexander) Hamilton.” “I would point it right between his eyes.” “[Gattine] is a snot-nosed little runt and he has not done a damn thing since he's been in this Legislature to help move the state forward.” Friday, LePage walked back the idea of shooting his political rival, saying that “Obviously, it is illegal today; it was simply a metaphor.” “I meant no physical harm to Gattine.” Maine Democratic Party Chairman Phil Bartlett called LePage's remarks a “threat” and said he is “clearly unfit to lead our state.” Interestingly, LePage is an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump, who was slammed after suggesting someone assassinate Hillary Clinton . On being cast on “Love & Hip Hop Hollywood” because he’s gay: “At the time I didn’t feel like that [that I was being exploited], even now I don’t feel like that. I think everything has its time and space in pop culture. Even though it can be lucrative, there are people who say ‘we gotta get a gay guy, we gotta get a black guy, we gotta get a white guy’, but I wasn’t brought on the show for that. I was brought on the show as Hazel’s friend and once they met me and seen me and aesthetically was like ‘wow who’s that guy?’ They said, ‘let’s get some more information.’” On his ex Miles Brock: “I actually just spoke to him, Tyler Perry had a movie screening maybe about a week ago. He was there and we spoke, we actually talked about some stuff. I don’t have any ill will or any gripes. I still hear interviews and there’s a bashing of Milan.
