‘Twilight’ Movie Awards Kiss ‘Shocked’ Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively

‘I’d seen it in my head many times as I closed my eyes,’ Reynolds jokes of Pattison-on-Lautner lip-lock. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson kisses Taylor Lautner at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage In 2009, Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock took the stage at the MTV Movie Awards to present the Golden Popcorn for Best Kiss. In what would become an ongoing theme over the next few years, “Twilight” stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart won the prize. They took the stage to raucous applause and proceeded to tease a reenactment of their onscreen smooch without actually going ahead with the deed. After winning again the next year — and finally puckering up for the crowd — 2011 rolled around and Ryan Reynolds was again picked to hand out the Best Kiss award, this time with “Green Lantern” co-star Blake Lively. Thus both Ryan and Blake had quite a view when, after the Twi-kids once again nabbed the award, Pattinson bounded down from the stage, away from Stewart and into Taylor Lautner’s arms for a seriously unexpected kiss. “I did not know that there would be a ‘Twilight’-on-‘Twilight’ kiss,” Reynolds told us days later when we caught up with him at a “Green Lantern” press event. “We had no idea.” Of course, having witnessed the inaugural “Twilight” Best Kiss win, the actor had been imagining something of the sort for years. “I’d seen it in my head many times as I closed my eyes,” Reynolds added. “But that was quite shocking, actually, that he would just run off the stage like that and attack that poor boy.” Lively’s family, for their part, were equally stunned by the smooch — and the unwelcome attention of MTV’s cameras. “My family was sitting behind them,” Lively explained. “They were like, ‘Ooooh!’ They were hiding. They were so shy.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Emma Watson ‘Couldn’t Compete’ With Pattinson/Lautner Kiss

‘Harry Potter’ star tells MTV News that all the Movie Awards smooching had her feeling left out. By James Montgomery, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Emma Watson at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday Photo: Steve Granitz/Getty Images Aside from the much-anticipated premiere of a new “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” clip during Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards, it was a pretty quiet night for Team Potter, who sat and watched as “Twilight” reaped (nearly) all the awards , besting “Deathly Hollows, Part 1” for Best Movie, Best Male and Female Performance, Best Fight Scene and Best Kiss. In fact, “Potter” took home just one bucket of Golden Popcorn — Tom Felton’s turn as Draco Malfoy earned him Best Villain honors — and as if that weren’t bad enough, it was the stars of “Twilight” who garnered the lion’s share of the headlines too, as everything from Robert Pattinson’s lip-lock with co-star Taylor Lautner to the squeeing reactions to the “Breaking Dawn, Part 1” trailer burned up search engines in the hours following the show. So you could imagine what it must have been like for the “Harry Potter” stars who were actually on hand for the Movie Awards — like, for example, Emma Watson, who not only lost Best Female Performance to Kristen Stewart, but didn’t even get to see the kiss between Pattinson and Lautner. “I missed this moment! I came out, and they were like, ‘Rob just missed Taylor!’ and I was like, ‘Damn!’ ” Watson told MTV News’ Josh Horowitz following the show. “I was still backstage [after introducing the ‘Deathly Hallows, Part 2’] clip, so I missed it. But, I mean, yeah, good on them!” And as if missing out on the kiss-to-end-all-kisses wasn’t bad enough, the whole lip-locking theme of the night had Watson feeling left out. Seems she was the only person who didn’t have someone to kiss. “I mean, I was really up against it. Kristen [Stewart] had two kisses, and Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman making out,” she laughed. “I mean, I couldn’t really compete!” MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . ‘X-Men: First Class’ Finishes First At Box Office

The superhero prequel outclasses sequels ‘The Hangover Part II’ and ‘Kung Fu Panda 2’ in the weekend’s box-office tally. By Ryan J. Downey, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Kristen Stewart and Nicki Minaj Everyone saw the way Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner bonded at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . But behind the scenes, their “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” co-star Kristen Stewart was doing some bonding of her very own — albeit of a very different sort. During one of the night’s many wins for “Twilight,” Stewart accepted the award for Best Female Performance from a bearded Ashton Kutcher and rapper Nicki Minaj. When MTV News caught up with Minaj backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre immediately after she handed over Stewart’s Golden Popcorn, she filled us in on something about her and Kristen that viewers at home wouldn’t have otherwise known. “[Kristen] had shoes on that didn’t hurt her feet. And she didn’t care that they looked really kind of crusty,” Minaj pointed out. “But I did too! I had my Uggs on backstage. “So that made me bond with her,” she added. “She’s cute.” A fast friendship with another female celebrity in an awards-show setting isn’t unprecedented for Minaj. The Young Money rapper chatted with “Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards earlier this year. In fact, Minaj declared herself “obsessed” with Snooki, and Snooki relayed the same sentiment right back. Her outgoing elbow-rubbing isn’t confined to fellow females, of course. “Ashton Kutcher is a lot of fun,” she said of the newly minted “Two and a Half Men” star and her co-presenter. “We’re cool.” The always-fashionable performer has gotten increasingly used to public speaking outside of her musical performances, as evidenced by her complete lack of pre-show jitters at Movie Awards. “I wasn’t nervous at all today — for one of the only times I can remember,” she said. “This was fun!” MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . Emma Stone Calls Her MTV Movie Award ‘My Child’

