Denise Richards Expresses Concern Over Charlie Sheen

It’s not easy being the mother two children whose father makes news every other week for going on porn-star themed benders . But such is the life of Denise Richards, who spoke to Access Hollywood yesterday about Charlie Sheen and his recent antics. “I think a lot of people are concerned about Charlie… what becomes difficult is things become so public. I try my best to keep that quiet from our daughters because, you know, this is something I’ve never dealt with in my life until this situation.” Sheen and Richards have two daughters together. The bad actress says her “main priority” is to keep their father’s scandalous behavior away from the kids, but that was made difficult in October when the actor flipped out on Capri Anderson – inside a hotel room that was across the hall from his children. “When we went to New York, that was our intention: to have a nice time with the girls,” Denise said. “I thought it was great that we could all travel together and go out to dinner and do things even though we’re not together anymore. The events that took place after that, you know, it was… difficult.”

Colin Farrell Talks Doing ‘Tricky’ Russian Accent For ‘Way Back’

Irish A-lister tells MTV News he tried to capture the ‘beautiful’ and ‘hard’ language for upcoming World War II prison drama. By Kara Warner Colin Farrell Photo: MTV News Colin Farrell plays an intimidating Russian prisoner in the World War II drama “The Way Back,” about a group of inmates who escape the Siberian Gulag and must walk more than 4,000 miles to freedom. We caught up with the Irish actor recently and we talked about how he tackles foreign accents and other languages for roles like his “Way Back” character, Valka. “Accents are tricky sometimes, all the time, potentially,” Farrell admitted to MTV News. “They either keep you away or they bring you in. They’re either a conduit into a character or they’re a fence that keeps you at a distance that you don’t want to be,” he said. Farrell explained that he worked with a dialect coach and read Russian poetry to get a feel for the language, which eventually began to flow rather naturally for him. “It really just initially and unconsciously started affecting the way I moved or sat or [my] facial expressions and just feeling those sounds in my mouth,” he said. “Russian to me, to my ignorant ears is an incredibly evocative language and accent, even. If a Russian is speaking English, it’s an incredibly evocative sound that’s committed each time a Russian opens their mouth.” The “Way Back” actor said he essentially fell in love with the language. “It’s beautiful and it’s hard. There’s a sense of hardship, and I say that with absolute humility and lack of judgment,” he said. “It’s a beautiful language and it gave me my version of it in the film, wherever I got to in the journey of getting there, brought me as close to the character as any other bit of research or any other contemplation of his background.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Sundance 2011 Preview: Tobey Maguire, Paul Rudd, Demi Moore And More!

MTV Movies team will be on the ground in Park City, Utah, to bring you the latest from the snowy film fest! By Eric Ditzian Tobey Maguire and Elizabeth Banks in “The Details” Photo: Ergo Films By the time you read this, the MTV Movies team will be hurtling about 550 miles per hour through the sky on our way to the 2011 Sundance Film Festival . We can’t get there soon enough. It’s been 12 months since we last trekked up and down Main Street in Park City, Utah, bringing you interviews with top talent like Kristen Stewart and Ryan Reynolds, reviews of the most anticipated premieres, and the inside scoop on parties, swag suites and more. And now, it’s about to happen all over again. Starting Thursday evening (January 20) and continuing well into next week, MTV News will be your go-to spot for the latest news coming out of Sundance. Keep checking back for everything there is to know about the festival — and, man, is there a lot to know. Paul Rudd will be sweeping into town to premiere “My Idiot Brother,” his upcoming comedy co-starring Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer. Ed Helms has a comedy too; he stars in “Cedar Rapids” opposite John C. Reilly and Anne Heche. And, well, what are we to make of “The Details,” which stars Tobey Maguire, Banks and Laura Linney? Check out its plot description: “When hungry raccoons discover worms living under the sod in a young couple’s backyard, the pest problem sets off a wild and absurd chain reaction of domestic tension, infidelity, organ donation and murder by way of bow and arrow.” Yep, that one is most definitely high on our list of must-sees. Also exciting is “Margin Call,” a drama set during the 2008 financial crisis starring a killer collection of Hollywood talent: Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons, Demi Moore and Stanley Tucci. Two music-focused premieres have also caught our eye. Adam Yauch has directed “Fight for Your Right Revisited,” a short film that takes place after the events of that classic 1987 Beastie Boys video and which stars Seth Rogen, Danny McBride and Elijah Wood. Additionally, Michael Rapaport is presenting “Beats, Rhymes and Life,” a documentary about the “rise and influence” of A Tribe Called Quest. It’s going to be another great year. By festival’s end, we’ll be exhausted from lack of sleep, weary-eyed from far too many screenings, and sore from hiking up and down Main Street in the freezing cold. But you know what? We’ll be psyched to do it all over again in 2012. For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Mick Jagger And Sting Repping The Roc? Johnny Nunez Made It Happen

