Taylor Lautner Is ‘Close’ With ‘Breaking Dawn’ Love Mackenzie Foy

‘She’s the cutest little girl, and she’s so smart,’ he tells MTV News of 10-year-old actress playing Renesmee. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Taylor Lautner Photo: MTV News Taylor Lautner is still pining away for Bella in “Breaking Dawn,” but she’s already made her decision to marry Edward instead of pursuing a life with Jacob. But don’t feel too bad for the werewolf. (Spoiler alert for those unfamiliar with the books!) He finds a new love in his own unique way when he imprints himself on Bella and Edward’s infant vampire daughter, Renesmee. Lautner told MTV News during “MTV First: Taylor Lautner” last week that he and pre-teen Mackenzie Foy, who plays Renesmee in “Part 2,” have become fast friends, despite the awkward circumstances. “She’s so awesome,” he said of the 10-year-old. “She’s the cutest little girl, and she’s so smart, so on it and so talented. She’s great. … We’re close.” The story not only touches on that romance, but also, finally, shows Bella and Edward on their romantic honeymoon (sexy photos of which were leaked earlier this month , much to the dismay of “Twilight” studio Summit Entertainment and Robert Pattinson ). Lautner said he had some interesting inspiration when he was playing Jacob thinking about his former flame and rival married. “It’s like the story’s always told from Bella, but when they’re at the honeymoon, you’ll be able to see me thinking about what they’re doing on the honeymoon,” he said. “Very awkward,” he jokingly added. “When we were filming that scene, I’m like, ‘So, [director] Bill Condon, what am I thinking right now?’ ” he recalled of having on-set discussions about Jacob’s story. “He’s like, ‘Just imagine what’s going on in Brazil right now.’ ” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Taylor Lautner Says End Of ‘Twilight’ Will Be A ‘Bummer’

‘I’ve been filming with these people for years,’ he says during ‘MTV First’ interview. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Taylor Lautner Photo: MTV News With production on the two-part “Breaking Dawn” about to finish, the impending “Twilight” finale was an unavoidable topic during our exclusive sit-down with superstar heartthrob Taylor Lautner, a.k.a. werewolf Jacob Black. Wednesday’s 30-minute interview for “MTV First: Taylor Lautner” was pegged to Lautner’s highly anticipated first non-“Twilight” leading role in “Abduction,” but of course we had to bring up the fourth and fifth films in “The Twilight Saga” — specifically Lautner’s feelings about finishing up filming the epic and hugely popular franchise. “We have a couple more days and it’s over — it’s a crazy thought,” Lautner said. “I think it’s mixed emotions, for sure,” he added, regarding his feelings on nearing the end of filming. “Half of me says, ‘This will be a relief. I get some time off, I get to spend some time with family and friends and do other things,’ but the other half says, ‘This is going to be so weird.’ I’ve been filming with these people for years, so it will definitely be a bummer. It will be sad on the last day,” he admitted. When asked whether he thinks he and his fellow castmates will shed any tears when production officially wraps, Lautner admitted, “I think there will. Nobody will admit it right now, but I guarantee you there will be tears.” Will Lautner be joining in on the waterworks or holding them back? “I’ll try and hold back,” he laughed. Taylor Lautner Debuts ‘Abduction’ Trailer

‘It’s crazy for me to actually watch the trailer, because I’ve been envisioning this movie put together for so long,’ Lautner tells MTV News. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Taylor Lautner and Lily Collins in “Abduction” Photo: Lionsgate We’re not exaggerating when we say you’ve never seen Taylor Lautner like this — leading man, action hero, devoid of any supernatural powers. We say that because, until now, the trailer for the 19-year-old actor’s upcoming thriller “Abduction” has been under wraps. But as part of “MTV First: Taylor Lautner,” we’re exclusively debuting the first-ever look at footage from the movie, which hits theaters September 23. “It’s crazy for me to actually watch the trailer, because I’ve been envisioning this movie put together for so long — ever since I read the script,” Lautner told us at the start of a 30-minute chat. “Just to see it all together now is really exciting.” Lautner plays a teen named Nathan, who’s always felt something wasn’t quite right. As he puts it in the trailer, “Sometimes I feel different. I walk around like everybody else, but inside I just feel like I’m a stranger in my own life.” He’s right. After stumbling upon his baby picture on a missing-persons website and reaching out to his birth parents, Nathan finds himself caught up in a world of underground spies and death-defying stunts. Those stunts are very much on display in the new trailer. He rides a motorcycle through the woods, gets into a fight on a moving train, scales scaffolding and slides down glass roofing. Oh, and he makes time for a steamy kiss with co-star Lily Collins. All the while, Nathan’s on the run from a CIA agent (Alfred Molina) who intends to apprehend him. “It’s a great story, it’s a great character, there are a lot of great characters, there’s a lot of action, it’s fun,” Lautner said. “Also, I knew it was going to be challenging, so I was looking forward to that.” What did you think of the “Abduction” trailer? Britney Spears Tour Invite ‘Is Such An Honor,’ Nervo Say

