If you were wondering what the heck Eugene was getting up to at the Sanctuary, tonight’s episode was the one you were looking for. Going up against the 89th Annual Academy Awards is no easy task, but The Walking Dead is one of the only shows that can do so with minimal effect on its ratings. When The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 11 got underway, Eugene had just arrived at his new home: The Sanctuary. He was the same pathetic man who has been present on the hit AMC series since Season 4. He cowered at the very thought of Negan addressing him. He was led to his new home by one of Negan’s female associates. He opened a door and prepared to die, but he was given a bedroom, complete with cooking facilities and video games. If you watch The Walking Dead online , you will already know that Negan is not the type of person to extend an olive branch. In fact, he’s the kind of guy who would bash your brains out without a second thought. Eugene quickly learned that he was no a prisoner and was offered everything under the sun, but his request of lobster for his meal was declined. Seriously, where would you get lobster when the world has turned to crap? Negan offered up his wives to Eugene to help make him feel more at ease. However, the boss man warned the new addition to the team that there would be zero sexual activity between him and the wives. At the dinner party, Eugene was playing Pac-Man, but Frankie was not impressed with the events and opted to get drunk on the bed. The other two wives looked embarrassed, but you could tell they wanted to learn things from Eugene. That paved the way for Eugene to create a fake bomb. Some time later, two of the wives reappeared and ordered Eugene to create a pill to kill Frankie because she could not deal with her life. Eugene battled with what it would mean to kill someone, but he eventually decided to help them out. This involved causing a scene to get medication. He immediately began to realize how much Negan valued him, so he skipped a lengthy line and threatened the woman to let him take what he wanted. The woman scoffed at him, but she changed her stance when she realized he was there on Negan’s orders and she let him take whatever he wanted from her. Hey, he’s in a better situation with Negan than he ever was with Rick, so it all makes sense. While all of this drama was going down, Dwight went on a mission to bring Sherry back to the Sanctuary. Negan blamed her for letting Daryl escape. Dwight arrived at the home he once lived in with Sherry, but all he found was a tragic note.. The note said that she did not like what she turned Dwight into. She moved on with her life and hoped that Dwight would be able to do the same. Dwight returned to the Sanctuary and claimed that he murdered Sherry in cold blood, but said that she was not the one who let Daryl out. Plot twist: She did, but Dwight decided to take the Doctor out of the equation. He slipped Sherry’s signature into his drawer as though she had sent the doctor a parting letter. Negan quickly dispatched of the doctor because he had a new one in Eugene. Eugene then turned to the wives and told him there was no way he would hand over the lethal pills because he knew they were using them on Negan. Later, Negan appeared and told him not to be scared; he was one of them. Eugene then revealed that he has always been Negan, but wanted to meet him to confirm that. Pretty crazy. Right?! Victor Willis Calls Out Grammys For Racist Voting Practices We already know the Grammys don’t have a strong track record for recognizing “Us” and our musical accomplishments. And Lord KNOWS the backlash that came after Adele scooped up “Beyonce’s Award” last weekend. But one singer is swearing that the Grammys aren’t just out of touch or slanted toward older, whiter singers …but that there’s a committee in place whose sole purpose it is to make SURE that too many Black artists don’t skip across the stage with gold trophies. Victor Willis, the “cop” and lead singer of the Village People sent a strongly worded letter to the President of the Recording Academy, demanding he confess to the public about the existence of the secret group that he says was back in 1985 formed after Lionel Richie beat out Bruce Springsteen for the Album of the Year. According to TMZ , Willis says the committee’s only purpose is to “override the decision of Grammy voters in the event the select committee does not like who the Grammy voter has chosen” for the 4 most important awards. “The question is how many African Americans are on that committee? If certain people at the Grammys don’t like who the voters have chosen, a Grammy committee will simply override the voters and subsequently select who they think should win. Like Adele, maybe?” Well, damn. TMZ researched it further and it does appear that there is indeed a secret committee in place, but allegedly it’s designed cancel out “embarrassing” nominations — lip-syncers like, Milli Vanilli, for instance. Back in February of 2015, several media outlets reported that Val Kilmer was on his deathbed . The actor was reportedly suffering from throat cancer, and several insiders insisted that his condition had been exacerbated by his Christian Scientist beliefs, which prevented him from undergoing necessary medical procedures. Clearly, either Kilmer’s condition was exaggerated or he made a miraculous recovery, because two years later, the beloved screen icon is still standing – but some continue to maintain that he’s on his last legs. Kilmer appeared at an event in Los Angeles last week to promote his one-man show Citizen Twain, which has reportedly been put on indefinite hiatus due to the actor’s health issues. Kilmer canceled a tour of the show back in November and has yet to reschedule. The event on February 9 marked his first public appearance in several weeks. Sadly, those in attendance say the actor appeared pale and gaunt, and was unable to stand while addressing the audience (as prior speakers had) and seemed to run out of breath while speaking. “He performs as the ghost of Mark Twain in the show, but even as a dead man he looked ten times better than he does now,” one attendee told Radar Online. The witness added: “The difference between Val three years ago and him on stage now is both shocking and heartbreaking.” “He could barely stand, he had to sit down to talk,” said another