Ex-NYPD Cops Sentenced To 75 Years For Sexually Assaulting Woman At Gunpoint Former cop Michael Pena, convicted of terrorizing and sexually assaulting a Manhattan school teacher at gunpoint, will be 103 years old when he gets his first shot at parole. Pena, 27, got hit Monday with a 75-year-to-life sentence which means that he will likely die in prison. The sentence brought a rare smile to the face of the 25-year-old victim, who was outraged when the same jury that convicted Pena of sexual assault deadlocked on whether he actually raped her. “That day was supposed to be a new beginning for me,” the nervous victim told the court in a high-pitched voice before Pena was sentenced. “My life has been shattered.” She said Pena destroyed forever her sense of security and independence. “This has impacted every single aspect of my life,” she said. “He used his weapon and basically destructed my life with the choice he made that day.” The soon-to-be inmate offered a half-a$$ed apology after the verdict was handed down. “I’m deeply sorry for my conduct last August and the pain it caused.” Pena paused for a moment and then resumed speaking. “I deserve my punishment,” he said. “I will always carry the shame and burden of my actions. I’m Cindy and I’m 18 years old. I can’t even fathom that I’m actually here, sending an email about my experience, that I actually met Justin. I’ve been a fan of him for the past 3 years and every day of those 3 years I did everything to try and meet Justin. I’ve emailed Ellen countless times, submitted videos, tweeted Justin, handed notes at concerts, waited hours for him, etc. One day while I was on tumblr I saw a “Justin Bieber BIGGEST fan” VEVO contest, only thing it said “LA residents only.” Regardless, I entered and told them about how much my idol meant to me and 15 minutes later I received a call from them. They told me I had a really good chance at meeting Justin and to submit another video. I recorded another video and started to lose hope when May 1st came along. The final recording was held the next day and I hadn’t gotten an email. I gave it one last shot and checked my messages and I saw that I was selected to come down to LA and be recorded for VEVO for a chance at meeting Justin Bieber. I felt so humbled and blessed, but I didn’t know how I was going to get to LA on such short notice especially since I live 6 hours away. I used my money I had been saving for my Believe concert tickets to drive down that night. I didn’t have anyone to stay with so I stayed in a motel. With only one hour of sleep, I headed over to the studio which is where the recordings were being held, a few ladies took a liking to me which made me feel more comfortable. They had a huge snack table and the recording area looked so professional like a music video! I felt so worn down and exhausted but nothing else mattered because I knew I was there for my idol. Me and 3 other fans were recorded lip syncing BABY and then one by one we went up for an interview. While I was there, one of the ladies gave me an email to contact because she told me Justin was having an event tomorrow at MTV. Without hesitation I contacted the email and got information about the event. I felt like my odds were high and I left feeling proud of myself for believing in this so much. Money was running low and I was afraid I had to head home because I had no where to stay but I pinched out my last few bucks and managed to find a place. The next morning I received all the information I needed and the location. It was held around 2:30pm PST and I arrived at the location, waiting while each of us got a number and pass. We all headed up the elevator and then sent to a room that had snacks for us to eat while we waited for them to fix up the area. At around 3, we were all led into the room where the BOYFRIEND premier was held on MTV. It was amazing to be there and then we all met Sway. We were all lined up and told what to do. The questions asked were already picked before we went on air which was a bit unfair, since they just chose random people based on their number. Sway rehearsed a few times with a fake Justin, and we all got the feel of what it was going to be like. Around 4:30pm we saw Kenny enter and that’s when we knew Justin was here! Justin headed in a car and once he stepped out we all applauded. He walked down the red carpet and handed out a few hugs to fans and when he was right in front of me I was able to touch his back hoping he’d turn around and give me a hug. As the interview proceeded, BOYFRIEND was finally shown and during the video, Justin was so immobilized by his video. It was so cute to see how proud he looked. After the show ended Justin said with a huge smile on his face, “You guys want