Hope he enjoyed that wiener because when he gets to jail…nevermind. Charles Nowden, a 48-year old man from Mansfield, Texas, took a trip to the movies that he will never forget. Nowden now faces up to 80 years in prison for passing on a counterfeit $20 bill to buy a hotdog and some popcorn during his trip to the movies. Nowden had another $120 in counterfeit bills with him, which authorities say was part of a series of crimes he has committed over the last 20 years. “Charles Nowden was a career cargo-thief who needed to be brought to justice,” Assistant District Attorney Dawn Ferguson, said in a statement. “The auto theft task force and the district attorney’s office are pleased to see that his lifetime of stealing is over.” Nowden has been convicted, and the judge now has to decide the scope of his punishment. He faces up to life in prison because he has prior convictions and two pending felony theft cases. He will be eligible for parole in 15 years. Nowden claims that the bills were given to him at a local gas station when he got change for a $100 bill. He feels that the pending theft cases from 2007 and an arrest back in July made him a target for authorities seeking to get him on anything. “This has been going on for four years. They would never take me to trial. They were harassing me. They were harassing my family. People I care about wouldn’t come around any more because they were harassing them.” We get that he did something wrong, but 80 years?! And Lindsay Lohan can’t even force her way into jail. The organization has been accused of racism in the past, and doesn’t seem to care about changing this tradition. This week on Twitter, the president said that the idea of assassinating President Obama is “tempting.” Only in Texas would the idea of killing a black man be so pleasing. “Y’all as tempting as it may be, don’t shoot Obama. We need him to go down in history as the WORST president we’ve EVER had! #2012.” Pierce sent her “enticing” tweet right after a man was arresting for firing shots at President Obama and his family. Pierce may be too young to understand that death threats are very real for President Obama and his family. Pierce later said that her excitement over someone shooting President Obama was merely a “joke” and that the ”whole [shooting incident] was stupid.” She then joked even further, saying that shooting President Obama would “only make the situation worse.” The group’s Vice President stood by Pierce’s racism, stating that she made a “positive statement.” Some other members of the UT College Republicans have called for her resignation. Sullivan Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in “Breaking Dawn, Part I” Photo: Summit Entertainment Everyone knew that the premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” would be an emotional journey for fans of the vampire movies, but for some at the midnight premiere last night in New York City, it was a literal journey across the country. “We came all the way from North Dakota to come to a New York premiere of ‘Twilight,’ ” die-hard fan John Myhre said. John wasn’t the only fan who traveled from afar to see the film. Another group of fans came from Texas just to see “Breaking Dawn” at midnight, before everyone else. For one fan, the hype could not properly prepare her for the film, which went beyond what she was expecting. “I thought it was great. It was the best thing ever. It totally exceeded my expectations,” she said. So everyone loved it, but what was the best part? The movie boasts three major moments — the wedding, the honeymoon and the birth — and fans were split on which they loved the most. “The love scene was beautiful. You would love it,” one fan said. Susan Dolan saw similarities to her own life in “Break Dawn.” “Charlie was walking Bella down the aisle. I was like, ‘That’s totally my dad,’ ” she said. Dante Delva went a different route and chose a key scene between Jacob and his pack. “My favorite part of the movie has to be when Jacob stood up to Sam. Even though you have the authority, I have the free will to do whatever I want,” he said. Several fans said that one showing was not nearly enough for them. “I actually have tickets to three more showings, so I’ll be back,” Alanna Foxx said. We all still have one more “Twilight” installment to go, and the Twi-hards will be there to the bitter end. “I am looking forward to see ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2.’ I will be at the midnight premiere again,” Carla Suarez said.
