Jerry Seinfeld Bails on Charity Event; Donald Trump Goes OFF on Comedian

Donald Trump is not a big fan of Jerry Seinfeld after the comedian reportedly pulled out from an event appearance for the Donald’s son’s charity. Seinfeld was scheduled to attend a September 13 event for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Eric Trump Foundation, but he canceled. According to reports, Jerry bailed based on Trump’s remarks about President Obama , which didn’t sit well with The Donald for a variety of reasons. “I just learned you canceled a show for my son’s charity,” Donald Trump wrote to Seinfeld in an open letter, accusing him of backing out simply: “Because of the fact that I am being very aggressive with respect to President Obama, who is doing an absolutely terrible job as our leader.” Trump, who is considering a 2012 presidential run, didn’t stop there. “We don’t care that you broke your commitment,” he continued, “Even though the children of St. Jude are very disappointed, and despite the fact that your manager previously and clearly stated you are ‘truly a man of his word.'” Trump then took a shot at Seinfeld’s NBC show, The Marriage Ref . “What I do feel badly about is that I agreed to do, and did, your failed show, ‘The Marriage Ref,’ even though I thought it was absolutely terrible.” “Despite its poor ratings, I didn’t cancel on you like you canceled on my son and St. Jude. I only wish I did.” A rep for Seinfeld said he agreed to appear at the event before Trump began questioning the authenticity of Obama’s birth certificate. However, “Jerry has grown increasingly uncomfortable” with the Apprentice head honcho. “Jerry … feels this kind of demagoguery has no place in public discourse,” said the rep. “He has respectfully withdrawn from the event, but is making a contribution both to the Eric Trump Foundation and to [St. Jude].” Bret Micheals is slated to fill Seinfeld’s place, the rocker said in a statement. “Donald Trump and his family have been wonderful to me and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital is one of my favorite charities, so I’m honored to have been asked by Eric and the rest of the Trump family to be a part of this event,” he said. “We should never allow the spirit of generosity to be overshadowed by divisive political beliefs,” Bret added in a dig at Seinfeld, “and when it comes to saving the life of a child, there is absolutely no room for political rhetoric.”

Chiddy Bang MC Rests Up For Record-Breaking Rap At O Music Awards

‘I just gotta get a good night’s rest, eat a healthy breakfast,’ Chidera ‘Chiddy’ Anamege tells MTV News. By Rob Markman Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege Photo: MTV News MTV’s first digital awards show, the O Music Awards , is shaping up to be quite the event. Just ask rapper Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege. The MC, who is one-half of the Philly-based rap group Chiddy Bang, will attempt to secure the Guinness World Records title for “Longest Freestyle Rap” in conjunction with the online broadcast. The current record is for nine hours, 15 minutes and 15 seconds and is held by a rapper named M-Eighty out of Indianapolis. Chiddy has never timed himself while rapping, but he remains confident. “I just gotta get a good night’s rest, eat a healthy breakfast,” he said. “The rest should just be history. We’re just gonna try to make it and break it at the same time.” Xaphoon Jones, the group’s other member and producer, will provide the beats for his partner to rhyme to. “We’re just gonna basically have, like, two hours worth of instrumentals that my boy Xaph made,” said Chiddy, who will then put that custom-made playlist on a continuous loop. The rapper also hopes to get an assist from his fans via Twitter, who can send the MC topics to rhyme about using the hashtag #RapWorldRecord. “I will need the help from the fans, anybody that supports me on Twitter, or just supports the group in general, send some topics in,” Chiddy said. “As the freestyle is going on, people can be able to send topics through. That will definitely help a great deal as long as there is a steady stream of things to draw from.” The inaugural OMAs will stream live from Las Vegas at 11 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m. PT Thursday on OMusicAwards.com . ‘American Idol’ Producer Hints At Giving Judges A Vote