‘I’ve never won any award before, so this is very exciting,’ she says of Best Comedic Performance prize. By Ryan J. Downey, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Emma Stone wins Best Comedic Performance at the 2011 Movie Awards Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images A newborn baby was part of the plot in “Due Date,” but it was Emma Stone doing the cradling after she beat Zach Galifianakis (and three other guys) at the MTV Movie Awards . “This is my child,” Stone joked with MTV News backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre as she lovingly cradled the Golden Popcorn she nabbed for Best Comedic Performance. “I’m going to [feed him]. I’m going to every day. “It’s never happened before,” she added. “I’ve never won any award before, so this is very exciting.” “Easy A” earned Stone the win over Galifianakis, Adam Sandler (“Just Go With It”), Ashton Kutcher (“No Strings Attached”) and Russell Brand (“Get Him to the Greek”). “In a category with four hilarious comedic men? I did not think I was going to win,” she said. “So I’m incredibly flattered and honored. “And it’s so nice, because it’s voted on by the public, which is an unbelievable honor,” she added. The 22-year-old actress was on hand as a presenter alongside her “Crazy, Stupid, Love” co-stars Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell. She was also nominated in the Best Female Performance category, which went to Kristen Stewart for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” Stone, who just wrapped shooting “The Amazing Spider-Man,” said she was genuinely surprised by her win in the Best Comedic Performance category. “Did that speech seem prepared?” she pointed out, laughing. “I don’t even know what I said! I was just concentrating on not falling over. Once you get up there, it’s a very shaky experience.” MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . ‘Twilight’ Stars: It Was ‘About Damn Time’ For Robert/Taylor Kiss

‘Finally, they acknowledged their love for each other,’ Jackson Rathbone jokes about onscreen rivals at Movie Awards. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Robert Pattinson kisses Taylor Lautner at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage The biggest shocker to come out of the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night (June 5) was hands down that Robert Pattinson treated Taylor Lautner to a smooch almost as passionate as the ones in the Golden Popcorn-winning “Twilight Saga” films. But while it came as a surprise to those of us watching the awards show, the stars of this year’s nominated “Eclipse” said it was about time the two onscreen rivals shared a kiss. “It was about damn time, man. It’s been up in the air for about three years now. I think we’ve all been waiting for Rob and Taylor to kiss,” Jackson Rathbone told MTV News when we caught up with him backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. “We knew it was coming, and finally it did. Finally, they acknowledged their love for each other.” Rathbone’s vampire brother Kellan Lutz admitted he was a bit surprised, but their co-star Peter Facinelli shared a little secret about how the RPattz/Taylor smooch went off without a hitch. “They asked us to show them in practice,” Facinelli said. “We taught them everything they know,” Lutz confirmed. Nikki Reed chimed in, saying she wanted to see some visual proof of the tale Lutz and Facinelli were weaving. “Let’s re-enact that!” she begged, but the duo passed, insisting Facinelli had already pecked Lutz on the cheek earlier in our interview. Tinsel Korey hought the Pattinson and Lautner kiss was “totally sexy,” but Kiowa Gordon said he “puked a little bit” when his onscreen enemies locked lips. BooBoo Stewart had “no comment,” but Julia Jones at least “thought it was cute.” All seemed to have been smoothed over by the time Pattinson, Lautner and their co-stars took the stage to accept the Best Movie award, with Lautner teasingly giving his sparkly co-star a knowing look and a quick tap on the chin before throwing his arm around his shoulder. As Rathbone said, those two should be nominated for a special award at next year’s Movie Awards for Best Man-On-Man Kiss. What did you think of Rob and Taylor’s kiss? Tell us in the comments! ‘Twilight’ Movie Awards Battle: Jackson Rathbone Picks Sides

