Jimmy Kimmel to Host White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

The White House Correspondents’ Association has a found a host for its 98th annual dinner next April 28, and it should be a good one: Jimmy Kimmel. “I look forward to being a part of the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner,” the host of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live said. “I love dinner.” Attended by the President and First Lady, other senior government officials, members of the press corps and Hollywood A-listers, the event offers a rare chance to let loose in the buttoned-up, polarized and combative world of politics. Case in point: Here’s President Obama’s speech at this year’s: President Obama at White House Correspondents’ Dinner It’s not all for fun and laughs – it’s for a very good cause, too. Proceeds from the dinner go toward scholarships and awards aimed at supporting aspiring journalists and recognizing excellence in the profession. “Jimmy’s humor is sophisticated and edgy while appealing to a wide audience,” said Reuters journalist Caren Bohan, president of the WHCA. “We are so thrilled that Jimmy has accepted our invitation to be the featured comedian at our annual dinner.” Seth Meyers was the MC at the 2011 event.

Ashton Kutcher Accepts Award, Is Doing Okay

With infidelity and divorce rumors swirling around him , Ashton Kutcher attended the GQ Gentleman’s Ball in New York City last night, taking the stage to be honored for the anti-child prostitution charity he founded with wife Demi Moore. She did not join him at the event. Instead, Rabbi Philip Berg, Kutcher’s spiritual mentor and the Dean of the worldwide Kabbalah Centre organization, was by the actor’s side. “Our global issues are getting tougher,” Kutcher said during his speech. “A lot of the things we’re doing we can’t talk about, but I can promise you we’re fighting and we’re going to make a change, so that’s a little about what I’m working on.” Following these words, the Two and a Half Men star returned to his seat and was asked by radio personality Craig Schwartz how everything was going. “I am doing okay, thanks,” Kutcher reportedly replied. “Thank you for caring. Thank you for caring, really. It means a lot.” Moore visited her husband on his sitcom’s set last week, spurring talk that they may be trying to work things out. [Photo: WENN.com]

‘Paranormal Activity 3’: 10 Secrets Revealed

Directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman tease some things to look out for in the horror threequel. By Eric Ditzian “Paranormal Activity 3” Photo: Paramount Pictures Last October, on the day “Paranormal Activity 2” hit theaters, director Tod Williams stopped by the MTV Newsroom to reveal five secrets about the horror sequel — everything from the best way to break a person’s leg to why the baby in the film is possibly the greatest actor in all of Hollywood. Another year, another “PA” flick — and even more secrets revealed. The morning after a raucous screening in New York City, “Paranormal Activity 3” directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman paid us a visit and gave up the goods. Read on for 10 “Paranormal” secrets, then check back on Monday for their answers to a ton of our burning questions — queries that were simply too spoiler-filled to reveal before fans have had a chance to see the film for themselves (be aware, though, that there are mild spoilers below) . The Fan Camera A key issue in any found-footage movie is finding creative ways for characters to film the action. That issue becomes especially thorny three pictures into a franchise. How do you keep things fresh in a “Paranormal” flick, a series that largely confines each story to one house, the demon-haunting action captured with camcorders set up in various rooms? Joost and Schulman, along with screenwriter Christopher B. Landon, came up with a new technique that opens up an entirely new way of viewing events that is at once simple and totally scare-inducing: a camera mounted on the base of a swiveling fan. The idea was one Joost and Schulman used when they first discussed the gig with Paramount. “It’s like, ‘How would we do it if there were a ghost in our office and we only had one camera? How would we capture the whole thing?’ ” explained Joost. “We were like, ‘Would we put it on a model train and have it go around the house?’ We would put up mirrors to see stuff, or this fan idea. It turned out Chris Landon, the writer of the movie, had basically the same idea, independently of us. So when we got together for this first time, it was like, ‘Oh great, you want to do that too!’ ” The Sex Tape For “PA3,” it wasn’t just about new ways of capturing the action, but of new action to capture. That’s why you’ll see the making of the first-ever sex tape in the new “Paranormal,” one between the two central adults in the film, mother Julie (Lauren Bittner) and live-in boyfriend Dennis (Christopher Nicholas Smith). “The president of Paramount [Adam Goodman] was like, ‘I want to do a sex tape this time,’ ” Schulman said. “They always tease it in the ‘Paranormal’ movies, and at this point, everyone’s inclined to think they’re not going to do it. [Dennis] is going to ask her to film it and she’s going to say no and they’re going to turn the camera off, or she’ll say yes and they’ll turn it off right away. [Goodman] was like, ‘I want to take it there.’ It gets pretty uncomfortable. It’s like a real sex tape, which is awkward.” The Filmmaker Cameos Though they spent the great majority of their time behind the scenes, Joost and Schulman actually make cameos in the film — though you’d never be able to tell unless they hadn’t revealed the secret to us. Without diving too much into spoilers, let’s just say that at one point you see what might be a young girl or a demon hiding under a white sheet — that old clich

