Fawking ridiculous…SMH Last December, Williams was driving a 2010 Honda CRV on U.S. Highway 385 near Amarillo with her grown son and two grandchildren in the car. Investigators said the Honda drifted into the oncoming lane of traffic, colliding with a 2003 GMC Yukon driven by an Amarillo man. The man’s wife, Brianna “Brie” Gomez, 30, was a passenger in the SUV. Gomez was flown to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, where an emergency cesarean section was performed. Gomez was pronounced dead after her baby boy was delivered. The premature infant, Curran Blaec Gomez, weighed just 3 pounds at birth. He survived. He now weighs about 18 pounds. Williams’ son, Todd Williams, and his 3-year-old son were ejected from the vehicle. They were seriously injured. “While on scene Suzanne (Williams) told me that no one had been ejected from her vehicle and that everyone was extracted from the vehicle by rescue … Suzanne failed to inform me of the truth of the events that had taken place before anyone arrived on scene,” a state trooper said in an offense report obtained by the Amarillo Globe-News newspaper. Investigators determined that Williams picked up her 3-year-old grandson from the highway and placed him in a child safety seat inside her car before emergency help arrived. “All of the facts and circumstances were covered, and the grand jury determined no charges were to be brought,” said District Attorney David Green. Green told the newspaper the facts did not add up to criminal negligence. Not only were no charges brought up, but the “fine” that Senator Williams paid was a slap in the face to the victims family. A prosecutor says the Colorado state senator involved in a crash that killed a pregnant woman in the Texas Panhandle last year has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of driving on the wrong side of the road. Sen. Suzanne Williams paid a $200 fine and $68 in court costs, according to Hartley County Attorney Shane Turner. The Amarillo Globe-News reported Friday that Texas law allowed for the dismissal of two seat-belt citations against Williams. When 7NEWS contacted her at her home on Friday night, Williams did not wish to comment. “The case is over, that is not something I want to talk about,” Williams said. It was almost a foregone conclusion, but former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has announced, officially, that she will not enter the 2012 presidential race. Palin’s announcement comes one day after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie affirmed his decision not to jump in despite Republican leaders urging him to. No leaders really wanted Palin to, but she’s like a celebrity now, so the media still pays attention to her. Here’s what she told supporters in a letter: “I believe I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to congressional seats and the presidency.” “I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for president where candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic development of conventional energy sources, along with renewables.” “We must reduce tax burdens and onerous regulations that kill American industry, and our candidates must always push to minimize government to strengthen and allow the private sector to create jobs.” “I apologize to those who are disappointed in this decision.” Anyone? Palin told Fox News she chose to send a letter over holding a press conference because she wanted to “put the marker down and say ‘no I’m not running.'” Republicans have been searching for an alternative to the polished, but less than inspiring former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for the entire year. Many have been disappointed by Texas Gov. Rick Perry and have given a second look to Georgia businessman Herman Cain , who is surging in polls. By Gil Kaufman Nicole Alvarez Photo: Pool/ Getty Images Prosecutors in the involuntary manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson ‘s physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, called one of the cardiologist’s girlfriends to the stand Tuesday (October 4) in an attempt to nail down what Murray was doing as his famous client was dying of cardiac arrest. Houston, Texas, steakhouse waitress Sade Anding told the jury that six minutes into a phone call with Murray on June 25, 2009, Murray suddenly disappeared as she was telling him about her day. “I realized he was no longer on the phone,” she said of the call that took place less than a half-hour before Murray placed a frantic call to Jackson’s assistant asking for help. At one point, she described hearing coughing, mumbling and other voices on Murray’s end, as if his phone was in his pocket. The call was one of a half-dozen that phone records show Murray made during a crucial time when prosecutors say he should have been monitoring Jackson’s vital signs closely.
