Michael Smith Leaves ESPN’s ‘SportsCenter’ Just One Month After Co-Host Jemele Hill

Leon Bennett/Getty Images for BET Friday Will Be Michael Smith’s Last Day On SportsCenter Michael Smith is set to leave his role as ESPN’s  SportsCenter  6 p.m. ET host, and his last day will be on Friday, March 9. Smith’s departure comes a little over a month after his former co-host, Jemele Hill , left the program to join ESPN’s website,  The Undefeated . Smith has not yet announced where he will be going after leaving  SportsCenter , but  Sports Illustrated  reports that he–just like Hill–still has multiple years left on his ESPN contract, so it’s assume that he will stay within the brand in one capacity or another. According to New York Post  reporter Andrew Marchand, the most likely replacements for Hill and Smith will be Sage Steele and John Anderson, who are the currentl hosts of  SportsCenter  at night. As @sportsrapport tweeted, I was told last week that Sage Steele and John Anderson were favorites to be new 6 pm SportsCenter team. As @richarddeitsch reported, Michael Smith will no longer do SC. This was a when, not if, situation. — Andrew Marchand (@AndrewMarchand) March 9, 2018 In September of last year, ESPN Executive Vice President Norby Williamson took control of the  SportsCenter  franchise, and immediately instituted changes to the show that greatly affected how Hill and Smith did their jobs. He himself admitted that there was “probably an element of truth” to claims that Hill left the show at least in part because of the changes he implemented–and the same could probably go for Michael, as well. As for next moves, Smith himself hasn’t commented on anything in particular, but Williamson said in a statement , “Michael is a talented commentator, and we greatly appreciate and value his contributions and creativity. We are in the process of discussing with him potential next ESPN assignments.” Good luck to Smith on his next endeavor!

These Apple Employees Couldn’t Stop Walking Into Walls For One Hilarious Reason

Source: B. Tanaka / Getty Things got real at an Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California recently, and it all stemmed from Apple trying to be all cute and innovative, and stuff. The company built a huge donut-shaped headquarters with massive floor-to-ceiling glass panels, which made it seem like the building blended in with the surrounding forest. Cute right?   The only problem is, everything was so crystal clear, employees kept running into the glass doors and windows. Just a few days after the headquarters opened in January, three people were injured resulting in 911 calls.   Luckily, none of the injuries were life-threatening and no one had to be sent to the hospital. Now employees try to make glass more visible using stickers. Ironically enough, Apple Vice President of Real Estate Development Dan Whisenhunt said the company didn’t have any problems with birds flying into glass windows — only humans had the issue.   The struggle is real.

