It’s been over a week since Demi Lovato suffered an overdose that nearly claimed her life, but we still know very little about the events that precipitated the near-tragedy. Lovato remains hospitalized and has remained under doctors’ care for much longer than expected, leading many to the conclusion that she came even closer to death than originally thought. While we know that Lovato was administered Narcan at the scene of the OD — a move that may well have saved the 25-year-old’s life — it’s still unclear what sort of drugs she was using. At first, it was reported that Demi had been using heroin. Shortly thereafter, a nurse who claimed to have treated the singer insisted that Lovato was addicted to methamphetamines . Now, new details have emerged indicating that it was, in fact, some sort of opioid that nearly claimed Demi’s life. “Demi had evidence of intravenous drug use when she was taken to the hospital after her drug overdose last week,” a source close to the situation tells Radar Online. “The physical signs were on her arms,” the source adds. While other drugs can be used intravenously, the fact that Demi injected the substance and had to be revived with Narcan indicates that it was likely heroin which caused her overdose. Of course, the question of what drug Demi was using is almost immaterial compared to the question of what comes next. Some say Lovato has agreed to go to rehab, while others insist she’s still too ill to even consider her next step. Whatever the case, family and friends are reportedly well aware that the weeks and months after Lovato leaves treatment will be crucial to her continued well-being. Demi’s mother has even gone so far as to begin the process of being granted a conservatorship over Demi. Sources have confirmed to Radar that Dianna Hart “is talking about getting a conservatorship because she does not trust Demi with anything at the moment.” The insider adds: “She feels like this is the only thing she can do to ensure her daughter will not make the same mistake again.” Obviously, Demi has a long way to go before she’s fully recovered. Teen Mom OG continues to undergo a massive cast overhaul. In the most stunning news of the week, Bristol Palin confirmed that she’s coming on board Season 8 of this long-running MTV franchise. And now Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Edwards have their own statement to make… … they will NOT be interacting with Palin when new episodes premiere later this year. For what reason? Because the couple is leaving Teen Mom OG behind. But not before hurling producers far under the bus first. Following weeks’ worth of rumors about their status on the series — Would Ryan step away to focus on rehab ? Did Palin’s addition force Ryan out ? — the couple released a statement to E! News that shot down all of this chatter. In doing so, Mackenzie and Ryan made it clear they are finished filming… while doing all they could to paint the show in a negative light. “We’re not returning to Teen Mom this season. The network told us they don’t want to show Ryan as a recovering addict,” Mackenzie told E! , making a rather scathing accusation. She wasn’t done making it, either: “But they did want to enter a contract with our unborn baby and have the baby film with Ryan’s parents so it would look like someone else is raising it.” Uhhhh, excuse you?!? Mackenzie is pregnant with the twosome’s first child, this much is true. However, she’s really claiming here that producers were hoping JUST the baby, and not its parents, would appear on Season 8?!? Wow. Ryan, who has wrestled with substance abuse for nearly as long he’s been in the spotlight and who was arrested earlier this year for heroin possession, also talked to the aforementioned outlet. The ex-husband of star Maci Bookout, with whom he shares a son named Bentley, Edwards argues that executives refused to let him stand on his own. He alleges they only wanted him to appear again on Teen Mom OG under the condition that Bookout essentially speak for him. And he was not having that. Not when his ex has laid down her version of the law to him. “They also want to take Maci’s word on how I’m doing,” Ryan says. “Maci’s said she’s not going to film unless I enter rehab again and quit the show. “But I’m sober.” Mackenzie went on to explain that the couple was told Teen Mom OG is trying to recreate the dramatic magic of Teen Mom 2. “I know they did want five girls to begin with after Farrah [Abraham] left to sort of resemble Teen Mom 2,” she says, adding: “But they didn’t want to see another recovering addict storyline. So they’re writing us out of the show right now and making it seem like we dipped out on our baby, on Bentley and on everyone. “And that’s just not the case.” As for other details of their departure? “The show had been paying for my healthcare and for the baby so they could film the visits and then a week ago they let me know that would no longer be the case,” Mackenzie tells E! News. “They’re not going to film the birth. We’re not going to be on at all. Anthony Anderson is under criminal investigation. