It’s a rough-and-tumble week for Blu-ray/DVD releases, starting out with the vengeance filled flick I Spit on Your Grave 2 (2013). This sequel to the skinfamous 1978 version has all the exploitation of the original, with Jemma Dallender spending a large part of the movie completely nude before wreaking bloody revenge. Another horror sequel, V/H/S 2 (2013), is hitting the shelves, with slightly less gruesome scenes of Hannah Hughes and Mindy Robinson topless. Finally, Francois Ozon , the director that brought us Ludivine Sagnier buck naked in Swimming Pool , is treating us to a look at the top floor on Emmanuelle Seigner in In the House (2012). Remember that amazing backyard swimming pool dunk a few weeks back? That was a joke compared to the follow-up from Jon Fishback and friends. After the crew’s first trick shot video – a seven-person, seven-second effort on Vine – went viral, they could have contently basked in their own success. Or, alternately, they could orchestrate a follow-up involving even more people, a much greater surface area, more acrobatic passes, roller blades and two trampolines. Which is what they did. Lauren Conrad is amassing quite the portfolio. The former star of MTV’s Laguna Beach and The Hills just purchased a new Los Angeles home, renovated by Jeff Lewis, of Bravo’s Flipping Out fame. It cost her $3.745 million. Check it out: The private, 4,300-square-foot, 2-story, New England-style home is located in the posh, West L.A. enclave of Brentwood, home to many celebrities. The Olympic gymnast is showing a sense of humor about the Internet meme spoofing her hilariously smug, indifferent reaction to winning a mere silver – not gold – medal in individual vault competition last week. A petition boycotting Basketball Wives and its many violent outbursts has garnered major support even as the show is reportedly being turned into a movie. The creator of the petition , which targets Evelyn Lozada and her bullying ways, writes, “The violence on ‘Basketball Wives’ is horrible and disgraceful.” “Physical assaults, threats, verbal abuse, and harassment. VH1 is rewarding this behavior by giving Evelyn a spinoff. Don’t reward negative behavior.” One rumor going around is that Star Jones is behind the boycott. Why? Star’s ex-husband, Al Reynolds, has been on the show lately, given his relationship with Jennifer Williams , something Jones probably doesn’t appreciate. Her vocal opinion about the show is not positive, but Star denies starting the Basketball Wives boycott campaign or even supporting it with her critiques. “I was never encouraging anybody to boycott somebody’s job,” she said. “That’s not what I’m about. It just struck me really, really to the core that young girls were watching his example of women on TV and getting their self image.” Of course, Jones admits that she began talking about the boycott and the VH1 show’s negativity on her social media accounts in hopes of fostering discussion.
