Time for this lyin’ azz broad to pay her penance… Shannon Richardson Pleads Guilty To Send Ricin To Obama Via ABCNews A Texas woman and former actress pleaded guilty Tuesday to sending ricin-laced letters to President Barack Obama and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, under a deal that her attorney has said would cap prison time at 18 years. Shannon Guess Richardson entered her plea in federal court in Texarkana, Texas, to a federal charge of possessing and producing a biological toxin. Richardson was arrested in June after authorities said she tried to implicate her ex-husband, Nathan Richardson, after he had filed for divorce. Prosecutors say Shannon Richardson mailed three letters from New Boston, outside Texarkana, then went to police and claimed that her husband had done it. The letter to Obama, according to a federal indictment, said: “What’s in this letter is nothing compared to what ive got in store for you mr president.” Prosecutors say investigators noted inconsistencies in Richardson’s statements and later learned that she had purchased materials online to produce ricin, a toxin that can cause respiratory failure if inhaled. Richardson, 35, has had minor roles in the television series “The Walking Dead” and the movie “The Blind Side.” She also is the mother of six children — including one child born prematurely while she was in custody this year. Her attorney, Tonda Curry, said last month that she and prosecutors agreed to a deal capping Richardson’s sentence at 18 years. Prosecutors say Richardson faces life in prison for the charge to which she pleaded guilty. Good riddance, beyotch!
Sweet baby Jesus . Jimmy Kimmel is really cementing his place among the late night TV greats with these staged pranks. His latest? A faux freak-out by Julia Louis-Dreyfus! If there was a doubt as to whether or not Julia deserved her place among last weekend’s Emmy winners (for Veep), this effort should put them to rest. In the spirit of viral public meltdowns like Whitney Mongiat or Wendy’s drive-thru guy , Kimmel aired a hilarious video of the star losing her mind. Unlike his epic Twerking fail , he didn’t pass it off as a real thing … but JLD’s rant about the poor coffee shop service would give Elaine Benes pause: Julia Louis-Dreyfus Meltdown
There was no Iron Man or Hulk. No Hawkeye or Thor. Yet Marvel still made its mark on the television world tonight, as Agents of SHIELD premiered to very strong critical reviews. The series appears to possess everything a fan of this universe could demand: There was action (the introduction of Grant, the concluding stand-off with Michael); there was mystery (where was Coulston this whole time? How was he brought back to life? Why is Melinda May hesitant to get into battle?); there was humor ( sounds like someone to make S.H.I.E.L.D. an acronym !). The overall dialogue felt fresh and snappy, which is all we’d ever expect from Joss Whedon, who wrote and directed the pilot. Will that continue now that Whedon has moved on to other projects and will not be in charge of running this series on a weekly basis? That’s a question for another day. For Marvel fans, the episode referenced the “Extremes” technology made famous in Iron Man 3 , giving us an idea of how it will remain loosely connected to the wildly popular movie franchise, while still remaining its own entity. But there’s something here for non-comic fans as well. The mere concept of a group of humans cleaning up after superheroes is intriguing. Even if the show turns out to be a basic procedural disguised as something more, due to its affiliation with Marvel, that’s perfectly okay. Look at NCIS . There’s plenty of room for witty banter and entertainment in a procedural. Will you be sticking around Level 7 to see where this all goes? Are you all aboard the crazy plane? Tina Fey suffered a brief but obvious nipple slip at the 2013 Emmy Awards, sparking an onslaught of Twitter commentary at the acclaimed actress’ expense. If you blinked, or aren’t an eagle-eyed viewer whose goal in life is to see celebrity nipples on screen, you probably missed the wardrobe malfunction. But it happened. Oh, did it ever.
