You know Jon Gosselin has fallen on hard times when he’s looking to his ex-wife Kate for help. Then again, Jon is broke and recently got evicted from his home, so we suppose he had to hit rock bottom sooner or later. Asked about his future career plans in a recent interview with Life & Style, Jon replied: “I would consider appearing on Couples Therapy with Kate. “We’re divorced by why cant we co-parent?” “I was thinking Kate and I could do a televised sit-down with a doctor and work out our differences because our kids are suffering.” Yeah, why can’t they co-parent and totally get a paycheck and warm place to stay for a few weeks? Couples Therapy is a great idea! Well, at least now we know why Jon crashed Kate’s yard sale . If you’re a deadbeat dad who wants to ask his psycho ex-wife to do him a favor, the best place to do it is outside, during the daytime, so as not to get stabbed too many times. Suddenly Kate’s reaction makes a whole lot more sense. Watch Couple’s Therapy online to see how badly Jon made a mess of it his first time around. Kate Gosselin: 31 Photos of a Terrible Mother 1. Perhaps the kids should be used to life without cameras in their faces at all times. Especially considering how petrified Mady and Cara looked when they stopped by the Today Show in January. Jon, of course, is not included in this mini reunion, nor is he pleased about it. “He thinks it is a really bad idea for his kids,” a source tells the tabloid. “Jon feels he has his kids’ best interest at heart.” He can’t do anything about it, however. Insiders confirm that Kate is “not obliged” to tell her ex anything about twins Cara and Mady, 13; and sextuplets, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel, 9. “Everybody is entitled to their opinions,” Kate says of Jon’s many critiques concerning her seemingly self-involved mothering style. “I don’t let it bother me or affect me that much. I’m led by my gut, my heart and doing what I’ve always set out to do as a parent.”
Gwyneth Paltrow stars in the upcoming movie Country Strong . But after this actress’ second child was born, Paltrow said she reached the lowest, weakest point of her life. “I felt like a zombie. I couldn’t access my heart. I couldn’t access my emotions. I couldn’t connect,” Paltrow says in the February issue of Good Housekeeping . Paltrow added that this was the antithesis of what she felt when daughter Apple as born in 2004. “It was terrible, it was the exact opposite of what had happened when Apple was born,” Gwyneth says of welcoming Moses into the world. “With her, I was on cloud nine. I couldn’t believe it wasn’t the same. I just thought it meant I was a terrible mother and a terrible person.” Husband Chris Martin came to his wife four months after their son was born and was the first to mention the term “postpartum depression.” “I thought postpartum depression meant you were sobbing every single day and incapable of looking after a child,” Paltrow says. “But there are different shades of it and depths of it, which is why I think it’s so important for women to talk about it. It was a trying time. I felt like a failure.” The actress says her dark days are over, however, and she’s loving life as a mother. Let’s hope others suffering from this disease can also recognize it and find ways to move on.
Postpartum depression is real: Gwyneth Paltrow had a blissful time during daughter Apple’s first few months of life in summer 2004. Two years later, when son Moses was born, things couldn’t have been more different. The actress found herself living a nightmare. “I felt like a zombie. I couldn’t access my heart. I couldn’t access my emotions. I couldn’t connect,” Paltrow, now 38, says in the February issue of Good Housekeeping. “It was terrible, it was the exact opposite of what had happened when Apple was born. With her, I was on cloud nine. I couldn’t believe it wasn’t the same. I just thought it meant I was a terrible mother and a terrible person.” It was Paltrow’s husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who first thought she might be suffering from postpartum depression. “About four months into it, Chris came to me and said, ‘Something’s wrong. Something’s wrong,’ ” Paltrow recalls. “I kept saying, ‘No, no, I’m fine.’ But Chris identified it, and that sort of burst the bubble.” Paltrow says the hardest part was acknowledging the problem. “I thought postpartum depression meant you were sobbing every single day and incapable of looking after a child,” she explains. “But there are different shades of it and depths of it, which is why I think it’s so important for women to talk about it. It was a trying time. I felt like a failure.” With those dark days long behind her, Paltrow has rebooted her film career – and begun a musical one – with her role in Country Strong. Her husband, supportive as ever, helped her learn guitar for the part – which came as no surprise. “I can depend on him,” Paltrow says. “He makes me laugh. He’s really appreciative of me. You know, he makes me feel special.” Although sometimes, she has to push him a little to talk about his feelings. “I definitely have to coax things out of him when we talk. You know, he’s British, so it’s a different lexicon totally,” Paltrow says. “But you have to communicate. Otherwise there’s no relationship.” Via People
