Your favorite “Glee” scene-stealer and all-around gifted comedienne has officially been named this year’s host of the 63rd annual Emmy Awards. Although this will be her first time emceeing the big event, which recognizes the best and brightest working in and on television, Lynch has plenty of Emmy experience. Last year, she participated in a show-stopping, “Glee”-themed opening number and later snagged the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy , for which she gave a memorable and entertaining speech. “I am tickled pink to be hosting the Primetime Emmys on Fox,” Lynch said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to singing, dancing and sporting my finest tracksuit.” “We’re delighted to have Jane Lynch host the Primetime Emmys this year,” said John Shaffner, chairman and CEO, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. “When our host has comedic, dramatic and musical talents — as Jane proved in last year’s opening number — we know it’s going to be fun for us and for the audience at home!” “Jane was my first — and only — choice as the host for this year’s Primetime Emmys, and I am glad she said ‘yes,’ ” said Mark Burnett, executive producer of the Emmys and also of this Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards . “She has incredible comedic timing, and is a charismatic, talented actress whose energy leaps off the screen and stage. I am thrilled and excited to have her as our host.” The 2011 Emmy nominations will be announced July 14, and the awards show will air live Sunday, September 18, on Fox. Jason Sudeikis Likens ‘Twilight Saga’ To ‘Star Wars’

MTV Movie Awards host tells Jason Bateman that Bella and Edward kiss is ‘a big darn deal’ during our ‘Horrible Bosses’ Sneak Peek Week Q&A. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Jason Bateman, Seth Gordon and Jason Sudeikis at MTV’s Sneak Peek Week screening of “Horrible Bosses” Photo: Frank Micelotta/ PictureGroup WEST HOLLYWOOD, California — It all started with an innocent fan question, submitted via Twitter, during the MTV News Sneak Peek Week presentation of the summer comedy “Horrible Bosses.” The crowd at the Pacific Design Center had just finished watching an early screening of the flick and were taking in the live chat with stars Jason Bateman and Jason Sudeikis and director Seth Gordon, when the conversation turned to Sudeikis’ upcoming gig: hosting the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday. “Can the two Jasons top the Bella and Edward kiss from ‘Eclipse’ ?” the tweeter-in-question wanted to know. “What is that?” Bateman, clearly no devotee of the vampire franchise, wanted to know. So in stepped Sudeikis, who has been studying up on the Twi-ins and Twi-outs of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner’s blockbuster series. The “Saturday Night Live” funnyman proceeded to launch into an uproarious rundown of the steamy love triangle at the heart of the “Twilight Saga.” As Sudeikis explained it, Pattinson plays a “handsome vampire kid,” Lautner portrays “this other fella floating around,” and Stewart is “flummoxed — she doesn’t know which way to go.” Hitting on everything from “Star Wars” to masturbation to “Little House on the Prairie,” the cinematic breakdown was both reverent and ridiculous. But any summary can’t quite capture the magic of Sudeikis playing film school prof, so hit play on the video and check it out yourself! “Eclipse,” meanwhile, is up for eight nominations, including two Best Kiss nods for KStew herself, one with Rob and one with Taylor. As Sudeikis put it, “Them smooching is a big darn deal!” Don’t forget to check out the Movie Awards when they air live on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT. As we just announced, Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner will be on hand to present an exclusive clip from “Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ? Kristen Stewart Vs. Herself: Celebs Pick MTV Movie Awards’ Best Kiss

Robert Pattinson or Taylor Lautner? Before Sunday’s show, we ask which smooch should come out on top. By Jocelyn Vena Kristen Stewart Photo: Larry Busacca/ Getty Images Kristen Stewart got to lock lips with both Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” and it seems like all the — cough, cough — hard work paid off: Both smooches are up for Best Kiss at Sunday’s 2011 MTV Movie Awards . We went straight to Stewart’s fellow celebs to ask: Which lip-lock should come out on top? “Vampire Diaries” star Kat Graham knows a thing or two about hot supernatural guys, and she has a very strong opinion about which kiss rules in “Eclipse”: “I love Taylor Lautner,” she gushed. “He could be making out with a hamburger, and I would be like, ‘Best kiss ever!’ ” Olympian Johnny Weir also seems to be a member of Team Jacob. “Taylor Lautner in that movie was, you know, rocking the sex,” he exclaimed, most likely referencing Lautner’s ever-present abs in the franchise. “X-Men: First Class” actress Rose Byrne is leaning toward Team Edward when it comes to the kisses, even calling out Pattinson’s fan-favorite nickname: “I think it will be RPattz.” Elle Fanning, whose sister Dakota stars in the “Twilight” flicks, concurred with Byrne, reasoning that Stewart’s Bella is “marrying Edward, so you sort of have to pick Edward.” “X-Men” hottie Michael Fassbender might not know Edward from Jacob, but he did pick one of the actors over the other. “I’m just going to go with Robert,” he said. Hilary Duff kept it right in the middle with her choice. “You’re really going for all the tough questions, aren’t you?” she teased. “In the first movie, it was better with Edward, and I think [then] it was better with Jacob,” she said. “Was that politically correct?” Stewart’s “Eclipse” kisses are up against Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (“Inception”), Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe (“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1”) and Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis (“Black Swan”). Hosted by Jason Sudeikis, the 20th annual MTV Movie Awards air live this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. Britney Spears ‘Legitimizes’ Pauly D’s DJ Career, ‘Jersey Shore’ Star Says

‘Britney Spears is performing her new album at Rain while I’m DJing. I couldn’t ask for anything more,’ Pauly D says of last Friday’s Vegas gig. By Jocelyn Vena Pauly D Photo: MTV News Shortly after it was announced that Pauly D would be the resident DJ at Rain nightclub at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the “Jersey Shore” star was bestowed with another honor: He was to DJ Britney Spears’ surprise gig in Las Vegas , which was taped for her MTV special “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale,” airing Sunday at 9 p.m. ET. “For me, I love Las Vegas, I love DJing. It’s my heart. I locked down this huge residency, which I always wanted, and now I find out Britney Spears is performing her new album at Rain while I’m DJing. I couldn’t ask for anything more,” Pauly D dished to MTV News last Friday. “I’m at Las Vegas now. What it means to DJ a concert like a Britney Spears concert or something like that, it’s an association with monsters like Britney Spears and it just legitimizes your career. And it’s just fun like being onstage with Britney Spears performing like she’s performing. I love it. I couldn’t ask for more.” Given that Pauly D plays a mix of popular music and more underground house, he admits that he doesn’t have to change his style up too much for a gig with Spears. “I keep up on music. I keep up on current music. I play everything. I’m open format,” he explained. “I play geared to the crowd, so I don’t prep my set. For this I go out there, I kind of wing it. I look at the crowd, I have an idea. I like to play the new stuff that’s hot. I feed off the crowd.” Pauly also explained the rules he has for his craft. “A DJ should not play the artist’s songs at her concert ’cause she has to perform these songs,” he said. “I’m not going to be playing any Britney before she performs; maybe after. I’ll let her perform, let her shine ’cause it’s her night.” The Vegas show is one of many highlights in the “I Am the Femme Fatale” special. Spears gives fans a taste of what it was like making the album, including behind-the-scenes footage of her in the studio with will.i.am and an intimate chat with Sway Calloway in which she opens up about her life and her career. To see what Spears has to say about her new album and watch her as she puts the finishing touches on it, don’t miss the “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale” special, airing Sunday, April 3, at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.
