We've all been there. But hopefully, not at this level. Know the feeling of abject horror when you realize you sent a text to the incorrect person? The people in this gallery can relate … and then some. The worst occasions of texts sent to the wrong people occur when it's regarding something truly personal, not just a harmless stray thought. Or, when we don't even realize that we've just sent the erroneous text message until the unintended recipient brings it to our attention. In these cases, both are the case. Enjoy … 1. Tonight is the Night! Dad won’t be ignoring this, we’re guessing. Sorry Kyle. 2. Friend Zoned It’s hard to get back into the romantic mindset after you eff up like this. 3. WTF Arnie The fact that Arnie was ready and willing to do this at the drop of a hat raises so many questions. 4. Okay, I Deserved That Jeremy owned it after the fact at least? 5. Surprise! At least Joey loves her? 6. Semper Fi Even under the most bizarre circumstances, you gotta salute those who fight for our freedom. View Slideshow
Lady Gaga is in need of your thoughts, prayers and condolences. The singer’s long-time best friend, Sonja Durham, died on Friday after having been diagnosed with stage IV brain cancer. Durham’s husband, Andre, confirmed the sad news yesterday afternoon, saying his wife passed away “peacefully and beautifully” in their home. Durham served for a number of years as Lady Gaga’s assistant and executive director. She played a major role in the singer’s life, both personally and professionally, as their relationship inspired Gaga’s single “Grigio Girls.” This bonus track is featured on the deluxe edition of Joanne, which came out in October of 2016. You should go listen to it if you can. It’s beautiful, with lyrics talking about how Gaga and her friends would get together and share deep cries over Durham. Earlier this year, Durham accompanied Lady Gaga to the Super Bowl for her halftime performance; while Gaga dedicated an acoustic version of “Edge of Glory” to Durham, at Coachella several weeks later. “My friend Sonja is very sick and I love her so much, and if it’s okay with you, I’d like to sing this song for her,” the star told the crowd upon doing so. On Thursday, meanwhile, Gaga posted the above photo on Instagram and wrote the heartfelt message below as a caption. Watching one of my best friends in the world show unfathomable courage, strength, and positivity while battling cancer has really changed my life. Thank you Sonja for inspiring me and all of us everyday with your joy. I love you so much it brings tears to my eyes just to think of all the years we’ve spent together backstage running the show, taking care of each other. You are one of a kind. I’m so proud of you. And you and Andre, your unbreakable beautiful love is what life is all about. You can see it in this photo. Wanted to share this with the world and show them what true beauty looks like. #grigiogirls #sonjadurham @sonjad7777 I love you girl. I love you so much. Lady Gaga, who had previously suffered from breast cancer, referred to Durham as her “guardian angel” in an earlier blog post. Following Sonja’s passing, the hashtah #RIPSonja started to trend on Twitter. Durham had been close friends with Gaga for about eight years. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and in recent months it had spread to her lungs and brain. Of “Grigio Girls,” Gaga told fans in attendance at Coachella in April: ‘We were writing it because we were laying around one night and all the girls had gotten together, but Sonja wasn’t there because sometimes we needed to get together without her, because we didn’t want her to see us cry. “So we formed this pact with each other that, when we needed to, we’d call together the Grigio Girls and cry it out.” May Sonja Durham rest in peace. We send our condolences to her friends, family members and loved ones.
Well… this escalated quickly. On Sunday night, Farrah Abraham donned a Bollywood-inspired outfit to the MTV Movie & TV Awards, drawing criticism from all around the Internet because she appropriated a culture’s religious symbol in order to make a fashion statement. This is what she wore to the event: When asked about the ensemble, the short-tempered Teen Mom said she thought it was “sexy,” “amazing” and that she hoped it would “inspire others to embrace new cultures and have good experiences.” We guess we’ll need to wait to see if that happens. But we didn’t need to wait very long to get Kailyn Lowry’s take on her fellow reality star’s red carpet attire. Approached for comment by The Dirty, Lowry didn’t exactly offer up the most scathing critique of all-time. Still, she made it clear she wasn’t a fan of Abraham’s choice here. “I didn’t see Farrah, but her outfit was cute,” said Lowry, clearly being sarcastic and adding: “It’s not a costume party, but whatever… I’m not sure why it would offend people, [but] she already did the costume thing at the VMA’s last year. It’s old.” Like we said, these don’t really read like fighting words – unless you’re Farrah Abraham. “Was she even invited?” Abraham angrily replied to The Dirty when told of Lowry’s opinion. And then Farrah went right for the jugular. “Her look of being pregnant has been done and is old,” she said of Lowry, who is expecting her third child with her third baby daddy. “Stop getting knocked up by randoms.” Yes, stop getting knocked up by randoms . Amazing. For the record, Lowry is the mother to a seven-year old son that she had with long-time boyfriend Jo Rivera. She’s also the mother to a three-year old son that she shares with ex-husband Javi Marroquin. We’re pretty sure having a child with one’s husband is the opposite of having it with a random . Now, Lowry has finally come out and admitted that her impending son or daughter was made possible via unprotected sex with some dude named Chris Lopez . And, okay, granted, yeah: he’s pretty darn random. He’s so random, in fact, that he’s somehow managed to scarcely have an Internet presence, even in this day and age. Good luck finding any real photos of Chris Lopez. Nevertheless, this is a pretty harsh clapback at Lowry, especially when you consider that she didn’t even say Abraham’s MTV Awards dress was offensive. But it’s also what makes Farrah Abraham… Farrah Abraham. For all of her many, many, many, MANY faults as a human being, Farrah only has one child, an eight-year old girl named Sophia. She’s doesn’t know how to avoid exploiting her daughter at all times , but she has apparently learned how to use a condom. So this is one soapbox on which Farrah can comfortably stand, and on which many other Teen Mom cast members can’t say very much in response. Will