audience member. “He was gasping for breath and he’s lost about half his body weight. His face has such deep lines on it and he appears so fragile. It is so sad to see such a huge talent so humbled.” Kilmer’s sallow appearance and long disappearances from the spotlight have led to numerous rumors about his declining health. Back in November, the actor’s longtime friend Michael Douglas confirmed that Kilmer has cancer . Kilmer issued a statement saying that he is fond of Douglas, but that Douglas is telling tales out of school: “Whatever led Michael Douglas to speculate about my health, he’s a loving and devoted friend to a privileged group of talented people,” Kilmer said. “I’m sure he meant no harm.” The elegiac tone of Citizen Twain has led some fans to speculate that it’s meant to serve as Kilmer’s swan song: “The first half of the show is very funny, but the second half is a lot more reflective,” says one audience member. “It’s very philosophical in places and deals with some big questions.” Our thoughts go out to Kilmer and his family. Before the ceremony began, Adele won the Grammys for best pop solo performance (for “Hello”) and best pop vocal album (for 25). She's pretty darn good, isn't she? House Judiciary Committee Member Calls For Inquiry Into Trump Ethics Some real “House of Cards” isht is going down in America right now, but it looks like we may already be making our way towards the impeachment of Trump . Thursday, NY Congressman Rep. Jerrold Nadler filed what is known as a “resolution of inquiry,” on Trump that will essentially force the House Judiciary Committee to take a stance on the President and his potentially shady ties. Nadler said he elected to make the move because the Republican party has failed to look into Trump’s ethical issues: “Donald Trump has refused to step away from his business interests in any meaningful way, his foreign entanglements are likely unconstitutional, he has repeatedly refused to disclose his financial assets, and he is clouded by the specter of Russian intervention in the election and his Administration,” Nadler said in a statement. “Republicans have shown zero willingness to follow through on their duty to conduct oversight, and they must be held accountable if they are truly willing to abdicate this constitutional obligation and must be made to answer to the American people for that failure.” Nadler specifically singled out Judiciary Committee chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) for downplaying Trump’s potentially shady business ties which may hold conflicts of interest with his position. We’ve seen a lot of reports circulating claiming that his filing is the start of an impeachment but that’s not exactly what it is — although the impeachment process could end up being the result of the filing depending on what is revealed in the inquiry. Now that Nadler has filed, the Judiciary Committee has to respond to the resolution of inquiry within 14 Congressional workdays. The committee can report the resolution favorably, reject it or revise it and if it chooses not to act within that time period, Nadler could request the resolution be discharged in order for the House as a whole to vote. Nadler is requesting information related to investigations of Trump, his associates, foreign business interests and conflict of interest laws (remember when his publicist spent so much time during his first press conference talking about emoluments???). If the resolution passes, the Justice Department has to provide the House with any information they may have discovered during criminal or counterintelligence investigations. Since so many people are talking impeachment… According to Countable: Impeachment involves the levying of charges against a government official who has committed “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” The indictment comes from the House, and if a majority of lawmakers support impeachment the case advances to the Senate. The Senate then begins a trial with witnesses and cross-examinations, and a two-thirds majority is required to convict an official. In the event of a conviction, the official is immediately removed from office and could be barred from holding office in the future or face criminal prosecution. Indeed, while many may remember Super Bowl LI as the first overtime contest in the history of this NFL championship game, others may consider the event special due to the unique nature of the ads. Some were silly. Some were funny. Some featured celebrities. However others clearly tried to send a message to the world. There was the controversial Budweiser ad that told the story of that beer's immigrant founder. There was the Airbnb commercial that took a clear stance on Donald Trump's immigration policy. But the following spot for 84 Lumber represented the most obvious, clear cut case of a company using its time to focus on something far beyond its product. A building materials supply company, 84 Lumber spent considerable money to show viewers a mother and daughter embarking on a journey across Mexico in a bid to reach the United States. The ad's initial version – in which the loved ones are blocked by a forbidding border wall – was deemed “too controversial” to air by Fox executives. Therefore, the company settled on a 90-second ad that depicted portions of the journey, with an invitation to watch its conclusion online. And that conclusion is what we present below. At the end of it, the mother and daughter find a wooden gate in the wall, which opens to the tagline: “The will to succeed is always welcome here.” Did the company's gamble to get this political off? According to People Magazine, traffic to the 84 Lumber website last night was so intense and ongoing that it caused the site to crash. “We will always support the American Dream,” wrote 84 Lumber on Twitter shortly after the ad aired. “This is a conversation that’s taking place in homes across America and so 84 Lumber was willing to be part of that conversation, to be relevant and timely,” Rob Schapiro, chief creative officer of 84 Lumber’s ad agency Brunner, told Business Insider. “In Part Two [of the ad] you will see what a beacon of light America is, not just within America but beyond to other countries. “We are that beacon of light for people for finding success from hard work and making a contribution.” WATCH THE FULL, UNCUT VERSION BELOW:
