Just this week, Bachelor in Paradise fans watched Jenna Cooper and Jordan Kimball’s engagement unfold on screen. They were planning a June wedding. Now they’re planning nothing of the sort and Jenna’s planning legal action atter screenshots surfaced showing alleged evidence of her cheating on Jordan . Now, Chris Harrison is personally revealing how much of this intense breakup drama will be televised. On Wednesday, at the 2018 GOOD+ Foundation’s Evening of Comedy + Music Benefit at Carnegie Hall in New York City, Chris Harrison told Entertainment Tonight what fans can expect. “A lot of this stuff is going to be off camera,” Chris reveals. Not everything that happens after the season ends stays off-camera, but this might. “A lot of the conversations will take place,” Chris explains. “And we won’t be shooting it.” “This won’t be for specials,” Chris emphasizes. “It’s just making sure these human beings are OK.” Chris seems has shocked as fans and viewers about Jordan and Jenna’s split. “All I can say is that when I left them on the beach engaged, they seemed to be very much in love,” Chris says. But it’s not like he’s hanging out with them on a daily basis. “The last time I saw them together was on stage at the special that we shot,” Chris admits. Chris says that their love seemed real, admitting: “and you know if she’s faking it, she fooled me too.” Chris says that he has not spoken directly with Jordan or Jenna about these cheating allegations or the ensuing scandal. “I haven’t talked to either one of them,” Chris says. “So I don’t know the validity of any of it.” “I don’t know what has happened since today, because it seems to be a very fluid situation,” Chris adds. Jordan announced that they were breaking up, but as we all know, new facts can surface or hearts can change at any given moment. “But I hope it’s not true,” Chris says. “I truly do.” The text messages came from Reality Steve , who’s a seriously credible guy — but many wonder if his source is as real as they seem. After all, text messages are hilariously easy to fabricate. And no one wants to believe that there was real cheating here. “That would be a pretty terrible thing to do,” Chris says. “Because Jordan’s a very good guy,” “I know Jordan is very much in love with her,” Chris affirms. Chris is uncomfortable with how much of this scandal involves speculation and unknowns, saying: “but then again … I don’t know.” Chris Harrison may say that he doesn’t know what the truth of the matter may be, but Jenna’s post to Instagram was not exaclty ambiguous. She announced that the text messages were fabricated. Though Jordan said that the texts looked like they came from her, we should note that anyone who is familiar with Jenna’s texts could copy her style and change anything they like, including dates and key words. The best forgeries are always the ones that change as little as possible. That said, cheating is a real thing, and even celebrities do it. And it’s absolutely possible to fall in love with two people at once. View Slideshow: Bachelor in Paradise Finale Tarnished By Texting Scandal … But Did Jenna Cooper Really Cheat?
They say that revenge is a dish best served cold. For Kourtney Kardashian, however, it's apparently a dish best served… in a very confusing and harmless manner. Allow us to explain: As previously depicted in THIS CLIP from Sunday's new episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim will attend one of her sister's workout dance classes… … only to sort of ruin the entire thing by not actually participating. “I'm like a notorious non-dancer,” Kim says in the sneak peek linked to above. “Like, it's a thing.” Okay, fine. Cool. Fair enough. But this attitude and this non-action upset Kourtney to the point where she subsequently sets up a prank to get back at her annoying sibling. Except we're not sure how the event featured in this video really serves as a prank . This latest sneak peek gives us a look at Kim taking a stroll with Khloe. But she's then taken aback when a group of people start dancing in The Grove to “Buttons” by the Pussycat Dolls. Oh, yes, it was a flash mob! “What the f-ck is going on?” Kim asks, as the camera pans to Kourtney and Malika Haqq being a part of the dancing mob. ( NOTE : The best part of this clip, by far, is Kim holding an ice cone as a prop throughout. She never takes a bite. Because there's no way Kim Kardashian eats ice cream.) From there, the music ends and the flash mob goes away and Kim enters a store to laugh and embrace Haqq. And that's it. Kourtney laughs at her sister in a confessional, acting as if she really got her good with this prank. But we're simply left to ask and wonder: How the heck was this any sort of vengement prank?!? Kim just stood around and watched a bunch of people dance. You sure nailed her, Kourt!
In August, we learned that Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin aren’t rushing to get married — that they were sure of each other, but waiting until 2019 to actually tie the knot. Fast forward one month, however, and their actions are telling a different story. Justin and Hailey were spotted at the courthouse, and it wasn’t over a traffic ticket. They went to the folks who give out marriage licenses. TMZ reports that Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin were spotted at the NYC Marriage Bureau on Thursday, September 13. Though Hailey and the Biebs were trying to keep things hush-hush, people of course noticed. According to at least one wyewitness, Justin gushed to Hailey: “I can’t wait to marry you, baby.” It was an emotional moment, and Justin was apparently crying and he spoke to his fiancee. Other eyewitness accounts say that Justin and Hailey hoped to keep this special moment as private as possible. According to TMZ ‘s sources who saw Justin and Hailey, Justin expressed gratitude for the discretion of people in the NYC Marriage Bureau. “Thanks for keeping it on the DL,” Justin reportedly said to a court official. Court officials may have professional guidelines, but random other people in the courthouse who are there on their own business do not. Incidentally, one witness referred to a person to whom Justin and Hailey spoke as a “judge,” which would imply that they actually got married right then and there. But the source may have been using the term casually to refer to a court official, or may have misunderstood someone’s role. It happens. According to another witness, Justin and Hailey appeared to make some reference to leaving the country. Is it possible that they changed their plans and wanted to have a destination wedding — possibly a private one? That sounds romantic. Or, more cynically, they may have been headed somewhere (like Dubai) where the local laws are medieval and would not allow them to share a room unless they are married. We have to say, though, that it is difficult to picture these two lovestruck twenty-somethings getting a marriage license early just because it’s practical. So, a month ago, the two had solid plans to not get married in 2018. They were adamant about enjoying their engagement. What happened during the past several weeks to change their tune? Maybe it’s nothing — they could have been making some sort of inquiry. None of the witnesses to whom TMZ spoke said that they actually saw Justin and Hailey with a marriage certificate. But, let’s be real, something of significance happened or Justin wouldn’t have been in tears. Maybe the impetuousness of “youth” (he’s 24) caught up with them and they realized that they just couldn’t wait to call each other husband and wife. A marriage license is not the same thing as having a wedding, so perhaps Justin and Hailey were impatient and decided to get the license now, but to hold off on the wedding. If so, however, they’ve started the clock on their wedding plans. In New York state, a marriage license is only valid for 60 days. You need to have a wedding in that time, or the license expires. Folks, Justin and Hailey visited the Marriage Bureau 110 days before 2019. If they obtained a marriage license, they have just over half of that to get married. That big 2019 wedding could still happen, but it would leave us with questions about what Thursday’s emotional errand was all about. View Slideshow: Justin Bieber: All His Sexual Conquests, RANKED!
G un violence across the nation has reached a human rights crisis level: from the out-of-control situations in Chicago and Baltimore to tragedies like the Parkland, Florida , school shooting and most recently the Dallas cop who killed an unarmed Black man in his own apartment. NewsOne spoke with Philadelphia-based Black Lives Matter (BLM) national organizer and activist Asa Khalif about his grassroots effort to help stem the crisis in Philadelphia, where shootings have increased by 10 percent this year and homicides in southwest Philadelphia have surged by 26 percent . See Also: Heartbreaking: Chicago Mourns Gun Violence Activist As City Sees 21 People Shot Amnesty International released a new report on Wednesday that examined how the U.S. government has allowed gun violence to become a human rights crisis “on a massive scale” and accuses the powers that be of violating international human rights standards. U.S. officials are required to comply with certain global treaties that touch on the right to live free of violence, including the International Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination, the global human rights organization said. But gun violence has disproportionately affected Black communities. African-Americans represented approximately 13 percent of the population in 2016, yet they constituted nearly 60 percent of gun homicides nationwide. Naomi Wadler—the 11-year-old activist who delivered a poignant speech about gun violence at the March for Our Lives demonstration in March—will be honored by the NAACP. https://t.co/ofDM1xm1El pic.twitter.com/1egG1Cei3g — NewsOne (@newsone) July 15, 2018 Khalif said he supported Amnesty International designating gun violence a human rights crisis. Last year, He and other activists started an initiative in Philadelphia last year to reach out to young people in the community. He said they see themselves as uniquely positioned to contribute to a solution through preventing potentially violent situations from getting worse. NewsOne (NO): How is BLM organized to combat gun violence in Philadelphia? Asa Khalif (AK): We have defused and de-escalated at least 25 to 30 incidents last year, and 45 this summer. We know the players because we live in the community. When we get information, word on the street that there will be beef, often through Instagram or Facebook, it’s very easy for us to approach ‘Raheem’ and say, “Can I talk to you? I heard there’s a misunderstanding, could we have a conversation before it gets to a certain level.” A lot of this violence comes from misunderstandings. A lot of times the brothers don’t even want to engage in violence. A lot of it is ego, peer pressure, false pride. And they’re looking for a way out. Intervening helps both parties to save face and walk away without looking like a quote, punk. We are concerned about this issue. We live in the community. The myth is we only show up when there’s a police shooting. We are on the front lines when it comes to gun violence because it affects us. We have loved ones who have been victims. NO: The interventions you described are important, but what’s the bigger solution? AK: Gun violence is a virus in our community. We know the virus; we’ve detected the virus, and we know where that virus is coming from. It’s up to us, organizers and people in the community. We have the cure. We have to come together as people of color to make sure gun violence is not an issue in our community. There’s a church on every block in our community, and those churches go behind safe walls and preach to themselves. It’s time now for ministers and congregations to link up with the activists, and not be afraid of BLM activists who have been deemed militant. As I’ve said when the movie Black Panther was playing, we–the activists, community leaders and mothers and fathers who are standing in our communities–are the superheroes. Black Panther, Wonder Woman, Batman, those are people who don’t exist and are not coming to save our community, and so we have to pick up the torch. In #Philadelphia we #WearOrange , we march and we say #Enough to Gun Violence @MomsDemand pic.twitter.com/aGkcyWXa5R — Jme B GunSafety (@archymomjaime) June 2, 2018 NO: Do you share Amnesty International’s view that the government bears a lot of blame for the gun violence? Aside from the legislative failures toward achieving gun control, has other government policies contributed to the problem? AK: I’ve been extremely critical of the federal government, which has always had a hand in the flow of guns into the community. We have to hold the government and gun dealerships accountable. We need to call on law enforcement, instead of occupying our community and shooting us in the back, to do the job you were sworn to do. If you’re going to rush into our community, make sure the busts you do are the gun dealers, the ones who are making the big dollars, not ‘Raheem’ who sold a gun for 50 bucks. The government is also 99 percent to blame in setting the conditions that make gun violence an issue. We have poverty in our community, unemployment, our schools are not as well-funded as white counterparts. It all gives a sense of hopelessness. When you have those conditions and you have no self-worth, it’s very easy to pick up a gun and shoot someone who looks like you because you don’t value yourself. If you give people hope, you’ll see a turnaround. Give a man a job and you’ll see a drop in crime. Young people need a place to go and a purpose, an alternative to standing on the corner and selling drugs. Khloe Kardashian has no plans on going anywhere any time soon. The mother of one hopes to raise little True for the next 18 years, at minimum. For you never know, that's the fact of life. And you do need to contemplate the worst as a parent. That's the set-up for the clip featured here from this Sunday's new episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. It features a still-pregnant Khloe sitting down with her siblings and talking about the sensitive topic of guardianship. Who will legally look after True if Khloe were to die before her child become a legal adult? “I can’t make anything official until after the baby is born, but I am going to probably have Kim as the legal guardian if, God forbid, something happens,” Khloe says in this sneak peek, adding: “Just because I don’t know my parenting style until I have a baby, but from what I envision my parenting style to be, I do think it will be more like Kim – a lot more stricter.” Yikes , huh? Ouch . As you can tell from this photo, Kourtney isn't exactly thrilled to her Khloe's decision. Kourtney has three kids — son Mason, 8, Reign, 3, and daughter Penelope, 6; while Kim shares daughters North, 5, Chicago, 7 months, and son Saint, 2, with husband Kanye West. The past few episodes of their reality show has chronicled the ongoing feud between Khloe, Kim and Kourtney — and we doubt Khloe's declaration this Sunday will ease any of the tension. “Watching Kimberly be a mom, I really respect her parenting skills – not that I don’t respect Kourtney’s, I relate to how Kim parents more,” says Khlo here. “But at the end of the day, this family is so close and we love each other so much and if anything, God forbid, were to happen, I know my daughter is in the best of hands no matter who her legal guardian is.” Fair enough? Not really. Not to Kourtney. “Guess what? You don’t have to give me an explanation,” responds Kourtney. “I’ve got three kids and I’m busy on my own.” It's hard to blame her for being offended, isn't it? “You’re at capacity,” says Khloe “No, I’m not at capacity,” clarifies Kourtney, adding: “I’m a little bit disappointed that I’m not the guardian, but honestly, you don’t know what your parenting style is until you have kids. “So I think once Khloe has her own daughter and is really a mom, then maybe she will realize that we have more in common than she thinks as far as parenting styles. “You never know! Khloe might switch back to me.” Check out this interesting clip now.
(Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images) Seven NYPD cops will have to answer to the court on Thursday for charges related to a prostitution and gambling ring. According to CBS2 , the officers are accused of providing protection, including info about ongoing investigations, for illegal gambling and prostitution locations in Sunset Park, Brooklyn and Jackson Heights, Queens. The suspects are identified as Sergeants Carlos Cruz, 41; Louis Failla, 49; Cliff Nieves, 37; Officers Steven Nieves, 32; Giancarlo Raspanti, 43; and Detectives Giovanny Acosta-Rojas, 40; and Rene Samaniego, 43. They face charges of promoting prostitution and enterprise corruption. Sources say the Internal Affairs Bureau began investigating in 2015. They were tipped off by another officer. Since then, sources say investigators have obtained thousands of hours of surveillance, including wiretaps of the cops allegedly involved. In a statement, NYPD Commissioner James P. O’Neill said the accused officers “swore an oath and then betrayed it.” He continued, “The people of this Department are rightly held to the highest standard, and should they fail to meet it, the penalty will be swift and severe. I thank Deputy Commissioner Joseph Reznick for the thorough investigation performed by the Internal Affairs Bureau, in partnership with the Queens District Attorney’s Office, in rooting out this illicit activity. His unit initiated this probe and in doing so has sent a clear message: there is no place in the NYPD for criminal or unethical behavior.” More sources say a retired NYPD detective was arrested as a “major player” in the operation. Two more uniformed officers were put on modified desk duty, and their guns and badges were taken away. More than 40 civilians are also said to be wanted for their involvement in the illegal activities. The Queens County District Attorney will lead the prosecution of the case. More info will be revealed in a press conference expected for Thursday afternoon.