Lowry fire back at Abraham? Will this feud escalate to even more mean-spirited and personal levels? Probably not. Lowry, after all, has a couple other fires to put out first, considering her previous two baby daddies both just called her out for spending time with a mystery man while pregnant. We hate to agree with anything Farrah Abraham says, but she’s not entirely wrong here: Lowry would be better served in life if she stopped getting knocked up. The late NFL star and convicted killer Aaron Hernandez was granted an abatement on his conviction for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd. What does that mean? It means the former New England Patriots star, who took his own life last month in prison, is now considered not guilty in the eyes of the law. Bristol County (Mass.) Judge Susan Garsh, who presided over the original trial, ruled in favor of the star’s estate, citing a bizarre law. Massachusetts law states that if a defendant dies while a conviction is still in the process of appeal, then the previous verdict is vacated. Hernandez committed suicide late last month while serving a sentence of life without parole for the murder of Lloyd. He was just 27. “Abatement is the law in this Commonwealth and this court is required to follow that precedent,” Garsh said. “The Court has no other choice.” The state is expected to appeal the controversial decision, which will most likely wind up in the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. In other words, the legal battle is just beginning. Hernandez’s attorney, John Thompson, argued that neither his client’s cause of death nor any assumed motives should apply to the law. He also noted there was no precedent in any other ruling on the issue that called for abatement not to be granted in a similar situation. “[The original Lloyd ruling] is not a final conviction,” Thompson said, even though a jury convicted Hernandez of murder. “And that’s what matters.” Prosecutor Patrick Bomberg argued otherwise. Bomberg argued that Hernandez chose to die, thus making a conscious decision to forfeit his appeal as a means of being cleared. This is supported by the suicide note to Shayanna Jenkins that basically says as much, and was never, he says, the intent of the law. According to a state police report, Hernandez even mentioned to an unnamed fellow inmate that he was aware of the abatement law. In one of his suicide notes, he allegedly wrote “YOURE RICH” to Jenkins (above), his fiancee and the father of his four-year-old daughter. “The defendant should not be able to accomplish in death what he could not accomplish in life,” Bomberg said of Hernandez’s efforts. At stake is not just Hernandez’s criminal record, which is a moot point now, but his potential monetary payouts from the NFL franchise. The Patriots may no longer be able to withhold money owed on his contract due to a conviction for murder, as they have been doing. “We are arguing there is a motive to [commit suicide],” Bomberg said, noting the financial benefits; Garsh summarily dismissed that point. “This court cannot know why Hernandez took his life,” Garsh said, citing other possible motives, including the athlete’s increased spirituality. She also noted that other inmates heard via a Boston radio show that Hernandez might be gay or bisexual and trying to hide that. Also complicating matters is that if the Hernandez estate does get paid, the family of Odin Lloyd still has a wrongful death civil suit pending. They, in turn, may be able to access any or all money the Hernandez estate gets, if it comes to that (the Patriots are expected to fight this). The families of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado, whom Hernandez was acquitted of murdering in 2012, may also be suing his estate. A civil suit requires a lower standard of proof than a conviction in criminal court (see O.J. Simpson’s $33 million judgment, for example). Hernandez estate is currently valued at $0.00. Lloyd’s mother and sister led a large group at the hearing of supporters for Lloyd, a former semi-pro football player and Boston landscaper. That group included Shaneah Jenkins, Lloyd’s former girlfriend and the sister of Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez, who was not present. The Lloyd supporters wept at the ruling. After a lengthy trial, a Bristol County jury ruled in 2015 that Hernandez shot Lloyd six times in an industrial park less than a mile from his home. The Bristol, Conn., native won a national title at the University of Florida and played three seasons with the Patriots, appearing in one Super Bowl. Sad news out of the sports world today, as former NFL cornerback Leonard Myers has passed away at the age of 38. Reports of Myers’ death were confirmed by TMZ just moments ago. Myers played his rookie season with the New England Patriots in 2001, the year that a young Tom Brady led the team to a Super Bowl victory over the St. Louis Rams. Myers went on to play for the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, and Detroit Lions, but he would never again experience the sort of on-field success he enjoyed in that first year in New England. Myers experienced a string of bad luck after leaving football in 2005, following a brief sojourn in the CFL. That same year, he made headlines for selling his Super Bowl ring on eBay for $32,600. Myers had reportedly been battling cancer for several years at the time of his death. Before being drafter by the Patriots, Myers made a name for himself at the Univesrity of Miami as the team’s standout defensive back. A three-year starter for the Canes, Myers aided in the program’s historic rebound. The team went 5-6 his freshman year and 11-1 his senior year. Sadly, Myers would not experience the same level of success in the pros. In interviews, he often expressed his frustration with the Patriots coaching staff, who decided at the last minute to deactivate him prior to Super Bowl XXXVI. Myers says he was told he would start in the game, and it wasn’t until pregame warm-ups that Bill Belichick and company decided to remove him from the roster in favor of activating another offensive lineman. Those who knew Myers best say his disappointment at not realizing his boyhood dream of being able to take the field at the Super Bowl lingered for the rest of his days. Most recently, Myers worked as he wide receivers coach at New Mexico Highlands University in 2015. Today, both Patriots and Hurricanes football fans are mourning Myers on social media. Though he may not have distinguished himself in the highly competitive world of the NFL, fans and teammates say his spirit and cn-do attitude made him a player they’ll never forget.
