Ho Sit Down: Detroit Lions’ Bad Boy Ndamukong Suh Suspended 2 Games For Stomping On A Player Thanksgiving Day!

He bought this one, hope he kept his receipt… Ndamukong Suh(notes), the Detroit Lions defensive leader who was ejected from the team’s Thanksgiving game for stomping on the shoulder of a defenseless opponent, was suspended for two games without pay by the NFL on Tuesday. Should he begin serving the suspension immediately, Suh would miss a road game against the New Orleans Saints and a home game versus the Minnesota Vikings. Jay Glazer reports Suh will not have to attend anger management courses as part of the suspension. He is expected to be fined an additional $50,000 by the Lions for being ejected from a game. As Yahoo! Sports’ Dan Wetzel notes, Suh’s absence shouldn’t have too much effect on the team’s playoff chances should he choose to begin serving the suspension this week. The first game against the Saints was already penciled in as a loss, with or without Suh. The Vikings game should be an easy win even if Suh isn’t on the field. It’s the Dec. 18 game in Oakland, the Christmas Eve game against the Chargers and the Week 17 game against a Packers team that may be playing for an undefeated season or could be resting starters for the playoffs that will decide Detroit’s playoff chances. That’s when the team needs him on the field. The two-game suspension fits in line with expectations and is the proper ban for Suh’s dirty maneuvers. Pushing the helmet and stepping on the arm of Evan Dietrich-Smith(notes) wasn’t as egregious as Albert Haynesworth(notes) stepping on the head of Andre Gurode(notes), a move which earned Haynesworth a five-game suspension in 2006. But given Suh’s past fines ($42,500 in his young career) and lawless on-field attitude, it sends the proper message. Much was made of Suh’s comments after the game in which he claimed he was misunderstood, his subsequent retreat from that stance and the call he made three days after the incident to Roger Goodell. I doubt they played as much a role in the suspension as some believe. This isn’t the NBA, where contrition can lead to leniency and defiance to long suspensions (right, Gilbert Arenas?). Goodell sanctions players, coaches and owners for the deeds they do, not what they say about them. Suh deserved his two games and should be thankful its all he got. Do you think that this suspension fair or to harsh?? Source More On Bossip! Rihanna Tops Lady Gaga In Facebook Fans

Rihanna has around 40,000 more admirers than Gaga on the social-networking site. By Gil Kaufman Rihanna Photo: Vallery Jean/ FilmMagic We talk a lot around here about all the records Lady Gaga is breaking, but as of Friday (July 15), there was one title that even Gaga’s ferocious Little Monsters couldn’t help her win: Queen of Facebook. Though Mother Monster has an impressive 40,575,791 Facebook fans at press time, she was just pushed down to #2 in the bid to be the most popular woman on Facebook by Rihanna , who slipped into the lead with 40,616,457 fans , or around 40,000 more Facebook admirers than Gaga. The passing of the torch was noted by Facebook’s marketing director Randi Zuckerberg, who tweeted on Thursday, “Sorry, Gaga! As of today, Rihanna has passed Lady Gaga as the #1 most popular woman on Facebook.” Of course Gaga still rules the roost on Twitter (with 11.6 million followers, she bests Rihanna, who is down at #13 in Twitter followers), where she was the first person to surpass the 10 million mark. And that’s just one of the many records she’s smashed on her way to the top . She can also breathe easier now that her personal YouTube channel has been restored after going offline earlier this week thanks to a copyright-violation issues. A YouTube spokesperson told MTV News that the takedown order was given after Gaga had accumulated an unspecified amount of copyright claims, which results in an automatic suspension of an account. The clip that appeared to trigger the suspension involved unauthorized posting of a recent performance from Japan involving the popular boy band SMAP, who appeared in a medley of Gaga tunes on a TV broadcast. Judge Orders Conrad Murray to Stand Trial in Death of Michael Jackson, Suspends Doctor’s License

Dr. Conrad Murray will be tried in the death of Michael Jackson. Judge Michael Pastor said sufficient evidence was presented at the preliminary hearing. While completely expected, this marks a significant development, as the case against Murray on involuntary manslaughter charges proved compelling. Deputy D.A. David Walgren told the judge in his closing argument that, “It was not Michael Jackson’s time to go” and that Conrad Murray is responsible. As expected, Dr. Murray will stand trial for MJ’s demise . “Michael Jackson is not here today because of the negligence and reckless acts of Dr. Murray,” said Walgren of the defendant, who sat stone-faced. Walgren said Murray cared more about hiding evidence than helping MJ. Judge Pastor’s ruling followed a six-day preliminary hearing in which more than 20 witnesses were called. Murray’s medical license was also suspended. Murray’s lawyer, Ed Chernoff, tells TMZ , “We are disappointed but not surprised. We knew we would be in trial and that’s where we’re going to end up.” Chernoff’s defense theory, that Michael Jackson killed himself , has not fully been extrapolated upon, but he did put out feelers last week and this week. The D.A. appears ready for it, however, calling a doctor who says that even if Jackson administered the fatal dose, it’s still homicide and Murray’s fault. Judge Michael Pastor ordered the suspension as a condition to Dr. Murray’s bail. The Medical Board of California asked for the suspension repeatedly. Dr. Murray has 24 hours to notify the medical boards in Texas and Nevada, where he was licensed to practice up until now, of Judge Pastor’s decision. Murray’s team says he needs to work to afford counsel, and believes the move is a power play designed to take away his right to defend himself. Not likely, as the evidence against him suggests gross mistreatment. It also wasn’t revoked, but suspended. If he were acquitted, he’d get it back. It is worth noting that Murray is still innocent until proven guilty and convicted by a jury of his peers. All this did was establish that a trial is warranted. What do you think? Dr. Conrad Murray …

Nissan Suspends Some Production Due To Ash Disruption

Nissan has released a statement that the company will have to suspend production of three models in Japan on Wednesday because the supply of parts has been disrupted by the volcanic ash in Europe. The carmaker was unable to import air pressure sensors from the Irish Republic. The sensors are used in Nissan’s Cube, Murano and Rogue vehicles. Ash disruption has caused to stop the production of 2,000vehicles in two plants. It is undecided if the suspension continues until Thursday and beyond. One of two production lines is going to be shut down at its Oppama plant in Yokosuka outside Tokyo, while both lines at its southern Kyushu factory will be suspended for the meantime. This has been decided due to the spread of volcanic ash from Iceland, which has greatly affected European airspace.