Although it pains him, actor chooses between Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner to take home the Golden Popcorn. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Jackson Rathbone Photo: MTV News Having a hard time trying to figure out who you’d like to win at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ? “Breaking Dawn” star Jackson Rathbone is weighing in on his picks for Sunday’s big show, and he’s sticking with his Cullen brother Robert Pattinson to win it all. Rathbone is even staunchly Team Edward when it comes to Best Kiss, in which Kristen Stewart is up for getting it on with Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. “How do you decide which is the better kiss: Kris’ kiss with Rob or Kris’ kiss with [Lautner’s] Jacob? Taylor or Rob I guess is what it breaks down to,” he told MTV News earlier this week. “I’m gonna have to side with my brother and go with Rob there.” Rathbone even dove into why Bella and Edward’s kiss really resonated with him. “What is it about that kiss?” he pondered. “You know, to me, it was … a long time coming [and] that understanding between two lovers, and I think there’s a lot of pent-up sexual aggression there, being young and a vampire.” Not only does Rathbone have to pick between Pattinson and Lautner for Best Kiss; the pair are also splitting votes for Best Male Performance, going up against Daniel Radcliffe (“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1”), Jesse Eisenberg (“The Social Network”) and Zac Efron (“Charlie St. Cloud”). Of course, those three guys don’t even count for Rathbone — it’s all about his “Eclipse” buds. “Best Male Performance? Rob or Taylor, once again this boils down to [them],” he said. “I love both guys … but I’m gonna have to once again side with my family and go Robert Pattinson.” Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ? Will Kristen Stewart Sit By Rob Or Taylor At MTV Movie Awards?

How about both? Jim Cantiello takes us behind the seating process before Sunday’s big show. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Jim Cantiello and the seating cards for Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson at the Gibson Amphitheatre Photo: MTV News The 2011 MTV Movie Awards are only days away, and that means all the finishing touches are being made inside the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. MTV News’ Jim Cantiello was on hand as the seating cards were placed inside the theater, and he learned which of Hollywood’s biggest stars would be rubbing elbows during Sunday’s big show. “It’s the most wonderful time of the year, you guys: Seat cards are down at the Movie Awards!” Jim said from inside the Gibson. “This is where all the A-listers are going to be sitting, and look! MTV Movie Awards isn’t making a decision between Team Edward and Team Jacob,” Jim noted, pointing out that Kristen Stewart will be placed smack-dab in the middle of Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, much like her character in “Twilight.” When we caught up with Movie Awards seating manager Stephan Lenart , he explained how he goes about choosing who sits where. “It’s like a puzzle,” he said, adding that he reads up on a ton of entertainment blogs to determine which celebs are in the spotlight before deciding where to seat them. Jim has a special explanation for how one celeb ended up with her seat: “We have Nicki Minaj here with three empty seats. MTV gave her plenty of room for all of her personalities,” he joked about the presenter. Other seating assignments include R&B superstar Trey Songz sitting next to … “Super 8” director J.J. Abrams? “Here we have frequent collaborators Trey Songz and J.J. Abrams, creator of ‘Lost.’ ” Other big attendees and nominees include Emma Stone, Generation Award winner Reese Witherspoon , Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Selena Gomez, Cameron Diaz, Leighton Meester, Katie Cassidy, Shia LaBeouf, Patrick Dempsey, Josh Duhamel and many more. Where everyone will be sitting come the big night could lend itself to some interesting, unexpected moments. Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ? ‘Breaking Dawn’ Is A ‘Fulfilling’ Finale, Jackson Rathbone Says

‘It really wraps up the story in such a beautiful way,’ the ‘Twilight’ star tells MTV News. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Jackson Rathbone Photo: MTV News There’s plenty of “Twilight” goodness to look forward to at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards , but what Jackson Rathbone is most looking forward to is the sneak peek of “Breaking Dawn” that his castmates Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will present during the big show. Rathbone shared his enthusiasm for the final two “Twilight Saga” films when we caught up with him on the set of his new film “Live at the Foxes Den,” describing the finale as “the culmination of this saga, and it really wraps up the story in such a beautiful way. We had the amazing [director] Bill Condon on, and I was very, very excited to play Jasper once again in these films and kind of step up.” Fans who have read the book know Jasper and his lady Alice (Ashley Greene) have a very significant role in the “Breaking Dawn” plot arc, but Rathbone said he was more excited to show off Jasper’s love and devotion to his family in the next two movies than he was for his beefed-up role. “There’s an amazing moment in ‘Breaking Dawn’ – I can’t say which movie, though. I’m sorry, I’m not technically allowed. But there’s a very fulfilling moment for myself as an actor and as a fan of the books and of the film series that you get to see, in the end, really how much these characters love one another and how much they function as a family, even though they are kind of an odd family of vampires. Vegetarian vampires, at that. They’re an odd bunch,” Rathbone said with a laugh. “But, I mean, the way they love and feel about each other and the way they protect and support one another I think is beautiful, so I think we’re going to get to see that happen in ‘Breaking Dawn.’ ” Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ?