Editorial: You Love Killmonger At The Expense Of Black Women

*THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS HEAVY SPOILERS FOR BLACK PANTHER* One of the beauties of Black Panther is the fact that there are so many sides to a political debate and everyone has a defensible point. T’Challa wants to maintain Wakandan peace in solitude without worrying about outsiders (namely Westerners) infiltrating and destroying their way of life. Nakia thinks Wakanda can be a beacon of peace for the rest of Africa, and the world, offering its technological advances to better subjugated countries. Erik Killmonger wants to use Wakandan weaponry to initiate a worldwide black revolution. He wants to use vibranium-powered technology to take down the countries that have colonized and pillaged blackness for centuries. His stance in particular has garnered a passionate following on social media and melinated brunches across the country. Get a group of people together to debate Black Panther and you may see as many people riding for Killmonger as anyone else in the movie. The defense of Killmonger is pretty typical, because we as a society are so incredibly capable of overlooking someone’s treatment of black women on the road to being pegged as a revolutionary. In short, Killmonger is simply an abuser and murderer of black women and defending him means a willingness to accept his treatment of those black women on the way to faux-liberation. Here are the times Killmonger laid hands on people in the movie: 1. He shot his girlfriend in the head to get her out of the way so he could kill a white man. Which, c’mon, the symbolism there is really what this whole article is about, right? 2. He defeated T’Challa in ritual combat. Okay, fine. He won fair and square (after giving a monologue about the people from black and brown countries he’s killed along the way). 3. He choked an elder black woman because she didn’t want to burn down all the remaining heart-shaped herbs. Which, by the way, if he were really about liberating all of his people instead of just himself, why wouldn’t he send a few heart-shaped herbs to some of the spies in countries across the world? Namely countries that have Captain Americas running around? 4. He killed a member of the Dora Milaje, slicing her throat when mere incapacitation was enough. Two minutes later he cut Nakia in the leg and then tried to kill Shuri before T’Challa stopped him. 5. He fought T’Challa again and died. So in the five scenes in which Killmonger fought someone, he left two black women dead, one choked out, another one injured and another within a few inches of getting killed. Killmonger didn’t care about black women in his quest for liberation. He wasn’t a revolutionary, because no true revolutionary can possibly think black freedom is possible without all black people also being freed. He never showed any regard for black women at any moment in the film. Killmonger wasn’t a savior. He was Chris Brown with military training. But I’m not surprised that so many people ignored his treatment of black women to crown him our new lord and savior. We live in a world where making a song we can two-step to is grounds for society forgiving how many black women get hurt along the way. Seriously, I was at a party this weekend where a DJ played “Step In The Name Of Love.” In 2018. It’s just absurd how many people left Black Panther screaming about the strong portrayals of the black women in the film while cheering for someone who beat up literally every one of those women. That’s because abusing black women isn’t ever a non-starter for us. Instead our conversations revolve around how much abuse towards black women we’re willing to accept before we finally “cancel” someone. Misogyny can’t be the few cracked eggs we will accept to make our chicken anymore. Abuse can’t be the spilled milk it’s always been. Killmonger should have been seen as a villain the moment he put his hands on a woman. If I had to choose between T’Challa and Killmonger, I’d choose the former. He surrounded himself with black women from the beginning and listened and revered them. But really, if we’re keeping it a buck, Nakia was the one who was right all along any damn way.

Nina Dobrev Is Hard At Work

Looks like  Nina Dobrev is still on that “work” trip of hers, because here she is hard at work dancing in a sombrero on a yacht and eating hamburgers in her bra. And before any of you out there starting writing me emails saying neither of those things technically count as “work,” let me ask you: would you rather watch Nina do stuff like this for a living, or watch her sit behind a desk writing expense reports? I rest my case. Enjoy.

Annalynne McCord’s Hotness Still Exists

I’m pretty sure  Annalynne McCord hasn’t technically been considered “famous” ever since her 90210 remake went off the air years ago. (And probably even before that, too.) But she’s always been hot enough for a pants fire or two, so I’m glad to see she’s trying to resurrect her career as a professional Instagram nobody these days. She should’ve done this years ago. She’s a natural. » view all 11 photos

Danniella Westbrook’s Tits Bolted On by a Blind Man of the Day

Danniella Westbrook – what the fuck… I saw these days ago, pretended I didn’t, avoided posting them, but they are just too weird to ignore… I don’t know who or what a Daniella Westbrook is…but I know these bolt on tits are some of the most mangled I’ve seen and I guess that’s pretty rude of me in an era where we should totally support all women parts even when they look like they were found in a dumpster and stapled on, because we are in a world of INCLUSION…everyone is beautiful even when they scare the fuck out of me. That’s all I have to say about that…. The post Danniella Westbrook’s Tits Bolted On by a Blind Man of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepFather.com .

Jaime King for Love and Lemons of the Day

Jaime King is the new face/body of Love and Lemons, probably a friend deal, you know LA girls all know each other if they are at a certain echelon of success….because why else would a brand want some 38 year old to be their model…it just doesn’t make any logical or scientific sense…it’s gotta be a friend thing… Everyone who knows who Jaime King is, knows that before she was on whtever TV show she’s on, thanks to acting being a joke of a career that anyone can do.. She was a top NYC model with a huge heroin addiction in the late 90s….so deep into heroin her boyfriend died of an overdose on her…real deal shit… Far more interesting than this stylized shit that she’s obviously doing to try to still look hot…and I guess the good news is she’s still got that skinny heroin model body…because this fat would be terrible… The post Jaime King for Love and Lemons of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepFather.com .
