Taylor Swift Upset Over Kanye West’s Lyrics About Her When Kanye West’s T.L.O.P. album listening event went down earlier this evening, fans were shocked that ‘Ye “went there” with some of his lyrics . Apparently some of Kanye’s colleagues were just as shocked as the rest of us by what they heard — none moreso than Taylor Swift. Apparently Swifty was shocked to hear ‘Ye rap about smashing her flat backs to smithereens, but also to hear that he feels like he’s responsible for her mega-success in the pop world. On the track “Famous,” Kanye raps: For all my Southside n—-s who know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why, I made that b*tch famous / G*d damn / I made that b*tch famous Welp…needless to say Taylor wasn’t feeling it, and wanted to make sure everyone knows that Kanye didn’t get a permission slip from her on that line. Via People : Taylor Swift was as shocked as her fans were to hear about Kanye West’s rap diss. In fact, Swift’s spokesperson tells PEOPLE, “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account,” adding, “She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.’” It had been reported earlier that the rapper had directly contacted Swift, 26, “late last month” during which she “said she got the joke and gave him the thumbs up to release the song with the lyric.” Several things to unpack here. First off…who is Taylor Swift to “warn” and instruct a grown azz man like Kanye on what to and not to do? Secondly, did she bother to ring Kanye up before she wrote an ENTIRE SONG about Kanye needing to grow uo after that “I’ma let you finish” moment? Next…how exactly could she warn him against the “misogynistic content” of a song when she allegedly had no idea what the lyrics even were? Last…how hilarious is it that Kanye wanted her to unknowingly tweet out the song where he raps about banging her smashing her and basically says she’d be nothing without him? Either way, Taylor’s brother had some thoughts on the situation: Oh well.