Reese Witherspoon Wants to Make Out with Jennifer Aniston

We realize she’s (probably) just joking, but the mental image of these two as les-be- Friends is so bonerrific, we just had to share. Reese Witherspoon presented her gal pal Jennifer Aniston with an award at the Elle Women in Hollywood gala this week, and at the event Reese recalled her excitement at being cast as Jill on Friends : “I would not stop watching Friends. They were my friends and there was no taking me away from my friends.” But once she was actually on set, stage fright took over until Jennifer Aniston took her aside and helped her get it together for the live studio audience. The two became (real-life) friends, and Reese has nothing but glowing (or growing , eh fellas?) things to say about Jennifer: “There are not that many people actually who have this incredible combination of sex appeal and complete lovability,” Reese said. “You just want to get your nails done with her and you want to make out with her—at least I do.” “And that’s what we do sometimes on Saturdays. First we get our nails done—so cute!—and then we make out. It’s totally awesome.” If only! How about some photographic evidence, ladies? Members can see Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon nude on MrSkin.com- the rest we’ll leave up to your imagination.

Rihanna Experiences Love, Loss In ‘We Found Love’ Video

Despite song’s sunny vibe, clip is a dark look at love and substance abuse. By Jocelyn Vena Rihanna on the set of her “We Found Love” video Photo: PUSHfotografik.com/Splash News Remember how that Irish farmer got mad at Rihanna for what he deemed her “inappropriate state of undress” on the set of the “We Found Love” video ? Well, on Wednesday (October 19), fans got to see what all the fuss was about when the singer officially released the clip. Directed by Melina Matsoukas (“Hard,” “S&M,” “Rude Boy” and “Rockstar 101”), the video features British model/boxer Dudley O’Shaughnessy as Rihanna’s green-eyed love interest. The smoldering couple make their way through Belfast, Ireland, experiencing the ups and downs of love. Despite the song’s feel-good, sunny vibe, the video is a dark look at love and substance abuse. The mini-movie opens with a voice that sounds somewhat like Rihanna doing a cockney accent saying, “I saw you screaming and no one can hear. You almost feel ashamed that someone could be that important that without them, you feel like nothing. No one will ever understand how much it hurts. You feel hopeless, like nothing can save you. Then when it’s over, and it’s gone, you almost wish you could have all that bad stuff back, so that you could have the good.” The speech certainly foreshadows the events of the video. Perhaps inspired by films like “Trainspotting” and “Requiem for a Dream,” Rihanna and Dudley play gutter punks who are not only addicted to each other, but also drugs and partying. The video is a montage of their love affair: a dizzying mix of sweet, tender moments, sexier, naked moments and moments where both Ri and Dudley are too messed up to care much about anything but the feeling of being high, often leading to fighting. They skate, they kiss, he watches as Rihanna frolics topless in a field, they party. All the good is bookended by fights (one notably in a car) and drug-fueled benders. And, in the end, all of it becomes too much for the couple and the frustrations and pressures of their love affair begin to become more about the rush than the actual love. In the end, they can’t handle each other, and Rihanna walks out, leaving Dudley passed out on the ground barely able to do anything to win her back. Buzzworthy Finds References Aplenty In ‘We Found Love’ > > > The track, produced by Calvin Harris , is the lead single from her highly anticipated November 21 release, Talk That Talk, the follow-up to 2010’s Loud. The video is vaguely reminiscent of Rihanna’s own recollections about her past abusive relationships. In a 2009 interview with MTV News , Rihanna opened up about her choice to always be honest with her fans. “One of the big things for me, I always want to help young women and give them insight into life experiences,” she explained. “One of those things is going through an abusive relationship like I did. But that’s one thing for me. So I don’t want to be the big domestic-violence spokesperson, because that doesn’t define who I am. But if I can help young women in any way, and that being one of the things they need help with, then I’ll do that.” What do you think of Rihanna’s new video? Share your reviews in the comments! Zachary Quinto Announces He’s A ‘Gay Man’