Executive Producer Ken Warwick also says Pia Toscano may have an album out before this season’s winner. By Gil Kaufman “American Idol” producer Ken Warwick Photo: MTV News “American Idol” has a problem. No, it’s not the fact that it’s getting increasingly hard for a woman to win on the show. It’s the good kind of problem, one where recently booted contestant Pia Toscano is getting the kind of media attention — and high-profile bookings — that are usually reserved for the show’s winner. Which is why in a call with reporters on Wednesday (April 20), “Idol” Executive Producer Ken Warwick suggested that in a break with the past, it’s not out of the question that we will see music from Toscano well before the eventual season 10 champion releases his or her debut in November. He also revealed that while he won’t be tweaking the formula this year, it’s possible there could be more big changes in store for “Idol” in the future, including taking a cue from ratings rival “Dancing With the Stars.” “That’s the nature of the business,” Warwick said of the desire to strike while the iron is hot. “If we’ve got a rising star that the record companies and [‘Idol’ parent company] CKX think are marketable now, they will try to get records out.” Warwick pledged that under the tutelage of record-industry veteran and season 10 mentor Jimmy Iovine, the rule this year is to make a star out of the singers no matter when they leave the competition. And while he doesn’t know what Iovine’s plans are for Toscano at the moment, he said if he were a record honcho instead of TV producer, he’d want to get some music out while the buzz on Toscano is still strong. “It used to be in the old days, that was a concern of ours,” he said of cannibalizing the buzz on the eventual winner by releasing music from other finalists earlier on. “As time’s gone on, we realized what we’re seeing so often is that the big star is not the winner, but from the top five or top 10, so it’s unfair to hold someone back so we can promote someone else.” With so much talk about how online voting has continued the trend toward young-girl “Idol” watchers pushing male singers to the top while female ones get booted early, Warwick said producers will have a “long discussion” about that situation after this season and see if any tweaks need to be made to correct that trend. Among the potential changes is taking a page from the “DWTS” book and letting judges have a vote alongside the audience. “We are going to have discussion about how we can keep it fair,” he said, adding later about the possibility of a judge’s vote, “That’s just one of the ideas … solutions on the table. There are a number.” For this season, though, the current system will remain in place. “If people want to vote for kids, then I’m certainly not going to start fiddling with the votes or doing anything that’s untoward,” he said, adding to the chorus of laments about Toscano’s early exit. “Maybe change the voting system slightly next year. Maybe we limit the amount of SMS votes or online votes.” Warwick also responded to the upcoming competition from “The Voice” and ex-“Idol” judge Simon Cowell’s fall launch of the American version of “X Factor” by noting that there are a slew of shows with three-judge panels and he can’t be bothered to worry about the other shows on the horizon. “I’m not worried. I’m sure the premiere of one will dent us a little bit. … I’m not about to change anything radically to try and keep up with something I haven’t seen yet and hasn’t been proven.” With a lackluster track record of breaking male stars, Warwick said his job is to make the show, and then, hopefully at the end of it, hand the record company a singer with a 20 million- to 30 million-person following. “What they do from then on has absolutely nothing to do with me,” he said. But have there been mistakes made in the past with the marketing or positioning of some of the male winners? Yes, Warwick said, most definitely. Has the best singer always won, no, not necessarily. “What it illustrates for me is that from the top five upwards, there’s usually a star in there somewhere; it just is a question of luck, who picks them up, where they go, what song they release.” So while not every “Idol” winner is a star, lots of “Idol” contestants have become stars. “It doesn’t bother me this year if another guy [wins]. … I am pretty sure that whoever comes out of this series is gonna break,” he said, giving props to Interscope Geffen A&M chairman Iovine’s skills at minting stars. Jesus Take The Wheel: Child-Molesting Former Bishop Describes Sexual Abuse As “A Little Game”

