Hmmm… Whitney Houston might wanna claim she was drunk in this case. According to multiple sources, the troubled singer almost got kicked off a Delta flight in Atlanta yesterday because she wouldn’t buckle her seatbelt. Really. She just refused to do so. After being warned that she’d be removed unless she followed orders, a crew member actually had to come over and fasten Whitney’s safety restraint for her, as an insider tells TMZ Houston “overreacted a little bit after missing an earlier flight but she’s still 100% sober and was on the way to Detroit for her first day of shooting a new movie.” The artist spent 30 days in rehab earlier this summer. THG has no problem with cats in general, but three things came to mind after watching this video of a Russian man and his many, many companions: How do you even walk around/sleep/stay sane with that many? Just give them food already and stop torturing them, yeesh. People are weird. Nice bulge, but put on some pants, man. The sheer number of eyes glaring at the camera makes one think a horror film could begin at any moment. Check out the video and vote in our survey below … Crazy Cats Await Food All these cats are …

The headline above is, admittedly, a bit misleading. Ricki Lake suffered a cut and a nasty bruise on her shin Thursday while rehearsing for the new season of Dancing with the Stars with partner Derek Hough. She’s not out of the competition by any means, but she did Tweet a photo of the wound, so … here we are. Check out the season’s first battle scar: Lake, who said upon being cast that she was terrified to participate in the ABC show, is considered one of the favorites going in … or at least was. Who knows if this will throw her off her game. An ambulance was called, but Lake downplayed the situation, Tweeting: “Not sure how my bruise turned into a medic showing up? I’m fine!! :)” Later, she Tweeted at former DWTS star Kirstie Alley, who was a hit last season: “I’ve got my work cut out for me. Channeling ya’ mama. xo”. Who will win Dancing With the Stars , which begins September 19? Lake? Chaz Bono ? Kristin Cavallari? Vote in our survey after the jump …
Not that we’re surprised, but those folks not F’in with us at ALL! The hope that the Arab world had not long ago put in the United States and President Obama has all but evaporated. Two and a half years after Obama came to office, raising expectations for change among many in the Arab world, favorable ratings of the United States have plummeted in the Middle East, according to a new poll conducted by Zogby International for the Arab American Institute Foundation. In most countries surveyed, favorable attitudes toward the United States dropped to levels lower than they were during the last year of the Bush administration. The killing of Osama bin Laden also worsened attitudes toward the United States. In Saudi Arabia, for instance, 30 percent of respondents said they had a favorable view of the United States (compared with 41 percent in 2009), while roughly 5 percent said the same in Egypt (compared with 30 percent in 2009). “The very high expectations that were created in 2009 – there’s been a letdown since then,” said James Zogby, the president and founder of the Arab American Institute, of which the foundation is an affiliate. Fewer than 10 percent of respondents described themselves as having a favorable view of Obama. The president’s ratings were the lowest on “the Palestinian issue” and “engagement with the Muslim world,” as the categories were described in the survey. To his credit the man conducting the poll, James Zogby, had this to say about the POTUS: “He didn’t get a magic wand when he took the oath office,” Zogby said. “They handed him a shovel to get out of a deep hole.” Ok so we’re not at the top of the Arab nations’ “most favorite” list. All we’re saying is, don’t start none, won’t be none… Source
A week ago, Kirstie Alley fell to the floor, only to make a full recovery on Dancing With the Stars. Unfortunately, she suffered another mishap last night. This time, it was a footwear malfunction. Kirstie and Maksim Chmerkovskiy had to fight through more adversity as Alley’s left shoe fell off in mid-waltz. Just like the previous week, they recovered well enough to earn a respectable score – 22 out of 30 – plus sympathy and respect from fans and judges. Kirstie Alley Loses Shoe on Dancing With the Stars “You didn’t miss a beat,” said Carrie Ann Inaba. Bruno Tonioli agreed, while Len Goodman was less impressed, pointing out the need for improvement. Still, we’d be surprised if Kirstie and Maks were in jeopardy after a second straight week of bouncing back strongly from a somewhat freakish setback. Another gal who should be safe? Disney starlet Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas, whose Viennese waltz earned them the top score of the night at 26. Watch it, and check out the full scoreboard, after the jump … Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas – DWTS Week 4 That put them just ahead of the Hines Ward and Kym Johnson and Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff. Both of those couples notched scores of 25. Len grumbled about Chelsea’s unorthodox choreography, but technically, the judges could not deny that Kane’s was the best dance of the night. At the bottom of the heap and definitely at risk of elimination tonight are Kendra Wilkinson and Louis van Amstel, who bombed with an 18. Here’s last night’s scoreboard … Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas: 26 Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff: 25 Hines Ward and Kym Johnson: 25 Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke: 23 Petra Nemcova and Dmitry Chaplin: 23 Romeo and Chelsie Hightower: 23 Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: 22 Sugar Ray Leonard and Anna Trebunskya: 21 Kendra Wilkinson and Louis Van Amstel: 18 Who do you think is going home this evening? Does Kendra have the fan support to overcome that lack of score? It will be interesting to see. After four weeks and two eliminations (three tonight), who do you think will win Dancing With the Stars? Vote in our survey:
Japan was rattled by a magnitude-7.1 aftershock Thursday night nearly a month after a devastating earthquake and tsunami flattened the northeastern coast. The strongest aftershock since the day of the magnitude-9.0 megaquake was a fresh blow to victims of that March 11 quake and subsequent tsunami that killed some 25,000 people, tore apart hundreds of thousands of homes and has sparked an ongoing crisis at a nuclear power plant. Damage and injuries from the aftershock were not immediately clear. The Japan meteorological agency briefly issued another tsunami warning Thursday night, but later canceled it. Complete coverage: Disaster in Japan Officials at the tsunami-ravaged Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant said there was no immediate sign of new problems caused by the aftershock. Japan’s nuclear safety agency says workers there have retreated to a quake-resistant shelter in the complex. No one there was injured. However, at the Onawaga power plant in Miyagi prefecture, two to three power lines went down, leaving the facility reliant on one remaining power line to service the cooling operations, a company official said. Officials say Thursday’s aftershock hit 30 miles under the water and off the coast of Miyagi prefecture. The quake that preceded last month’s tsunami was a 9.0-magnitude. It was originally reported to be a magnitude-7.4, but the U.S. Geological Survey in Golden, Colo., later downgraded the quake to 7.1. Paul Caruso, a geophysicist at USGS, said it struck at about the same location and depth as last month’s hug quake. It’s the strongest of the more than 1,000 aftershocks that have been felt since, except for a 7.9 aftershock that day. Buildings as far away as Tokyo shook for about a minute. Source