pictures?” White Kenny told Justin no and that he had to leave, but Justin refused and stayed to take a photo with each and every one of us. When standing in line I had no idea what I wanted to say, but it came naturally when I was right in front of him. White Kenny took my photo and walking up to Justin I said, “It has been my biggest dream to meet you.” He told me, “Awww well I’m glad it finally happened.” He gave me a kiss on the cheek and we took a photo. I hugged him so tight and I can’t tell you how proud I felt to be there. After the photo I said, “Never say never right?” Justin smiled at me and told me, “Exactly.” He’s the sweetest person and really is grounded. After I got to meet Kenny and we talked about his braces and he was so kind and introduced himself to me and shook my hand. March 26th, is a day I will NEVER forget. It started off on Friday March 23rd. I woke up at 6am, getting ready for school. My mom was late to work, and at 6:30 the radio automatically turns on, so my mom heard on the radio on kiis fm, “Do you wanna have breakfast with Justin Bieber? Submit me an email saying why you should meet Justin Bieber! I’ll pick out some of the biggest beliebers out there! Only a few will win!” My mom was like, “Nia you better email Ryan Seacrest if you wanna win breakfast with Bieber!” I was like OMFG. Imagine, having breakfast with him. I couldn’t, it seemed unreal. I told my mom that I didn’t have time to email him, so my mom volunteered to email it for me at work, so she did. I went to school, forgetting about the breakfast with Bieber thing because really I knew that I could never have breakfast with him, and whoever won breakfast with him would be SUPER lucky. I was in my science class, and I was listening to my ipod while working when my mom texted me saying, “OMG NIA YOU WON!!” I was like what, she’s joking right? After that we went into a private room to meet Justin. Justin came in the room saying, “Heeeeeeeyyyyyy wassssuppp!!” I was like omg, he is the most adorable thing on earth. We got our pictures and stuff, and Justin looked right into my eyes and said, “It was really nice to meet you” I almost died. When he kissed my cheek, he let go slowly, so when he let go it made that kissing noise, I will never forget that noise. I asked Kenny and Alfredo for a picture too, they really are really funny and nice. Scooter even let this girl’s mom in because she was waiting outside. Teachers sure are getting bold these days: Fairfax County school administrators are investigating a student’s allegations of racially insensitive behavior by a veteran English teacher at George C. Marshall High School. Ninth-grader Jordan Shumate said that during class this month, he was reading aloud a poem by acclaimed African American writer Langston Hughes when his teacher interrupted and directed him to read in a “blacker” style. “She told me, ‘Blacker, Jordan — c’mon, blacker. I thought you were black,’ ” said Shumate, who is African American. Shumate told his mother, Nicole Cober Page, about the incident Tuesday. She complained to school administrators. “We take these allegations very seriously, and we’re investigating,” Principal Jay Pearson said Friday. He declined to provide further details. Shumate, 14, and his mother identified the teacher as Marilyn Bart. Bart did not respond Thursday or Friday to e-mail and phone inquiries about the incident. Records show that Bart has worked in Fairfax schools since 1990. Another ninth-grader, Kaila Denny, said she witnessed the incident. Shumate was “just sitting there reading normally like any person would,” Denny said, when Bart instructed him to speak “blacker.” Shumate said that when he refused to continue reading the poem, Bart read it aloud herself, demonstrating what she meant. “She sounded like a maid in the 1960s,” Shumate said. “She read the poem like a slave, basically.” Shumate said he asked Bart that day whether she thinks all black people speak that way. She reprimanded him for talking out of turn, he said, and told him to take his seat. The poem Shumate read in class was Hughes’s “Ballad of the Landlord.” The poem, written in 1940, tells of a black tenant thrown in jail for challenging a deadbeat landlord. “Landlord, landlord,” it begins. “My roof has sprung a leak./Don’t you ’member I told you about it/Way last week? What the fawk?!?! A Wellington couple have been found guilty of taking part in threesomes with a 15-year-old relative. The 49-year-old man and the 37-year-old woman were found guilty by a Wellington District Court jury on Saturday of having underage sex with the teenager and the man was found guilty of supplying her with cannabis. The man was found not guilty of doing an indecent act on her which related to