This sick f*ck thinks fondling little boys — his own nephews at that– is some kind of game! A Belgian Bishop who resigned last year after his shocking child abuse scandal was revealed, doesn’t seem to feel the least bit of shame about what he’s done. In addition to writing a tell-all, the perverted priest recently appeared in a televised interview where he made light of the abuse. A former bishop’s televised admission that he sexually abused two of his nephews caused an uproar in Belgium on Friday, with the prime minister, senior clergy and a prosecutor expressing shock at the way the ex-prelate made light of his offenses. In an interview that aired Thursday Roger Vangheluwe, the former bishop of Bruges, spoke of his sexual abuse as “a little game,” that involved fondling, but no “rough sex.” “I was never naked” and the abuse was never about “real sexuality,” said Vangheluwe, 74. He resigned as bishop in 2010 after admitting he had abused one of his nephews for 13 years – until the boy was 18. In the TV interview aired Thursday, he revealed that he had abused a second nephew “a few times, a couple of times, not for years.” Vangheluwe apologized for the pain he had caused, but denied being a pedophile. “I never felt the least attraction to a child,” he said. “And I still don’t. From me toward him (the nephew) there was a bit of intimacy that occurred each time we saw one another. And of which we later said, ‘That’s not right.’” The abuse occurred at sleep-over family gatherings, Vangheluwe said. Bruges Prosecutor Jean-Marie Berkvens said Friday the abuse of the second nephew lasted for two years. The victim was younger than 8 at the time. Both cases occurred too long ago to be prosecuted. Berkvens said he was “shocked” by how Vangheluwe “treats everything as if it were a trifle. I can assure you it was not.” Vangheluwe complained in the hour-long interview that the church was targeted by abuse probes, while other sectors, like sports organizations, were let off too easily. “Why is it different for priests than for other situations? Why should the church pay compensation and there is no compensation in other professions?” he asked. “The church should not be pushed in a special corner.” The interview took place in a wooded Catholic retreat in Ferte-Imbault in central France, where Vangheluwe has been sent by the Vatican. Throughout the interview, he sat relaxed, sometimes smiling and at times shrugging his shoulders as if to signal that the events he spoke of were not very serious. This dude can’t be serious… Source

The Jay-Z Vs DMX 1990s Battle In The Bronx Revisited

Go here to read the rest:

In the early-mid 1990s, in a smoky pool hall in the Bronx, NY, Jay-Z and DMX went toe to toe in a war of words.  Details about the legendary hip-hop battle are scarce, and those who were there admit that their memories of the event have faded a bit. HipHopDX spoke to three people who were at the battle: Ski Beatz , Sauce Money, and Ruff Ryders co-founder Waah Dean.  The three men, to the best of their ability, gave an inside look into a battle of two of the 90s greatest emcees. Waah Dean: We did [the battle] on neutral grounds. Instead of doing it in Brooklyn or Yonkers, we did it in the Bronx. Ski Beatz: When I rolled up, I was with Dame Dash , Tone Hooker, Jay-Z, and I think some of Dame’s people from Harlem—his crew called The Best Out. That was the name of his crew, from Harlem. I think Dame set [the battle] up. It was like a Brooklyn-Uptown/Harlem kind of thing. So we all met at the pool hall, in the Bronx. Waah Dean: We heard some things about Jay-Z from Brooklyn, and from Dame, and we’d bump heads with their people every now and again. The word was out that we had these guys that was doing similar things—traveling to different areas and [battling]—so we knew in a matter of time we was gonna be in a place where somebody was gonna make the phone call, and say, ‘Yeah, we got this guy standing here, and they all wanna be here…’ and that happened. So we knew what was up. We didn’t really look for anybody, we just dealt with the situation as it was there. We knew [DMX] was one of the best, one of the greatest, so we wasn’t worried about no artist coming after him. Sauce Money: Everybody who battled, I think it was myself, there might’ve been a girl—we had a girl, her name was Roughness—and T-Strong, and Jay. We had to get on top of the pool tables, so whoever’s battling, they’re standing on the pool table, going at it. Waah Dean: There was no room in the building to stand at, so the only way to do it was to stand on the pool tables so everybody could see. Sauce Money: The pool table was like a boxing ring. We were standing on opposite sides of the pool table going back-and-forth. While we were rapping, n*ggas were pulling out guns—all kinds of crazy sh*t. Ski Beatz: People came in there strapped; people from the Bronx had guns, and people from Harlem had guns. Luckily it didn’t go down like that, but the atmosphere was Hip Hop, [and] at the same time, it was gangsta. Read the rest of article at HipHopDX !