‘Star Trek’ actor had dodged rumors before making revelation in New York magazine. By Gil Kaufman Zachary Quinto Photo: Alberto E. Rodriguez/ Getty Images For years, “Star Trek” actor Zachary Quinto dodged questions about his sexuality, preferring to keeping his private life private and let his work on TV shows such as “Heroes” and movies like the recent “What’s Your Number” do the talking. Then, unexpectedly, he offhandedly outed himself in an interview with New York magazine, while discussing his starring role last year in the restaging of the early AIDS-era drama “Angels in America.” Quinto told the magazine that his eight-month role in the epic Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Tony Kushner was “the most challenging thing I’ve ever done as an actor and the most rewarding”; he took on the grueling role of Louis Ironson, a character who walks out on his AIDS-stricken boyfriend. “And at the same time, as a gay man, it made me feel like there’s still so much work to be done, and there’s still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed.” Quinto, who has been outspoken on gay rights issues in the past, told The New York Times last year that even though blogs were full of speculation about his orientation, he preferred “not to feed the rumor mill with either substantiation or dismissal.” But the events of the past year appear to have had an impact on him and Quinto seemed comfortable at this point announcing his orientation. Thinking about how the last few months have seen gay marriage legalized in New York while also marking the recent suicide of bullied gay teen Jamey Rodemeyer , Quinto said, “And again, as a gay man I look at that and say there’s a hopelessness that surrounds it, but as a human being I look at it and say ‘Why? Where’s this disparity coming from, and why can’t we as a culture and society dig deeper to examine that?’ We’re terrified of facing ourselves.” He was also glad to be in town promoting the financial crisis thriller “Margin Call” — the first feature from his production company, Before the Door Pictures — while hundreds of Occupy Wall Street protesters are camped out in New York’s Zuccotti Park . “The timing couldn’t be more impeccable for us to try to create a dialogue, which is exactly why we made the movie in the first place,” he said. While he’s in town to promote the film, Quinto said he planned to go down and see the protesters to get a flavor of the sit-in. “As a left-leaning Democrat, I feel a sense of resonance with their position,” he said. “But as a citizen of this country, I feel deeply unsettled that people are rising up in movements against each other. It feels like we’re missing the mark. … The bottom line is we’re all f—ed, and we’re all in this together.”

Taylor Swift Reveals Wonderstruck Perfume Inspiration

Scent’s name comes from her song ‘Enchanted,’ singer tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Taylor Swift at the launch of her new perfume in New York City Photo: Getty Images NEW YORK — Taylor Swift took over Manhattan on Thursday for the launch of her first-ever perfume, Wonderstruck. In addition to a number of television appearances, the singer also made an appearance at Macy’s to introduce the world to her fragrance. Like Swift, the perfume is sweet and sparkling. And her devoted fans swarmed the famed New York department store to buy a bottle as well as to try to meet and greet the star, who arrived at the event in a sequined dress befitting of Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” “You know, for me, the feeling of being wonderstruck, it’s an excitement of something new,” she told MTV News at the event while hordes of screaming fans shouted. “And lately, for me, that’s been being on tour and having all special guests come out and doing performances and surprising the audience. That’s been one of my favorite things of the entire year.” Swift is, of course, referring to the duets she’s been doing during her Speak Now tour . So far, she’s shared the stage with everyone from Nicki Minaj to Hayley Williams to Justin Bieber, not allowing genre to define her as she performs alongside her pals. While these days she’s been inspired by her live performances, it was one of her own songs that influenced the name she chose for the perfume. “I wrote the lyric, ‘I’m wonderstruck, blushing all the way home’ for the song ‘Enchanted,’ about the first time you meet someone,” she said. “A fragrance can help shape someone’s first impression and memory of you, and it’s exciting to think that Wonderstruck will play a role in creating some of those memories.” Related Photos Taylor Swift Launches Wonderstruck Perfume Related Artists Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift, Jessica Biel and David Beckham are also teamed up with teen humanitarians for TeenNick’s November 6 awards show. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: Nickelodeon The TeenNick HALO Awards are weeks away from kicking off, but the celebrities involved are already spreading the word. In a new PSA for the event, airing November 6, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift , David Beckham and Jessica Biel have joined forces to help spread the word about the show. “Anti-bullying became something that I am now very passionate about,” Lady Gaga said in a statement about being involved with the show. “I was bullied in school, and for a very long time, I kept those feelings inside. Today, I feel grateful and happy that I was able to get through these struggles and have friends, family and people around that inspired me — people like Emily-Anne.” Emily-Anne Rigal, 17, has been paired with Gaga thanks to her work to help stop bullying. She started the WeStopHate.org website, helping to shed light on the cause. Swift will be paired with 19-year-old James O’Dwyer, who started the Magnolia Disaster Relief, an aid program that aims to offer relief to rural areas hit by tornadoes. “I think James and I have a lot in common, and I’m really glad I got to meet and surprise him at my concert,” Swift said. “Judging from the things he’s been able to accomplish, he’s one of those people who does the work without looking for or taking any of the credit. “What really impressed me about James is how he stepped up to the line as soon as he heard that people were in trouble,” she continued. “He saw first-hand how their lives had been destroyed and instead of getting frozen in that moment, he posted a message on Facebook to rally anyone who could bring supplies and food to those who lost their homes in tornados.” Meanwhile, Biel is paired with Shanoah Washington, an 18-year-old who created the Sista2Sista program, which aims to motivate young women. Finally, Beckham was paired with Kyle Weiss, 18, who started the organization FUNDaFIELD, which builds soccer fields in Africa. The show will be hosted by Nick Cannon.