asking her for a kiss on Mt Victoria in 2007. The girl who is the woman’s cousin had come to live with the couple in 2008 to escape trouble she had been getting into in Hawke’s Bay. After smoking cannabis with the pair one night she was taken to their bed. She said they had sex with her multiple times together and separately. After one time the woman thanked her for “making my man feel young again.” She was taken back to Hawke’s Bay after other members of her family found out what had happened. The man has a previous conviction for sleeping with a 15-year-old girl, who is now his wife. They are both to be sentenced in March. This dude truly ain’t shyte . According to the Fresno Bee, Neng Yang had been a teacher at Freedom Elementary in Clovis, CA since 2007. But earlier this month, a mom noticed that her daughter wasn’t on the playground having PE with the other kids. When she asked about it, her daughter said she’d been playing “the lollipop game” alone in the classroom with her teacher, in which he blindfolded her and let her taste different lollipops. Based on her description, authorities were worried abuse was involved, so they searched Yang’s classroom — and found cell phone photos and video of the girl “working her jaws” on Yang on several occasions dating back to Jan. 3. Yang’s now in jail awaiting a hearing — he could be charged with child molestation, sexual abuse of a child, and possession of obscene materials, and get up to 30 years in prison. As often (and disturbingly) happens, Yang was a trusted teacher before the arrest. And the abuse has shaken his community for reasons beyond the obvious: says one parent, “I’m Hmong, he’s a Hmong teacher. It’s a setback for us.” A Facebook commenter also called Yang a “disgrace to the Hmong community.” Nearby Fresno, CA has one of the biggest Hmong populations in the country, but Clovis is overwhelmingly white — and for a relatively small minority, a sexual abuse case centering on one of their own is doubly upsetting. Ultimately, though, everyone’s trust has been shaken. Says mom Natalie Torres: “I couldn’t believe they said that ‘everyone on staff can be trusted’ after this. That trust issue will be in the back of my mind, no matter what school my son goes to.” Which is a reminder that child abuse harms not just the victims themselves, but everyone around them, who will now have to worry about teachers playing the “lollipop game” — or something similarly awful — with their kids. A 15-year-old was sentenced to 85 years in prison for killing and sexually assaulting his teacher at a Maryland youth facility, MyFoxDC reported. Brian Wonsom pleaded guilty on Friday to killing his teacher Hannah Wheeling with a cinder block when he was 13. “It’s a tremendous tragedy,” Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks said. “And there’s no answer for why a 13-year-old boy is capable, would be capable, of killing and raping in the manner that he did, but we are now satisfied that we have removed the threat from our community. It is sad on so many levels.” Court records show that Wonsom also pleaded guilty to a second violent attack that originally was not made public. Wonsom was being held at Cheltenham Youth Facility, which serves youth awaiting trial or court disposition, after his mother found stolen items in his possession. Wheeling’s bloody body was found outside a cottage on February 18, 2010. Additional evidence, including a bloody sweatshirt with matching DNA to the victim, was found by state police investigators under a stairwell. The name inside the sweatshirt read “Brian Wonsom, ” the report said. DNA matching Wonsom was found on a lanyard that was used in the attack. Prosecutors believe Wonsom is a sociopath who would need decades of intensive therapy before anyone would think it was prudent to allow him to walk the streets again, the report said. In court Friday, prosecutors showed evidence of the teen trying to kill another woman before attacking his teacher at the facility in 2010. The boy is also a prime suspect in an attempted murder case. Prosecutors say the 13-year-old entered a woman’s apartment through an unlocked sliding glass door and stabbed her several times before she screamed and he ran off. Investigators connected Wonsom to the crime through fingerprints found on a knife, MyFoxDC reported. Prosecutors say doctors who examined the teen found him to be sane, but wicked. “Oh yeah, completely without being mentally ill,” Prosecutor Wes Adams said. “He exhibited no remorse, childhood onset anti-social personality disorder. That’s not criminally insane, that’s dangerous.” Why he chose to attack Wheeling is still unclear. Since there is parole in Maryland, Wonsom will be eligible to apply in his mid-to-late 50s.