Hip-hop photographer recalls persuading rock-star duo and film mogul Harvey Weinstein to flash the Roc diamond, in Mixtape Daily. By Jayson Rodriguez Johnny Nunez Photo: MTV News Celebrity Favorites: Johnny Nunez In the playbook for rap stardom, few things are as essential as being photographed by Johnny Nunez. The New York photog has snapped some of the most iconic images in hip-hop, from Jay-Z and Nas sharing a champagne toast to Mick Jagger, Sting and movie mogul Harvey Weinstein each flashing the Roc diamond in a picture together. For the latter, Nunez exhibited his trademark charm to pull off the feat (anyone in New York City social circles can attest to this), but he endured a hostile environment in the process. Nunez has been reflecting on his career lately, with both a documentary on his life (“Shooting Stars”) previewing on the festival circuit and a New Era cap collaboration (to benefit the Eye Can Foundation for the blind). “A client of mine’s friend said [to him], ‘Why did you bring a photographer?’ ” Nunez told Mixtape Daily about snapping the Jagger, Sting and Weinstein pic that paid homage to Roc-A-Fella Records. “I looked back, and all I saw was all these ice grills [looking at me]. So I thought, ‘Wow, what am I gonna do?’ ” The event was a Vanity Fair party overseas, and Nunez had accompanied Damon Dash — he worked as the hip-hop mogul’s personal photographer — and his entourage. Nunez saw the three powerhouse celebrities together in the distance and put his hustle to work. “I said, ‘Excuse me, could I get a photo?’ And I heard the other photographers: ‘What is he doing?’ ” Nunez recalled. “I could feel the security guards wanting to yank me.” Sting agreed, and Nunez asked the singer if he could put his hands together in the diamond symbol made popular by Jay-Z as recognition of his and Dash’s label, Roc-A-Fella. Sting obliged but asked what the gesture meant. “It’s a universal symbol of love,” Nunez shot back. Weinsten also agreed to toss up the Roc. The Rolling Stones frontman hesitated, but Sting nudged his peer and soon all three cooperated. “I went back to the same guys [who were hating on me], and they said, ‘That’s what I’m talking about,’ ” Nunez recalled. “The moral of that story is, I try to do things at that very moment that either have never been done before or aren’t generic,” he added. “I try to be organic.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . Justin Bieber and Angelina Jolie: Say Cheeeese!

Millions of women would kill just to stand next to Justin Bieber . Sadly, scarily, we’re not really exaggerating. But don’t put Angelina Jolie in that group. The actress posed alongside Justin on the red carpet of Sunday’s Golden Globes, much to her chagrin, apparently. A friend of Justin’s named “jonmchu” posted the following TwitPic yesterday, claiming it was snapped when Bieber met Jolie on the red carpet. But we question its legitimacy. After all, how can any female stand next to this 16-year old and maintain her composure in such a manner?!? Justin didn’t mind the snub. At the event, he Tweeted: “Backstage at the Golden Globes. Everyone is here. This is nuts!!”

Paz de la Huerta at Golden Globes After-Party: Denied!

It was a big night for Boardwalk Empire at the Golden Globes, as star Steve Buscemi took home the award for Best Actor and the series won Best Drama. In celebration, actress Paz de la Huerta – who portrays Lucy Danziger on the HBO hit – had a drink or two dozen at the event. She then tried to enter an after-party at the Chateau Marmont, only to be denied access. For what reason? It may have had something to do with her inability to stand, as evidenced in the video below.
