You A Damn Lie: New Poll Shows Faux News Credibility Is At An All Time Low Among Their Viewers!

Surprise, surprise… Poll Shows That Viewers Distrust Fox News More Than Ever Via Huffington Post Fox News’ credibility has fallen 9 percent since three years ago, according to new Public Policy Polling (PPP) results released on Wednesday. The annual poll asks participants to rate their trust in multiple networks including Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, PBS, Comedy Central, ABC News, CBS News and NBC News. According to PPP’s press release: Just like its actual ratings, Fox News has hit a record low in the four years that we’ve been doing this poll. 41% of voters trust it to 46% who do not. To put those numbers into some perspective the first time we did this poll, in 2010, 49% of voters trusted it to 37% who did not. Just like last year, researchers also found that Fox News is both the least trusted and most trusted network when compared to the other networks in the survey. Thirty-four percent said they trust Fox News the most, while 39 percent said they trust it the least. Other news outlets are not entirely better off. Thirty-five percent of respondents said they trust MSNBC, while 44 percent said they do not. When it comes to CNN, 38 percent of voters said they trust the network, but 43 percent said they trust the cable network the least. PBS is the only outlet that respondents trust more than distrust, with 52 percent of voters saying they trust the network, and 29 percent saying they do not. NRA Press Conference: Group Calls For Armed Police in Every School

Having gone dark online for the past week, the National Rifle Association held a press conference today for the first time since last Friday’s Connecticut shooting. The NRA condemned both the violence and those seeking to use it for political gain, while proposing a solution quite different than many in America have sought. NRA President David Keene and Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre both spoke this morning on behalf of the organization’s four million members. LaPierre began with condolences to the people of Newtown, Conn., who have “suffered such an incomprehensible loss as a result of this unspeakable crime.” “While some have tried to exploit tragedy for political gain, we have remained respectably silent. Now, we must speak for the safety of our nation’s children,” he added. And speak he did. What did the NRA propose? Here’s the main takeaway … “For all the noise and anger directed at us over the past week, no one, nobody has addressed the most important, pressing and immediate question we face.” “How do we protect our children right now, starting today, in a way that we know works?” “The only way to answer that question is to face the truth. Politicians pass laws for gun free school zones, they issue press releases bragging about them.” “They post signs advertising them. In doing so, they tell every insane killer in America that schools are the safest place to inflict maximum mayhem with minimum risk.” “How have our nation’s priorities gotten so far out of order. Think about it?” “We care about our money, so we protect our banks with armed guards. Airports, office buildings, power plants, court houses, even sports stadiums are all protected by armed security.” “We care about our president, so we protect him with armed Secret Service agents. Members of Congress work in offices surrounded by Capitol Police officers.” “Yet, when it comes to our most beloved, innocent, and vulnerable members of the American family, our children, we as a society leave them every day utterly defenseless.” “The monsters and the predators of the world know it, and exploit it.” “The only way – the only way to stop a monster from killing our kids is to be personally involved and invested in a plan of absolute protection.” “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.” “I call on Congress today, to act immediately to appropriate whatever is necessary to put armed police officers in every single school in this nation.” Obviously, those on the other side of the gun control debate will lose their mind at the notion that MORE guns in schools will somehow prevent violence. MSNBC’s Christopher Hayes said moments ago in response that “good guys with guns vs. bad guys with guns is the moral cosmology of a small child.” That it may be, but is there a better solution? If so, what? Will an assault weapons ban or any other component of the Obama administration’s effort to curb gun violence in the U.S. actually be effective? Historically, at least, the American public has been bitterly divided. Where do you stand on all this? Tell us in the survey below: Should there be more restrictive gun control laws?   YES. Fewer guns, fewer tragedies! NO. It’s unconstitutional and won’t stop anything! View Poll »

F*ck A Politician: Prominent Senator “Accidentally” Kills Secretary With Machine Gun While Waiting For Food At A Restaurant

What the hell !?! That is on helluva accident. Police in Thailand say that they will charge a member of the Thai parliament with causing death by negligence for accidentally shooting his secretary dead with a sub-machine gun. Senator Boonsong Kowawisarat reportedly had in his possession a loaded 9mm Uzi submachine gun, though it is unclear why. According to police, the shooting took place inside a restaurant in the northern province of Phrae. The 55-year-old politician drew his weapon while he and his secretary, 46-year-old Chanakarn Detkard, were waiting to be served. The Uzi suddenly went off, and a bullet struck Chanakarn in her stomach. She was rushed to the hospital by the restaurant owner while Boonsong remained behind in shock. Due to his parliamentary privilege, the Senator has yet to be charged, but police expect he will ultimately be tried for death by negligence. If convicted, Boonsong faces as many as 10 years behind bars. Something ain’t clean in the water. He needs to be charged with murder if not at least carrying that type of weapon in public place. Did he have a license, why does he need to carry this type of weapon? Too many questions not being answered. Source

Kim Kardashian: Underwater! In a Bikini! Drinking Soda!