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that it received a report against the Black-ish star, with The Blast writing that Anderson is accused of assaulting a woman last year after an event she catered for him. Inside tell the aforementioned website that the unnamed victum met with Anderson a second time after the event to discuss future opportunities. This is supposedly when the assault took place, although no other details are really known about it at this time Sources tell The Blast that the woman reported the incident months after it allegedly happened, as she was inspired by the #MeToo movement to finally speak out. “We have a crime report listing him as a suspect in a crime. It is an open investigation,” the LAPD has simply said in response to this story. A spokesperson for the star, meanwhile, has issued a statement on Anderson’s behalf. It reads as follows: “It’s unfortunate that anyone can file a police report, whether it is true or false. “The authorities have not contacted Anthony or any of his representatives about this matter. Anthony unequivocally disputes the claim. Back in 2004, Anderson and assistant director Wayne Witherspoon were accused of raping an extra on the set of the 2004 film “Hustle & Flow.” However, the charges were later dropped when the judge ruled that there was no probable cause to try the case. This has no practical bearing on the latest charges, we’re just reporting a few facts. Anderson was just nominated his fourth Emmy Award for his portrayal of Andre Johnson, the patriarch on the ABC sitcom Black-ish. He is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame later this year, as well. On the small screen, Anderson’s resume includes appearance and/or starring roles on Guys with Kids, Treme, Psych, Shameless and The Shield. On the big screen, he has had roles in The Departed (2006), Kangaroo Jack (2003) and Transformers (2007) and Scream 4 (2011). Anderson is married with two kids. J ay Z ‘s Made In America is one of the most popular music festivals in the country. However, this year will be its last at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, because the mayor pulled the plug on the location, claiming it was too expensive, even though Roc Nation covered approximately half the costs. However, Jay Z is not happy and wrote a biting piece in The Philadelphia Inquirer , ripping into Mayor Jim Kenney , who quickly responded. See Also: Papa John’s CEO Resigns After Condemning NFL Anthem Protests Jay accused the mayor of evicting the event “through a media outlet, without a sit-down meeting, notice, dialogue, or proper communication.” He said, “It signifies zero appreciation for what Made In America has built alongside the phenomenal citizens of this city. In fact, this administration immediately greeted us with a legal letter trying to stop the 2018 event.” The festival was also a huge boost to Philadelphia’s economy, according to Jay, “Since 2012, Made in America, one of the only minority-owned festivals, has had a positive $102.8 million economic impact to Philadelphia, and the festival has paid $3.4 million in rent to the city. Made in America employs more than 1,000 Philadelphians each day and 85 percent of our partners are Philadelphia-based companies.” Jay also insinuated that race was a factor, “We consider this stance a failure on the mayor’s part. Is this an accurate representation of how he and his administration treat partners that economically benefit his city? Do they regularly reject minority-owned businesses that want to continue to thrive and grow alongside his city’s people?” Mayor Kenney responded via a statement , “The City of Philadelphia supports the Made in America festival and is greatly appreciative of all that it has done for Philadelphia. We are committed to its continued success and thank them for their partnership. We hope to be able to resolve what has been an unfortunate misunderstanding. We are working with Roc Nation and Live Nation to resolve this issue and we are committed to continuing our partnership with the Made in America festival.” No word on where else Made in America will take place but judging from the passive statement above from the mayor, it might just stay at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia. He has spoken publicly about the charges at several points over the last 5-6 years as the host of The Breakfast Club as well as in interviews with DJ Akademiks, on his Brilliant Idiots podcast and also extensively in his book Black Privilege: Opportunity Comes to Those Who Create It . At the time of the alleged incident, Charlamagne, born Lenard Larry McKelvey, was 22 years old and was charged with second degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Reid, now 32, recently did an interview with former NYC radio shock jock Star where she spoke for the first time about the events of that night. Ultimately, Charlamagne plead guilty to the delinquency charge because there was alcohol provided to Jessica and her friend at the party where the alleged rape happened. As for the sexual assault charges, a medical examination concluded that Jessica was penetrated against her will, but the DNA test that Charlamagne took didn’t yield any matching results. The charges were subsequently dismissed when Jessica wouldn’t testify, a decision she says was made by her mother. Today, The Breakfast Club host’s lawyer, Marty Singer, has released a statement via TMZ denying Jessica’s claims: “More than seventeen years ago, Charlamagne was accused of a sexual assault. He never had sexual relations or any physical contact with the accuser and even provided DNA to prove it.” “At the time of these claims, Charlamagne cooperated fully with authorities, and after the investigation, this charge against him was dropped.” “Charlamagne has spoken about this many times over the years in public, including in his book.