Aussie DJ duo tell MTV News they’re ready to ‘spread the Nervo love’ on Femme Fatale tour. By Jocelyn Vena Nervo Photo: Getty Images Nervo’s Mim and Liv will be joining Britney Spears this summer for her highly anticipated Femme Fatale tour, alongside Nicki Minaj and Jessie and the Toy Boys. When the Aussie twins spoke to MTV News on Tuesday, the same day the tour lineup was announced, they seemed genuinely surprised by the news, calling the slot “such an honor.” “We have worked with her team of people for songwriting camps and stuff like that, but we’ve never met Britney. It’s been a dream to have one of our record productions on her album, but we didn’t get there this time,” Mim said. All the acts on the tour are female, so Liv thinks “it’s going to be ladies night every night. I imagine we’ll be playing some of our club releases,” she added of Nervo’s set. “It’ll be a DJ set and very electronic and house-based. We’re really excited to be able to warm everyone up with some sexy house music.” The girls are also excited about the prospect of meeting Britney. “I wonder if I’ll be starstruck? I just love her. I just love her records. She always releases great pop records. I really respect her,” Mim said. “You hear rumors that [the openers] never really get to meet [the main acts],” Liv said. “I hope we get to hang out. We’ve been told we’re going to be on an RV for a lot of it. I love the whole experience of being on a tour bus. I love the road.” Since the tour seems to be all about girl power, the two sassy ladies explained what makes them such femme fatales. “I guess we have a no-fear attitude,” Mim said. “We don’t let our being girls stop us. Certainly DJing is a very male-dominated [field], and we haven’t let us being girls stop us.” Bottom line: They’re hoping through their house-music set they can “spread the Nervo love.” Are you excited to see Nervo on Britney Spears’ tour? Taylor Lautner Fights For His Right To ‘Twilight’ In His #1 MTV Moment

Lautner will debut the ‘Abduction’ trailer and chat with MTV News tonight at 7:56 p.m. ET! By Jocelyn Vena Taylor Lautner Photo: MTV News After finding phenomenal success as Jacob Black in the first “Twilight” movie, Taylor Lautner’s role as the lovable werewolf was in jeopardy by the time talk of “New Moon” began to ramp up in December 2008. There seemed to be a chance that the then-scrawny Lautner might not return to the flick. Before tonight’s “MTV First: Taylor Lautner” debut at 7:56 p.m. ET on air and online, we’ve been counting down Lautner’s finest MTV moments — and at #1, we see him fighting to keep his role as Jacob Black. “I have been working out. I’ve been working out since the day we finished filming ‘Twilight.’ I just weighed myself today; I’ve put on 19 pounds,” he told MTV News of how he was working to ensure he’d be Jacob from movie one right through the very last flick. The actor admitted that he was working hard and fast to make sure he could be the Jacob that author Stephanie Meyer had always envisioned. “I’m guaranteeing [director Chris] Weitz 10 more [pounds] by filming. I get to meet Chris on Friday, in two days, so I’m excited,” he said. “I’m going to have lunch with him.” Well, whatever Lautner did and worked. It’s now April 2011, and with production basically wrapped on the very last film in the franchise, it’s clear the actor and the fans couldn’t imagine anyone else playing the role. “My job for ‘Twilight’ was to bring ‘Twilight’ Jacob to life — the friendly, happy-go-lucky little Jacob,” Lautner explained back then of his arc. “And my job for ‘New Moon’ is completely different; I’ve been looking forward to that. I’ve been getting ready for it, and I can assure them that I will follow through with that job.” Don’t miss “MTV First: Taylor Lautner” tonight at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com. Taylor Lautner’s 10 Best MTV Quotes