Man. That was close. We almost went 24 hours without a Kim Kardashian bikini photo going up on Twitter. Fortunately – thank goodness! – the busty reality star came through yesterday, following up her recent rash of bathing suit-based photos with this sort of artistic underwater shot: “Swim good,” Kardashian included as a caption, either making a major grammatical mistake or doing her best impression of a cave woman. She later added another image to her Instagram account, this one just BEGGING for readers to add their very own caption. Try to keep it clean and have at it now:

Great things man. Great things for music, period.” Does the track live up to that billing? Tell us in the survey below: What do you think of Aaliyah’s new song with Drake?

Bully Daily: Does the MPAA Really Have a Secret F-Word Study?

While the latest chapter in the rapidly expanding mythology of Harvey Weinstein involves the mogul shooting down a pitch from President Obama (“I sent him an e-mail back saying he was the most overqualified book scout I’ve ever had”), I remain preoccupied with the saga surrounding Bully , the Weinstein Company doc still embroiled in a battle with the MPAA ratings board to overturn its R for strong language. The publicity clamor continued Wednesday with a young bully victim dropping off a petition with a reported 200,000 signatures to MPAA HQ and Ellen Degeneres discussing the “controversy” on her show. But it’s what quietly came the day before that seems the most intriguing. In an interview published Tuesday, Harvey confided to his LAT pal Patrick Goldstein that Bully ‘s ratings appeal — which the Weinsteins say they lost by one vote — was itself the victim of a mystery MPAA study on language in films. And what a study! These idiots make Harvey look like Clarence Darrow: “After the language in King’s Speech became a big issue, we did a survey to see if parents wanted us to overlook the language,” [MPAA ratings board chair Joan] Graves told me. “And what we discovered was that, overwhelmingly, parents said they wanted to know what kind of language there was in the film. We asked specifically about the F-word, which clearly bothers a large number of people. That’s just how they feel. Language matters.” According to Weinstein, Graves brought up the still-unreleased survey as an argument against “Bully” in his appeal hearing. “It was like a scene out of ‘Perry Mason,’” Weinstein recalled. “The news of the survey came out of nowhere. Joan summarized it in our hearing and it really hurt us. We lost our appeal by one vote and I think the survey cost us that vote.” Graves told me she would eventually make the survey public but wouldn’t commit to a specific timetable. Weinstein argues that there’s no time like the present. “If it says what Joan says it does, she should release it,” he said. “If it makes a strong point, maybe we could learn from it. But I’d like to see the scientific evidence myself.” I love it — this idea of the MPAA drawing up some Middle American focus group of parents and asking what alarms them most about contemporary movies. And that all these parents yelped, “It’s the language! All those F-words in the King’s Speech ! What about the children?” before sobbing into the survey-taker’s cardigan. Because “that’s just how they feel.” No wonder Graves won’t release the study: It’s trapped in her lower intestine with the rest of her shit. Anyway, if giving it a PG-13 means that none of us ever have to hear about Bully ‘s ratings imbroglio again, then fine. Do it. Who cares? Harvey’s 60th birthday is coming up in a couple weeks. I want Joan Graves to jump out of a huge cake clutching a big PG-13. Maybe those 200,000 kids can sign a card next. And Obama can clasp a Medal of Freedom around his neck to go with the French Legion of Honor designation , commemorating everything Harvey has done for those ravaged by the tsunami of caprice and illegitimacy known as the MPAA ratings process. Or whatever. Let’s put this tragedy behind us. We’ve got a P.T. Anderson movie to get to. [ LAT ]

Hey Big Spender: Studies Show That The Average American Will Spend $126 On Valentines Day, Will You Be One Of Them???

J.Lo said “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” sheeeeeeeeeeit we can’t tell… The visual assault happens pretty quickly after stores clear out their winter holiday displays. It starts with a few standard candy bars discreetly forming into heart shapes, and then the contagion spreads. By February 1, your favorite retailer is hemorrhaging pink and red. The signs all proclaim “Happy Valentine’s Day!” Subtext: “Buy lots of our stuff! It’s the same stuff as before, but a different color. You know, to prove your love!” This is out of control. According to the National Retail Federation, the average American will spend $126.03 on Valentine’s Day this year. That’s the highest amount since the survey started ten years ago. Those numbers are enough to give my frugal heart a coronary. I don’t do Valentine’s Day. I’m not anti-love and I’m not anti-gift, but I just can’t participate on principle. Call me a Valentine’s Day Grinch, but I don’t think I’m just being contrarian here. I don’t see a lot of equality in this love-inspired holiday. The NRF survey found that men spend nearly twice as much as women on Valentine’s Day. Informal polling of my male colleagues indicated an even wider spending gap. It was also implied by my co-workers that they think women expect gifts and that the dollar amount can matter. It’s hard to support a holiday that may make men feel inadequate and women seem materialistic, not to mention one that marginalizes all those single Americans. Source $126 seems like a bit much you say? Perhaps for some ladies it’s not enough. Let’s take a look at the stereotypical things that this money is spent on. Maybe it will help some of you fellas save a buck or two and be a lil more creative with how you tell your significant other that you love them.
