Excerpt from:

The second half in America has apparently begun. Chrysler is rolling out four new TV commercials from Wieden + Kennedy this weekend that extend the theme—introduced with the “It’s Halftime in America” spot on the Super Bowl—of battling adversity in bleak economic times. Clint Eastwood makes way here for ordinary Americans—proud, hardworking, always getting up after being knocked down—in the hardboiled… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : adfreak Discovery Date : 30/03/2012 14:02 Number of articles : 2

Katy Perry’s Best ‘MTV First’ Moments … So Far!

Singer will premiere ‘Part of Me’ video on Wednesday, March 21, at 7:23 p.m. ET on MTV. By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry Photo: MTV News Katy Perry will sit down with MTV News on Wednesday, March 21, to premiere her emotional, feisty clip for “Part of Me” during “MTV First: Katy Perry.” The premiere takes place at 7:23 p.m. ET on MTV, and it’s followed by a 30-minute chat with MTV News’ very own James Montgomery, airing live on MTV.com. The singer, however, isn’t a “First” newbie. Perry sat down with Sway Calloway in March 2011 to premiere the Floria Sigismondi-directed “E.T.” video, and afterward she opened up about the spacey clip. She later won the Best Collaboration VMA with Kanye West for the video. So before she sits down with MTV News for her latest “First,” let’s reflect on the best trivia we learned from her candid first one. How did Katy end up recording the super-trippy “E.T.”? “I’ll tell you, it’s funny … this song, I remember writing with Max Martin and Dr. Luke, and there’s this producer they wrote with, named Ammo, and they were just showing me different samples of songs or tracks or beats, and they accidentally pulled up this beat, and it was for Three 6 Mafia,” Perry said about the song, which is about falling in love with an alien. “I heard it and I always knew I wanted to write this futuristic, alienistic song, and they pulled it up and I was like, ‘Wait, I can wrap my head around this. I know this seems like a long shot, but I think I have the perfect material to put on top of this sound.’ And I did, and it really worked out perfectly.” How did she end up looking like a sexy alien creature in the video? “It was, like, five and six hours, each makeup look,” Perry said. “It was hard for me! It was really a patience thing for me on this video. But, you know, it’s like when you’re doing a film. Sometimes you have to do prosthetics, and you have to get really old or turn into an animal or a monster — and that’s kind of what this process was.” Would Katy ever travel to space? “I’m so into extraterrestrial stuff. … It’s very difficult for me to look up into the sky in the middle of the night and not think that our planet is one of … a bajillion. It’s really, really small,” she said, later sharing that she had plans to travel to space with her then-hubby Russell Brand. Well, with the singer always saying and doing the unexpected, Katy Cats should expect even more memorable moments this time around. “Part of Me” is the lead single off of her March 27 album release, Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, which she will also talk about, as well as her forthcoming concert movie, “Katy Perry: Part of Me.” Perry’s fans can get in on the action of her “MTV First” by submitting video or text questions via Twitter (using @MTVNews / hashtag #MTVFirst or #KatyQ). Before the premiere of “Part of Me,” a tease of the clip will air on “VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live” on March 21 at 10 a.m. ET/PT, giving fans a taste of what they can expect from Katy in the video. In the super-fast teaser, Perry is channeling her inner Marine. A few shots of guns and night vision preview boot camp for the singer. The sneak peek closes on Perry’s face painted in camouflage makeup. She shot the video on a military base in California in February. Immediately following the premiere of “Part of Me” on MTV, the video for the deeply emotional single will air on Logo, debut on MTV.com, VH1.com and LOGOtv.com, and go into rotation on mtvU, MTV Hits and AMTV the following morning. Additionally, the video will debut on Saturday, March 24, at 9 a.m. ET/PT during VH1’s “Top 20 Countdown” and on TeenNick’s “Obsess This” music block at 7 a.m. ET and Sunday, March 25, at 8:30 a.m. ET. Welcome Back: CNN Contributor Roland Martin Is Back From Suspension After Homophobic Superbowl Tweet Fiasco

What’s a lil’ homophobia between friends? SMH Atlanta-based CNN has lifted its month-long suspension of analyst Roland Martin, who had ruffled feathers last month with Super Bowl tweets construed by some as anti-gay. The network told staff Monday on a conference call, according to FishbowlDC on TVNewser. During the Super Bowl, Martin Tweeted: “If a dude at your Super Bowl party is hyped about David Beckham’s H&M underwear ad,” he wrote, “smack the ish out of him!” Martin later said he is not a fan of soccer. “I was not referring to sexuality directly or indirectly regarding the David Beckham ad, and I’m sorry folks took it otherwise.” But CNN suspended him anyway, at the time releasing a statement: “Language that demeans is inconsistent with the values and culture of our organization, and is not tolerated.” The 43-year-old columnist, commentator and author has been a regular contributor to CNN since 2007. Wonder if the folks from GLAAD are gonna run up on Roland like PETA and douse him with rainbow-colored paint? Source More On Bossip! Super Tuesday Isn’t All About Voting At Ohio State

But MTV News did find one bachelor pad tuned in to the primary. By Andrew Jenks Andrew Jenks at Ohio State University Photo: MTV News COLUMBUS, Ohio — After spending the morning not finding many young people heading to vote (maybe they were waiting for later), I took to the streets to find out what people were up to on Super Tuesday in the most scrutinized swing state in the 2012 election . “What are you doing today?” I asked young people on the Ohio State University campus on a day when their state was offering up the second-biggest delegate prize of all 10 Super Tuesday contests. But, as an experiment, I didn’t bring up the primary, because I wanted to see if they would. Victoria Aeling: “I plan on painting.” Shane Wiegerig: “Volunteering.” Zach Gray: “Class and going to the bank.” Clearly, some had no plans. Many admitted they had no idea today was the day that could turn the tide in the long, bitter scramble to finally find a solid GOP front-runner to take on President Obama in November. But it wasn’t long before I landed at an all-guys apartment, which they referred to as their “trashed pad.” There was a beat-up pool table, dirty kitchen and holes in the wall. You would think this was strictly “Animal House,” but they were watching CNN and, yes, following Super Tuesday results. I quickly realized there weren’t any generalizations to be made in this crash pad. Joe Doll was a simple guy. He shrugged his shoulders. “If they are a cool guy and they are realistic about things then I’ll vote for them,” he said of GOP hopefuls such as Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum. “People don’t see the candidates as serious, so they aren’t taking it serious.” Brian Bode spoke with conviction. “I am voting, but I don’t think it will make a difference, because our Congress is controlled by lobbyists,” he said. He wasn’t happy, and it was easy to tell. If Libertarian pot-stirrer Ron Paul wasn’t in the running, Brian wasn’t planning on voting. Then there was the incredibly outspoken Mark Jepsen. “I went to rivalry class today,” he said. OK, fair enough, I thought. Guy has a hobby, maybe doesn’t care for — wait, he continued … “I registered to vote … not far away from here. Not sure if I am going to do it. … Probably will work out later. … Other than that, not too much. Maybe see a movie, may go out and drink. I think of politics as poli-tricks.” In Ohio, it was clear that everyone I spoke to looks at government in a very different way. I can see that this certainly is a swing state. Some have no idea it’s Super Tuesday, others have been waiting for this day for a long time, and then there are the ones who feel so totally disconnected from the current political discourse that they won’t even bother. Whoever ends up winning the nomination certainly has work cut out for them. MTV has Super Tuesday covered, with reporters on the scene in Georgia, Ohio and Massachusetts!