Gear up for Lautner’s ‘MTV First’ interview Wednesday at 7:56 p.m. ET by looking back at a few choice lines he’s given us. By Eric Ditzian Taylor Lautner Photo: MTV News Taylor Lautner has changed a lot since we first met him in April 2008 on the Portland, Oregon, set of “Twilight.” He’s gone from a skinny 16-year-old who not everyone believed would be able to convincingly portray jacked-up werewolf Jacob Black to a 19-year-old heartthrob who elicits screams from fans every time he doffs his shirt and who is set to become the highest-paid teen in Hollywood . Not too bad, right? Yet as his body has transformed and his celebrity has exploded, Lautner has managed to stay the same person. That’s the unmistakable takeaway as we dive back into our archival interviews with the actor in the run-up to “MTV First: Taylor Lautner,” a 30-minute interview set for Wednesday on air and online. From back in ’08 up until this very day, Lautner has remained a funny, goofy, sometimes shy, always thankful kid. With those thoughts in mind, check out our 10 favorite Lautner quotes from MTV News interviews and tell us if you can possibly disagree: 10. “I think they might start crying.” — On the reaction to fans seeing him shirtless in “New Moon” 9. “It is a little awkward for me to watch myself and, actually, when we’re filming those scenes.” — On shooting those shirtless scenes 8. “One second I’ll be listening to country, and then the next I’ll be listening to techno and then R&B. It’s ridiculous. I am all over the place with my music.” — On his musical tastes 7. “It’s like the worst superhero power, possibly, to get, and how you’re going to take that and use it for good and how you’re going to be creative with that.” — On the abilities of Stretch Armstrong , a character he signed on to play last year 6. “It’s my favorite, because it’s the most guy-friendly by far. It’s dangerous. There’s a lot of action. The romance is still there, but the action level is stepped up way more.” — On why “Eclipse” is his favorite “Twilight” book 5. “The quote I love the most is Jacob’s quote: ‘Does my half being naked bother you?’ That quote just cracks me up. Because, you know, that’s when he’s shirtless, not wearing a top.” — On his favorite line in a “Twilight” book 4. “It gets kind of itchy.” — On his “Twilight” wig 3. “It caught me by surprise when I read the book. I think I originally heard it happened through somebody who had already read it — and I didn’t believe it. Then I read the book, and I was like, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me.’ ” — On his initial reaction to the book release of “Breaking Dawn” 2. “There’s a scene where I’m carrying [Kristen Stewart], and it’s also, like, four pages of dialogue. So I’m carrying her, and we’re walking through the woods, and I’m talking to her, and it’s a pretty intense talk. We actually had plans, a rig that was basically going to carry her, and I was just going to pretend that I was carrying her. We got there on the day, and the rig didn’t look very natural. They were like, ‘What are we going to do?’ and I’m like, ‘I’ll just carry her. She’s like, what, 110 pounds? It’s no big deal!’ ” — On filming an “Eclipse” scene with his co-star 1. “To growl. I’m asked that by a lot by fans, and I don’t like doing that. So, fans, please don’t ask me that. Wait for the movie.” — On his least-favorite question What’s your favorite Taylor Lautner MTV quote? Taylor Lautner’s ‘Abduction’ Hero Vs. Jason Bourne: Who Would Win?

Lautner will debut the ‘Abduction’ trailer and chat with MTV News on Wednesday at 7:56 p.m. ET. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Taylor Lautner Photo: MTV News Only one more day until “Twilight” superstar Taylor Lautner graces MTV News with his hunky presence for “MTV First: Taylor Lautner,” which premieres on air and online Wednesday at 7:56 p.m. ET. The 19-year-old star will exclusively debut the first trailer from his upcoming action/thriller “Abduction,” after which the conversation will move to MTV.com where Lautner will sit down with MTV News’ Josh Horowitz for a 30-minute interview. If you Lautner fans weren’t already excited about this exclusive event, we’ve got a little sneak peek of what you’ll be privy to when you tune in and log on for our latest “MTV First.” During the interview, Lautner discusses the similarities and inevitable comparisons between his confused young character, Nathan Price, and Jason Bourne. “I would say Nathan Price’s journey takes place before Jason Bourne’s started,” Lautner explained. “When Jason realized, when he was searching for his true identity, he was already a trained expert.” How about Nathan vs. Jason — who would win? “I think Nathan would need a little more training,” Lautner said. “Give him a couple years, and we’ll get there.” Lautner’s co-star Lily Collins recently offered her thoughts on the Bourne comparisons, giving major props to Lautner for his work on the film. “[He is] very Jason Bourne-esque, of course, with his own twist on it,” Collins explained to MTV News of Taylor’s character in the film. “It’s a complete departure from Jacob. Obviously I’m in the movie so I’m biased, but I think it’s going to completely shock his fans, and people that necessarily don’t know him very well as Jacob that aren’t ‘Twilight’ fans. I think he brings an aspect people haven’t seen yet and [it’s] very, very exciting.” Don’t miss “MTV First: Taylor Lautner” this Wednesday at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com.
